HARVEY -- Howard Keson, 81, Harvey, died April 7, 2001, at his home. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Seventh-Day Adventist Church, Harvey. Burial will be in Sunnyside Cemetery, Harvey.

She is survived by five sons, Vince, Dickinson, Victor and Patrick, both of Riverton, Wyo., Larry, Gilford, N.H., and Eugene, Colesville, Md.; four daughters, Agatha Meier, Mott, Catherine Meier, Lemmon, S.D., Regina Nistler, Devils Lake, and Margie Katus, Watauga, S.D.; 26 grandchildren; and 49 great-grandchildren. Ray Peterson
HETTINGER -- Ray Peterson, 90, Hettinger, died April 9, 2001, in a Hettinger medical center. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Hettinger Lutheran Church. Burial will be in the city cemetery.
He is survived by one son, Ron, Dickinson; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one brother, Harold, Reeder; and one sister, Lucille Wilhelmson, Spring Grove, Minn. (Evanson-Jensen Funeral Home, Hettinger)
Salvida Rostad
CARPIO -- Salvida Emarion Rostad, 91, Carpio, died April 9, 2001, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Carpio Lutheran Church. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Carip.
There will be no reviewal, but friends may sign the register from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.
Salvida was born
Aug. 2, 1909, in Carpio, the daughter of Engvald and Sophie (Johanson) Pederson. She was raised in that area and attended Rostad Country School and Carpio High School.
Salvida married
Halvor O. Rostad in 1928 in Minot. The couple lived and farmed their entire lives in the Carpio area. In 1975 they retired and moved into Carpio. Halvor died in August 1981. Salvida continued to live in Carpio until the time of her death.
Salvida was a member of Carpio Lutheran Church and the Birthday Club. She loved quilting and crocheting and did a lot of craft work.
She is survived by her daughters, Marlyn (Harvey "Woodrow") Anderson, Carpio, and Ilene (Freddie) Freier, Bismarck; her son, Harlan (Dorothy) Rostad, Minot; eight grandchildren, James Anderson, Mark Freier, Susan Clark, Janell Thomas, Dorinda Peterson, Donita Crider, Kenneth Rostad and Kayla Rostad; and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Halvor; one grandson, Jeffery Rostad; her parents; one brother, John Pederson; and one sister, Mildred Palmerson.
Gottlieb Schauer
WISHEK -- Gottlieb Schauer, 77, Wishek, died April 9, 2001, in a Wishek care center. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Wishek Retirement Home. Burial will be in the city cemetery.
He is survived by three brothers, Gideon and Walter, both of Wishek, and Ervin, Jamestown; and one sister, Esther Knoll, Wishek. (Haut Funeral Home, Wishek)
JoAnn Sherman
JoAnn E. Sherman, 62, Sturgis, S.D., died April 9, 2001, at her home. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at United Methodist Church, Sturgis. Burial will be in Bear Butte Cemetery.
She is survived by her husband, Chester; two sons, Chester, Sturgis, and Dale, Whitewood, S.D.; two daughters, Brenda Cannataro, Sturgis, and Anita Miller, Rapid City, S.D.; seven grandchildren; her parents, Rueben and Mary Fischer, Sturgis; two brothers, Dorven Fischer, Herrick, S.D., and Ronald Fischer, Sturgis; and three sisters, Ardene Martin, Florence, Ky., Geraldine Werlinger, Sturgis, and Marilynn Jerome, Clackanas, Ore. Mary Stoller
CARSON -- Mary Stoller, 90, Carson, died April 9, 2001, in a Beulah care center. Services will be held at 10 a.m. MDT Thursday at St. Martin's Catholic Church, Hazen, with the Rev. Charles Zins officiating. Burial will be in Carson.
Visitation will be held from 3 to 8 p.m. MDT today at Seibel Funeral Home, Hazen.
Mary was born
June 29, 1910, to John and Magdalena (Bleiverk) Bahm in Almont. She was raised in the Almont area and educated in an Almont country school. On Jan. 24, 1934, she married
Fred Stoller in Bismarck and they farmed north of Carson until June 1968, when they moved into Carson. Fred passed away in August 1982. In 1998, Mary moved to the Senior Suites in Hazen and in March 2000 she moved to the Knife River Care Center in Beulah.
Mary was a member of the Birthday Club and the Whist Club in Carson. She was also a member of the St. Theresa Altar Society. She loved to dance, play cards and with her friend Hilda loved to put on mock weddings for anniversaries.
Mary will be long remembered for her uplifting spirit and her ever-present smile.
She is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law, John Stoller, Kila, Mont., Bill and Carol Stoller, Great Falls, Mont., and Jack and Pat Stoller, Troy, Mont.; one daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Ron Spiers, Hazen; eight grandchildren, Dale, Havre, Mont., Eddie, Great Falls, Mont., Tami, Seattle, Wash., Karen and Jessie, both of Libby, Mont., Donna, Oklahoma, Becca, Bismarck, and Ryan, Hazen; 11 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mollie Kohler, Glen Ullin, and Barbara Meuchel, Hamilton, Mont.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; one sister, Suzanne Seims; and seven brothers, Joe, Johh, Joe, Peter, Leo, Joe and Frank.

DICKINSON -- Mary Stuss, 96, Dickinson, died April 10, 2001, in a Dickinson care center. Services will be held at 10 a.m. MDT April 17 at St. Demetrius Ukrainian Catholic Church, rural Belfield. Further arrangements are pending with Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson.

Irene L. Wing, 86, Mandan, died April 10, 2001, in Topeka, Kan. Arrangements are pending with Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan.
Elsa Abbott
DAWSON -- Elsa Abbott, 92, Dawson, died March 30, 2001, at her home. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Steele United Methodist Church, Steele, with the Rev. Allen Wagner officiating. Burial will be in Dawson Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday at Eastgate Steele Chapel.
Elsa Lunner was born
Dec. 28, 1908, in McKenzie, the daughter of Charles and Marie Lunner. Elsa's twin sister, Myrtle, passed away in February 2001. They moved to Dawson when Elsa was 11 years old and she graduated from Dawson High School.
After graduating, Elsa married
John Abbott. They farmed south of Dawson for many years. John passed away Jan. 8, 1969. Elsa continued farming until 1988 when she moved to Dawson.
Elsa enjoyed all sports, especially basketball. She was an avid follower of her children's games and tournaments. Her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchild were her greatest joy.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Auriel and Richard Luedtke, Dickinson, and Jean and Robert Schirber, Minneapolis, Minn.; one son and two daughters-in-law, Shelby and Marlys Abbott and Maysil Abbott, all of Dawson; nine grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John; one son, John; and three grandchildren, Sharon Boepple, Mark Abbott and Douglas Abbott.
