He is survived by his wife, Gladys; two daughters, Beverly Erickson, Rapid City, S.D., and Evelyn Coners, St. James, Minn.; two sons, Jerald, Milwaukee, Ore., and Duane, Keswick, Ontario, Canada; one sister, Inga White, Maddock; and five brothers, Lloyd, Fessenden, Kermit, Maddock, Alvin, East Grand Forks, Minn., Tilford, Minnewaukan, and Odean, Heimdal. Albert Lang
NAPOLEON -- Albert E. Lang, 76, Napoleon, died Nov. 20, 1997, in a Bismarck hospital from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Napoleon. Burial will be in Napoleon City Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Leona; one son, Wayne, Napoleon; two daughters, Pam Glatt and Shelia Dewald, both of Napoleon; his mother, Emilia Lang, Napoleon; two brothers, Ruben and Marvin, both of Napoleon; and one sister, Eleanor Wentz, Bismarck. (Dahlstrom Funeral Home, Napoleon)

Ruth Hansen-Renfrow
ESMOND -- Ruth Hansen-Renfrow, 68, Phoenix, Ariz., died Dec. 8, 1997, in a Scottsdale, Ariz., hospital. Arrangements are pending at Nelson Funeral Home, Maddock.

Amos Wike
KILLDEER -- Amos C. Wike, 82, Killdeer, died Dec. 10, 1997, in the Killdeer nursing home. Services will be held at 1 p.m. MST Saturday at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Killdeer. Further arrangements are pending at Mischel-Olson Chapel, Dickinson.

Cora Myhre
PLAZA -- Cora Myhre, 89, Plaza, died Dec. 6, 1997, in the Parshall nursing home. Services will be held at 2 p.m. today at First Lutheran Church, Plaza, with burial in East Plaza Cemetery.

She is survived by two sons, Harvey and Myron, both of Plaza; two daughters, Lois Grove, Parshall, and Doris Manzo, Seattle; and one brother, Dale Reese, Portland, Ore. (Johnson Funeral Home, Parshall)

Ida Arnold
ASHLEY -- Services for Ida Arnold, 93, Ashley, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Ashley Baptist Church, with burial in Ashley Cemetery. She died Dec. 10, 1997, in the Ashley hospital.

She is survived by four daughters, Ruby Denning, Arleen Rath, Delores Arnold and Lorraine Becker, all of Ashley; and four sons, Walter, Herbert, Clarence and DeuWayne, all of Ashley. (Carlsen Funeral Home, Ashley)

Mary Sibley
WILLISTON -- Mary Sibley, 71, Williston, died Dec. 9, 1997, in the Williston hospital. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Williston, with burial in Riverview Cemetery, Williston.

She is survived by her husband, Lawrence; one son, Joseph, Omaha, Neb.; two daughters, Rose Alton, Ray, and Theresa Vandeberg, Britton, S.D.; and two sisters, Marie Bartlett, Williston, and Louise Bommersbach, Vancouver, Wash. (Everson Funeral Home, Williston)

Glen Rudland
Glen C. Rudland, 57, 416 S. 18th St., died Dec. 10, 1997, in his home after a long battle with cancer. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Zion Lutheran Church, Bismarck, with the Rev. Bradley R. Stoltenow officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Bismarck.

Visitation will be from noon to 9 p.m. today at Eastgate Funeral Service, and will continue at the church one hour before services.

Glen was born Feb. 4, 1940, in Eckman, the son of Belvin and Agnes (Sjoquist) Rudland. He was raised in rural Maxbass, and attended school in Maxbass and Glenburn. He married Jeanette Lindquist in 1959. They resided in Minot and he worked for Bridgeman Creamery for several years. He then moved to Bismarck where he drove truck for North Dakota Concrete. He married Annetta Kaiser, Dec. 21, 1984, at Zion Lutheran Church, Bismarck. Glen retired in 1997, after working for North Dakota Concrete for 19 years.

He loved his wife, grandchildren, trucking and his poodle, named Booh. He also enjoyed camping and fishing.

He is survived by his wife, Annetta; two daughters and one son-in-law, Sherry Brekhus, Kenmare, and Denise and Tim Johnson, Minot; one son and daughter-in-law, Rodney and Mona, Jamestown; seven grandchildren, Michael and Tonya Brekhus, Tyler and Christopher Johnson, and Dylan, Lexee and Shelby Rudland; three brothers, Robert, Don and Conrad; two sisters, Opal Johnston and Linda Pierson; and special friends, Dean and Betty, Gary and Patty, George and Sharon, Ray and Marie, John and Rodney, and John and Sharon.

