Chad M. Erickson, 26, Arvada, Colo., and formerly of Hettinger, died Dec. 16, 1997, at Arvada. Services will be held at 11 a.m. MST Monday, at Hettinger Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Hettinger Cemetery.

Richard Lang
BEULAH -- Richard H. Lang, 94, Beulah, died Dec. 18, 1997, in a Beulah nursing home. Services will be held at 10 a.m. MST Monday, at Beulah Congregational Church. Further arrangements are pending with Seibel Funeral Home, Beulah.
LeRoy Henderson
LeRoy Henderson, 67, 1664 Capitol Way, Bismarck, died Dec. 17, 1997, at his home. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, at Church of the Ascension, Bismarck, with the Rev. Marvin Klemmer officiating. Burial will be in North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, rural Mandan.
Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. today, and 1 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck, and for one hour prior to services at the church on Monday. A rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
LeRoy Fred Henderson was born Jan. 1, 1930, in St. Paul, Minn., the son of Floyd and Henrietta (LaPort) Henderson. He attended St. Luke's Elementary School and Monroe High School. After high school, in 1947, LeRoy enlisted in the United States Army Air Corps, which six months later became the United States Air Force. Throughout his twenty years of service, LeRoy was stationed in many different Air Force bases in the United States as well as serving at the Berlin Airlift and later in the Philippine Islands. In October of 1967, LeRoy retired as a staff sergeant in the United States Air Force where he was an air traffic controller. After his military retirement, he worked in air traffic control at the Bismarck Airport for 16 years.
His hobbies included outdoor activities, such as hunting, fishing and the sport of golf. He was a life member of V.F.W. Post No. 1326 in Bismarck. He played a roll in the Cooties Scratch Organization. He also served on the Honor Guard Society, and was a life member of AMVETS Post No. 9.
He is survived by five sons and three daughters-in-law, Wayne and Debby, Albuquerque, N.M., Keith, Annapolis, Md., LeRoy Jr. and Teresa, Rapid City, S.D., Lester and Donna, Fort Mill, S.C., and Larry, Bismarck; one daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Keith Bride, Bismarck; 15 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Joyce Luther and Marjorie and Ray McMahon, all of St. Paul, Minn.; four brothers and three sisters-in-law, Jerome and Margie, Loften, Nev., (his twin brother) Lester, Bena, Minn., Floyd and Sara Henderson, Hancock, Mich., and David and Lori, Anchorage, Alaska; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by both parents; one sister-in-law, Rose; and a very good friend, Pete Hoffman. (Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck)
Robert Wetsch
ST. ANTHONY -- Robert J. "Bob" Wetsch, 53, St. Anthony, died Dec. 17, 1997, at his home. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, at Spirit of Life Catholic Church, Mandan. Burial will be in North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, with military rites provided by Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion Posts of Mandan.
Visitation will begin after 11 a.m. Sunday, at Buehler-Larson Funeral Home, Mandan, where a rosary will be said at 3, 6 and 8 p.m. Sunday, with a parish vigil at 7 p.m. Sunday.
Robert was born Oct. 20, 1944 in Bismarck, the son of Jack and Irene (Wetch) Wetsch. He attended rural schools and married Dorothy Barnhardt on Oct. 15, 1966 in Center. He served with the U.S. Army in Vietnam during 1965 and 1966. Bob farmed all of his life and was most recently employed as a heavy equipment operator by Mariner Construction.
