Wesley Ost
Wesley Ost, 75, Jamestown, died Thursday, Oct. 21, 2004 at his home. Services were Monday at First Congregational United Church of Christ, Jamestown. Burial was at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Jamestown.
Mr. Ost was born June 22, 1929 in Fredonia, the son of Oscar Sr. and Pauline (Becker) Ost. He grew up and received his education in Fredonia. He entered the U.S. Marine Corps on Nov. 15, 1951 and was discharged Nov. 14, 1959. He married Betty Batsch on June 12, 1968, in Jamestown.
Willis Ost
Willis Ost, 69, Jamestown, died Friday, Oct. 22, 2004 at Wishek Hospital. Services were Tuesday at St. John's Lutheran Church, Jamestown. Burial was in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Jamestown.
Mr. Ost was born Feb. 19, 1935 on the family farm near Fredonia, the son of Oscar Sr. and Pauline (Becker) Ost. He attended rural school and worked on the family farm until 1974 when he moved to Jamestown where he worked for Evertts Construction (now Border States).
Fern Baker
Fern Baker, 79, Jamestown, died Mon., Nov. 29, 2004 at Central Dakota Village in Jamestown. The funeral was Fri., Dec. 3 at the Eddy Funeral Chapel. Burial was in the Ypsilanti Cemetery.
Fern was born December 11, 1924 in Milwaukee, OR, the daughter of Bryant and Hazel (Purintun) Baker. She lived on farms near Hazelton, Kintyre and Ypsilanti.
Ella Kroll
Ella Kroll, 82, of Lodi, CA died Nov. 28, 2004 in a Lodi hospital. A graveside service was held at Cherokee Memorial Park in Lodi, CA.
She was born Nov. 25, 1922 the daughter of Herman and Julianna (Grossman) Eichele in Napoleon. She married Walter Kroll in 1943. They moved to Lodi in 1963 where they owned and operated the Rainbow Club until their retirment in 1974.
Clara Wangler
The funeral for Clara Wangler, 84, Linton, was held Tues., December 7 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church. B
Clara died December 3, 2004 in the Linton Hospital. Clara Wangler was born March 21, 1920 southeast of Napoleon, the daughter of Wilhelm and Elizabeth (Zahn) Glatt. She attended country school. Clara married John A. Wangler on October 11, 1939 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Napoleon.
Pauline Beglau
Pauline Beglau, 98, Jamestown, died Sunday, Feb. 6, 2005 in Central Dakota Village, Jamestown. Funeral services will be Thursday at 11 in the funeral home of Gackle.
Pauline Remboldt was born Aug. 28, 1906, daughter of John and Justine (Lang) Remboldt near Gackle, where she grew up and attended school. She later attended Sheyenne River Academy, Harvey. On Nov. 5, 1928 she married Gotthilf Beglau in Jamestown.
Andrew Hedblad
Andrew Hedblad, 84, Napoleon, died Jan. 28, 2005, in a Napoleon care center.
Elizabeth Hilsendeger
Elizabeth Hilsendeger, 83, died Feb. 4, 2005, at a Mandan hospital.
Elizabeth Feigert was born June 20, 1911 in Streeter, the daughter of Jacob and Katherine Feigert. She was raised and educated in Streeter.
Elizabeth married Pete Hilsendeger on Sept. 19, 1943 in Steele.
Tillie Kaufman
Tillie Kaufman, 88, Jamestown, died Monday, Jan. 31, 2005 at Sheyenne Care Center, Valley City.
Tillie Kauk was born Nov. 21, 1916 in Zeeland, the daughter of Peter and Margaretha (Schleichenmeyer) Kauk. She attended school in the Lehr area. She moved to Jamestown in 1938. She married Edgar Kaufman on May 26, 1947 in Fargo.
Bertha Rieger
Bertha Rieger, 100, Wishek, died Jan. 31, 2005, at a Wishek nursing home.
Bertha Rieger, daughter of Fredrick and Christina (Werner) Sayler, was born in Logan County Feb. 29, 1904. She lived and worked on the family farm and graduated from the eighth grade, where school was held for a time on her parents' farm in the summer kitchen. Later she went to Hebron to visit a sister, where she taught a country school for a short time. There she met Henry Sayler, married Henry on Feb. 18, 1925 in Napoleon.
Rudolph Ruff
Rudolph Ruff, 93, Jamestown, died Monday, Jan. 31, 2005, at Hi-Acres Manor Nursing Center, Jamestown.
Mr. Ruff was born Sept. 3, 1911, west of Fredonia in Logan County, the son of Fred and Bertha (Karius) Ruff. He attended the local rural school, grew up in the area and helped on the family farm. He married Esther Krueger on July 15, 1935 in Lehr. In 1934 he purchased a store at Guyson, ND. He was postmaster from 1934 to 1947, when they moved to Fredonia. He worked at Economy Store and other places. He was a rural mail carrier from 1950 until he retired in 1969.
Adolph J. Dockter
Adolph J. Dockter, 78, of Bismarck, died from brain cancer on March 27, 2005 in Bismarck. A funeral service will held at 11 am Thursday, March 31 at the Bismarck Funeral Home.
Adolph Dockter was born June 28, 1926 in Streeter, son of John F. and Barbara (Schafer) Dockter. He grew up and attended both elementary and high school in Streeter. Adolph served in the US Army from 1944 - 1946. He was a member of the 82nd Airborne Paratrooper Division. He then returned to Streeter in 1946 to help on the farm and he attended Agrivets School under the GI Bill. In 1949 he married Doris Lang of Streeter and they made their home 6 miles south of Streeter ranching and farming until 1956.
Albert Eslinger
Albert "Slim" Eslinger, 88, Garrison, formerly of Napoleon and Wishek, died March 19, 2005, at a Garrison nursing home.
He is survived by two step-children, Mrs. Donald Ackerman, Wishek, and Daryl Wanner, Bismarck.

Arlow Vandenburg, 72, Napoleon, died March 27, 2005, at the Napoleon Care Center.
Wilma Wittmier
Wilma Wittmier, 78, Bismarck, formerly of Napoleon, died March 25, 2005, at a Bismarck care center.
Wilma Schwartzenberger, daughter of Sebastian and Margaret (Sperle) was born April 14, 1926. She grew up and was educated in Napoleon. She was united in marriage to George A. Welder in June, 1947 at St. Anthony. After their marriage, they farmed in the Napoleon area and in 1957, her husband died as a result of an automobile accident.