He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Glenda; both of his parents; and one brother, Richard.

Claude Braunagel
Claude L. Braunagel, 74, 1508 Eighth Ave. S.E., Mandan, died Dec .9, 1997, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Spirit of Life Church, Mandan, with the Rev. Charles Backes officiating. Burial will be in Mandan Union Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan, where a parish rosary will be said at 6:30 p.m. Friday, followed by a parish vigil at 7.

Claude was born July 2, 1923, in Strasburg, the son of the late Anton and Kathern (Thomas) Braunagel. Claude attended rural schools in Emmons County. He married Helen Dosch, June 5, 1944, in Strasburg. They farmed from 1944 until 1957, near Sterling. He sold the farm and became a steel worker from 1957-1962. From 1962 until 1964 Claude worked at Dakota Zoo, Bismarck, as a caretaker. In 1964 he worked at the Holiday Inn as a building engineer until 1977 when he went to work for Catalatic working for the oil refinery covering the states of Ohio, Indiana and Pennsylvania as well as Mandan. He worked for Mandan School District as building engineer and other various jobs retiring in 1988.

He is survived by his wife, Helen; three sons, Donald, Bismarck, Kenneth, Sheridan, Ore., and Raymond, Mandan; four daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Basil Buck, Tacoma, Wash., Linda and John Ohlsen, Mandan, and Eileen and Harry Hiedrich, and Cindy and Tracy Vanous, all of Bismarck; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Magnus and Mildred, Castle Rock, Colo., and Robert and Marilyn, Woodbridge, N.J.; and three sisters and one brother-in-law, Susan Materi, Bismarck, Emma Wiest, Lemmon, S.D., and Loretta and Robert Olson.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one grandson, Harris; and one granddaughter, Katie.

Velda Boehm
Velda J. Boehm, 60, 3710 Roughrider Lane North, Mandan, died Dec. 10, 1997, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at Spirit of Life Catholic Church, Mandan, with burial in Mandan Union Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Friday at Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan, where a parish rosary and vigil will begin at 8 p.m. Friday.

Velda (Wise) Boehm was born Aug. 18, 1937, in rural Mercer. She was the daughter of Fred and Emma (Buchholz) Wise. She was raised and educated in Mercer, graduating from Mercer High School in 1955. She married Patrick Boehm, Oct. 8, 1955, at McClusky. They moved to Bismarck, and in 1973, to Mandan where she worked at Marv's Hardware as a store clerk for 12 years.

Velda was a sincere person who always put the needs of others first. Her favorite holiday season was Christmas. She would bake and cook her favorite recipes. The most common requests were for homemade ice cream and barbecued ribs. In August, she celebrated her 60th birthday with her twin brother, Bill, family, friends and relatives. She had a great love for animals, especially her three dogs and horses. The love of her life, her family and grandchildren and friends, will miss her friendly smile and the times spent with her.

She is survived by her husband, Patrick; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Troy and Lisa, Mandan, and Darrin and his friend, Heidi Grefsrud, Fargo; one daughter and son-in-law, Jodie and Tom Fetsch, Mandan; two grandchildren, Sarah and Steven Fetsch, both of Mandan; and one daughter, Bill and Sharyn Wise, Lakewood, Wash.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Harold.

Frieda Albrecht
NEW SALEM -- Frieda Albrecht, 91, New Salem, died Dec. 8, 1997, in the New Salem nursing home. Services will be held at 2 p.m. MST today, at Bethel United Church of Christ, south of New Salem, with the Rev. Duane Wacker officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church.

Frieda Schwinkendorf was born on Jan. 20, 1906, in New Salem, the daughter of Fred and Frieda (Jahnke) Schwinkendorf. She married Edward J. Albrecht on Oct. 15, 1924, in New Salem. They farmed south of New Salem until 1959, when they moved into New Salem. Edward died on April 2, 1992.

A lady known for her positive attitude, she enjoyed fishing, gardening and arts and crafts, particularly those involving driftwood. She loved being with people and her family was of primary importance.

She was a member of Bethel Womens Guild and had been a resident of the Elm Crest Manor in New Salem since December of 1995.

