Martin Henlein
Martin J. Henlein, 80, 217 N. 11th St., died Nov. 4, 1997, in a Bismarck nursing home. Services will be 3 p.m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Bismarck, with burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, Bismarck. The Rev. Charlie Heidt will officiate.
Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to noon Friday at Perry Funeral Home, Mandan, and will continue at the church one hour before services. A rosary will be said at 7:30 tonight at the funeral home.
Martin J. Henlein was born May 21, 1917, at Bismarck, the son of Thomas and Eva (Barbie) Henlein. He was raised and educated in Bismarck. He graduated from St. Mary's High School in 1935.
Martin worked as a blueprinter for the North Dakota Highway Department for 20 years. He held a special interest in photography and botany. Different trees were very special to him.
He is survived by his cousins, Eugene Barbie of Los Angeles, Ernest Barbie of Denver, Ernie Barbie, Paul Barbie and Mary Sailer, all of Bismarck, Elaine Schaff of Seattle, Edwin Barbie of Salem, Ore., Helen Barbie of Hibbing, Minn., and Tim, Collette and Virginia Barbie, all of Denver.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Anna, Mary and Eva; and one brother, John.
Hazel Hintz
ARTHUR -- Hazel Hintz, 92, Arthur, formerly of Bismarck, died Nov. 4, 1997, in an Arthur nursing home. Services will be 10 a.m. today at Zion Lutheran Church, Bismarck, with the Rev. Bradley Stoltenow officiating. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. at Napoleon City Cemetery.
Visitation will begin one hour prior to services at the church.
Hazel L. Hayden was born Sept. 6, 1905, at Nicholson, the daughter of Albert and Minnie Hayden. She was raised and graduated from high school in Napoleon.
She married John Hintz on June 26, 1924, in Napoleon. They farmed near Napoleon until 1926, when he began working for the Soo Line Railroad. They later moved to Roslyn, S.D., where they lived until his death in 1966. She then moved to Bismarck, where she worked at the Patterson Hotel, the Bismarck Hospital, and the Drumstick Cafe.
She is survived by one son and a daughter-in-law, James and Muriel of Cottage Grove, Minn.; two daughters and one son-in-law, Evelyn Schulze of Bismarck, and Judy and Jim Essig of Fargo; two sisters, Emma Foss of St. Paul, Minn., and Mabel Forde of St. Paul; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John; and four brothers. (Eastgate Funeral Service)

He is survived by his parents, Dennis Knutson and Eva Beehler, both of Hettinger; his wife, Julie; one son, Nicholas, at home; one daughter, Lexine Knutson, at home; three brothers, Dennis of Crookston, Minn., Kevin of Longmont and Robert of Hettinger; and one sister, Lisa Knutson of Longmont. Willis Mauch
GOODRICH -- Willis J. Mauch, 71, rural Goodrich, died Nov. 4, 1997, in the Harvey hospital. Services will be 1 p.m. today, at Hertz Funeral Home, Harvey. Burial will be in Goodrich City Cemetery.
Visitation will be held one hour before services.
Willis was born on Jan. 2, 1926, on the family farm southwest of Goodrich. He was the son of William and Freida (Brodehl) Mauch. He grew up and attended rural school there.
He married Goldie Wagner Sept. 15, 1946, at Goodrich. They lived and farmed southwest of Goodrich. He retired in 1988. In June 1996, he entered St. Aloisius Nursing Home in Harvey.
He is survived by his wife, Goldie; one son and daughter-in-law, Kelly and Mary Mauch of Bismarck; two daughters and sons-in-law, Mavis "Mae" and Jon Hieb of Minot and Elly and Darrell Radomski of Mandan; six grandchildren; and two sisters, Betty Berreth of Goodrich, and Marilyn Kreiter of Bismarck.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Harold.
Victoria Powers
TWIN BUTTES -- Victoria Ann Powers, 54, Green Bay, Wis., died Nov. 2, 1997, in her home. Services will be 10 a.m. CST Friday at Twin Buttes Memorial Hall, with burial in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Twin Buttes.
