RHAME -- Milford L. Carlson, 80, Rhame, died Sept. 9, 2000, in the Bowman care center. Services will be held at 10 a.m. MDT Monday at First Lutheran Church, Rhame, with burial in Tuttle Cemetery, Rhame. He is survived by his wife, Ione; two sons, Conrad, Bismarck, and Greg, Rhame; three daughters, Janice Corneil, Dickinson, Judy Idler, Glasgow, Mont., and Diann Rue, Rhame; three brothers, Herb, Rhame, Arnold, Billings, Mont., and Donald, Rhame; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Lorraine D. Granlie
WASHBURN -- Lorraine D. Granlie, 78, Washburn, died Sept. 8, 2000, in the Underwood nursing home. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Washburn United Methodist Church, with burial in Riverview Cemetery, Washburn. She is survived by her husband, Randolph; three daughters, Janice Hanson, Washburn, Violet Hanning, Park Forest, Ill., and Becky Gruenberg, Shoreline, Wash.; two sons, Frank Holznagel, Sumner, Wash., and Robert Holznagel, Roseburg, Ore.; 18 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; four brothers, Charles Gruenberg, Fargo, Edmund Gruenberg, Bismarck, Jim Gruenberg, Fargo, and Fred Gruenberg, Minot; and five sisters, Mary Klein and Charlotte Anderson, both of Bismarck, Edna Butz, McKenzie, Beverly Fetzer, Wilton, and Elaine Rutter, Minneapolis. Huber A. Jordan
Huber A. "Slim" Jordan, 83, Green Bay, Wis., died Sept. 9, 2000, in a Green Bay nursing home. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Lyndahl Funeral Home, Green Bay, with the Rev. Gail Sowell officiating. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday and after 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Huber was born Jan. 13, 1917, in Driscoll, the son of A.C. and Mary (Huber) Jordan. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. On May 17, 1947, he married Pearl Hamery. Huber worked for Super Valu Stores, Inc., in Bismarck, Aberdeen, S.D. and Green Bay for 39 years. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Pearl; two daughters and sons-in-law, Mary and Brian Van Hout, and Karen and Keith Hutchison, all of Green Bay; one granddaughter, Marla Hutchison; and two grandsons, Aaron and John Van Hout. In addition to his parents, Huber was preceded in death by one sister, Cordelia.

Clara Kirkpatrick
WIBAUX, Mont. -- Clara Kirkpatrick, 89, Wibaux, died Sept. 9, 2000, in the Baker hospital. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Sentinel Butte, N.D., with burial in Sentinel Butte Cemetery. She is survived by four daughters, Donna Myers, Phoenix, Janice Johnson, Sentinel Butte, Carol Hlebichuk, Sequim, Wash., and Arlys Flaig, Spangle, Wash.; one son, Ted, Salmon, Idaho; 15 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; one sister, Doris Ross; and three brothers, Mike Franzen, Gene Franzen and Chuck Franzen. Kelly Klein
MINOT -- Kelly Klein, 37, Bismarck, died Sept. 6, 2000, in a Bismarck hospital of complications with leukemia. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Leo's Catholic Church, Minot, with burial in Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot. he is survived by two daughters, Kyleigh Klein and Tabetha Buechler; his parents, Eugene and Lorraine Klein, Minot; two brothers, Dennis, Minot, and Timothy, Tunnel Hills, Ill.; and two sisters, Margaret Staci, Allens Park, Colo., and Kimberly Crawford, Menoken. Inga M. Knutson
Inga M. Knutson, 92, 112 E. Ave. C, died Sept. 8, 2000, in her home. Services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Bismarck, with the Rev. Todd Hylden officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck. Visitation will be from 1-9 p.m. today at Eastgate Funeral Service, and will continue at the church one hour before services. Inga Swiggum was born on July 8, 1908, in Leonard, the daughter of Iver and Marie Swiggum. She was raised and educated in Leonard. She married Oliver Knutson on Sept. 12, 1936, in Britton, S.D. They lived near Leonard until 1944. When Oliver was drafted into the U.S. Army they moved to Detroit Lakes, Minn. Inga, Oliver and their children moved to Manhattan, Kan., in 1947, and lived there until moving to Bismarck in 1953. The family moved to McCook, Neb., in 1961, and returned to Bismarck in 1966. Inga was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, American Legion Auxiliary, and the National Association of Federal Retirees. She loved spending time with her family, writing letters, gardening, traveling and vacationing at her summer lake cabin in Minnesota. Inga is survived by one daughter, Donna, Bismarck; one son and daughter-in-law, Orly and Judy Knutson, Woodbury, Minn.; four grandchildren, Chauntel Rode and her husband, Brad, Kimberly Knutson, Cari Knutson, and Dawn Dickey and her husband, Dave; four great-grandchildren, Courtney and Ashley Rode, and Lauren and Jessica Dickey; one sister, Olga Irwin; nieces, Doris Haverkamp, Evelyn Milsted and Violet McClaflin; nephews, Charles and James Swiggum; two sisters-in-law, Caroline Folden and Stella Graf; and a special great-niece, Jan Cartledge. She was preceded in death by her husband, Oliver; her parents; five brothers, Clarence, Oscar, George, Art and Carl; and three sister, Ida, Selma and Emma.

