Wade Davis
BELCOURT -- Wade E. Davis, 42, Belcourt, died Feb. 22, 2000, in the Mandan hospital. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Belcourt. Burial will be in St. Ann's Catholic Cemetery, Belcourt.
He is survived by his wife, Debe, Mandan; two sons, Jesse, Bismarck, and Jordan, Belcourt; two grandchildren; his mother, Caroline Davis, Belcourt; his father, Francis Davis, Belcourt; and two sisters, Marla Davis and Rebecca Bless, both of Belcourt. (Keplin Funeral Home, Rolette)
Norman Fuchs
ZAP -- Norman R. Fuchs, 76, Zap, died Feb. 23, 2000, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 2 p.m. MST Monday, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Zap, with the Rev. Walt Wolff officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Tim Kaffar, Clarence Olszewski, Matt Craig, Thomas Zahn, Thad Zahn and Jerome Aune.
Visitation will be from 3:30 to 8 p.m. MST Sunday, at Seibel Funeral Home, Beulah. Norman was born June 5, 1923 at Richardton, a son of Samuel and Magdalena (Walth) Fuchs. He was raised and educated there. In December 1944, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in the Philippines until receiving his honorable discharge on Nov. 29, 1946. On Oct. 19, 1947 he married Hulda Sailer at Zap.
Norman served as Postmaster at Zap from 1956 to 1985, a total of more than 28 years. He was a very active member of the community and served as mayor of Zap for four years. He was a lifetime member of the Zap Gun Club and was inducted into the N.D. Trapshooting Hall of Fame in 1994. Norman served on the Zap School Board for one term and was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Zap. He enjoyed playing cards, fishing and hunting. He helped his son-in-law and daughter with their outfitting and guiding business in Idaho for 10 years after his retirement.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 53 years, Hulda; four daughters and sons-in-law, Nona and Les Schulz, Yakima, Wash., Gail and Tim Craig, Peck, Idaho, Susan and Dale Schaff, Wamego, Kan., and Kristine and Steve Bookman, Cincinnati, Ohio; two sons, Perry and Carol Fuchs, Evansville, Ind., and Sam Fuchs and his special friend, Janice Hill, both of Deary, Idaho; six grandchildren, Nikki Dohrman, Jessica Schulz, Matt Craig, Kelly Schaff, Jacob Fuchs and Judd Fuchs; two great-grandchildren; Kylie and Nathan Dohrman; one brother, Eugene and Sally Fuchs, Minot; and one sister, Laura and Elmer Gustafson, Dickinson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Arnold; and one sister, Charlene Huber.

WILDROSE -- Clifford E. Haugen, 79, Wildrose, formerly of Hamlet, died Feb. 24, 2000, in the Tioga care center. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, at Alliance Gospel Chapel, Wildrose. Burial will be in Trinity Cemetery, Hamlet.

John Huseby
John T. Huseby, 89, Crookston, Minn., formerly of East Grand Forks, Minn., died Feb. 23, 2000, in a Crookston nursing home. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. today, at the Mendenhall Presbyterian Church, East Grand Forks. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery, East Grand Forks.

