Mary Knoll, 89, Bismarck, died Feb. 2, 2000, in a Bismarck nursing home. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Church of Corpus Christi, Bismarck. Further arrangements are pending at Boelter Funeral Home.
Earl J. Krebsbach
Earl J. Krebsbach, 92, Bismarck Baptist Home, died Feb. 3, 2000, in the care center. Memorial services will be held at noon Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Bismarck, with the Rev. Charlie Heidt officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Bismarck, at a later date. A prayer service will begin at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at Perry Funeral Home, Mandan. Earl was born March 17, 1907, at Max, to Joseph and Montana (Hall) Krebsbach. He attended St. Nickolaus School at Garrison. He married Montana Johnson in Wilton, on June 17, 1936. Earl worked in various capacities at the McLean County Courthouse, at one time serving as McLean County Treasurer. He also worked as a bricklayer many years in both Washburn and Bismarck. Earl loved to box, and in his later years enjoyed watching boxing on television. He enjoyed woodworking, loved singing and listening to music, and was an avid pool player. Earl is survived by five daughters and four sons-in-law, Billigean and Joe Eckert, Verla and Ron Voller, and Barbara and Dan Klinger, all of Bismarck, Sister JoAnn Krebsbach, Annunciation Monastery, and Candace and Michael Jefferies, Anchorage, Alaska; nine sons and eight daughters-in-law, Sig, Minot, Earl "Butch" and Carol, Renton, Wash., Terry and Donna, and Ron and Susan, all of Vancouver, Wash., Pat and JoAnn, Mandan, Tom and Gay, Bismarck, Mike and Arlene, Nixa, Miss., Mark and Krystal, Minot, and Greg and Heidi, Billingham, Wash.; three sisters, Alma Johnson, Mott, Audrey Johnson, Washburn, and Florence Johnson, Sheridan, Wyo.; 30 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Montana; an infant son, Charles; two brothers, Joe and LeRoy; and three sisters, Rose, Ione and Elda.
Dolores J. Matchie
Dolores J. Matchie, 68, died Jan. 30, 2000, in Wausau, Wis. She ws born in Bismarck on Dec. 20, 1931, to Almond and Myrtle (Peterson) Vendsel. She attended Bismarck High School and was confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church. She married James T. Matchie on July 13, 1951, in Valdosta, Ga. She loved family, friends, laughter, music and camping in the pines. She is survived by her husband, Jim; one daughter and son-in-law, Pamela and Mark Thiede, Edina, Minn.; three grandchildren, Meghan, Nicholas and Erika; sisters and brothers-in-law; nieces and nephews; cousins; and a heart full of precious friends. Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, Minneapolis. Private interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Jamestown. Memorials will be donated in her name to Wisconsin's Big Eau Pleine County Park.
Ellen Marie (Merrill) Parson
Ellen Marie (Merrill) Wood Parson, 74, Bismarck, died Feb. 2, 2000, in a Bismarck hospital. Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot, with burial in Lakeview Cemetery, Kenmare. She is survived by one daughter, Jackie Oss, Aberdeen, S.D.; three sons, Joel Wood, Hazen, and Jan and Jerel Wood, both of Corpus Christi, Texas; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Jeanette Feldner; and one brother, Neal Merrill.

DICKINSON -- Patrick Sandy, 54, Dickinson, died Feb. 1, 2000, in the Dickinson hospital. Burial will be at 1 p.m. today in North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, rural Mandan. Peter A. Zacher
STRASBURG -- Peter A. Zacher, 54, Strasburg, died Feb. 1, 2000, in the Linton hospital. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. today at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Strasburg, with burial in the church cemetery. He is survived by his two sons, Peter and Tony, both of Minneapolis; his parents, Aloysius and Marianna Zacher, Strasburg; four brothers, Richard, Lincoln, Charles and Ken, both of Strasburg, and Herman, Lincoln; and four sisters, Lucy DuFrame, Lincoln, Clara Hubin, Littleton, Colo., Sally Zacher, Strasburg, and Viola Bullert, Mandan. Esther Felton
Esther Felton, 89, former resident of Burleigh County, died Feb. 23, 2000 in Hayward, Calif., where she had lived since October of last year. Services will be held in Texas and California. Esther Bates was born on a farm near Arena to Lonnie and Elizabeth (Mattson) Bates on Oct. 2, 1910. She attended high school in Bismarck and married Arlie Felton in 1930. For many years, they lived in Wing, where her husband was a John Deere dealer. In the late 1950's, they moved to Bismarck where Mrs. Felton served as a Grey Lady volunteer in nursing homes. In 1968, they began spending the winter months in Arizona, where they later moved. In 1984, they moved to Arlington, Texas, to be close to two of their sons, and Arlie died there in 1988.
Esther was preceded in death by her husband, Arlie, and one son, Stanley; and her brothers, Walter, Henry, George, Hugh, Hyram, Ralph and John. She is survived by her sister, Alice, and her brother, Fred. She is also survived by her four sons, Duane, Gerald, Ron and Allen; 11 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson.
Esther enjoyed playing cards, especially bridge, with her friends in Texas. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