A quiet, easy-going and generous man, he enjoyed playing pinochle and hearts as well as his time spent hunting and fishing. He collected coins and hats and was a member of Mandan Rural Fire Department.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; two daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda and Dale Ziniel, Mandan, and Mary and Tony Boehm, Fargo; three sons, Jack and his friend, Lindie Doll, St. Anthony, Mike, Mandan, and Joe and his friend, Heather Fisher, Mandan; three grandchildren, Kristy and Brent Ziniel and Randy and Tyler Wetsch; his stepfather, Fred Browder, Cheyenne, Wyo.; and his aunts and uncles, Harry C. and Betty Jencks, Fair Oaks, Calif., Lorna Jangula and Joe and Maggie Morrell, all of Mandan. BELFIELD -- Anna Rodakowski, 83, Belfield, died Dec. 17, 1997, in Amery, Wis. Services will be held at 9 a.m. MST Monday at St. Bernard's Catholic Church, Belfield, with the Rev. John Guthrie officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
She is survived by one son, Edward, Amery; one daughter, Roberta Jablonski, South St. Paul, Minn.; one brother, Walter Hniuk, Eugene, Ore.; and four sisters, Olga Branko, Dickinson, Kathrine Helms, Missoula, Mont., Rose Mann, Bismarck, and Joyce Kordon, Springfield, Ore. Chad Erickson
HETTINGER -- A memorial service for Chad Michael Erickson, 26, Arvada, Colo., will be held at 11 a.m. MST Monday at Hettinger Lutheran Church, Hettinger, with the Rev. Steven Sherer officiating. Burial will be in Hettinger Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. today at Evanson-Jensen Funeral Home, Hettinger, and will continue at the church one hour before services.
Special music will be provided by vocalists Norman and Bonnie Smith, and organist, Charlotte Morey. Casketbearers will be Chad Chadwick, Kayle Dangerud, Troy Dschaak, Daryl Hendricks, Nathan Nagel and Greg Pagel. Honorary bearers are Paul Marek, Bill Drexler, the Class of 1990 and all of his many friends.
Chad Michael Erickson was born Aug. 13, 1971, in Hettinger, to Bruce and Cynthia (Dangerud) Erickson. He attended all 12 years of school at Hettinger, graduating from Hettinger High School in 1990, where he was active in 4-H, FFA, FBLA, football and wrestling. He lived and worked in Dickinson and Hettinger for a time before moving to Alexandria, Minn., where he attended Alexandria Tech, graduating in 1995 with a degree in fluid power technology.
Following graduation Chad moved to Denver, where he was employed for the past 2 years. He loved the opportunities he had there to enjoy the Denver Broncos and other sporting activities. He also enjoyed music, movies, his computer and his Blazer.
He died of natural causes at his home early Tuesday morning, Dec. 16, 1997, shortly after watching his beloved Broncos on Monday night football.
Chad loved coming home to the farm and his family, and especially found it important to see and talk to them regularly following the deaths of his brothers. He was a loving son and brother, and his list of friends was endless. He was known for his huge heart, his love of animals and enjoying the simple pleasures of life.
He will be sorely missed by his parents, Bruce and Cynthia Erickson, Hettinger; his only sister, Heidi, Moorhead, Minn.; his grandparents, Orville and Myrtle Dangerud, Hettinger; his aunts and uncles, Boyd Erickson, Lisbon, Maurice and Yvonne Erickson, Richmond, Va., Kerry and Ginger Dangerud, and Kevin and Roberta Dangerud, all of Hettinger; his cousins, Jay Erickson, Richmond, Jeff Erickson, Baltimore, Md., Claire and Michael Graetzer, Richmond, Kayle Dangerud, Brookings, S.D., and Drew and Aryn Dangerud, Hettinger.
He joins in death, his brothers, Greg, who died March 17, 1988, Brian, who died Oct. 4, 1992; and his grandparents, Monroe and Lillian Erickson.
A memorial will be established.
Richard Lang
BEULAH -- Richard H. Lang, 94, Beulah, died Dec. 18, 1997, in the Beulah nursing home. Services will be held at 10 a.m. MST Monday at Beulah Congregational Church, with the Rev. Jeff Meyers officiating. Burial will be in Beulah Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. today at Seibel Funeral Home, Beulah, and will continue at the church one hour before services.
Richard was born Sept. 23, 1903, in Hosmer, S.D., a son of Henry and Mathilda (Bauer) Lang. He came to North Dakota with his parents, when he was 1 year old. He attended rural school in Zap and Golden Valley. On June 28, 1942, he married Eleanor M. Stern in Taylor. They lived on the homeplace where his parents homesteaded north of Zap. They farmed and ranched there from 1942 to August 1965, when they retired and moved to Beulah.
Richard was a member of Beulah Congregational Church, Mercer County Farm Bureau, and a past member of North Dakota Stockmen's Association. He also aced as judge at Western Livestock in Dickinson for many years. He loved to work with cattle and horses and also enjoyed attending rodeos.