JAMESTOWN -- Sean Alden Kollman, 25, Jamestown, died Sept. 8, 2000, in Jamestown. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. John's Lutheran Church, Jamestown. He is survived by his parents, Alden and DeLanda Kollman, Jamestown; one sister, Heather Kollman, Fargo; and his grandparents, A. Jean Kollman, Jamestown, and Eldo and Lorena Hillius, Jamestown. Linda Rae Martel
Linda Rae Martel, 50, Bismarck, died Sept. 9, 2000, in the Mandan care center. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. John's Lutheran Church, Hosmer, S.D., with the Rev. Brad Larson officiating. Burial will be in Bethany Cemetery, Hosmer. Visitation will be from 2-9 p.m. Monday at Boelter Funeral Home, Bismarck, and noon-2 p.m. Tuesday at the church. Linda was born June 9, 1950, in Ipswich, S.D., the daughter of John and Martha (Banick) Martz. She attended Roscoe High School and graduated in 1968. Linda attended the School of Commerce in Aberdeen, S.D. She married Kenneth Kraft, Oct. 19, 1968. She married Julius Martel, June 30, 1974. They lived in Hosmer briefly. They moved to Ipswich in 1976, and returned to Hosmer in 1984. Julius died in 1996. Linda moved to Bismarck to be with her daughters in 1998, where she lived until her death. She loved to sew, cook and spend time with her daughters and grandson. Linda is survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law, Kimberly and Jeff Greisch, Bismarck, Lisa and Travis Thomas, Mandan, and LuAnn Martel, Bismarck; one sister and brother-in-law, Annie and Lester Nehlich, Roscoe; and one grandson, D.J. Kramer, Bismarck. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband; and her second husband.

William G. Namyniuk
DICKINSON -- William G. Namyniuk, 86, Dickinson, died Sept. 8, 2000, in a Dickinson care center. Services will be held at 10 a.m. MDT Tuesday at St. Demetrius Ukrainian Catholic Church, rural Belfield, with burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, rural Belfield. He is survived by his wife, Josie; one daughter, Lillian Hellickson, Brookings, S.D.; one son, Ray, Fairfield; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. (Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson)

Olive Olson
TIOGA -- Olive Olson, 88, Williston, died Sept. 8, 2000, in a Minot hospital. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Zion Lutheran Church, Tioga. Further arrangements are pending at Everson Funeral Home, Williston.

Lawrence L. Tebelius
Lawrence L. Tebelius, 86, Bismarck, died Sept. 5, 2000. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Seventh-day Adventist Church, Bismarck, with the Rev. Ray Kelch officiating. Entombment will be in Sunset Mausoleum, Bismarck. Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Monday at Eastgate Funeral Service, and will continue at the church one hour before services. Lawrence was born Jan. 18, 1914, in Harvey. He attended school in Harvey, graduating in 1933. During his high school years, he was a member of Harvey High School basketball, football, baseball and track teams. He married Loretta Preszler on Aug. 21, 1938, and they had three children, Charles, Maxine and Linda. Lawrence enjoyed a long and successful business career which began with his attending the Minnesota School of Business in Minneapolis from 1935-1936. He was employed as an accountant by the Bank of North Dakota from 1938-1940. From 1940-1947, he was an accountant/manager with Builders Supply Co., and from 1947-1951, the manager of Bardwell Robinson Co. He left this business to own and operate Bismarck Paint and Glass Co. until 1966. From 1960 until his retirement in 1996, he operated L.L. Tebelius Sales as a manufaccturer's rep for school equipment, moveable partitions and auditorium seating. Lawrence was also a partner and original owner of the first Holiday Inn of Bismarck. Lawrence was a member of the Elks Lodge No. 1199, the Masonic Lodge No. 5, the Builders Exchange, and the Seventh-day Adventist Church. He was past president of Sunset Memorial Gardens. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling and golf. He was an avid fan of the Minnesota Vikings, Minnesota Twins and the Bismarck High School Demons. He is survived by three children, Charles Tebelius, Eden Prairie, Minn., Maxine Close, Denver, and Linda Christianson, Sacramento, Calif.; and five grandchildren, Lara Tebelius, Pittsburgh, Brian Close and Scott Close, both of Denver, Marc Tebelius, Grand Forks, and Heather Christianson, Sacramento. He was preceded in death by his wife, Loretta. The family prefers memorials to the Seventh-day Adventist Church or the Bismarck Elks Lodge for charitable causes.