Martha Axt, 91, Bismarck, died Feb. 5, 2000 in a Bismarck care center. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, at Seventh-day Adventist Church. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck. MOTT -- William "Bill" Fisher, 46, Mott, died Feb. 4, 2000 in the Hettinger hospital of cancer. John J. Johs
John J. Johs, 79, Bismarck, formerly of Napoleon, died peacefully Feb. 6, 2000 at his home. Services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, at Church of St. Anne, Bismarck, with the Rev. Ed Wehner officiating. Burial will be at 4:30 p.m. at St. Anthony Cemetery, Napoleon. Visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. today and 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesday, both at Eastgate Funeral Service, and 6-9 p.m. Tuesday at Church of St. Anne, with a vigil service and KC rosary said at 7 p.m. at the church. John was born Oct. 6, 1920 in Logan County, the son of John and Johanna (Schwartzenberger) Johs. He grew up on the family farm and received his elementary education in Weigel Township. In the late 1930's, he worked for the National Youth Administration. He continued to live and farm with his family. On Oct. 30, 1944, he married Ann Gefre at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in rural Hague. They lived on the family farm southwest of Napoleon. John served on the school board for Weigel Township and was a local field representative for the Agricultural Stabilization Conservation Service. In 1973, John and Ann moved to Bismarck where he was employed with the Knights of Columbus and later at Montgomery Ward and Taxi 9000. He also worked with his son, George, as a carpenter, and with his sons-in-law, Allen and Leonard, in their construction company. He was President of the St. Anthony's Farmers Union in rural Napoleon, and was a member of the Knights of Columbus since 1945, the Eagles Club, and St. Anne's Catholic Church. Until recently, he and his wife, Ann, managed to take a yearly vacation trip. He spent most of the last 25 years enjoying his grandchildren and was always a willing baby-sitter. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Ann; one son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Shirley, Bismarck; six daughters and sons-in-law, Florence and Frank Wangler, Kintyre, Helen and Leonard Berger, Bernie and Allen Huber, Shirlene and Scott Schafer, Carleen and Dan Scherr, all of Bismarck, and JoAnn and Robert Jordan, Des Moines, Iowa; 17 grandchildren, Troy, Darrin and Robin, Lori and Bryan, Cheryl, Kristi, Cleo, Miranda, Ryan, Derek, Brandon, Jason, Tyler, Layne and twins, John and Jay; four great-grandchildren, Kylie, Dylan, Aisha and Brady; two brothers and two sisters-in-law, Andrwe Johs, Adam and Sally Johs, all of Napoleon, and Elizabeth Johs, Bismarck; and two sisters and one brother-in-law, Mary Weigel and Johanna and Anton Horner, all of Napoleon. NEW SALEM -- Ethel Just, 76, New Salem, died Feb. 4, 2000 in the New Salem nursing home. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. MST Wednesday, at Peace Church, New Salem. Burial will be in Peace Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. MST Tuesday at Elm Crest Nursing Home, and continue after 4 p.m. MST at Buehler-Larson Funeral Home, New Salem. Visitation will continue for one hour prior to the service at the church. Ethel was born on Jan. 19, 1924 in New Salem, the daughter of Max and Alma (Walde) Just. A resident of New Salem for all of her life, Ethel had been a resident of Elm Crest Nursing Home since 1982. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Carlene Just, New Salem, four grandchildren and their spouses, Charlotte and Mitchell Erhardt, Honolulu, Hawaii, Candi and Stuart Glass, Lisco, Neb., James and Rebecca Just, Sandpoint, Idaho, and Joel and Kristen Just, Minot; five great-grandchildren, Patricia and Travis Erhardt, Taylor Just, Bradyn Just and Brooke Just; two sisters, Ella Schroeder and her husband, Robert, and Erna Blend, all of New Salem; and her brother, Albert Just, New Salem. Wilmer P. Lang
Wilmer P. Lang, 84, Bismarck, died Feb. 4, 2000 in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Jeff Tengesdal officiating. Burial will be in North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, rural Mandan. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, at Bismarck Funeral Home, and for one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Wilmer was born on Feb. 2, 1916, the son of Carl and Magdalena (Rott) Lang in Denhoff and attended school in McClusky. He served in the Civilian Conservation Corps. Wilmer attended Portland Poly Tech and worked in the Oregon shipyards until entering the US Army on May 7, 1945, with service at Fort Lewis, Wash. After being discharged in 1946, he lived in Portland, Ore. In 1947, he moved to Riverdale, where he was employed by the US Army Corps of Engineers as Maintenance Foreman for 33 years. He was a charter member and twice Commander of the American Legion, Thomas O. Williams Post No. 281 at Riverdale, and served as Fifth District Commander in 1963. He married Audrey Lee on April 18, 1970 at Washburn. They retired to Bismarck in September of 1979. He was a life member of the American Legion, Bismarck Elks, Bismarck Eagles and was also a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Amvets and NARFE. He is survived by his wife, Audrey; two sons, Gary and wife, Betty Lee, Minot, and George "Bud" Lee, Burbank, Calif.; one daughter, Kim Lee, St. Paul, Minn.; two granddaughters, Karen and husband Paul Prout, Wahpeton, and Linda Lee, Minot; four sisters, ElVerna DuVall, Azalea, Ore., Lillian and Wes Miller, Bernyce Koenig, all of Las Vegas, Nev., and Florence and Al Jesser, Bozeman, Mont.; two brothers, Warren and Martha Lang, Minot, and Jack and Hazel Lang, Jacksonville, Fla. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Clara Olson; two brothers, George and Harris; and two sisters, Olivia Helm and Eunice Klimpel. (Bismarck Funeral Home)

Frieda Sofia Reiner
Frieda Sofia Reiner, 85, died Feb. 4, 2000 in the Devils Lake hospital following a short illness. Services will be held at 10 a.m. MST Tuesday, at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Hazen, with the Revs. David Suelzle and Timothy Jenks officiating. Burial will be in St. Matthew's Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. MST today at Seibel Funeral Home, Hazen. Serving as pallbearers will be David Reiner, Luke Reiner, Shane Reiner, Wendy Reiner, Cindy Reiner, Shawna Reiner, Holly Reiner, Krista Reiner and Erin Reiner. Frieda Reiner was born July 5, 1914 at Marshal, the second child of Karl and Magdalene (Daffee) Bauer. She was raised and educated in the Golden Valley/Dodge area. She married Fred Reiner at St. Paul Lutheran Church, at Otter Creek. They farmed for a year in Otter Creek before purchasing the General Store in Otter Creek. They moved to Zap in 1941, where they operated a general store until 1968 when they moved to Hazen. Frieda moved to Bismarck in 1983, a year or so after Fred died. Frieda was an excellent Christian example for her children, an accomplished seamstress, crocheter and a very devoted wife and mother. She is survived by four sons and daughters-in-law, Ken and Darlene; Myron and Jeraldine; Don and Marilynne; and Tim and Patty; 10 grandchildren, Luke and Devonna Reiner, Sharon and Jon Oetting, David and Tracy Reiner, Wendy, Cindy, Shawna, Shane, Holly, Krista and Erin; five great-grandchildren, Rachael, Joel and Anna Oetting, Holly and Heather Reiner, and Tressa Reiner; two brothers, Eugene and Kate bauer, Albert and Dorothy Bauer; three sisters, Magdelina Synstegard, Pauline Siler, and Connie and Bob Hagen; and in-laws, Ray and Ruby Reiner, Hulda Reiner, Lilly Flemmer, and Ida Lechner. Frieda was preceded in death by her parents; an infant daughter; her husband, Fred; and three sisters, Bertha Heinz, Malitta Schroeder, Esther Miller and Irene Bauer (Albert's first wife). Memorials may be given in her memory to LCMS World Mission, 1333 S. Kirkwood Road; St. Louis, Mo., 63122 or given to Ken, Mike, Don or Tim who will forward the gift on to LCMS World Mission.
