Ferdinand Stinar
MOORHEAD, MINN. -- Ferdinand C. "Bud" Stinar, 96, Moorhead, Minn., died March 29, 2001, in a Moorhead care center. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Bottolfson Chapel, Eventide Lutheran Home, Moorhead. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Jamestown.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.

Ferdinand Cornelius Stinar was born icon May 11, 1904, to Jesse and Nellie (Barnhart) Stinar, in New York Mills, Minn. He grew up in Minnesota, and later moved to North Dakota. He married icon Gertrude G. Hunter Feb. 24, 1926, at Fargo, where they made their home until moving to Jamestown in 1937. Bud worked for the Northern Pacific Railway for 47 years as a machinist.

In 1978, they moved to Bismarck. Gertrude died Sept. 5, 1981, after 55 years of marriage. Bud was married icon to Eva Marie (Rehm) O'Neil May 8, 1982, in Bismarck, where they lived for six months until returning to Fargo. Eva died Aug. 11, 1988. Bud remained in Fargo until entering Eventide Lutheran Home, Moorhead, in November 1997. His roommate had been his brother Everett, who died Feb. 16, 2001, at the age of 95.

He is survived by two daughters, Phyllis (Jerry) Stoddart, Bismarck, and Kathleen (Gary) Bubalo, Duluth, Minn.; four sons, Duane (Charlotte) Stinar, Crookston, Minn., Darrel (Mary) Stinar, Mandan, Ron (Rosie) Stinar, West Fargo, and Delbert (Sylvia) Stinar, Orange Park, Fla.; two stepsons, Harry (Bev) O'Neil Jr., Fargo, and Timothy (Leta) O'Neil, Bloomington, Minn.; two stepdaughters, Delores (Olaf) Bjonfald, Bloomington, Minn., and Beverly (Merle) Rivinius, Bismarck; 26 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; 12 step-grandchildren; 16 step-great-grandchildren; two step-great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Melba Gajonera, Seaside, Calif.

Bud will be dearly missed and loved by all of them who knew him to be a wonderful grandfather and an extremely kind person who always looked out for others.

Steven Thorland
Steven L. Thorland, 43, Bellevue, Wash., formerly of Watford City, died March 31, 2001, in a Williston medical center. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at First Lutheran Church, Watford City. Further arrangements are pending with Fulkerson Funeral Home, Watford City.

Anton Wetch
Anton P. Wetch, 80, Bismarck, died March 31, 2001, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at noon Thursday at Church of St. Mary, Bismarck. Further arrangements are pending with Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck.

Marc Bender
Marc S. Bender, 30, Masonville, Colo., died April 2, 2001, in Fort Collins, Colo. Arrangements are pending at Goetz Funeral Home, Washburn.

Bryan Birr
WILLISTON -- Bryan Birr, 48, Williston, died of natural causes, March 30, 2001, in Gillette, Wyo. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Williston, with burial in Riverview Cemetery, Williston.

He is survived by his wife, Debbie; two children, Raelyne, Williston, and Scott, Minot; one grandchild; and two sisters, Noreen Lindell, Plentywood, Mont., and Carol Mihulka, Bismarck. (Everson Funeral Home, Williston)

Barbara Bunk
Barbara Adams Bunk, 90, 1507 First Ave. N.W., Mandan, died April 1, 2001, in a Bismarck hospital of natural causes. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Spirit of Life Catholic Church, Mandan, with the Rev. Cyprian Meier officiating. Burial will be in Mandan Union Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Wednesday at Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan, where a rosary and vigil will begin at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. Visitation will continue at the church one hour before services.

Barbara Fusi was born icon Dec. 24, 1910, in Fort Rice, the daughter of Joseph and Thersia (Nagy) Fusi. Barbara was raised and educated in the Mandan area. She married icon Frank Adams on June 29, 1933, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mandan. Frank died Nov. 22, 1970. She married icon Jack Bunk on Dec. 8, 1974. Jack died in February 1981.

She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Toni Adams, Bozeman, Mont., and Ronald and Yvonne Adams, Prescott, Ariz.; one daughter, Elizabeth Schwindt, and her friend, Ray Stroh, Mandan; 12 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and three sisters, Maggie Renner, Ann Gilman and Elizabeth Baker, all of Mandan.

She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands, Frank Adams and Jack Bunk; and five brothers and three sisters.

William Fetch
BEULAH -- William Fetch, 86, Beulah, died March 31, 2001, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 10 a.m. MDT Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Beulah, with the Rev. Charles Zins officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will begin at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Seibel Funeral Home, Beulah, where a wake service will begin at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

William was born icon Aug. 16, 1914, on a farm south of Beulah, the son of Michael and Katherina (Heier) Fetch. He married icon Barbara Jacob on Nov. 7, 1938, at Napoleon. The couple farmed south of Beulah until retiring from farming in 1976. They moved to Beulah where William worked for the Bank of Beulah for several years. William enjoyed gardening, playing cards, shooting pool, woodworking and tinkering with electronics.

He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church of Beulah. He will be deeply missed by his family and many friends.