Mary C. Volk
HARVEY -- Mary C. Volk, 84, Harvey, died Sept. 8, 2000, in the Harvey nursing home. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Harvey, with burial in the church cemetery. (Hertz Funeral Home, Harvey)

Allen V. West
FLASHER -- Allen V. West, 26, Flasher, died Sept. 7, 2000, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Paul's Catholic Church, Hazelton, with the Deacon Kenneth Wohlbaum and the Rev. Bob Schoepp. Burial will be in Hazelton Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon to 9 p.m. today at Myers Funeral Home, Linton, and will continue at the church one hour before services. A prayer service will begin at 7 tonight at the funeral home. Allen was born Feb. 21, 1974, in Rocky Ford, Colo., the son of Darlene (Haid) and Byron West. He was baptized at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Pueblo, Colo. on March 3, 1974. He was raised and educated in Hemet, Calif. He moved to Hazelton in 1993. Allen worked for Easy Manufacturing in Strasburg for one year. He married Jessica Held at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Hazelton, on June 14, 1997. Allen also worked for Hazelton Elementary School until moving to Flasher in 1998. He was currently working for Sturdee Products in Carson. Allen enjoyed fishing, basketball, motorcycles and playing games. He is survived by his wife, Jessica; two sons, Ty, at home, and Andrew Denney, Kingman, Ariz.; one daughter expected in October 2000; his father and stepmother, Byron and Carin West, Kintyre; his mother and stepfather, Darlene and Michael Allen, Flasher; his grandparents, Andrew and Annetha Haid, Hazelton; three half-brothers, Thomas West, Daniel West and David West, all of Kintyre; one step-brother, Kirk Cloyd, Hemet; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Doreen and Doug Shea, Hazelton, and Dawnette Carrier, Rye, N.H.; one step-sister, Lisa Palmer, Denver; three nieces and one nephew, Shawna and Kayla Shea, J.C. Carrier and Shania House; and several aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Vernie and Nellie West; his step-grandmother, Lucille Allen; and a cousin, Kasey Werre. The family prefers memorials to the Allen V. West Trust Fund, P.O. Box 407, Hazelton, 58544.

Boyd H. Armstong
Boyd H. Armstong, 48, Fargo, died Sept. 9, 2000, in a Bismarck hospital. Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck. Boyd Harold Armstrong was born on Dec. 27, 1951, at Flin Flon, Manitoba, Canada, the son of J.H. and Luella Jean (Parker) Armstrong. He moved to the United States with his family in 1966. A 1973 graduate of Hazen High School, he joined the U.S. Army and served at various posts prior to attending Humbolt Institute in Minneapolis. His working years were spent in Iowa and North Dakota where he was employed as a rate clerk in the trucking industry. He was married and divorced in Iowa before moving to Fargo where he was employed at the time of his death. He is survived by his parents, J.H. and Luella Jean Armstrong, Bismarck; his sister, Lora Lang and her fiance, Don Tittle, both of Beulah; his brother, Bruce and his wife, Brenda, Mandan; two nieces, Shyla Lang, Fargo, and Brandy Armstrong Allen and her husband, Jason, Incerlik Air Force Base, Turkey; two nephews, James Armstrong, Grand Forks, and Jason Lang and his wife, Angie, Annandale, Minn.; and one grand-nephew, Ethen Armstrong. NEW ROCKFORD -- Mary Barnett, 60, New Rockford, died Sept. 10, 2000, in her home. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at United Methodist Church, New Rockford. Further arrangements are pending at Evans Funeral Home, New Rockford.

Albert C. Bender
Albert C. Bender, 80, Bismarck, died Sept. 9, 2000, in a Bismarck care center. Private family services will be held. Albert was born June 4, 1920, at Washburn, the son of John and Carolina (Hirsch) Bender. He was raised and educated in Washburn. He farmed in the Washburn area until 1970. He then worked construction until his retirement in 1989. He married Sophie Zimmermann on Oct. 17, 1953, in Bismarck. Albert enjoyed hunting, fishing, going to auction sales, and feeding animals. He is survived by two sons, Sidney Bender and Lyndon Bender, both of Bismarck; one daughter and son-in-law, Edie and Marv Kary, Mandan; and one grandson, Jason Kary. Albert was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Julius, Emil, Harold and Edwin; and five sisters, Amelia Bender, Helmina Berger, Mathilda Olson, Annette Blumhagen and Ella Bender. At Albert's request, there will be no public funeral service. (Eastgate Funeral Service)

MINOT -- Dr. George M. Christensen, 80, Minot, died Sept. 9, 2000, in his home of complications with Lou Gehrig's disease. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Lutheran Church, Minot, with burial in North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, rural Mandan.
