Jesse Hilsendeger
FARGO -- Jesse Aaron Hilsendeger, 1, died Jan. 7, 2000 in a Rochester, Minn., hospital. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, at Church of the Holy Spirit, Fargo, with burial in Holy Cross Cemetery, Fargo.
He is survived by his parents, Duane and Kori Hilsendeger, Fargo; his grandparents, John and Glady Hilsendeger, Fargo, and Ken and Betty Blilie, Kindred; and one great-grandmother, Selma Blilie, Kindred. (Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo)
John Halloran
John Halloran, 69, 200 N. Mandan St., died Jan. 8, 2000 in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, at Cathedral of the Holy Spirit, Bismarck.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, at Eastgate Funeral Service, and for one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers gifts to establish a college fund for daughter Katherine Nelsen Halloran. Further arrangements are pending.
Marvin Olson
MADDOCK -- Marvin Olson, 78, Salem, Ore., and formerly of Maddock, died Jan. 2, 2000 in Salem, Ore. Memorial services will be held at a later date in the spring at St. Olaf Lutheran Church, rural Minnewaukan, with burial in the church cemetery.
He is survived by three sons, James, Medical Lake, Wash., David, Salem, Ore., and Robert, Bothell, Wash.; three daughters, Michelle McDaniels, Camden, Tenn., Karen Schatz, Spokane, Wash., and Andrine Harland, Salem, Ore.; 10 grandchildren and three sisters, Gladys Innis, Gresham, Ore., Edith Togstad, Maddock, and Lenora Hanson, Devils Lake. Olga Winterer
CARRINGTON -- Olga C. Winterer, 85, Carrington, died Jan. 8, 2000 in the Carrington health center. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, at Federated Church, Carrington, with burial in Carrington Cemetery.

Otto Gussner
Otto Gussner, 93, Mandan, died Jan. 7, 2000 in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Seventh-day Adventist Church, Mandan, with the Rev. Darrell Lindensmith officiating. Burial will be in Mandan Union Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1-9 p.m. today, at Buehler-Larson Funeral Home, Mandan, and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.
Otto was born March 12, 1906 in Mandan, the son of George and Louise (Schrammel) Gussner. In 1929, Otto opened his own radiator repair shop in Mandan, which he operated until his retirement in 1975. He married Helen Schrenk on June 20, 1965 in Bismarck. Otto was one of the early pilots in the area and loved to fly his plane. He also enjoyed music and played trumpet, marimba and piano.
Otto is survived by his wife, Helen; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Alfreda Hess and his brother, Richard. (Buehler-Larson Funeral Home, Mandan)

DICKINSON -- Anna E. Kolling, 82, Dickinson, died Jan. 11, 2000, in the Dickinson hospital. Services will be held at 10 a.m. MST Saturday at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Dickinson, with burial in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Dickinson.
She is survived by eight sons, Clarence, Francis, Lester, Michael and Keith, all of Dickinson, George, Glendive, Mont., Allen, Mandan, and Elmer, Staples, Minn.; seven daughters, Juliann Hatzenbuhler, Eleanor Dietrick, Sharleen Kolling and Liz Joslyn, all of Dickinson, Audrey Kelsey, Columbus, Ohio, Deborah Rivers, Coos Bay, Ore., and Pamela Copenhaver, Carrington; two sisters, Betty Schneider, Dickinson, and Josephine Ridl, Bloomington, Minn.; one brother, Joseph Hensel, Minneapolis; 41 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She is survived by one son, Bryan, Williston; two daughters, Noreen Lindell, Plentywood, Mont., and Carol Mihulka, Bismarck; three grandchildren; one gerat-grandchild; one brother, Marvin Ewert, Devils Lake; and four sisters, Ruth Schmaltz, Anamoose, Lizzy Lemer, Drake, Josephine Ewert, Minot, and Margie peerboom, Cushing, Minn. Emma Wiest
LEMMON, S.D. -- Emma Wiest, 71, Lemmon, died Jan. 12, 2000, in a Fairfax, Va. hospital. Services will be held at 2 p.m.l Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Lemmon, with burial in Greenhill Cemetery, Lemmon.
She is survived by three sons, Richard, North Mankato, Minn., Ronald, Cottage Grove, Minn., and Daryl, Thornton, Colo.; three daughters, Jolenta Court, Houston, Texas, Janet Hoover, Haymarket, Va., and Diane Dyer, Elko, Nev.; two brothers; two sisters; and 11 grandchildren. Helen Otto
HARVEY -- Helen Otto, 89, Harvey, died Jan. 12, 2000, in the Harvey nursing home. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Bethel Baptist Church, Harvey, with burial in Goodrich Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. today at Hertz Funeral Home, Harvey.
