Mary Kinter
EDGELEY -- Mary Kinter, 99, Minneapolis, formerly of Edgeley, died Oct. 13, 2000, in Minneapolis. Services will be held at 1 p.m. today at United Presbyterian Church, Edgeley, with burial in Rosehill Cemetery, LaMoure. Visitation will be held at the church one hour before services. Mary Helen Kinter was born Feb. 7, 1901, at LaMoure, the daughter of Joseph and Augusta (Anderson) Kinter. She was raised at LaMoure and graduated from LaMoure High School. Mary attended the University of North Dakota and secretarial school in Fargo. As a young woman she worked for the LaMoure County Superintendent of Schools, Jessie Schmoker. When her mother needed help following hip surgery she became her caregiver. In 1958, she and her mother moved to Edgeley where Mary cared for her mother and her school age sisters. Mary was a lifelong member of the Presbyterian Church and a member of the Ladies Aid. She is survived by two nieces and their spouses, Carol and Milt Hertz, Mott, and Kay and Hugh Fahy, Albuquerque, N.M.; three nephews and their spouses, H.R. "Bud" and Donna Ormiston, Elbow Lake, Minn., Charles and Ruth Ormiston, St. Paul, Minn., and Lee and Pamela Ormiston, Minneapolis; her grandnieces, Sidney Fiergola, Mikki Kjelvik, Heather Hertz, Elizabeth Firman, Hannah Ormiston, Gloria Ormiston, Sarah Ormiston and Anne Ormiston; her grandnephews, Shane Hertz, Scott Kyelvik, Karsten Ormiston, Jason Ormiston, Aaron Ormiston; 10 great-grand-nieces and great-grand-nephews; and a number of cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; and one sister, Josephine. Mary was devoted to her grandnieces and grandnephews. They all remember fondly the chocolate cookies she baked for them and the birthday cards she faithfully sent on each birthday.

CENTER -- Anna E. Kitzmann, 82, Center, died Oct. 15, 2000, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Hannover, with burial in Hannover Cemetery. She is survived by two sons, James and Jerome, both of Hannover; one daughter, Edana Kitzmann, Minot; five grandsons; two step-granddaughters; two great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Bertha Bluder, Round Lake Park, Ill. She is survived by her husband, Erwin; two sons, James Sigman, Hazen, and Marvin, Beulah; two daughters, Lila Bosch, Bismarck, and Wally Mae Snyder, Sagle, Idaho; one stepson, Dan Krause, Portland, Ore.; one stepdaughter, Shirley Storm, Portland, Ore.; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

NEW TOWN -- Jalen DeAngelo Lee, the infant son of Michelle Lee and Colter Bruce, died Oct. 13, 2000, in a Minot hospital. Services will be held at 2 p.m. today at Bethel Lutheran Church, New Town, with burial in Grand Valley Cemetery, New Town. He is survived by his parents; his grandparents, Alan and Debbie Lee, New Town; and his great-grandparents, Roger and Marian Anderson, New Town, and Etheline Stevenson, New Town. A. B. Sandau
HAZEN -- A. B. Sandau, 80, Bismarck, formerly of Hazen, died Oct. 13, 2000, in a Bismarck care center. Services will be held at 2 p.m. MDT Wednesday at at Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center Chapel, Bismarck, with the Rev. Dale V. Nabben officiating. Burial will be in North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, rural Mandan. Born in Beulah on April 5, 1920, Mr. Sandau resided from the late 1940's to 1996, in Hazen. During the last two decades of his life, he managed coal yard operations, first at the Basin Electric Power Cooperative plant at Stanton, and then at Basin's plant in Beulah. Prior to that, his work was typical of men of his generation and place. He worked in his youth on his father's farm and then as a coal miner. During his teen years, he was a firefighter in the Kings Canyon National Forest in California. During World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy, with assignments in Saipan and Guam. After the war, he worked as an automotive repairman in Hazen until his employment with Basin Electric. During his long residence in Hazen, he was an active member of Peace Lutheran Church, where he served two terms as church president, several on the church council, and continuously on committees. He also served for one year as the president of the Beulah Eagles Club Aerie. His wife, Tillie (Schield) Sandau, preceded him in death. They were married 54 years. He is survived by his sons and daughter-in-law, Al and Dianne, and Jerry; one grandson, Alan, and his wife, Kristin; one great-granddaughter, Alaina Marie; one sister, Annabelle Crowley; and brothers, Clifford, Harvey, Clayton, Vernon, LeRoy and Gordon. Preceding him in death were three sisters, Ella Doll, Frieda Wagner and Vernice Buchman. The family asks that those wishing to make memorial gifts convey them to the charity of their choice. HETTINGER -- Sophie Archibald, 91, Hettinger, died Oct. 14, 2000 in the Hettinger care center. Services will be held at 2 p.m. MDT Friday, at Hettinger Lutheran Church, with burial in Lodgepole Cemetery. She is survived by three sons, Lowell, Seattle, Wash., Don, rural Lemmon, S.D., and C.W., rural Hettinger; nine grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and two sisters, Inga Archibald and Bergetta Lysne, both of Hettinger. Anton H. Bosch
Anton "Tony" H. Bosch, 64, Linton, died Oct. 15, 2000 in a Rochester, Minn., hospiutal. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Linton, with the Revs. Frank Schuster and Bruce Krebs. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 1-9 p.m. today, and 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Thursday, both at Myers Funeral Home, Linton, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home. Visitation will continue for one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Anton "Tony" H. Bosch was born on Oct. 9, 1936 on a farm 11 miles east of Linton, the son of Joseph W. and Helen (Bosch) Bosch. He attended a rural school. Tony farmed with his father. On Nov. 4, 1957, he married Bernardine "Bernie" Hulm at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Hague, and they continued to live on the Bosch Family farm until 1960 when they moved into Linton. Tony worked as a lineman for K.E.M. for seven years. He also worked as the city auditor before going into partnership with Ron Schumacher at T and R Warehouse Foods in 1977. In 1987, he sold his interest in the store. Tony continued farming until 1998, when he retired. He was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church and served his church on the church council. He was also a member of the Linton Chamber of Commerce, Knights of Columbus, Snogoer's Snowmobile Club, Emmons County Wildlife Club. Tony enjoyed auction sales, bowling, hunting, fishing and wood crafts. Grateful to have shared his life are his wife, Berardine, Linton; two daughters and one son-in-law, Doris Nagel, Bismarck, and Debbie and Joe Kalberer, Hazelton; six grandchildren, Stephanie, Brittney and Christa Nagel, and Katelyn, Tyrell and Karlee Kalbererr; two brothers and sisters-in-law, George and Irene Bosch, Bismarck, and Ray and Rose Bosch, Linton; and one sister and two brothers-in-law, Marie and Clem Simmon, Bismarck, and Joe Klein, Zeeland. Rose Magdeline Dassinger
Rose Magdeline Dassinger, 80, Livingston, Mont., died Oct. 16, 2000 in a Big Timber hospital. Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. MDT today at Franzen-Davis Funeral Home, Livingston, with the Rev. Tom Schleder officiating. A second service will be held at 10 a.m. MDT Friday at St. Thomas Catholic Church, Gladstone, with the Rev. Lawrence Wagner, O.S.B., officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Rose was born Feb. 24, 1909 in New England, the daughter of Frank and Margaret (Herberholz) Gyolai. After attending school in North Dakota, she lived for a time in Wisconsin and worked with her cousins. Shel ater returned to New England, where she was employed by a local physician. On June 13, 1940, she married Frank L. Dassinger in Lefor. They moved to Ypsilanti, Mich., where Mr. Dassinger was employed as a machinist in a bomber plant during World War II. After living in various other locations, they moved to Bismarck in 1957, to Laurel, Mont. in 1973 and to Livingston, Mont., in 1978 where Mr. Dassinger was employed as a machinist with the railroad. Mr. Dassinger died on Nov. 27, 1992. Rose was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. She greatly loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed German music, loved to dance and enjoyed gardening and sewing. Rose