William Field
TURTLE LAKE -- William "Bill" H. Field, 83, Turtle Lake, died June 26, 1997, in the Turtle Lake hospital. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Olaf Lutheran Church, rural Turtle Lake, with burial in East Crooked Lake Cemetery, rural Turtle Lake.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday at Goetz Funeral Home, Turtle Lake, and will continue at the church one hour before services.
William Harold Field was born Sept. 20, 1913, at Turtle Lake to Carl and Amanda (Anderson) Field. He grew up on his parents' farm 10 miles north of Turtle Lake and attended rural school. As a young man he worked for area farmers, and after his father's death, he and his brother farmed the family farm. On Oct. 30, 1943, he married Helen Pudwill at Washburn. They made their home on the family farm and in 1945, bought their present farm.
He is survived by his wife, Helen; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sandra and Arlan Geiszler, Rugby, and Sharon and Dennis Hanson, Turtle Lake; three grandchildren, Kirk Hanson, Shelly Alexander and Nyko Fredericks; one great-granddaughter, Ashley Fredericks; one sister, Margaret Peterson, Devils Lake; and three brothers, Arlie, Turtle Lake, Chester, Jamestown, and Morris, Stockton, Calif.
Anna Skachenko
Anna C. Skachenko, 83, Bismarck, died June 26, 1997, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Bismarck Funeral Home, with the Rev. Lloyd C. Jorgenson officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, and will continue one hour before services.
Anna Skachenko was born Dec. 15, 1913, near Grassy Butte, the daughter of George and Mathilda (Boyko) Kukla. It was here that she attended school. Anna married Fred Skachenko on July 29, 1938, in Dickinson.
Anna loved cooking, baking and her flower gardens. She especially loved being with her grandchildren.
She is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law, Frederick and Inga, Manning, Robert, Bismarck, and Roger and Kathy, Mandan; seven grandchildren, Mike B., Kevin S., Mike S., Suzanne S., Tim B., Tom B. and Lisa S.; one brother, Anton Kukla, Dodge; one sister, Martha Holler, Hazen; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Anna was preceded in death by her husband; one brother, John; and three sisters, Sana, Francis and Katherine.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to Bethel Assembly of God Church, Mandan.
Fred Schultz
Fred Schultz, 52, 3012 Twin City Drive, Mandan, died June 27, 1997, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Spirit of Life Church, Mandan, with the Rev. Hugo L. Blotsky officiating. Burial will be in North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, rural Mandan, with military rites by Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday at Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan, where a rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Sunday, followed by a parish vigil at 7:30.
Fred was born Oct. 16, 1944, in Mandan, the son of Ted and Ann (Baker) Schultz. He was raised and educated in the Fort Rice area achieving his general equivalency diploma in the military. He was in the U.S. Army from 1966 to 1971 and served one year in Vietnam. On Feb. 18, 1969, he married Sally Berger in Mandan. Freddie Was employed as a truck driver for Cloverdale for 23 years.
He was a member of the Mandan Moose Club.
He was greatly loved and will be deeply missed by those who survive him, including his spouse, Sally; one son, Clint, Mandan; two daughters, Candy and Lisa Schultz, both of Mandan; three grandchildren, Krista and McKenzie Johnson, and Jeffery Gartner; three brothers, Alvin and Jim, both of Mandan, and Harold, Fort Peck, Mont.; and two sisters, Betty Dillion, Waco, Texas, and Vivian Helfrich, Mandan.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Ronald Zoller
Ronald J. Zoller, 66, 2111 E. Ave. E, died June 25, 1997, in Salt Lake City. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Steve Sathre officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck, with military rites by Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. today and 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday at Eastgate Funeral Service, and will continue at the church one hour before services.
Ronald was born Jan. 11, 1931, in Temvik, the son of John and Martha (Bender) Zoller. He was raised and educated in Linton. He graduated from Linton High School in 1948. Ron served in the U.S. Air Force from 1948 to 1955. He served during the Korean War and was discharged from Carswell Air Force Base in Fort Worth, Texas. Ron married Erma Larson, June 15, 1952, in Bismarck. They returned to Bismarck after his discharge. Ron owned various business in Bismarck, most recently Ron's Family Restaurant. For the past 14 years, he was a salesman for Capital City Restaurant Supply and Equipment Co.
Ron was a past commander and life member of VFW. He was also a member of American Legion, Amvets, Eagles and Elks.
He is survived by his wife, Erma; three sons and one daughter-in-law, Alan and Stacey, Salt Lake City, Dean and his friend, Holly, Bismarck, and Dale and his friend, Roberta, Salt Lake City; eight grandchildren; his mother, Martha Zoller, Bismarck; two brothers and one sister-in-law, James and Becky, Bismarck, and Robert, Minneapolis; three sisters and one brother-in-law, Vivian Fairchild, Jamestown, Audrey and Glenn Rolf, Wichita, Kan., and June Blumenson, Minneapolis; and many nieces, nephews and special friends.
He was preceded in death by his father.

