Irene Wing
Irene L. Wing, 86, 716 Poplar St., Mandan, died April 10, 2001, in Topeka, Kan. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Mandan United Methodist Church, Mandan, with the Rev. Mark Phillips officiating. Burial will be in Mandan Union Cemetery.
Visitation will be from noon-8 p.m. today and Sunday at Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan, and will continue at the church one hour before services.
Irene L. (Iverson) Wing was born
July 30, 1914, in Provost, Alberta, Canada. She was the daughter of Lafe and Inez (Williams) Iverson. She was raised and educated in the Timmer area. On Nov. 1, 1932, she married
Donald C. Wing in McIntosh, S.D., and they raised seven children.
This fun loving and feisty woman was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed being a housewife and loved sewing, quilting and baking. One of her specialties was homemade bread, buns and rolls.
Irene is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Kelly and Vi, Mandan; four daughters and five sons-in-law, Donna and Neil Hamilton, Freeport, Fla., Carol Spicer, Raleigh, N.C., Deborah K. and Larry Larkin, Topeka, Kan., Sandra and Curtis R. Rekkedal, Norfolk, Va., Leslie R. Wiedrick, Bismarck, and Donald Fischer, Pierre, S.D.; 24 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; one sister, Darlene Hoovestal, New Salem; and a close personal friend, neighbor and caretaker, Julia Stensland.
She was preceded in death by her parents; seven brothers; five sisters; her husband; an infant daughter; two grown daughters; one grandson; one granddaughter; and one son-in-law.
Sanford Wold
RAY -- Sanford Wold, 73, Ray, died April 13, 2001, in his home. Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at East Plaza Cemetery, Plaza.
He is survived by his wife, Jeanne; one son, Kenneth, Nampa, Idaho; one daughter, Connie Maas, Prior Lake, Minn.; two stepsons, Melvin Harbin, Flowermound, Texas, and Sam Harbin, Ray; one stepdaughter, Kathy Perry, Atkins, Ark.; two brothers, Myron and Jerome, both of Plaza; five sisters, Elvera Dyke, Plaza, Marion Ness, Tigard, Ore., Avis Remmick, Kindred, Sharon Saewert, Tallahassee, Fla., and Gloria Walker, Somis, Calif.; six grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Payton Campbell
A private family service for Payton Dawn Campbell, infant, will be held at 2 p.m. MDT Monday at Stevenson-Mischel-Olson Chapel, Dickinson, with the Rev. Brian Wangler officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Richardton.
Visitation will be from 3-9 p.m. today at the funeral home, where a vigil will be said at 8 tonight. Visitation will continue from 9 a.m.-1:30 p.m.
Payton Dawn Campbell was born
April 13, 2001, in Dickinson to Andy and Leah (Hoff) Campbell. Payton was a blessing that will be loved and cherished forever. Her spirit will remain with those who were closest to her.
She is survived by her parents, Andy and Leah Campbell, Dickinson; her grandparents, Gerald and Koleen Hoff, Richardton, and Fred and Lori Campbell, Dickinson; her great-grandparents, Leo and Elanore Hoff, Richardton, Don and Helen Wilmes, Richardton, Don and Ruth Schott, Miles City, Mont, and Bess Campbell, Miles City; uncles and aunts, Brian Campbell, Freddie Campbell, Jill Campbell, Brent Hoff, Wendy and Dustin Mitzel, Tara Hoff, Amber and Rob Bartz; and cousins, Victoria Kuntz, Paige Hoff and Abbie Campbell.
She was preceded in death by her great-grandfather, Fred Campbell.
Marcelline Espe
Marcelline M. Espe, 68, Bismarck, died April 12, 2001, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Bismarck, with the Rev. Jeff Tengesdal officiating. Burial will be in North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, rural Mandan.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Bismarck Funeral Home, and will continue one hour before services at the church.
Marcelline was born
on Feb. 11, 1933, in Park River, the daughter of LeRoy and Adelaide Erickson. She was reared in Park River and graduated from Park River High School in 1951. She attended Jamestown College where she met her husband, and she graduated in 1955 with a bachelor of science degree in nursing. On Sept. 5, 1955, she married
her one true love, Robert Espe, in Jamestown. Following her graduation from Jamestown College, she ws employed as a registered nurse for many years. Prior to her retirement, she was a rehabilitation nurse at Medcenter One. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and traveling with her husband across the country to their favorite spots, such as Laughlin, Nev., where they spent several winters.
Marcelline is survived by her mother, Adelaide Erickson, Park River; her daughter, Dr. Barbara Espe, Bismarck, her daughter and son-in-law, Patricia Espe-Pfeifer and Dr. Jason Pfeifer, Rockford, Ill.; her son and daughter-in-law, Douglas and Cheri Espe, Cloquet, Minn.; her son, Dean Espe, Dallas. Of her siblings, she is survived by her brother, Earl Erickson, Park River; and her sister and brother-in-law, Jean and Sonny Sobolik, Grass Valley, Calif. She wsa the proud grandmother of four beautiful children, Robert (age 15), John (age 12), Brenna (age 10), and Autumn (age 7), Cloquet, Minn.
