Jacob Hahn
Jacob C. Hahn, 24, Kearney, Neb., died Feb. 24, 2001, in Grand Island, Neb., of a heart aneurysm. Services were held Feb. 28 at St. Pauls Lutheran Church, Grand Island, Neb. Burial was in the city cemetery.
He is survived by his parents, Larry and Jacque Hahn, Grand Island; one sister, Kemberly Hammeren, Houston; one brother, Shawn Hammeren, Grand Island; and his grandmothers, Nedra Hahn, Grand Island, and Margaret Hopfauf, Mandan.

LINTON -- Ronald C. Kremer, 76, Linton, died March 6, 2001, in the Linton hospital. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church, Linton. Further arrangements are pending with Myers Funeral Home, Linton.
Eileen McDonald
PIERRE, S.D. -- Eileen McDonald, 76, Pierre, S.D., died Feb. 28, 2001, in a Rapid City, S.D., hospital. Services were held March 6 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Pierre. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery, Pierre.
She is survived by two sons, Bob and Mark, both of Pierre; two daughters, Michele McDonald, Rapid City, S.D., and Karen Shotwell, Knoxville, Tenn.; 12 grandchildren; two brothers, Ron Jacobs, Sisseton, S.D., and Don Jacobs, Wilmer, Minn.; and one sister, Marcian Locker, Houston, Texas. David Nielsen
David G. Nielsen, 64, Waukesha, Wisc., formerly of New Rockford, died Feb. 25, 2001, in a Waukesha hospital. A memorial service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Friday at First Lutheran Church, New Rockford.
David was born
Mar. 15, 1936, in St. Paul, Minn., the son of Neal and Alice Nielsen. He graduated from New Rockford High School and then attended North Dakota Agricultural College in Fargo. He served four years in the U.S. Army during the late fifties.
David spent most of his career in various retail management positions for Target Stores, Marshall Stores and Kohl's Department Stores. Six years ago, David became the Business Manager for St. John's Northwestern Military Academy in Delafield, Wisc. He enjoyed hunting, sports and visits to his home state of North Dakota. His favorite activity was spending time with his family.
He will be sadly missed by his wife of 22 years, Karen; one daughter and son-in-law, Jill and Chris Brundage, Ashtabula, Ohio; one son and daughter-in-law, Erik and Aide, Thousand Oaks, Calif.; one granddaughter, Stephanie Nielsen, Thousand Oaks, Calif.; his mother, Alice Nielsen; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Jackie and Doug Bakken, Muncie, Ind., and Deb and Robert Belquist, New Rockford; one brother and sister-in-law, Roy and Christy, Minneapolis, Minn.; lifelong friend and mother of his children, Delva (Joe) Farrell; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father.
A memorial fund in David's hame has been established to benefit New Rockford High School.
Ida Olson
NEW SALEM -- Ida L. Olson, 101, New Salem, died March 5, 2001, in a New Salem care center. Services will be held at 9:30 a.m. MST Thursday at Peace Church, New Salem, with the Rev. Harley Holden officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 1 to 9 p.m. at Perry Funeral Home, Mandan, and will continue one hour prior to services at the church.
Ida was born
June 21, 1899, at New Salem, to Ferdinand and Charlotte (Neas) Bickel. She was raised and educated in New Salem and was baptized and confirmed in the United Church of Christ, where she had been a life-long member. She sang in the New Salem Church Choir and was active in the church for many years. She worked at Wiegman Mercantile store for several years.
On April 26, 1922, Ida married
Carl H. Rud and they were a part of the Rud Brothers Standard Oil for forty years. Carl died Nov. 6, 1961. On May 27, 1964, she married
Lionel M. Olson. Because of his job, they lived in Greece and Venezuela before retiring in Breckenridge, Minn., in 1967. She became active in the ALC Lutheran Church and Northside Homemakers club. Lionel died Jan. 19, 1979.
In 1980 Ida returned to North Dakota and lived in Flasher at the Fifty-Five Club and later in Mandan with her grandniece, Karen Frank.
Ida was a member of Women's Guild, New Salem Community Club, New Salem Homemakers Club, and was a volunteer in the New Salem sky watch during WWII.
She is survived by one niece, Bernice Miller, Mandan; two grandnieces, Karen Frank, Mandan, and Vangie Voegele, New Salem; Karen's and Vangie's six children and their families; and three stepchildren, Gordon Olson, Marie Schumacher and Duane Olson.
Ida was preceded in death by her husbands, Carl Rud and Lionel Olson; one brother; and three sisters.
Charlotte Pickering
HERREID, S.D. -- Charlotte C. Pickering, 88, Herreid, S.D., died March 5, 2001, in a Mandan hospital. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Herreid Reformed Church, Herreid. Further arrangements are pending with Myers Funeral Home, Linton.
Freida Richter
Freida Helen Richter, 90, Mandan, died March 6, 2001, in a Mandan hospital. A private funeral service will be held. Burial will be in Mandan Union Cemetery.
Freida was born
Jan. 24, 1911, south of Center in Oliver County, the daughter of Richard and Anna (Wolf) Moebius. She was raised and attended rural school in the Center area. She married
Carl Richter in August 1931 in Mandan, where they made their home. Carl died Oct. 24, 1959. Freida continued to live in Mandan where she raised her children. Freida did childcare for many families.
Freida loved her flower gardens, working in her yard and reading. She was a member of Mandan Golden Age Club.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Connie, Jamestown; one daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Henry Haff, Mandan; six grandchildren, Kimberly Richter, Jason Richter, Kristen Richter, Kevin Haff, Jamie Haff and Joshua Haff; and four great-grandchildren, Telsa Lee Haff, Britney Jo Haff, Tyler Haff and Kyra Haff.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl; her parents; and two sisters and brothers-in-law, Martha and Kurt Kunz and Elsie and Joe Huber. (Buehler-Larson Funeral Home, Mandan)

