Pauline Rothschiller
Pauline Rothschiller, 75, Huntington Beach, Calif., formerly of Mandan, died Nov. 11, 1998, in a Huntington Beach hospital. Services will be 10-30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Mandan, with burial in Mandan Union Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Buehler-Larson Funeral Home, Mandan, where a rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
Pauline Lanz was born Aug. 13, 1923, in St. Anthony, the daughter of Michael and Magdalena (Helbling) Lanz. She was raised in the area and attended school in St. Anthony and Mandan. Pauline was married to Francis J. Rothschiller from 1947-1980. She had been a resident of California since 1981.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Mary and Randy Volz, Federal Way, Wash., and Anne and Dennis Helbling, Mandan; eight sons and five daughters-in-law, Frank and Gail, Bismarck, Mike, Huntington Beach, Mark and Dorothy, Mandan, Paul, Mandan, Joe and Carlen, Dickinson, Bob and Laurie, Mandan, and Jake, Bismarck; her grandchildren, Erasmus and Erica Volz, Michael, Kim and Chris Helbling, Elizabeth, Kathy, Matthew and Jennifer Rothschiller, Joe, Sarah, Tanya, Jason and Justin Rothschiller, Alicia and Amanda Rothschiller, Bradley, Shane and Karli Rothschiller, and Cole and Brandi Rothschiller; one great-grandson, Alex; one brother and sister-in-law, Leo and Namsun Lanz, Mandan; one sister, Josephine Meyers, Frazier Park, Calif.; two aunts, Frances Ferderer, Rowland Heights, Calif., and Kate Proctor, Mandan; and many special friends.
She was preceded in death by her son, John; her parents; and 13 brothers and sisters.
Magdalen Morrell
Magdalen Morrell, 79, 108 Second Ave. N.E., Mandan, died Nov. 14, 1998, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mandan, with burial in Mandan Union Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1-9 p.m. Tuesday at Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan, where a rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Tuesday, followed by a parish vigil at 7:30. Visitation will continue Wednesday until time of services.
Magdalen Wetsch was born Sept. 3, 1919, in St. Anthony, the daughter of Joseph and Margaret (Serr) Wetsch. She was raised and educated in St. Anthony. On Oct. 22, 1940, she married Joseph Morrell in St. Anthony. After their marriage they farmed in the Odense area until 1958, when they moved to Mandan.
She is survived by her husband, Joseph; one son, Larry, and his special fried, Pam Boehm, Mandan; one daughter and son-in-law, Nora and Leland Gross, Mandan; five grandchildren, Lori Hoffman, Rhonda and Britt Neibauer and Jesse and Cody Morrell; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, DuWayne "Butch;" three nephews, Bob Wetsch, Joe Brown and Jack Kautzman; two brothers, Tony and Jack; and two sisters, Katherine and Regina.
Betty Posey
Betty Posey, 72, Bismarck, died Nov. 14, 1998, at her home. Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at First Presbyterian Church, Bismarck, with the Rev. Larry Hickle officiating.
Betty Lou Addington was born Aug. 8, 1926, in Wahkon, Minn., the daughter of Roy and Marian (Middlemas) Addington. In 1940, the family moved to Bismarck, where she attended Bismarck High School. She married Tom Posey in 1952, living in Montana and Colorado before returning to Bismarck.
Betty was employed at Q&R Clinic for 30 years before her retirement in 1988. She enjoyed refinishing furniture, reading, art and her trips to the casino.
She was the best Mom in the world!
Grateful for having shared her life are one son, Barry, Omaha, Neb.; two daughters, Shawn Posey, Bismarck, and Sheryl Bertelson, Sedona, Ariz.; two sisters, Helen Pharr, Bismarck, and Reva Bischak, Sterling Heights, Mich.; three brothers, Glen, Mesa, Ariz., Mark, Bismarck, and Dick, Loveland, Colo.; and two grandchildren, Joe and Nicolle.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Donovan and Bob; and one sister, Verona.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to Medcenter One HMR Hospice.