She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Dorothy and Howard Neas and Dorlene and Raymond Kaelberer, all of New Salem; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and one brother and two sisters-in-law, Harry and Margaret, Yakima, Wash., and Bernice Schwinkendorf, Bremerton, Wash.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one sister, Erna Kaelberer; and three brothers, Albert, Fritz and Carl. (Buehler-Larson Funeral Home, New Salem)

McKayla Archambault
FORT YATES -- McKayla Sky Archambault, stillborn daughter of Marlene Grey Bear and Larry Archambault, died Dec. 9, 1997, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be 2 p.m. CST Tuesday at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Fort Yates. Further arrangements are pending with Kesling Funeral Home, Mobridge, S.D.

Jeffrey Arnold
Jeffrey F. Arnold, 32, formerly of Steele, died Dec. 9, 1997, in Dallas, Texas. Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Steele. Further arrangements are pending with Eastgate Steele Memorial Chapel.

Velda Boehm
Velda J. Boehm, 60, 3710 Roughrider Lane North, Mandan, died Dec. 10, 1997, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be 3 p.m. Saturday at Spirit of Life Catholic Church, Mandan, with burial in Mandan Union Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1-9 p.m. today at Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan, where a parish rosary and vigil will begin at 8 p.m. tonight.

Henry Brigl
Henry "Hank" Brigl, 80, Eugene, Ore., formerly of Huff, died Dec. 3, 1997. Services were held Oct. 6, 1997, at West Lawn Memorial Park and Funeral Home, Eugene. Burial was in West Lawn Memorial Park, Eugene.

Henry was born Oct. 24, 1917, in Huff, to Lorenz and Rose Brigl. On July 13, 1946, he married Jean Miller in Glendive, Mont.

He has been a resident of Eugene since 1946. He worked as a maintenance mechanic for Williams Bakery. He retired in 1984.

He enjoyed camping, traveling, square dancing, ballroom dancing, skiing and music. He was very skilled with his hands and enjoyed building things. He was a regular blood donor and during his lifetime gave 32 pints of blood.

He was a member of the Independent Order of Foresters, Eagles Lodge, and Elks Lodge.

He is survived by his wife, Jean; two daughters, Yvonne Noble of La Pine, Ore., and Cynthia Stevens of Eugene; two sons, Rodney and Randy, both of Springfield, Ore.; two brothers, Clemens of Arvada, Colo., and Julius of Bismarck; four sisters, Amelia Hornack and Rosella Heck, both of Everett, Wash., Veronica Zeno of Walnut Creek, Calif., and Marie Albrecht of Bismarck; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to Sacred Heart Medical Center in care of the funeral home.

Esther Frala
Esther L. Frala, 86, formerly of Bismarck, died Dec. 10, 1997, in Cambridge, Minn. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Bismarck. Further arrangements are pending with Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck.

Luella Howen
WAHPETON -- Luella Howen, 65, Wahpeton, died Dec. 9, 1997, in the Wahpeton hospital. A private family funeral service and burial will be held.

She is survived by four sisters, Helen Wright, Myrtle Holter and Judith Long, all of Williston, and Alice Fisk of Bismarck; two brothers, Buddy of Rockford, Ill., and Raymond of Marshfield, Wis. (Everson Funeral Home, Williston)

Melvin Lafontaine
MINOT -- Melvin J. Lafontaine, 63, Minot, formerly of Berthold, died Dec. 10, 1997, in a Minot hospital. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Bethany Lutheran Church, Minot. Burial will be in Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot, at a later date.

He is survived by his wife, Maryann; three sons, Danny and Darrell, both of Minot, and Delmore of Erie, Penn.; three daughters, Joy Newland of Devils Lake, Janet Preskey of Fort Riley, Kan., and Julie Corrigan of Salina, Kan.; three brothers, John of San Diego and David and Roger, both of Minot; and one sister, Muriel LeClair, Berthold. Clara Stanley
HAZEN -- Clara Stanley, 70, Hazen, died Dec. 11, 1997, in a Glen Ullin nursing home. Services will be 10 a.m. MST Monday at Salem United Methodist Church, Hazen. Further arrangements are pending with Seibel Funeral Homes, Beulah and Hazen.

Henry Webber
DICKINSON -- Henry V. Webber, 76, Dickinson, died Dec. 11, 1997, in a Dickinson hospital. Services will be 10 a.m. MST Monday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Dickinson. Further arrangements are pending with Mischel-Olson Chapel, Dickinson.