was also a breast cancer survivor of 26 years, become free of that illness in 1974. Survivors include three sons, Robert and Mary, Lynnwood, Wash., Richard and Jean, Cambridge, Minn., and Ronald and Ann, Topeka, Kan.; five daughters, Carol and Leo Hilzendeger, Yakima, Wash., Shirley and Randy Hansen, Glendive, Mont., Marie and Larry Hart, Laurel, Mont., Marlene "Molly" and Roger "Butch" Jones, Livingston, and Karen Walker, Puyallup, Wash.; two brothers, John and Bernice Gyolai, New England, and Matt and Doris Gyolai, Waterbury, Conn.; three sisters, Katie Gartner, New England, Marge and Bernice Goldader, Brown Deer, Wis., and Ann and Millard Aagnes, Billings, Mont.; 19 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Rose was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers and two sisters. Virginia Mae "Gina" Haney, 53, Newton, Kan., and formerly of Bismarck, died Oct. 15, 2000 in a Halstead, Kan. hospital. Dora Ivarie
Dora "Doris" Ivarie, 72, Bismarck, died Oct. 16, 2000 at her home. Services will be held at 10 a.m. MDT Friday, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, New Leipzig, with the Rev. John Amundson officiating. Burila will be in the Finnish Cemetery, New Leipzig. Visitation will be from 11 a.m.-noon CDT Thursday at Marillac Manor, Bismarck, and 1-9 p.m. Thursday at Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck. Dora Gertrud Bartel was born Nov. 3, 1927 at Kranz, Germany, to Max and Gertrud (Bolz) Bartel. She was raised and educated at Kranz. Doris worked for a number of families as their housekeeper while WWII was raging, then moved to the United States when she was 27 to live with her sister, Frieda Wohl. They lived in New Leipzig, where she met and married Ernest Oliver Ivarie on Feb. 10, 1955. Doris and Ernest farmed near New Leipzig until 1989, when they moved to Marillac Manor in Bismarck, where she resided until her death. In New Leipzig, Doris was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and belonged to the Women of the Church. She also was a member of New Leipzig's American Legion Auxiliary. Doris believed that one shouldn't be afraid to try new things. She enjoyed sewing, fishing, playing cards, shooting pool, reading, working jigsaw puzzles and cooking. Doris was dearly loved and will be deeply missed by her family and many good friends. She is survived by her daugther and son-in-law, Linda and Frank Fettig, Bismarck; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Les and Tracy Ivarie, Sioux Falls, S.D., and Kenneth Ivarie, Parachute, Colo.; four grandchildren, Michaela and Jeremy Fettig, and Christopher and Tonie Ivarie; her sister, Frieda Wohl, Bismarck; and two brothers, Kurt and Max Bartel, Germany. Emma Mindt
Emma Mindt, 89, died Oct. 16, 2000 in a local care center. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Evangel Temple, Bismarck, with the Revs. Arland Dwelle and Lloyd Jorgenson officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck. Visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. today at Eastgate Funeral Service, and one hour prior to the service at the church. Emma Kessler was born Jan. 2, 1911 on a farm north of Glen Ullin, to Jacob and Christina (Roth) Kessler. She was educated in Mercer County Schools and married Albert Mindt on Sept. 29, 1933 at the Congregational Church north of Glen Ullin. They farmed in the Glen Ullin area until 1947, and then moved to Bismarck. Emma was a member of Evangel Temple. In her younger years, she enjoyed doing visitation at a local nursing home and also being active in the ladies groups and nursery in the church. Emma will be missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her husband, Albert, of 67 years; a daughter and son-in-law, Luella and Ewald Wetzel, Bismarck; a son and daughter-in-law, Roy and Pat Mindt, Sterling; three grandchildren, Vicky Wang, Fargo, Cora Lursen, Apple Valley, Minn., and Jeff Mindt, Sioux Falls, S.D.; four great-grandchildren, Lindsey Wang, Jared and Karlee Lursen and Campbell Mindt; one brother, Chris Kessler, Bismarck; and many nieces and nephews. Emma was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, John and Reynold Kessler and four sisters, Mary Luithle, Katie Luithle, Bertha Huber and Christine Luithle.