Survivors include his wife of more than 62 years, Barbara; two daughters and one son-in-law, Cary Unterseher, Mandan, and Angeline and Jerome Braun, Rogers, Minn.; one son and daughter-in-law, Wilfred and Elaine Fetch, Germantown, Wis.; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one sister and brother-in-law, Genevieve and Eldon Rath, Columbia Falls, Mont.; and two brothers and one sister-in-law, Phillip Fetch, Mandan, and Nick and Lucille Fetch, Bismarck.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Katherina; three brothers, Joseph, Frank and John; and one son-in-law, Allan Unterseher.

Erwin Finck
MOTT -- Erwin Finck, 91, Mott, died April 2, 2001, in the Mott care center. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. MDT Thursday at Zoar Congregational Church, Mott, with burial in Sunnyslope Cemetery, Mott.

He is survived by his wife, Anna; one daughter, Gloria Olson, Bismarck; and two sons, Roy, Spokane, Wash., and Perry, Mott. (Evanson-Jensen Funeral Home, Mott)

Harry Heidt
DICKINSON -- Harry Heidt, 83, Dickinson, died March 31, 2001, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 10 a.m. MDT Friday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Dickinson, with burial in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Dickinson.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; four sons, Jerry, Moxee, Wash., David and Mel, both of Dickinson, and Dennis, Billings, Mont.; four daughters, Shirley Smith, Port Arthur, Texas, Elaine Novotny, Dickinson, Alvina Herauf, Boise, Idaho, and Jackie Gregory, Dickinson; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Ivy Heisler
VELVA -- Ivy Heisler, 58, Velva, died March 31, 2001, in a Minot hospital. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Velva, with burial in Holy Cross Cemetery, Velva.

She is survived by her husband, Eugene; one son, Gene, Velva; one daughter, Amanda Schell, Anamoose; four grandchildren; two brothers, Floyd Wangen, Harvey, and Manley Wangen, Bismarck; and one sister, Helen Hammer, Velva. (Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Velva)

Ewald Jungnitsch
Ewald A. Jungnitsch, 84, Bismarck, died April 1, 2001, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at United Church of Christ, Bismarck, with the Rev. James Moos officiating. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Dawson Cemetery, Dawson.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Wednesday at Eastgate Funeral Service, where a Masonic service will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

Ewald was born icon Dec. 27, 1916, at Tobacco Gardens Creek, in a log shanty, in rural McKenzie County. He was raised in Page, and graduated from North Dakota State School of Science in 1938. He received the Alumnus of the Year award in 1987. He worked for four years with MDU at Beulah, before entering the U.S. Navy in 1942. Ewald served aboard the U.S. Dixie in the South Pacific and attended the reunions regularly for those that served on board.

He married icon Lucille Hoeft on June 29, 1946, in Dawson. They lived in Grand Forks where he worked for the Goodman Company for eight years. They moved to Bismarck in 1954. Ewald worked at and was involved with the start-up of the Amoco Refinery. He retired in 1977 as a supervisor.

He was a member of Masons, Scottish Rite, El Zagal Shrine and American Legion.

He is survived by his wife, Lucille; one sister, Minnie; one brother, A.B. Jungnitsch; his nephews, Daryl Clark, Long Barn, Calif., Donald Clark, Huson, Mont., James Hild, Minneapolis, and Gary Hild, Kansas City, Mo.

The family requests memorials to Dakota Zoological Society or the donor's choice.

Ida Reinhardt
BEULAH -- Ida Reinhardt, 84, Beulah, died April 1, 2001, in a Beulah care center. Services will be held at 10 a.m. MDT Friday at Zion Lutheran Church, Beulah. Further arrangements are pending at Seibel Funeral Home, Beulah.

Helen Schneider
DICKINSON -- Helen Schneider, 89, Dickinson, died April 2, 2001, in the Dickinson hospital. Arrangements are pending at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson.

Sharon Ternes
DICKINSON -- Sharon Ternes, 57, Dickinson, died March 30, 2001, in the Dickinson hospital. Services will be held at 10 a.m. MDT Wednesday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Dickinson, with burial in the church cemetery.

She is survived by five children, Randy, St. Anthony, Dale, Nashville, Tenn., Nadine Onstad, Shelby, Mont., Russell and Dennis, both of Dickinson; one sister, Delila Repnow, Underwood; one brother, Jim Schell, Turtle Lake; and five grandchildren. (Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson)

Steven Thorland
WATFORD CITY -- Steven L. Thorland, 43, Bellevue, Wash., died of natural causes March 31, 2001, in the Williston hospital. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at First Lutheran Church, Watford City, with burial in Schafer Cemetery, Watford City.

He is survived by his wife, Jehan; one son, Eric, Bellevue; his parents, Leslie and Phyllis Thorland, Watford City; three brothers, Mike, Everett, Wash., Miles, Fort Collins, Colo., and Mark, Minot; and two sisters, Barb Austreim and Diane Thorland, both of Williston. Margaret Tuel
Margaret M. Tuel, 84, Bismarck, formerly of Jamestown, died April 2, 2001, in her home. Arrangements are pending at Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown.
