George J. Kramer
NEW SALEM -- George J. Kramer, 91, New Salem, died July 11, 2000, in the New Salem nursing home. Memorial services will be held at 1:30 p.m. MDT Monday at Peace Church, New Salem, with the Rev. Darrel Aleson officiating. George John was born June 25, 1909, on the family farm west of New Salem, the son of Ferdinand and Christiana (Brickl) Kramer Sr. He lived on the farm with his parents until March 13, 1930, when he married Hattie Hoesel. They live on their own farm until 1958 when they moved to New Salem. He worked for the Gamble Store and then for the Cenex Station until his retirement. George enjoyed playing cards and fishing. He also enjoyed a few games of pool with his friends. George is survived by his wife of 70 years, Hattie; two daughters and sons-in-law, Dolores and Wilbur Kemmesat, Mandan, and Carol and Joe Huber, Locust Grove, Va.; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Robert and Marilyn, Fargo, Donald and Darlene, New Salem, and Duane, Deer River, Minn.; 13 grandchildren, Shellie Smette, Dennis Kemmesat, Nancy Tisor, Karen Dukart, Susan Rauser, Paul Kramer, James Kramer, Alan Kramer, Kevin Kramer, Joanne Schafer, Marlys Steckler, Shawna Ellis and Todd Kramer; 19 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one sister, Clara Hoesel; and one sister-in-law, Edna Kramer, both of New Salem. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Ferdinand and Edward; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Christine and Carl Kiesel, Margaret and Arthur Hoesel, Fredia Kramer and Herbert Kramer. Irene Smith
SANGER -- Irene Smith, 72, Sanger, died July 14, 2000, in her home at Pretty Point Farm. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Mandan, with the Rev. Patrick Schumacher officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Sanger Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday at Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan, where a rosary and vigil service will begin at 7 p.m. Monday. Irene was born June 22, 1928, in Bottineau, to John and Catherine (Cadotte) DeCoteau. She was raised and educated in the Fort Yates area. On May 28, 1949, she married Glen L. Smith in Center. They lived together in Mandan for 30 years, then moved to Pretty Point Farm. Irene went to school to become a histologic technician. She worked as a histologic technician at St. Alexius Hospital, where she retired after 30 years of dedicated service. Irene loved looking for arrowheads and other relics. She enjoyed the outdoors doing such things as gardening and fishing. She loved spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Glen; two sons, Daniel, Bismarck, and Robert Keith, Ypsilanti; two daughters and sons-in-law, Cathy and Richard Rooker, Bismarck, and Jackie and Greg Anderson, Fargo; her grandchildren, Barb and Jim Eckroth, Jeremy, Suzie, Candace and Crystal Olzweski, Kelly Keith-Miller, Derek Miller, Brandy and Robert Keith; one great-grandchild, Zachariah Eckroth; two brothers-in-law, Rudy George and Wes Keith; and three sisters-in-law, Bernice Risch, Hazel Risch and Beverly Smith, all of Bismarck. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Catherine DeCoteau; her sisters, Helen George, Blanche Little Soldier and Margaret Keith; and her brother, John DeCoteau. We all love and will miss you.

Jerome "Jerry" William Trusty, 50, died July 13, 2000, in Cumming, Ga., after a long illness. A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Monday at Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck, with the Rev. Darrel Aleson officiating. Jerry was born Oct. 5, 1949, in Bismarck. He graduated from Bismarck High School in 1967. Jerry is survived by his wife, Debbie Asbridge Trusty; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Robert and Julie Trusty, San Diego, Calif., and Christopher, Cumming; his dear mother, Elsie Trusty, Bismarck; four brothers and three sisters-in-law, Milo and Vicki Trusty, Bismarck, Mike and Barbie Trusty, Riverside, Calif., Robert Trusty, Bismarck, and Barry and Josie Trusty, Hollywood, Fla.; one sister and brother-in-law, Sharon and John Horott, Las Vegas; Grandma Trusty, Harmony, Minn.; his mother-in-law, Cleo Asbridge, Bismarck; one brother-in-law, Doug Asbridge, Bismarck; one sister-in-law, Darcy Bartz, Oregon; Grandma Lenihan, Bismarck; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, William and Ida Suess; his father, Gordon Trusty; two nieces, Katie Trusty and Kylo Colling; and his father-in-law, Ruehl Asbridge.

