ENDERLIN -- Gertrude W. Knecht, 92, Enderlin, died Aug. 30, 1998, in a Fargo hospital.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, at Hurdsfield Lutheran Church, Hurdsfield. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill, rural Hurdsfield.

Myrtle Norton
TIOGA -- Myrtle A. Norton, 82, Tioga, died Oct. 7, 1996, in the Dickinson hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at First Lutheran Church, Tioga, with burial in United Cemetery, Tioga.
She is survived by three daughters, Shirley Hanson, South Heart, Bonnie Wolfgram, Belfield, and Carolyn Dahl, Tioga; two sisters, Gladys Peterson and Betty Lutzen, both of Minot; and four brothers, Russell Moe, Tioga, Herman Moe, Spokane, Wash., Leonard Moe, Fessenden, and Joseph Moe, Minot. Alvin Hinkel
Alvin F.J. Hinkel, 75, 620 12th St. S.E., died Oct. 7, 1996, in a Bismarck hospital.
Arrangements are pending at Boelter Funeral Home.
Lydia Neuberger
BEULAH -- Lydia Neuberger, 93, Beulah, died Oct. 6, 1996, in the Glen Ullin nursing home.
Services will be at 10 a.m. MDT Thursday at Zion Lutheran Church, Beulah, with the Rev. Reinhold Markwart officiating. Burial will be in the Beulah Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Dalton Goetz, Melvin Neuberger, Ken Neuberger, Kurt Kessler, Wayne Neuberger and James Neuberger. Kyle Kessler will be the flower bearer.
Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at Seibel Funeral Home, Beulah.
Lydia was born Sept. 30, 1903, at Tripp, S.D., a daughter of George and Katherine (Goetz) Boepple. As a child, she lived for a time with her father at Covington, Okla. In 1917 the family moved to Stanton. During her high school days, Lydia played on the Stanton girl's basketball team. She graduated from Stanton High School in 1921. She then taught in several rural schools in northern Mercer County. On Jan. 10, 1926, she was united in marriage to August A. Neuberger at the former Martin Luther Church, west of Pick City. They lived on a farm near the family homestead. Later, they moved to a farmstead northwest of Beulah. In 1932 she and her husband moved to a farm southeast of Beulah. They lived on three different farms in the Beulah area. In 1941, they purchased the former Sagmiller farm on Otter Creek. The family moved to the present Neuberger farmstead seven miles southeast of Beulah in 1942. The family spent the winter of 1947-1948 in Bismarck. In the spring of 1948 they established their residence in the city of Beulah where she resided for the next 46 years.
Lydia touched the lives of hundreds of children as a church school teacher at Zion Lutheran. The nursery and kindergarten classes were her favorites. Frequently, she served as Bible study leader for her circle. Hobbies included watching TV, cooking, embroidery work, reading and letter writing. Her personal daily diary, relative to daily activities, covers a span of almost 50 years. Her pumpkin pies and chokecherry jellies were always a favorite of her grandchildren.
In April 1991, she was admitted to the Beulah Community Nursing Home. Since June 1, 1994, she had been a resident of Marian Manor Nursing Home, Glen Ullin. Her husband, August, died Nov. 18, 1994. Both of them were active in civic and community affairs and were widely known in the area. Lydia is remembered as the lady who always wore a pill-box hat to worship services and other formal affairs. During the closing five years, she had been an invalid and was confined to a wheelchair. Her earthly life ended at Marian Manor on Oct. 6, six days after her 93rd birthday.
She is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law, The Rev. Gordon and Erma, Bismarck, and Elmer, Beulah; one daughter and son-in-law, Lucille and Garrie Kessler, Bismarck; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Emelia Brasseur, Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.
Lydia was preceded in death by her husband; one daughter, Elaine; one son-in-law, Ervin; one grandson, Brent; two brothers; and five sisters.
The family prefers memorials to ELCA World Hunger Fund or Anne Carlson School in Jamestown.
Leroy Eid
HAZEN -- Leroy Eid, 53, Hazen, died Oct. 7, 1996, in his home of natural causes.
