Anthony Lill
MERCER -- Anthony "Tony" Lill, 59, Mercer, formerly of Bremen, passed away May 10, 2001, at his home. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church, Underwood. Burial will be held at 4 p.m. in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, rural Bremen. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. today at Nelson Funeral Home, Fessenden. A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. today at St. Catherine Catholic Church, Turtle Lake. Anthony "Tony" Lill, son of Anton and Grace (Riedesel) Lill, was born Oct. 30, 1941, in New Rockford. He grew up on the family farm south of Bremen and received his early education in an area country school. He later attended high school in Cando, graduating in 1959. In June 1959 Tony entered the United States Navy and served his country until December 1962. Following his honorable discharge he was employed with several heavy construction companies, including Archie Campbell Co. and William Clairmont Inc. In 1977 he accepted a management position with Falkirk Mining Company of Underwood and continued to work for Falkirk until retiring in 1999. Tony was married to Pamela Freeberg in 1972 and has resided in Mercer since. Tony was a member of St. Catherine Catholic Church of Turtle Lake and a past member of St. Joseph Catholic Church of Bremen. He was also a member of Lawrence Stephenson American Legion Post No. 133 of Turtle Lake. He is survived by his wife, Pamela; three daughters, Carla Lill, Newport, Ore., Stephanie Lill, Grand Forks, and Tonia Lill, Fargo; one brother, David Lill, rural Cathay; and two sisters, Shirley Allmaras, Mokena, Ill., and Linda (Mrs. Phil) Schafer, rural New Rockford.

Viola Edinger
TURTLE LAKE -- Viola V. Edinger, 71, Turtle Lake, died Jan. 25, 2000, in the Turtle Lake hospital. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at United Methodist Church, Turtle Lake, with the Rev. Jeanine Kersey-Russell officiating. Burial will be in Turtle Lake Cemetery.
Casketbearers will be LaVern Berg, Dan Berg, Joe Skudlarek, Carl Moseng, Terry Duerre and Brad Edinger.
Honorary casketbearers will be all of Viola's grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 12:30-8 p.m. Thursday at Goetz Funeral Home, Turtle Lake, and will contine at the church one hour before services.
Viola V. Edinger was born Oct. 16, 1928, near Pickardville, to Fred and Cecelia (Schick) Helm. She grew up on her parent's farm north of Pickardville. Her mother passed away when Viola was very young. Her father then married Dorothy (Wagner) Helm and the family moved to Idaho where they resided in the communities of Paul, Idaho, and Priest River, Idaho. Her family moved back to Turtle Lake in 1941. She married Clarence Edinger on June 5, 1948, in Aumesville, Ore., where Clarence worked at a local sawmill. The couple returned to Turtle Lake in 1949, where they raised their family. Viola enjoyed embroidery, raising flowers and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Clarence; three sons and one daughter-in-law, Dennis and Sandy, Turtle Lake, Raymond and his special friend, Diana Nelson, Turtle Lake, and Gary, Turtle Lake; two daughters and one son-in-law, Patty and Jerry Johnson, Spokane, Wash., and Sharon Freuer, Underwood; four grandchildren, Kevin and Kendall Johnson, and Stacey and Sara Edinger; and two great-grandchildren, Shannon and Nicholas Johnson; three brothers and one sister-in-law, Ephriam and Irene, Lewiston, Idaho, Jim, Colfax, Wash., and Eugene, Osburn; and eight sisters and seven brothers-in-law, Dorothy and Mike Glasser, Spokane, Louise and Eddie Warrick, Pierre, S.D., Shirley and Larry Ulrey, Colfax, Wash., Irene and Bill Fagen, Silver Springs, Nev., Gloria and Palmer Schmidt, Mercer, Judy and Gary Schauer, Underwood, Eldena and Art ulat, Ridgecrest, Calif., and Karen Beyers, Ridgecrest, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Gerald.