MARTIN -- Adam Werth, 82, Martin, died July 13, 2000, in the Harvey hospital. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Seventh-day Adventist Church, Harvey, with burial in Sunnyside Cemetery, Harvey. He is survived by his wife, Gladys; two brothers, Art, Lehr, and Richard, Wishek; and two sisters, Rose Miller and Barbara Diede, both of Jamestown.
Ottilia Jochim
Ottilia "Tillie" Jochim, 86, Bismarck, died July 10, 2000 in a Bismarck care center. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Church of St. Anne, Bismarck, with the Rev. Ed Wehner officiating. Burial will be held at St. Mary's Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1-9 p.m. today at Bismarck Funeral Home, where an Eagles Auxiliary ritual will begin at 7:30 p.m., followed by a rosary at 8 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Tillie was born on Oct. 30, 1913 the daughter of Anton and Rosalie (Hager) Schwahn in Strasburg. She married Albert P. Jochim on Oct. 31, 1932 in Strasburg where they farmed for 32 years. They moved to Bismarck in 1968, where Tillie worked for the Baptist Home and ARC Thrift Store until her retirement. Tillie enjoyed playing cards with friends and family. She also enjoyed visiting with family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Tillie entered St. Vincent's Care Center on Oct. 8, 1998. Tillie is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Ed and Evelyn Jochim, Bismarck, Albert and Darlene, Edgeley; one daughter, Tillie Jochim and special friend, Carl Brown, Bismarck; one sister, Cecilia Paul, Bismarck; two sisters-in-law, Katie Schwahn, Bismarck, and Rosemary Schwahn, Strasburg; one brother-in-law, Joe Jochim, Michigan; her grandchildren, Karen La Chapelle, Deb and Ron Hintz, Gary and Pam Jochim, Tammy and Chris Nelson, Tony Jochim, Tom and Sigrid Jochim, Melissa Jochim and special friend, Scott Buechler, Don Jochim; eight great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Agatha Mitzel. Charles L. Anderson
Charles L. Anderson, 65, Bismarck, died July 11, 2000 in a local care center. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Evangel Temple with the Rev. Dave Sjostrom officiating. Burial will be in North Dakota Veterans' Cemetery, Mandan. Visitation will be from 2-9 p.m. Sunday at Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck and one hour prior to the service at the church. Charles L. Anderson was born Sept. 2, 1934 at Hallock, Minn., the son of Clarence and Mildred (Norum) Anderson. He was educated at Mott. He joined the Navy on Aug. 5, 1953 and served in Japan. Following his discharge he returned to Mott. While roller-skating, on a blind date, with Marliss Otto, he swept her off her feet; and they were married Aug. 17, 1958 at Peace Evangelical Church south of Elgin. They moved to Bismarck in the early 1960's and he received training to get his plumbing license and pipe-fitters certification. He joined local 795 pipefitters and plumber's union in 1965. He worked for H.A. Thompson and Sons during his apprenticeship and various companies through union placement. He retired in 1990 following heart problems. Charles strove to achieve Christian values. He was a great father, firm and loving, and his sons respected him highly. He loved children and was very patriotic. He cherished his puppy, Mitzi Panda. He was a sports fan and enjoyed camping, fishing, board games and cards. He was a member of New Song Community Church. He worked with Royal Rangers through Bethel Assembly where he taught Sunday School. He is survived by his devoted wife, Marliss; two sons and daughters-in-law, Marlyn and Mary Anderson, Ostego, Minn., and Kevin and Sandi Anderson, Lexington, Ky.; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Ruth and Ed Otto, Mandan; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Mavis and Harold Fuchs, Couer d'Alene, Idaho, Diane and Irvin Hartman, Spearfish, S.D., and Lois and Perry Miller, North Bend, Wash.; seven nephews and two nieces.
