ELLENDALE -- Ramon Pomplun, 51, Ellendale, died Nov. 30, 2000. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Zion Lutheran Church, Ellendale, with burial in Ellendale Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Della; two sons, Ryan and Tyler, both of Ellendale; his mother, Alice Pomplun, Ellendale; four sisters, Gail Pompllun, Ellendale, Rayme Schlichenmayer, Inver Grove Heights, Minn., Karen Pomplun, Manchester, Conn., and Carol Pomplun, Philadelphia. Anton Roubal
Anton "Tony" Roubal, 68, Bismarck, died Dec. 2, 2000, in his home. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at United Church of Christ, Bismarck, with the Rev. James Moos officiating. Burial will be in Glen Ullin Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at Bismarck Funeral Home, and will continue at the church one hour before services. Tony was born Oct. 25, 1932, in Bismarck, the son of Anton and Bertha Roubal. Tony was raised north of Regan, on the family farm and educated at the Regan Country School. He later farmed the land he grew up on. In 1976, he sold the farm and started trucking and hauling hay for a living. On Oct. 7, 1977, he married Charmaine (Wetzel) Weiand and moved to Hebron. In 1987, the family moved to Bismarck. He started working for J&S Trucking, Mandan, hauling hay from Canada and Minnesota. He also worked as a janitor at Marillac Manor, a bartender at the Eagles Club, Mandan, and at the Mandan and Bismarck Moose clubs. His last job was with Bis-Man Security, Bismarck, and help harvesting on the Rod Swenson farm. He enjoyed working, was always on the go, happy-go-lucky, joking with everyone. He liked working in the yard, growing all kinds of flowers, and sprucing up the place. He got into wood crafts with his wife and cutting and painting the yard art. He liked to put up lights and decorate with his wife. Those were happy times. Tony is survived by his loving wife, Charmaine; seven sons, Tony Jr., Bismarck, Wes and his wife, Michelle, Bismarck, Terry Roubal and his wife, Holly, McClusky, Tom Weiand and his friend, Deb, Glen Ullin, Nick Weiand and his wife, Kelly, Hebron, Steph Weiand and his wife, Julie, Waterloo, Iowa, and Scott Weiand, Fargo; one daughter, Ruth Wald and her husband, Leon; 15 grandchildren, Mandi, Melissa, Dustin, Brittini, Michael, Amy, Katie, Evan, Tashawa, Kelsey, Morgan, Reed, Andrew, Alexander and Austin; and two great-granddaughters, McKenzie and Mikala; one sister, Rose Strand, Regan, and brother-in-law, Barney. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one son, Lesley.

BEULAH -- Naomi Unruh, 88, Beulah, died Dec. 1, 2000, in the Beulah care center. Services will be held at 10 a.m. MST Tuesday at Peace United Methodist Church, Beulah. Further arrangements are pending at Seibel Funeral Home, Beulah.
Ione Wetsch
MINOT -- Ione Wetsch, 88, Minot, died Dec. 2, 2000, in a Minot hospital. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Church of St. Joseph, Mandan, with the Rev. Patrick Schumacher officiating. Burial will be in Mandan Union Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon-9 p.m. Monday at Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan, where a parish vigil will begin at 7 p.m. Monday. Ione was born Oct. 4, 1912, in Grand Forks, the daughter of Ole and Hilda Aaker. She was raised and educated in Grand Forks, where she graduated from high school. She continued her education at the University of North Dakota in elementary education and received her Ph.D. in that field. She married Clem Wetsch in May 1935, in St. Anthony. Her dedication to her profession and her love for children had her in the classroom for 45 years. She taught in Amidon, New Rockford, Lake Washington, and finally in Minot, where she taught from 1959-1972 when she retired. She was a member of North Dakota Education Association and American Association of University Women. During her time as a teacher she did find time to go fishing with her husband at Lake Sakakawea, which was her favorite form of recreation. After retirement, their extensive travel throughout the United States was a source of enjoyment. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Harlan, Arvid and Arthur; and two sisters, Arlene and Gladys.
