He is survived by his wife, Denise Nez; three sons, Carlisle, Daniel and Morey, all at home; two brothers, Marcus Jr., New Town, and Barlow, Mandaree; two sisters, Sharissa Wells, Bismarck, and Marci Wells, New Town; and his parents, Marcus and Rezilda Wells, New Town. Reinhold Kraenzel
DICKINSON -- Reinhold Martin Kraenzel, 89, Dickinson, died July 9, 1997, in Dickinson. Private family services will be held, with burial in St. John Cemetery, Hebron.
Reinhold was born March 10, 1908, near Hebron, to Reinhold and Hulda (Weber) Kraenzel. He was raised near Hebron and attended Hebron schools. He farmed after completing his education. He married Katie Funk, Oct. 6, 1931, at Hebron. They farmed north of Hebron. In 1961 they moved into town and Reinhold worked for the North Dakota State Highway Department for 12 years. He also worked for Western Livestock for a number of years. They moved into Dickinson in 1990.
Reinhold loved baseball, and in the early 1930s he was the catcher on the Farmers Valley team. His other passion was horses, and in 1947 he helped organize the Broken Arrow Saddle Club in Hebron.
He was a member of St. John United Church of Christ, Hebron, and had served on the Hebron School Board.
He is survived by his wife, Katie; two sons and daughters-in-law, Ralph and Debbie, Mott, and Keith and Virginia, Dickinson; three daughters and sons-in-law, Delores and Wellde Frey, Oroville, Calif., Kathleen and Calvin Sailer, Las Vegas, and Brenda and Dale Sailer, Three Forks, Mont.; 18 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Paul, Hebron, and Weddy, Las Cruzes, N.M.; and four sisters, Bertha Bentz, Elgin, Erna Phillips, Livingston, Mont., Louise Metzger, Bismarck, and Hulda Right, Auburn, Calif.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Jim; one grandson; three sisters; and two brothers.
Markell Kleppe
Markell Lynn Kleppe, 19, Napoleon, died July 8, 1997, of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. Services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Napoleon, with burial at Napoleon City Cemetery.
Marki Kleppe was born Oct. 17, 1977, at Wishek. She attended Napoleon schools and was graduated with the Class of 1996. She was a student at Bismarck State College at the time of her death.
She is survived by a daughter, Katherine Lee Kleppe, at home, her parents, Rodney and Leed Kleppe, Napoleon, one brother, Kelly Kleppe, Mandan, her fiance Jeremy Jangula, Napoleon, her grandparents Russell Kleppe, Steele, Alois and Shirlene Schumacher, Napoleon, and many aunts, uncles, cousins and several close friends. Edythe Schultz
Edythe Schultz, 87, formerly of Bismarck, died Oct. 8, 1996, in Phoenix. A memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the First Presbyterian Church, Bismarck, with the Rev. Jeannette Hickman officiating.
Edythe is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Jay and Janice, Bismarck, and John and Aldena, Avondale, Ariz.; four grandchildren, Charles Schultz,. Falls Church, Va., Tracy Spaulding, Austin, Texas, Stephanie Schultz, Arlington, Va., and Beth Duroucher, Phoenix. (Perry Funeral Home, Mandan)
Arnold Regner
Arnold J. ``Hap" Regner, Sr., 88, Wishek, died July 9, 1997, at the Wishek Retirement Home. Services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, Napoleon, with burial in the church cemetery.
Hap Regner was born March 19, 1909, on the family farm northwest of Napoleon. He was married to Leona Becker at Napoleon on Aug. 2, 1929. They owned several businesses and later farmed near Burnstad until retiring in the mid-1970s.
He is survived by his wife, Leona, of Valley City, five sons and daughters-in-law, Arnold and Shirley Regner, Jr., Napoleon, Gerald and Alice Regner, Burnstad, Dale and Susan Regner and Victor Regner, all of Ypsilanti, Mich., and Tom and Linda Regner, Wishek; two daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Jane and Don Lemnus, Dickinson, and Joan and Alex Bitz, Valley City; 22 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren; one brother, Cletus of Steele; two sisters, Mrs. Adeline Lucas, Phoenix, and Mrs. Marcella War Cloud, Sisseton, S.D.
Winifred Hoersch
Winifred ``Winnie" Hoersch, 58, Bismarck, died July 8, 1997, in the Mandan hospital. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Bismarck, with the Rev. Erik Saxvik officiating. Burial will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Medina Cemetery, with the Rev. Robert Pestal officiating.
Visitation will be from noon to 9 p.m. today at Eastgate Funeral Service, and will continue at the church one hour before services.
Winifred was born May 1, 1939, in Jamestown, the daughter of Benjamin and Frances (Rawson) Hoersch. She graduated from Medina High School and received her teaching degree from Valley City State College. She received a bachelor of science degree from Mary College in 1971. She taught country school in Valley Springs Township one year and moved to Bismarck in 1961. Winnie educated third-graders for the next 35 years at Pioneer Elementary School in Bismarck until her retirement in 1995. She also worked part time for the North Dakota Education Association in Bismarck until her illness.
Winnie was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, AAUW, Delta Kappa Gamma, North Dakota Education Association, National Education Association and Bismarck Education Association. She also served as president of BEA from 1990-1993. She received the NDEA and the BEA Outstanding Leadership in 1993 and 1994. Winnie touched countless lives with encouragement, comfort, humor and pranks. She had a love for children, and with her strong leadership ability, she dedicated endless time striving for quality education at the local, state and national levels.
She is survived by her mother, Frances Hoersch, Medina; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Cara Anderson, Yakima, Wash., and Brenda and Gene Guthmiller, Medina; two brothers and sisters-in-law, David and Roxy, Sioux Falls, S.D., and Dennis and Carol, Kennewick, Wash.; two aunts; one niece; and eight nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father.

Lydia Wahl
Lydia Wahl, 97, Bismarck Baptist Home, died July 1, 1997, in the nursing home. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Bismarck Baptist Home Chapel, with burial at 2 p.m. Saturday in McClusky Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at Boelter Funeral Service and will continue at the church one hour before services.
Lydia was born April 3, 1900, in Russia, the daughter of Ferdinand and Maria (Fandrich) Rosenau. The family immigrated to the United States and homesteaded near Goodrich. They later moved to the McClusky area, where they farmed. On March 17, 1921, Lydia married Carl J. Wahl, at her parents' farm. They continued to farm and raise their children. In 1955 they moved to Bismarck. Lydia did various jobs and volunteer work in the Bismarck area. She enjoyed visiting with relatives and friends, cooking, crafts, gardening, church activities and teaching Sunday school. She belonged to the Womens' Missionary Society and Homemakers Club in McClusky and Bismarck. She was also a member of Veterans of World War I Auxiliary.
She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Bernice and Kenneth Schauble, San Jose, Calif.; two sons, Eugene M., Bismarck, and Wesley D., Redondo Beach, Calif.; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Olga Wahl, Harvey, and Emma Leppke, Carrington; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Carl; one daughter in infancy; 11 brothers; and one sister.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to the Bismarck Baptist Home or the charity of their choice.