WILLISTON -- Jolene Hovda, 49, Williston, died Feb. 25, 2000 in a Minot hospital. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, at Our Redeemer's Lutheran Church, Williston, with burial in Riverview Cemetery. BOWMAN -- Edith D. Austin Juntti, 90, Bowman, died Feb. 27, 2000 in a Bowman care center. She is survived by one daughter, Betty Holman, Marmarth; two sons, Larry Austin, Baker, Mont., and Doug Austin, Rapid City, S.D.; one sister, Florence Waller, Bowman; 20 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Stella Kendall
Stella M. Kendall, 88, Bismarck, and formerly of Moffit, died Feb. 24, 2000 at her home. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, at Bismarck Funeral Home, with the Rev. Duey Heid officiating. Burial will be in Moffit Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1-6 p.m. Wednesday, at Bismarck Funeral Home, and for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Stella was born in Dell Rapids, S.D. on Dec. 12, 1911. At the age of four, her father passed away and at the age of seven, her mom, two sisters and one brother moved to Moffit. They lived with her grandfather, Andrew Thompson on a farm southwest of Moffit, later moving into Moffit.
Stella as a young girl worked for several farmers helping with the cooking at Harvesting time. On Jan. 7, 1933, she married Allen (Babe) Kendall in Bismarck. Stella belonged to the Moffit Mothers Club for several years. They lived in Moffit until Babe's retirement in 1966 when they moved to Bismarck. They spent the next few winters in Seattle, Wash. with their son and daughter. They moved into Community Homes (Washington Court) in 1972 and Stella lived there for 25 years. Then she moved to an apartment on Divide Avenue to be close to her son, Roger, who at the time had cancer.
Stella loved crocheting and made quilts and afghans for all her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was loved very much and will be missed very much by her family. She is survived by one son and two daughters-in-law, Edward and Margaret Kendall, Minot, and Darlene Kendall, Bismarck; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Margie Nieland, Bismarck, Verlyn and Melvin Bauer, Mandan, and Verna and Dwain Payne, Moreland, Idaho; 15 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren; and two special friends, Helen Sicbel and Ella Bertsch.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Allen (Babe) Kendall, one son, Roger Kendall, two sons-in-law, Roger Nieland and James Freir, one great-granddaughter, Bailey; and two brothers and three sisters. (Bismarck Funeral Home)
Minnie Kinslow

Ronald Meldahl
Ronald Eliot Meldahl, 62, Mandan, died Feb. 26, 2000 at his home. A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, at HIT Inc., 1402 Second St. NW, Mandan.
Ron was born June 22, 1938 to Helen and Lawrence Meldahl in Valley City. Ron lived at home with his family as a young child in Valley City, until his admission to Grafton Developmental Center in April 1946. In September 1989, Ron moved to Mandan into Terra Vallee Group Home operated by HIT Inc., where he had opportunities to enjoy and participate in community life and build new friendships. He attended the HIT Inc. Day Activities Program. Ron enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. He had a good sense of humor and loved to give and receive affection from others. He loved children and animals. Ron's favorite activities were to spend time with his friends, watching people, spending time outside, action movies and an avid wrestling fan. Ron had many close and very special relationships with the people in his life and will be greatly missed.
Ron is survived by one sister and brother-in-law, Beverly and Warren Loendorf, Laramie, Wyo.; and five nieces and one nephew.