She was preceded in death by her husband.
Marcelline will always be remembered as a kind and caring mother, grandmother, and friend to all those who knew her.
Wilfred Fleischer
Wilfred Fleischer, 84, Mandan, died April 13, 2001, in his home. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Bethel Lutheran Church, Bismarck, with the Rev. Timothy A. Jenks officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck.
Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. today at Buehler-Larson Funeral Home, Mandan, where a prayer service will begin at 8 tonight. Visitation will continue at the church one hour before services.
Wilfred was born
Feb. 18, 1917, near Brainerd, Minn., the son of George and Clara (Dasher) Fleischer. When his mother died in 1926, he and his sister, Ethel, came to Hannover to live with his aunt and uncle, the Albert Dasher's.
Educated in Hannover, he married
Louise Bargmann there on June 8, 1941. They farmed in that area until 1958, when they moved to New Salem. In 1959 he began operating the Surge Milking Machine business. He remained inthe milking machine business until 1974, when they moved to Mandan. He worked as a custodian and general maintenance handyman in Mandan until his retirement.
During his retirement years in Mandan, he enjoyed attended his grandchildren's basketball games, music concerts and other activities. He also found enjoyment in the outdoors, hunting, fishing and visiting with the many friends he made while in business and during retirement.
Wilfred is survived by his wife of almost 60 years, Louise; three sons and daughters-in-law, Leland and Linda, Mandan, Calvin and Jan, Bismarck, and Gary and Barbara, St. Louis, Mo.; and nine grandchildren, Suzi Huovinen, Nancy, Jonathan, Marc, Matthew, John, Greg, Angie and Julie Fleischer.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepmother, Easter; his brothers, Herman and Lester; his sisters, Lorraine Black, Ethel Bauer and Irene Scheidt; and his stepbrother, Robert Fleischer.
Wilbur Harmsen
Wilbur D. Harmsen, 70, 108 Cherokee Ave., died April 13, 2001, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Perry Funeral Home, Mandan, with the Rev. Mary Porter officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Bismarck, with military rites by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1326.
Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Monday at Perry Funeral Home, Mandan, and will continue one hour before services.
Wilbur was born
Oct. 3, 1930, at Bismarck, to Rolf and Ruby (Grady) Harmsen. He was raised and educated in Bismarck. He graduated from Bismarck High School in 1945, and from the University of North Dakota with a degree in hospital and business administration. Wilbur served in the U.S. Air Force from 1950-1954. He then worked for the Social Security Administration from 1955-1965. In 1965, he moved to Baltimore, Md., and was vice president of the South Baltimore General Hospital, retiring in 1988, and then moved to Bismarck.
Wilbur was a member of the Moose and American Legion. He enjoyed NASCAR racing, sports in general and Civil War history.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth; one daughter and son-in-law, Denise and Kenneth Weigle, York Springs, Penn.; one sister and brother-in-law, Lois and Kenneth Fischer, Marietta, Calif.; one brother and sister-in-law, Rolf and Jan Harmsen, Missoula, Mont.; and three grandchildren, Kirsten, Allyson and Collin Weigle.
Wilbur was preceded in death by his parents.
Tillie Heinle
BUCHANAN -- Tillie Heinle, 96, Buchanan, died April 12, 2001, in a Jamestown care center. Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Central Dakota Village Chapel, Jamestown, with burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Jamestown.
She is survived by two daughters, Delores Reed, Richvale, Calif., and Florence Weber, Callaway, Minn.; two sons, Vernon, Medina, and Robert, Buchanan; 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. (Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown)

DICKINSON -- Lucille Schnell Law, 81, Dickinson, died April 14, 2001, in a Dickinson nursing home. Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m. MDT Tuesday at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Dickinson, with burial in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Dickinson.
She is survived by two sons, Richard, Santa Barbara, Calif.,and Bob, Clayton, Calif.; one daughter, Cathie Mann, Houston, Texas; five grandchildren; six brothers, Raymond, Willard, Bob, Wayne, Jerry and Gordon Schnell; two sisters, Oral Shjeflo and Shirlene Winn. Eva Mesling
DICKINSON -- Eva Mesling, 95, Dickinson, died April 13, 2001, in a Dickinson care center. Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. MDT May 5 at St. Benedict's Health Center, Dickinson.

She is survived by two daughters, Ardith Berge, Calgary, Alberta, Canada, and Rhoda Micale, San Antonio, Texas; three sons, David, Worden, Mont., Terrence, Williston, and Stanley, Spokane, Wash.; 16 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ingeborg Skurdal, Red Wing, Minn., and Marie Jensen, New Port Richey, Fla.; and four brothers, John Langager, Portland, Ore., Silas Langager, Williston, Eldor Langager, Red Wing, and David Langager, Phoenix. Robin Biwer
