Audenia Kuntz
Audenia Kuntz, 82, Medcenter One Care Center, Mandan, died April 17, 1999, in the care center. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Mandan. Further arrangements are pending with Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan.
Thomas Gleich
Thomas Allen Gleich, 39, Bismarck, died April 14, 1999, due to a drowning accident. Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Church of St. Anne, Bismarck, with the Rev. Ed Wehner officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Bismarck.
Visitation will be from 3-9 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Eastgate Funeral Service, where a rosary and vigil will begin at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
Tom was born June 11, 1959, in Bismarck, the son of Tony and Mary Lou (Lacey) Gleich. He was raised in Bismarck and Baldwin, and graduated from Century High School in 1977. He then attended Bismarck Junior College, and graduated with an associate of arts degree. Tom began working with the U.S. Geological Survey as a high school student and then worked with them full-time as a hydrologic technician. He married LuAnne Werner on June 26, 1987, in Bismarck at Church of St. Anne.
Tom loved hunting with his brothers, fishing with his family and golfing with his friends. They all have so many stories. He was the greatest Minnesota Vikings fan there ever was. When the Gleich brothers got together, "Watch out!"
The outstanding thing about Tom was his devotion to his family. He loved his parents, his brothers and sister, and of course his wife, LuAnne and his special girls. He called them all "my girls" and would tell Katie and Nicole they were his sweetie pies.
Tom is survived by his wife, LuAnne; four daughters, Jessica Geiger, Kari Jo, Katie and Nicole Gleich; his parents, Tony and Mary Lou Gleich, Baldwin; one sister, Kathy and her husband, John, and their children, Jeremy, Lisa, Dustin and Heidi; five brothers and their families, Dennis and his wife, Linda, and their children, Becky, Amy, Jamie and Matthew, Donny and his wife, Sandy, and their children, Carrie Leigh and John, Dave and his wife, Tammy, and their son, Casey, Pat and his special friend, Bonnie Seefeldt, and Dan and his wife, Laura, and their daughter, Amanda; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Lorrece and Andrew Werner; four brothers-in-law, David Werner and his wife, Andrea, Richard Werner and his wife, Karen, and their children, Jennifer and Scott, Curly Werner and his wife, Michi, and their children, Alex, Alana, Pius and Jon, and Andy Mark Werner; one sister-in-law, Karen Lee Werner and her friend, Jim Rivinius; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Mary Gleich, and Earl and Louise Lacey, and a special friend, Mark "Peabody" Stolz.
Audenia Kuntz
Audenia "Ida" Kuntz, 82, died April 17, 1999, in a Mandan nursing home. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Church of St. Joseph, Mandan, with the Rev. Jacob Schumacher officiating. Burial will be in Mandan Union Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan, where a St. Maria Verein rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Wednesday, followed by a parish vigil at 7:30.
Audenia was born May 11, 1916, in Odense, the daughter of Christ and Antonina (Vogt) Schaff Sr. On Jan. 3, 1938, Ida married Frank J. Kuntz in Odense. They both farmed in the Odense and Fort Rice area until 1996, then moved to Mandan. Ida was employed at the Holiday Inn in Bismarck from 1966-1978.
She is survived by four sons and three daughters-in-law, George, Orland, Calif., Frank M. and Sharon, and Christian and Susan, all of Mandan, and Albert and Tori, Tuuscin, Md.; three daughters and sons-in-law, Virginia and Lou Klaich, Vancouver, Wash., Betty and Kelvin Kopp, Mandan, and Lorraine and Tim Kuntz-Dexter, Casper, Wyo.; 18 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Philip and Christ, both of Mandan; and one sister, Kathrine Comb, Mandan.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Frank J., who died in 1975; three sons, John, Adam and John; one grandson, Allen Boehm; three brothers, Frank, Steve and Peter; and three sisters, Helen Gerhardt, Margaret Schaff and Peggy Zent.

Darryl Frederick
Darryl Frederick, 59, 1727 North Grandview Lane, Bismarck, died April 17, 1999, in a local hospital after a brief illness. Services will be held at 10-30 a.m. Wednesday at Church of Corpus Christi, Bismarck, with the Rev. Steve Zastoupil officiating. Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. CDT Wednesday at St. Lawrence Cemetery, Flasher.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m.-9 p.m. today at Boelter Funeral Home, where a vigil service will be presided by Sister Ivo Schoch at 7 tonight.
Darryl was born Dec. 3, 1939, at Flasher, the son of Fritz and Elizabeth (Grimm) Frederick. He was raised and educated in Flasher. He graduated from Jamestown College and received his master's degree from North Dakota State University in Fargo. He married Darlene Lemna on June 20, 1964, in Enderlin.