He is survived by his wife, Eleanor; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Bertha Renke, Beulah, and Olivia and Don Shields, Marysville, Wash.; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Emil and Alma, Tacoma, Wash., and Harry, Las Vegas; and many nieces and nephews.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Emil (as an infant), Otto "Bud," Milbert and Albert; and two sisters, Elsie and Emma.
Olive Rutter
TURTLE LAKE -- Olive E. Rutter, 90, Turtle Lake, died Dec. 19, 1997, in the Turtle Lake hospital. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at United Methodist Church, Turtle Lake, with burial in Turtle Lake Cemetery.
Visitation will be from noon to 9 p.m. Monday and 9 a.m. to noon Tuesday at Goetz Funeral Home, Turtle Lake, and will continue at the church one hour before services.
Olive Edna Isaacson was born June 22, 1907, near Turtle Lake, to Adolph and Minnie (Aschnewitz) Isaacson. She grew up on her parents' farm and attended rural school. On Nov. 17, 1940, she married Franklin Rutter at Turtle Lake. They made their home on the Rutter farm north of Turtle Lake where they farmed and ranched. In 1995 they moved into Turtle Lake, where they have made their home.
Olive was a member of Turtle Lake United Methodist Church and a past member of the Turtle Lake Senior Citizens Club. Olive enjoyed crotcheting, fishing and loved flowers and plants. Olive will be greatly and deeply missed by all her family.
She is survived by her husband, Franklin; one daughter, Shirley Rutter, Bismarck; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Lowell, Beulah, and Wallace Sr. and Thommie, Grafton; two grandchildren, Wallace Rutter Jr., and Mary Curtis and her husband, Jeff, Spokane, Wash.; three sisters and one brother-in-law, Eyvonne Perrault, Arlington, Wash., Gladys and LeRoy Renfrow, Ellensburg, Wash., and Estella Mollette, Othello, Wash.; one brother and sister-in-law, Howard and Patty Isaacson, Olympia, Wash.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Kenneth; one sister, Myrtle Rodgers; and one brother, Ervin Isaacson.

SOUTH HEART -- Helen Mahlmann Beaudoin, 67, South Heart, died Dec. 19, 1997, in Yuma, Ariz. Services will be 10 a.m. MST Wednesday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Dickinson. Further arrangements are pending with Mischel-Olson Chapel, Dickinson.

BOWMAN -- Dean A. Olson, 63, Bowman, died Dec. 20, 1997, in a Glendive nursing home. Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, at Krebsbach Funeral Home Chapel, Bowman. Burial will be in Bowman Cemetery.
He is survived by several aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Robert Pfaff
TAPPEN -- Robert A. Pfaff, 22, Tappen, died Dec. 21, 1997, at his home. Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, at St. Paul's Catholic Church, Tappen, with the Rev. Thomas Krupich officiating. Burial will be in Fisher Cemetery, rural Tappen.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Tuesday, at Eastgate Steele Memorial Chapel, where a prayer service will be said at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Robert was born on May 17, 1975, in Medina, the son of Ernest and Janet (Rohrich) Pfaff. He was raised and educated in Tappen and Steele.
Robert was enrolled in the Special Education program in Steele. He also attended the Anne Carlsen Center for Children in Jamestown, from 1993-1996, returning daily to his home in Tappen.
Robert enjoyed the outdoors, going for walks and swimming.
Those who shared in his life were his parents, Ernest and Janet; one brother, Billy Joe Pfaff, Tappen; his grandparents, Art and Delores Pfaff, Tappen, and Joe and Margaret Rohrich, Steele; many aunts, uncles and cousins; and special caregivers, Lisa Haadem and LaVonne Mittleider, both of Tappen. Clara Chase
Clara J. Chase, 77, Mandan, died July 26, 1997, in the Mandan hospital. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Buehler-Larson Funeral Home, Mandan, with the Rev. Richard Hagestuen officiating. Burial will be in Mandan Union Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Clara Jeanette Chase was born Dec. 1, 1919, in Mandan, the daughter of Harry and Helen (Amundson) Chase. She lived on a farm near Fort Rice for most of her life, until she moved to Mandan in 1994.
Clara is survived by four sisters, Helen Lumsden, Peggy Doty and Bonnie Deering, all of the Minneapolis area, and Harriet Diede, West Fargo, and her many special nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, five sisters and two brothers.