Margaret Archambault
FORT YATES -- Margaret Archambault, 89, Fort Yates, died May 31, 1997, in the Fort Yates hospital. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Peter Catholic Church, Fort Yates, with the Rev. Casimir Paluck officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-9 p.m. Tuesday at the church, where a rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Margaret was born Dec. 24, 1907, in Sioux County, the daughter of Thomas and Amanda (Buckley) Short. She was raised and educated in the Fort Yates area. In 1936 she married Henry "Spike" Archambault in McIntosh, S.D. Henry died in 1971. Margaret will long be remembered for her love of her children and grandchildren.
Margaret was a member of the Bernadines Church Group in Fort Yates.
She is survived by two sons, Phillip N., Portland, Ore., and Dwight J., Fort Yates; 10 grandchildren; and two sisters, Lodina Noel, Auburn, Wash., and Nellie Williamson, Rapid City, S.D.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; four brothers and seven sisters.
Elnora Treft
HARVEY -- Elnora Treft, 79, Harvey, died May 30, 1997, in her home. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Seventh-day Adventist Church, Harvey, with burial in Manfred Seventh-day Adventist Cemetery.
Visitation will be 1-8 p.m. today at Hertz Funeral Home, Harvey.
Elnora was born May 10, 1918, on the family farm in Rusland Township, Wells County, the daughter of John and Lena Wagner. She grew up on the family farm and attended rural schools. She married Art Treft May 23, 1939, in Fessenden. They lived and farmed southwest of Manfred. In 1943, they moved to a farm in Rusland Township, where she assisted her husband in the farming operation. She was a member of Manfred Seventh-day Adventist Church, and held offices as a Dorcas leader, a teacher in the children's division, and was the church librarian.
She is survived by her husband, Art; two daughters and sons-in-law, Delila and Reuben Ojeda, College Place, Wash., and Janice and Larry Jones, Bowdon; one son and daughter-in-law, Garry and Delilah, Bismarck; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; five sisters, Esther Miller and Ruth Fischer, both of Harvey, Darlene Buchwitz, Grand Forks, Ruby Wetzel, Bismarck, and Ardella Short, Las Vegas; two brothers, Lawrence and Victor, both of Harvey.
Emelia Whited
A service of remembrance for Emelia H. (Schaible) Whited, 35, Lincoln, Neb., formerly of Mott, will be held at 10:30 a.m. MDT today at Zoar Congregational Church, Mott, with the Rev. Corey Warner officiating. Burial will be in Sunnyslope Cemetery, Mott.
Visitation will be held at the church one hour before services.
Emelia H. Schaible was born March 20, 1962, in Bismarck, to Reinhold and Helen Schaible. She graduated from Mott High School in 1980. She attended Dickinson State College and received an associate legal secretary degree in 1986. She married Michael Whited Aug. 26, 1988 at Bismarck on the Far West Riverboat. She received a bachelor of arts degree from Jamestown College in 1987. She entered the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in 1995.
Emelia was active in sports, playing on her church softball team, and she loved to play golf. She also enjoyed camping and being outdoors. She was a member and former secretary of St. Andrew's Lutheran Church in Lincoln.
She is survived by her parents, Reinhold and Helen Schaible, Mott; her husband, Michael and daughters, Brittany and Caitlin, all of Lincoln; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Dennis and Brenda, Dickinson, and Steven and Natalie, Orlando, Fla.; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Damaris and Mark Masseth, Bismarck, and Beth Ann Schaible, Mott; her grandmother, Phyllis Lorenz, Lemmon, S.D.; her great-aunt, Arlene Bolke, Lemmon; and numerous other relatives and friends.

He is survived by one sister, Helen Peeler, Lancaster, Calif.
Elsie Emch
LEITH -- Elsie N. Emch, 68, Leith, died May 31, 1997, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 10 a.m. MDT Wednesday at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Carson, with the Rev. Wayne Rouse officiating. Burial will be in Leith Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be her grandchildren, John Kitzman, Daniel "DJ" Kitzman, Nathan Kitzman, Tammy Kitzman, Tanya Emter and Toby Kitzman.
Visitation will be 8 a.m.-9 p.m. Tuesday at Hertz Brothers Funeral Home, New Leipzig.
Elsie was born May 17, 1929, in the Leith countryside to Ludwig and Pauline (Zeller) Neher. She was raised and educated in the Leith area. She married Jake Kitzman, Nov. 14, 1946. They moved around the country with the U.S. Navy and had four sons. Elsie moved back to Leith in 1961. She married Donald E. Emch Sept. 16, 1966, in Leith, where they made their home. She worked at the Leith Cream Station for many years. Her husband, Don, retired from the Soil Conservation Service in 1981. He died at home, May 24, 1993.
Elsie enjoyed being with her friends, gardening and quilting.
She is survived by four sons and three daughters-in-law, Toby and Ella Kitzman, Hot Springs, S.D., Kim and Mary Ann Kitzman, Lawrenceville, Ill., Jerry and Danyle Kitzman, Hazen, and Jay Kitzman and his fiance, Audry Rueb, Mandan; two sisters, Marie Housley, Garland, Utah, and Erna Butler, Brigham City, Utah; one brother, Lawrence Neher, Powell, Wyo.; grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; one brother, John; and two sisters, Emma Keller and Ruth Diehl.