He is survived by his wife, Ida; and one sister, Elsie Benson, Minneapolis.

ZEELAND -- Milbert D. Boschee, 76, Zeeland, died March 7, 2001, in a Bismarck hospital. Arrangements are pending at Dahlstrom Funeral Home, Wishek.
Norman Gebhard

Visitation will be from 1-9 p.m. Friday and until service time Saturday at the funeral home.
Norman was born
July 26, 1915, in Arthur, to Walter and Hattie (Garske) Gebhard. He graduated from Steele High School. As a young man, he farmed south of Steele. He married
Margie Carr in Oakes, on Nov. 24, 1943. He sold the farm in 1958, and moved to St. Anthony. In 1962 he moved to Mandan. He worked for Morton County as a heavy equipment operator until his retirement in 1980.
He loved the outdoors and was an excellent horse trainer. He enjoyed working, riding and training young horses.
He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Dennis Schaner, Renton, Wash.; one son, Gary, Mandan; two sisters, Hazel Kortan, Phoenix, and Myrtle Goettertz, Steele; one brother-in-law, Gene Carr, Redfield, S.D.; and one granddaughter, Keri Schaner.
Norman was preceded in death by his wife; and one sister, Goldie Johnson.
Pius Halter
Pius Halter, 86, Bismarck, died March 6, 2001. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Church of St. Anne, Bismarck, with the Rev. Edwin Wehner officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Bismarck.
Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. today and 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Friday at Eastgate Funeral Service, where a vigil will begin at 7 p.m. Friday.
Pius was born
Dec. 14, 1914, in Odessa, Russia, to Jacob and Katherine (Wagner) Halter. He lived in Odessa in his early life. Pius and Mary Strona were married
Feb. 16, 1939. They were forced from Russia into Germany in 1945, and came to the United States in 1951.
Pius worked various jobs, mainly truck driving ( a love he'd had since age 17). He established Halter Truck Line in 1963. In 1972 he retired and they spent 17 years in Arizona during the winter months.
Pius loved to travel with his motor home and traveled over most of the United States. He was a loving husband of 62 years. Mary and Pius spent many happy hours with friends, fishing, playing cards, bingo and games.
He is survived by his wife, Mary; one sister, Mary Benz, Los Angeles; one sister-in-law, Helen Halter, Bismarck; many nieces and nephews; and grand-nieces and grand-nephews. Pius and Mary had no children of their own, but they had many friends that were just like family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother; and one sister.