Services will be at 10 a.m. MDT Friday at Peace Lutheran Church, Hazen, with burial in Beulah Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Doris; three sons, Richard, Mandan, and John and Steven, both at home; and one sister, Betty Horning, Osbom, Idaho. (Seibel Funeral Home, Hazen)
Hilmer Rosene
JAMESTOWN -- Hilmer G. Rosene, 88, Jamestown, died Oct. 6, 1996, in the Jamestown hospital.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Lisko Funeral Home, Jamestown, with burial in Dickey Cemetery.
He is survived by one son, Myron, Bismarck; and three daughters, Celia Rosene, San Diego, Paulette Davis, Billings, Mont., and Rebecca Becker, Hays, Kan.

DICKINSON -- Gerald John Collins, 48, Dickinson, died Oct. 7, 1996, in his home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. MDT Thursday at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Dickinson, with burial in the church cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Jane; three sons, Gerald, Houston, Kasey and Kody, both of Dickinson; four brothers, George, Fife Lake, Mich., Gregory, Douglasville, Ga., Glenn, Harrisville, Mich., and Geoffrey, Bremen, Ga.; and five sisters, Geneva Pelton, Mikado, Mich., Gaye Davis, Harrisville, Mich., Geraldine Hupp, Bountiful, Utah, Gracie O'Callaghan, Grand Rapids, Mich., and Glenda Williams, Harrisville, Mich. BEACH -- Mary Isabelle Cadwell, 84, Beach, died Oct. 7, 1996, in Wibaux, Mont.
Services will be at 2 p.m. MDT Thursday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Beach, with burial in Beach Cemetery.
She is survived by her husband, Chris; and one daughter, Grace Halling, Wadena, Minn. (Silvernale-Silha Funeral Home, Beach)
Rudolph Madche
CENTER -- Rudolph Madche, 70, rural Center, died Oct. 6, 1996, in his home of natural causes. Services will be at 1 p.m. today at Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck, with the Rev. Dave Baker officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Bismarck.
There will be visitation after 9 a.m. today at the funeral home.
Rudolph was born Sept. 5, 1926, in Dodge, the son of Jacob and Mary Madche. He married Lois Kost, Sept. 19, 1958, in Everett, Wash. He worked for Snohomish County Road District and Boeing in Washington, before moving back to North Dakota. He raised his family in Martin and Fessenden. In 1994, Rudy and Lois moved to Center.
Rudy's greatest loves were his family, his friends and his animals.
He is survived by his wife, Lois; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Mary and Ed Williams, Bismarck, Valerie and Ted Clement, Jordan, Minn., Amelia and Tobe Larson, Grand Forks, and Rachel Williams, Linton; four sons and daughters-in-law, Charles and Shirley, Bismarck, Raymond and Anita, Ceiba, Puerto Rico, Kevin and Becky, Bismarck, and Joseph and Teresa, Menoken; six granddaughters; 14 grandsons; three sisters, Mary Bahnmiller, Emma Bahmiller and Frieda Boden; numerous nieces and nephews; and family and friends in Germany.
He was preceded in death by his parents; six sisters; five brothers; one grandson, Mitch; and one granddaughter, Holly.
Lorene Peterson
Lorene E. Peterson, 75, Mandan, died Oct. 7, 1996, in a Bismarck hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at First Lutheran Church, Mandan, with the Rev. Richard Hagestuen officiating. Burial will be in North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, rural Mandan.
Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. today at Buehler-Larson Funeral Home, Mandan.
Lorene Esther Schutz was born April 10, 1921, at Eureka, S.D., the daughter of Jacob and Christina (Kemmet) Schutz. She was raised in the area and graduated from Eureka High School in 1938. She then enrolled in the Bismarck Hospital School of Nursing, graduating in 1941. She married Elmer P. Peterson, March 14, 1942, in Glendive, Mont. While Elmer served in the armed forces during World War II, she lived and worked in Texas and New Jersey. They have lived in Mandan since Elmer's discharge in 1945.
She was employed by the Bismarck Hospital, Mandan Hospital, Dr. H.A. Wheeler, the Amoco Refinery and the Heartview Foundation.
Lorene enjoyed sewing, crocheting, reading and crossword puzzles.
She is survived by her husband, Elmer; three sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Jennifer, Milwaukee, Ron and Mary Beth, and Phil and Bonnie, all of Fargo; five grandchildren; and one sister, Ella Ramona Singer, Stockton, Calif.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Alma Mauch, and one infant son, David.
The family prefers memorials to First Lutheran Church Building Fund.