She is survived by three daughters, Theresa Webber of DeKalb, Ill., Roseann Lewis of Green Bay and Glenda Lewis of DePere, Wis.; three sons, Byron Lewis Jr. of Green Bay and Tracy Lewis and Robert Powers, both of DePere; one sister, Eleanor Crowsheart of Twin Buttes; and one brother, Michael Lincoln Sr. of New Town. Molly Ratcliff
Molly (Tolstedt) Ratcliff, 46, Ellensburg, Wash., died Oct. 27, 1997, in an Ellensburg hospital after a long and courageous battle with cancer. A memorial service was held in the Providence Yakima Medical Center Auditorium, Ellensburg.
She was born Margaret Ellen Tolstedt on Sept. 22, 1951, to Grandon and Ardis Tolstedt in Chicago. Molly spent much of her early childhood in Seattle while her parents attended post graduate medical school education.
She moved to Bismarck in 1963, graduating from Bismarck High School in 1969. She attended Rocky Mountain College in Billings, Mont., graduating with a B.S. in biology in 1972. She graduated from Montana State University in Bozeman, Mont., with a B.S. in nursing in 1974.
Molly began her nursing career in 1974 at Billings Deaconess Medical Center, where she specialized in intensive care practice. She and her future husband met while working on the initial Mobile Intensive Deac Care team which began operations in January of 1977.
She worked at Emanual Hospital, Portland, Ore., in 1978, and at Kittitas Valley Community Hospital in 1979. She began a long career with Providence Medical Center Yakima (formerly St. Elizabeth's) in 1980.
Molly was the clinical manager for the intensive, coronary, and acute care units for many years. She worked full-time until February of 1997, when her illness forced her into disability. Molly was also an instructor for the Central Washington University Paramedic program.
In July 1978, she married David R. Ratcliff in Billings. After living for a short while in Vancouver, Wash., they moved to Ellensburg in 1979, where Dave completed his undergraduate degree studies. On Sept. 30, 1984, Molly gave birth to a son, Joel David Ratcliff, her pride and joy in life.
Molly fought her illness for over five and a half years. She was a dynamic and giving person and was recently honored with an Outstanding Nurse Manager Award from the Providence Yakima Medical Center, Washington State Nurses Association. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and the staff and management at Providence.
She is survived by her husband, Dave; one son, Joel, at home; her father, Grandon Tolstedt, M.D. and his wife Phyllis of Little Rock, Ark.; one sister and brother-in-law, Betsy Tolsted and Pat Walsh of Chicago; and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Mark and Michelle Tolstedt of Stevens Point, Wis., and Ross and Cecilia Tolstedt of Bismarck; her mother and father-in-law, Edward and Gloria Ratcliff of Billings; her brother-in-law, Joe Ratcliff of Billings; her aunt and uncle, Vern and Lee Tolstedt of Helena, Mont.; two cousins, Brian and Julie Tolstedt; three nephews, Andrew, Travis and Henry; and one niece, Krista.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Ardis (Candy) Tolstedt in May 1993; and one cousin, Brett Tolstedt, in November 1989.

Thekla Senger
Thekla Senger, 72, Bismarck, died Sept. 12, 1998, in a Bismarck hospital after a long illness. Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at church of St. Anne, Bismarck, with the Rev. Ed Wehner officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Bismarck.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at Eastgate Funeral Service, where a rosary will be said at 7 tonight.
Thekla was born May 20, 1926, in Strasburg, the daughter of Anton and Natalia Reinbold. She grew up in the Strasburg area, where she received her education. She married Joe Senger, Oct. 6, 1948. They farmed in Hague until moving to Bismarck in 1953. Along with raising her family, Thekla volunteered her time at St. Anne's School and enjoyed baking. Thekla especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and appreciated the help and kindness of those who spent time with her. Thekla's warm smile and kindness will be remembered by all of those who loved her.
Thekla is survived by her husband, Joe; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Gladys Miller, Tennessee, Susan and Mike Leingang, Bismarck, Diane and Brad Ruff, Bakersfield, Calif., and Yvonne and David Becker, Dallas, Texas; five sons and three daughters-in-law, Tony and Jesyka, Santa Ana, Calif., Ron and Mary, Davenport, Iowa, Pat and Nancy, Bismarck, Bill, Bismarck, and Tim, Houston; 15 grandchildren; six sisters, Johanna Vetter, Lena Fischer and Theresa Reis, all of Bismarck, Monica Senger, Aberdeen, S.D., Katie Feist, Linton, and Eleanor Wagner, Mandan; and two brothers, John and Iggie, both of Strasburg.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Pam; her parents; and two sisters and three brothers.