Darryl was a teacher and administrator in North Dakota for over 30 years. He was most recently employed as superintendent of schools in Hinsdale, Mont.
He enjoyed golfing, hunting, playing with his grandchildren, farming and playing cards. He was active in the Wing and Flasher Lions clubs. He served on several professional educational boards and also enjoyed teaching driver's education for many years.
Darryl is survived by his wife, Darlene, Bismarck; one daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Dan Novacek, Elko, Nev.; three sons and one daughter-in-law, Matt, Tim and Cyndi, and Andy, all of Bismarck; two grandchildren, Acea Hargrove and Jordan Novacek; his mother, Elizabeth, Flasher; one sister and brother-in-law, Eunice and John Toman, Flasher; and one brother and sister-in-law, Vern and Bonnie, Flasher.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to establish a scholarship in Darryl's name. (Boelter Funeral Home, Bismarck)
Audrey Laine
NAPOLEON -- Audrey Laine, 70, Napoleon, died April 18, 1999, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Kintyre, with the Rev. Victor St. George officiating. Burial will be in Finnish Lutheran Cemetery, rural Kintyre.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today and 9 a.m.-8 p.m. Wednesday, both at Dahlstrom Funeral Home, Napoleon, and for one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
Audrey was born July 8, 1928, at rural Kintyre, the daughter of Ervin and Phoebe (Seek) Johnson. She grew up on the family farm south of Kintyre, where she was raised by her father and stepmother, Magdalena (Haid) Johnson. Audrey received her elementary education in rural Emmons County Schools, and continued to live at home until her marriage to Carlo Laine on July 2, 1947, at rural Kintyre. Following their marriage, the couple lived and farmed south of Kintyre, until Mr. Laine's death on Nov. 1, 1993. In 1995, Audrey moved to Napoleon, and since October of 1998, she has resided at Edgewood Vista in Bismarck.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Kintyre, LogEm's Club, and she and her husband were active members of the South Central Threshing Association of Braddock. Audrey will be remembered for her love of her family, especially her grandchildren, whom she cherished and loved to spend time with.
She is survived by three daughters, Karla Kuipers, Jackson, Minn., Carol (Steve) Sundberg, Bismarck, and Deborah (Robert) Weir, Redwood Falls, Minn.; two sons, Richard Laine, Colorado, and Steve (Pam) Laine, Bismarck; eight grandchildren, Dustin, Erik, Kylee, Bryce, Adam Laine, Kristen and Lynde Kuipers, and Caleb Weir; four brothers, Lyle (Eleanor) Johnson, Bismarck, Donald (Bernice) Johnson, Bismarck, Calvin (Bernadette) Johnson and Tom Johnson, all of Kintyre; two sisters, Mrs. Mavis Brundidge, Jamestown, Calif., and Betty Peterson, Cedar City, Utah.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carlo, her parents; and two brothers, Rodney Johnson and Robert Blaker. (Dahlstrom Funeral Home, Napoleon)
Dale Sackman
Dale Sackman, 70, North Charleston, S.C., a retired master sergeant with the Air Force, died March 18, 1999, at his home. Services will be private, according to Sthur's Greenridge Road Chapel.
Dale was born in Turtle Lake, the son of Rudolph and Elizabeth (Heil) Sackman. He was a graduate of Turtle Lake High School and also attended Minot State Teacher's College.
Surviving are his wife, Mary T. (McGrath) Sackman; three daughters, Patricia (Sackman) Bendell, Mount Pleasant, Marlene Sackman and Linda Sackman, both of North Charleston; a son, Dale Sackman Jr., Columbia, S.C.; and six grandchildren.
He is also survived by one brother and sister-in-law, Eugene and Arlene (Schumacher) Sackman and one sister and brother-in-law, Cleo (Sackman) and Ernest Ibach, all of Bismarck; and one sister-in-law, Eunice (Bergo) Sackman, Beach, and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Dale was preceded in death by his father, mother, two brothers, Ruben and Edward; and one sister, Jean Arlene.
Dorothy Olin
Dorothy Olin, 82, Mukwonago, Wis., and formerly of Carson, died April 19, 1999, in Mukwonago. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Pine Hills Funeral Chapel, Orofino, Idaho.
She is survived by her sisters, Ethyl and Minnie; three daughters, Gloria Severson, Portland, Ore., Helen Olin, Boise, Idaho, and Barbara Fisher, Star, Idaho; and five sons, Jerry and Lee, both of Orofino, James, Mukwonago, Steven, Elma, Wash. and John, Lake Wales, Fla.