Helen was born Nov. 13, 1910, on the family farm in Schiller Township north of Goodrich, to Adolph and Emilia Otto. She grew up there and attended rural school. Her father died when she was 16 and she helped her mother and brother, Ewald, farm and ranch. She and her mother moved to Harvey in 1962. She then became a nurses aid and worked at St. Aloisius Hospital and Nursing Home in Harvey. She retired in 1984.
She was an active member of Bethel Baptist Church.
She is survived by two sisters-in-law, Genevieve Otto, Harvey, and Hildegaard Otto, Goodrich; 12 nieces and nephews.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Rudolph, Ewald, Ted and Rueben; one sister, Ruth Fallon; and a nephew, Bruce Otto.
Hilda Bucholz
TURTLE LAKE -- Hilda (Grosz) Bucholz, 88, Bismarck, formerly of Turtle Lake and Wilton, died Jan. 13, 2000, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Turtle Lake, with the Rev. Norman Paskowsky. Burial will be in Turtle Lake Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Friday at Goetz Funeral Home, Turtle Lake, and will continue at the church one hour before services.
Hilda Schell was born Nov. 19, 1911, near Mercer, to John Schell Sr. and Margaret 9diele) Schell. She grew up on her parents' farm six miles south of Mercer and attended rural school. When she was seven years old her mother died and as the oldest daughter she helped her stepmother, Christine (Krammer) Schell raise the family. She married Alfred Grosz on Oct. 22, 1933, near Mercer. They farmed and ranched north of Turtle Lake. Alfred died Nov. 26, 1951, and she moved into Turtle Lake in 1953. She married Robert Buchholz, Oct. 22, 1960, at Turtle Lake. They lived at rural Regan and later moved into Wilton, where she was active in the Senior Citizens Club and Sunne Lutheran Church, rural Wilton.
Robert died in October 1977. In August of 1992, she moved to the Kensington at Bismarck, and in 1996, became a resident of The Terrace. She enjoyed hobbies of quilting, crocheting, cooking and mending. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church at Turtle Lake. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Luella and Frank Philbrick, Fargo, and Alvina and Wilbert Fueller, Turtle Lake; three sons and daughters-in-law, Leland and Juanita Grosz, Garrison, Gary and Bonny Grosz, Grand Forks, and Alvina and Laura Grosz, Medford, Ore.; 12 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Elsie Bossert, Turtle Lake; and one brother, Edwin Schell, Bismarck and Mesa, Ariz.
Jacob Schlecht
WISHEK -- Jacob Schlecht, 92, Wishek, died Jan. 11, 2000, in the Wishek hospital. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at First Congregational Church, Kulm, withburial in the church cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Emilie; three sons, Norbert, Bedford, N.H., Arlie, Hutchinson, Minn., and Larry, Omaha, Neb.; two daughters, Marilyn Harbuck, Bullhead City, Ariz., and Dorothy Nelson, Lovell, Wyo.; two stepdaughters, Violet Diede, Gackle, and Lois Schlecht, Gackle; two stepsons, Burnie Geohring, Bismarck, and Larry Geohring, New York City; 14 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one brother, Matthias. WILTON -- Janice Marie Dotterer, 55, Yukon, Okla., formerly of Wilton, died Jan. 11, 2000. Services will be held at 10 a.m. today at St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church, Yukon, with burial in Yukon Cemetery.
She is survived by her husband, Charles; two sons, Mark Harrison, Kingfisher, Okla., and Kyle Osborne, York Town, Va.; four daughters, Sheila Luedders, Rantoul, Kan., Sheryle Kolar, Yukon, Jana Russell, Oklahoma City, Okla., and Kim Windle, Slaughterville, Okla.; one brother, Wesley Brezden, Mandan; four sisters, Paulette Buchholtz, Bismarck, Marlys Peake, Wilton, Sharlene Pulver, West Hope, and Vicki Jose, Bismarck; and four grandchildren. Dr. Joan Walters
GLEN ULLIN -- Dr. Joan S. Walters, 57, Luray, Va., died Dec. 28, 1999, in her home. Services were held Jan. 3 at Jones Funeral Home, with Doug Hardman officiating. Burial was in Shenandoah Memorial Park.
Mrs. Walters was born April 25, 1942, in Glen Ullin, the daughter of Anton and Katie Rausch Schirado. She worked in government contract management for Electronic Warfare Association. She married H. Lee Walters on June 4, 1994, in Las Vegas.
She is survived by her husband, Lee; one daughter, LaDawn Presgraves, Winchester, Va.; two stepdaughters, Cheryl Lynn Carson, Chesapeake Beach, Md., and Teresa Ann Catoe, Lancaster, S.C.; four sisters, Katherine Horener, Glen Ullin, Genevieve Karlin, Spokane, Wash., Lena Sorensen, Camona Island, Wash., and Pearl Voegele, Glen Ullin; five brothers, Harry Schirado, Richard Schirado, Mike Schirado, Anton Schirado and Clinton Schirado, all of Glen Ullin; and six grandchildren.