Virgal Tiedman
HEBRON -- Virgal Tiedman, 89, Hebron, died April 4, 1999, at her home. Services will be held at 10-30 a.m. MDT Wednesday at St. John United Church of Christ, Hebron, with the Rev. Thomas A. Zuhlke officiating. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery, Hebron.
Virgal was born on Jan. 12, 1910, in Jamestown, the daughter of Norberto and Lenora (Heinz) Reese. She was raised and educated near Plaza. She attended Jamestown College and earned at teaching degree in 1929. She taught at Sykeston and Cathay schools until 1934, when she came to Hebron to teach. She taught in Hebron Public School and a one-room country school near Hebron. She married Burnie Tiedman on June 22, 1938, at the family farm near Plaza. Following their marriage, they made Hebron their home for the rest of her life.
Mrs. Tiedman was active in Royal Neighbors and the Order of Eastern Star, of which she was a past matron. Music played an important part of her life. She was a soloist in Hebron for many years, singing for weddings, funerals and other musical events. She was a member of the St. John United Church of Christ and sang for many years in the church choir, she was also a past church council member and active in the Women's Guild. She continued to live in her home in good health until her death.
She is survived by her sons, Dennis and Julie Tiedman, Bismarck, and David Tiedman, Millis, Mass.; one daughter, Renee (Jerry) Litzenberger, Snohomish, Wash.; five grandsons, Doug and Kim Tiedman, Steve Tiedman, Brian Litzenberger, Randy and Sarah Litzenberger, and Mark Litzenberger; two great-granddaughters, Madison and Hannah Tiedman; and one niece and one nephew.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Burnie; and one brother.

Kenneth Siems
Kenneth E. Siems, 80, Thermopolis, Wyo., died Jan. 15, 1999. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Thermopolis, with military rites provided by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 2281, and the Rev. Harvey Sidel officiating.
Mr. Siems was born Oct. 30, 1918, in Bismarck. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II with many months served in Alaska. After his discharge from the Army, he was employed by the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation. He retired as a land surveyor with the Civil Service Commission. He married Linnie Luther in Elko, Nev. in 1994. She died in 1998.
He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Eagles Lodge. He enjoyed fishing and woodworking.
He is survived by two stepdaughters, Cynthia Jones, Thermopolis, and Joyce Cooper, Richland, Wash.; one stepson, Ross Burkhart, Somerset, Calif.; one brother, Fred Siems, Bismarck; and three sisters, Irene Johnston, Eunice Paul and Pat Siems, all of Bismarck.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; two brothers, Robert and Roy; and two sisters, Vivian Jacobson and Inez Siems.

Tyler, Gunner Christianson
Tyler and Gunner Christianson, the infant sons of James and Heidi Christianson, were stillborn on April 2, 1999, in a Fargo hospital. Private family services will be held at Sunne Lutheran Church, rural Wilton, with the Rev. Paul Schauer officiating. Burial will be in the spring at St. Mary's Cemetery, Bismarck.
They will be loved and missed forever by their parents, James and Heidi; also a sister, Hannah Christianson; their grandparents, Diane Christianson, Bismarck; Grant and Penny Gorden, Wilton, and Mark Wedin, Grand Forks; and their great-grandparents, Cal Sholes, Grand Forks; and Bob and Phyllis Wedin, Grand Forks.
They were preceded in death by their grandfather, Arnold Christianson; one uncle, Mark Christianson; and their great-grandparents, Anton and Mary Senger, Orris and Norma Christianson, and Lorraine Sholes. (Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck)
Gladys Randell
Gladys R. Randell, 91, formerly of Bismarck, died Dec. 6, 1998, in Tampa, Fla. Services were held in Tampa. Burial was in Denver.
Gladys Rue was born on June 9, 1907, to Charles and Laura Rue in Minneapolis. She moved to the Baldwin area when she was a small child. Gladys taught school for several years in the Trygg Township area and Bismarck, and was a Girl Scout leader as well.
She is survived by her sister, Madeline Rue Smith, El Tora, Calif.; one stepdaughter, Ann Munn, Denver; a stepson, Russell Randell, Romona, Calif., and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Willard Jeannotte
WILLISTON -- Willard Jeannotte, 58, Williston, died April 2, 1999, in the Williston nursing home. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Williston. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Williston.
He is survived by his children, Brenda Oyloe, Debbie Jeannotte, Rayetta Meires, Brett Jeannotte, Nicky Jeannotte; his mother, Nina Jeannotte, Williston; and four brothers and three sisters, Velma Lee, Edward Jeannotte, William Jeannotte, Dorothy Bauste, Dianna Ingersoll, Allen Jeannotte and Randy Jeannotte.
