DICKINSON -- Leona Trotter, 92, Dickinson, died April 10, 2001, in the Dickinson hospital. Services will be held at 11 a.m. MDT Monday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Dickinson. Burial will be in Dunn Center Cemetery, Dunn Center. She is survived by five children, Jack Harrington, Covington, Wash., Phyllis Jorgenson, Bismarck, Bobbie Kadrmas, Dickinson, Judy Foley, Simi Valley, Calif., and Gail Massey, Dickinson; 16 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and one sister, Zudora Carns, Mesa, Ariz. Selma Wold
PLAZA -- Selma A. Wold, 96, Plaza, died April 6, 2001, in a Stanley care center. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at First Lutheran Church, Plaza. Burial will be in the city cemetery. She is survived by three sons, Sanford, Ray, and Myron and Jerome, both of Plaza; five daughters, Elvera Dyke, Plaza, Marion Ness, Tigard, Ore., Avis Remmick, Kindred, Sharon Saewert, Tallahassee, Fla., and Gloria Walker, Smois, Calif.; 30 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Sherman Allan
YORK -- Sherman Allan, 71, York, died April 11, 2001, in a Fargo hospital. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Nelson Funeral Home, Leeds, with burial in Pleasant Valley Church of the Brethren Cemetery, York.
He is survived by one sister, Anita Rieke, Harvey; and two brothers, Larry, Milton, Wash., and Richard, Federal Way, Wash.
Marcelline Espe
Marcelline Espe, 68, Bismarck, died April 12, 2001, in a Bismarck hospital. Arrangements are pending at Bismarck Funeral Home.
Baylee Ferderer
Baylee Marie Alexandria Ferderer died on April 12, 2001, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at St. Vincent's Church, Crown Butte, with the Rev. William Rushford officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-9 p.m. Sunday at Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan, where a parish vigil will be said at 7 p.m. Sunday.
Baylee Marie Alexandria was born
March 6, 2001, in Bismarck, the daughter of Lyndse and Esad. She was a beautiful baby girl who brought love and happiness to everyone she touched. She liked to cuddle and play peek-a-boo. She will live forever in our hearts and memories.
She is survived by her parents; her big sister, Taylor; her grandparents, Ron and Terri Jochim, and Greg and Sherry Ferderer; her great-grandparents, Adolph and Elsie Dionne, Alex and Emilie Ferderer, Oscar and Gerry Jochim; her great-great-grandmother, Florence Powell; her uncle, Jason; her Auntie Tracy; cousins, Kyle, Louie and Rydell, all of Mandan; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her great-grandparents.
Lunch will follow the services at St. Vincent's Catholic Church, Crown Butte.
Leonard Gruchalla
Leonard E. Gruchalla, 79, Mandan, died April 10, 2001, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Christ the King Catholic Church, Mandan, with the Revs. Albert Leary and John Kuhn officiating. Burial will be in North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, rural Mandan.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today and 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Bismarck Funeral Home, where a rosary and prayer service will begin at 8 p.m. Sunday. Visitation will continue at the church one hour before services.
Leonard was born
Nov. 20, 1921, in Fried, to August and Mary (Wieczorek) Gruchalla. He attended high school in Jamestown and served in the North Dakota National Guard at Jamestown.
Len married
Evelyn Alme in Fried on Feb. 24, 1943, and they farmed at Fried for six years. Later he went to work for Dan Dugan Transport of Jamestown while living in Cleveland. In 1964, Len moved to Mandan to continue working for Dan Dugan until he retired in 1975 because of ill health.
Len enjoyed many activities: fishing, hunting, bowling, golfing, playing cards with friends, and spending time in his garden. Len belonged to the Eagles, Knights of Columbus, and was a member of Christ the King Parish in Mandan.
Len is survived by his wife of 58 years, Evelyn; three sons and daughters-in-law, Terry and Ramona, Jamestown, Robert and Doreen, Minto, and Leonard "Rocky" Jr. and Darlene, Bismarck; four daughters and sons-in-law, Pam and Justin Gartner, Denver, Debbie and Robert Holmberg, Denver, Diana and Dan Nagel, Bismarck, and Kathy and Dan Wagner, Mandan; 18 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one brother, Andrew, Tacoma, Wash.; and one sister-in-law, Mildred Gruchalla, Jamestown.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Sylvester, Al, Edmund and Pete; one sister, Margaret; and his parents.

Barbara McCormick
Barbara McCormick, 74, Bismarck, died April 11, 2001, in a Bismarck hospital. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Bismarck Funeral Home.
Barbara (Schantz) McCormick was born
April 25, 1926, in Mott, to Joseph and Mary Schantz. She was raised and educated in Solen. She married
Lawrence W. McCormick in March of 1948, in Montana.
She worked for the Tracy Public Schools in Tracy, Calif., for many years until she retired in 1995. Barbara and Larry were active in the Tracy Knights of Columbus. She enjoyed cats, crossword puzzles and her many friends.
She is survived by two sisters, Rose Wendt, Sunrise, Fla., and Catherine Ressler, Concord, Calif.; several brothers and sisters-in-law, Mary Schantz, Mandan, Virgil and Mille McCormick, Wing, Mary Ann Agnew, Conrad and Florence Landenberger, Bismarck; and many nieces and nephews.

James Roeder
James A. Roeder, 54, Bismarck, died April 12, 2001, in a Bismarck hospital after a lengthy illness. Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Faith Lutheran Church, Bismarck, with the Revs. Joel Sherer and Clyde Leimberer officiating. Burial will be in North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, rural Mandan.
Visitation will be from 1-9 p.m. today at Boelter Funeral Home, and will continue at the church one hour before services.
James was born
March 10, 1947, in Washburn, the son of Albert and Elsie (Jensen) Roeder. He was raised and educated in Washburn. After graduation in 1965, he joined the U.S. Navy and was stationed aboard the U.S.S. F.D. Roosevelt aircraft carrier. James served ont he U.S.S. Snowden DE246 with his brother, Wyman, and the U.S.S. Conway destroyer.
He married
Sharon Landenberger on June 2, 1968, at the Washburn Baptist Church. They lived in Philadelphia until his discharge from the Navy. James and Sharon moved to Bismarck where they lived for 32 years. James worked at the American Legion Club, and was employed for 24 years with Basin Electric Power Cooperative as a general mechanic.
James was passionate about his family, walleye fishing, hunting and sapphire mining. He enjoyed cooking and baking specialty breads and crafting gifts for family and friends. James was a strong believer in the second amendment and was an active member of the NRA. He was happiest when fishing and hunting with his son, Daniel, and nephew, Joe, and with his friends.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon; his son, Daniel, Bismarck; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Wyman and Linda Roeder, Mandan, and Jeffrey and Karen Roeder, Cottage Grove, Ore.; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Sharon and Jerry Hoffer, Bismarck, Linda and Vince Leuwer, Bismarck, Catherine and Bruce Hoekstra, Grand Forks, and Marilyn and Perry Schuetz, Mandan; one brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Paul and LeNora Folmer, Regan; and his greatly loved nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Neil; and one sister, Janice Folmer.