Clara White
GARRISON -- Clara White, 91, Garrison, died Dec. 1, 2000, in Garrison. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Boelter Funeral Home, Bismarck, with the Rev. Paul Schauer officiating. Burial will be in the spring in Fairview Cemetery, Bismarck. Visitation will be from 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday, and will continue one hour before services, all at the funeral home. She was born Oct. 21, 1909, in Moorhead, Minn., the daughter of Edward and Emma (Inman) Campbell. She was raised and educated in Grafton. Clara married Willard White. Clara enjoyed embroidering and braiding rugs. She is survived by one brother, Art Campbell, Wilton; and one sister, Martha Campbell, Lakota.
Frank Witkowski
Frank Witkowski, 84, Mandan, died Dec. 1, 2000, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Church of St. Joseph, Mandan, with the Rev. Patrick Schumacher officiating. Burial will be in Mandan Union Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday at Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan, where a parish vigil will begin at 8 p.m. Monday. Visitation will continue after 9 a.m. Tuesday, also at the funeral home. Frank was born April 3, 1916, in Chicago, the son of Leo and Josephine (Nubraski) Witkowski. At the age of two, he came to Solen, where he was raised and educated. On Aug. 8, 1940, he married Cleo Iverson in Mandan. Frank attended Hanson Auto School where he took up mechanic schooling in Fargo. He was employed with Western Auto as a mechanic for eight years. Shortly after he was the owner/operator of C&F Service Garage in Mandan from 1947 to 1977. On Aug. 30, 1974, he married Alice Toepke in Mandan, where they have made their home. For 56 years, Frank was a charter member and past president of Mandan Eagles Club, where he had held all offices. Frank was a very reserved person who could fix just about anything. He loved spending time with his family and loved traveling the past 10 years where he had been to every state in the United States, and he spent his winter months in Florida and Arizona. He is survived by his wife, Alice; one son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Debbie; one stepson and stepdaughter-in-law, Richard and Sandra Toepke, all of Bismarck; two daughters and sons-in-law, Bonita "Bonnie" and Jim Keller, and Fran and John Ellison, all of Mandan; one stepdaughter and stepson-in-law, Bonnie and Doug Johnsrud, Watford City; seven grandchildren, Thomas, Daniel and Joseph Keller, Catherine Ehlis, Rebecca Ressler, Scott and Lee Ellison; 14 great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren, Tamara and Stuart Toepke, and Kristopher Johnsrud; and one sister, Marie Friesz, Mandan. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Cleo, who died in 1971; three infant sons, Larry, Terry and Jim; and two brothers, Carl and John.

Clyde M. Nunn
STEELE -- Clyde M. Nunn, 88, Steele, died Feb. 11, 2001, in a Steele care center. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Golden Manor Chapel, Steele, with the Rev. Paul Tjostem officiating. No visitation will be held because cremation is taking place. Clyde was born March 16, 1912, at McClusky, the son of John and Josie (Burkett) Nunn. He was raised and educated in the Steele-Dawson area. On July 2, 1942, he joined the U.S. Army Air Force and was discharged Nov. 26, 1945. He lvoed to tell stories about his travels before entering the Army. He married Freida Janke Nov. 9, 1948. He worked as a machine operator for Kidder County for 23 years and retired in 1974. He is survived by one brother and sister-in-law, Delmar and Laura Nunn, Dawson; four sisters, Sybil McGill and Jone Barnick, both of Grand Forks, and Mardella Ferguson and Anoma Nunn, both of Victorville, Calif.; five sisters-in-law, Helen Nunn, Sheridan, Mont., Ethel Nunn, Dawson, Donna Nunn, Mankato, Minn., Pearl Janke, Steele, and Eda Werner, Bismarck; one brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Martin and Bertha Janke; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
