Kenneth Hoger
NEW SALEM -- Kenneth G. Hoger, 61, died of natural causes, Jan. 28, 1998, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be 10 a.m. MST Friday at Zion Lutheran Church, New Salem, with the Rev. Loren Strum officiating. Committal services will be 3 p.m. Friday at North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, rural Mandan, with military rites by Mandan Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion posts.
Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. today at Buehler-Larson Funeral Home, New Salem, and will continue at the church one hour before services.
Kenneth was born Sept. 19, 1936, near New Salem, the son of Arno and Margie (Wolf) Hoger. He was raised in the area and graduated from New Salem High School. He then attended Bismarck Commercial College.
He served in the U.S. Army on active duty from 1954-1956, spending 18 months in Germany. The remainder of his military obligation was spent in the U.S. Army Reserves.
He married Judith Tisor, Aug. 21, 1960. He was the New Salem Postmaster for 24 years. Kenny was active in various New Salem community organizations and since he loved to sing, was a member of Centennial Singers for 10 years.
He was named the Outstanding Disabled Citizen of Morton County in 1992 and was awarded the Distinguished Service Award from the New Salem Jaycees.
An active member of Zion Lutheran Church, Kenny also served as the 7th District Commander of the North Dakota American Legion during 1989-1990. He had also been a member of the New Salem Lions Club for many years.
Kenny is survived by his wife, Judy; two daughters and one son-in-law, Tammy and Bill Linder, Sidney, Mont., and Wendy Hoger, Crosby; two grandchildren, Kenneth and Amara Linder; his mother, Margie Hoger; one sister and brother-in-law, Ella and Roy Tomanek, Mandan; two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Hoger, New Salem, and Nicky Hoger, Mandan; one sister-in-law and two brothers-in-law, Helen and Kenny Klusmann, New Salem, and Paul Rider, Sacramento, Calif.; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Ruby and Lester Tisor, Medora; and 10 nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father; two brothers, Lawrence and Bill; and one niece, Tracy Klusmann.
Debra Ike
WILLISTON - Debra Ike, 42, Williston, died of cancer Jan. 28, 1998, in the Williston hospital. Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Williston, with burial in Riverview Cemetery, Williston.
She is survived by her husband, Steven; two children, Jonathan and Amanda, both at home; her mother, Betty Wegleitner, Williston; four brothers, Robert Wegleitner and Paul Wegleitner, both of Williston, John Wegleitner, Dickinson, and LaVerne Wegleitner, Corona, Calif.; and seven sisters, Betty Rogers, Egg Harbor, Wis., Kathleen Gartner, New England, Donna Kubisiak, Crete, Neb., Mary Nygard, Hazen, Lorraine Wegleitner, Dickinson, Karen Heller, Milwaukee, Wis., and Carol Bruce, Williston. Rebecca Larsen, 37, 8707 Palomino Drive, died Jan. 28, 1998, in a Bismarck hospital. Arrangements are pending at Eastgate Funeral Service.
Michael Logelin
Michael Howard Logelin, 29, Bismarck, died of natural causes on Jan. 23, 1998, in a Bismarck hospital. A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Bismarck Funeral Home, with the Rev. Ben Dove officiating. Cremation has taken place and burial will be in the spring at Rosehill Memorial Cemetery, Minot.
Michael was born January 26, 1968, in Minot, the son of Marilyn (Gehring) Logelin. Michael lived at the State School in Grafton, which is now known as the Developmental Center, from the ages of 3-8 years.
When Michael was eight years old, he moved to Bismarck with his guardian family and attended the Bismarck Public School System until the age of 21. Michael continued to reside with his guardian family until his death.
Michael is survived by his mother and two biological sisters and one brother, all of Minot.
Michael is also survived by his guardian family, Tom and Liz Sweet, and their children, Laure, Susanne and Thomas, all of Bismarck.

Bernett Rath
Bernett Rath, 62, Bismarck, died Jan. 28, 1998, in a Bismarck hospital. Arrangements are pending at Buehler-Larson Funeral Home, Mandan.
Michael Rebenitch
Michael A. Rebenitch, 88, Green Bay, Wis., died Jan. 27, 1998, in a Green Bay nursing home. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Francis Xavier Cathedral, Green Bay, with burial in Nicolet Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Michael was born Aug. 6, 1909, in Austria, to John and Theresa Rebenitsch. He moved to the United States when he was an infant with his family and settled in North Dakota.
On June 18, 1935, he married Evelyn Huncosky in Huff. In 1940 Mr. and Mrs. Rebenitch moved to Appleton, Wis.
During World War II he served in the U.S. Army. After the war, he returned to Appleton and was employed at Fairmont Foods until his retirement in 1968.
After his retirement, Mr. and Mrs. Rebenitch moved to Green Bay. He then worked at McMAster-Fahlstrom. Mr. Rebenitch was a member of American Legion Sullivan-Wallen Post No. 11 and was a member of St. Francis Xavier Cathedral Parish.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn; one daughter and son-in-law, Dianne and Jim Destiche, Green Bay; he was Granpa Reb to five grandchildren and their spouses, Kurt and Lisa Destiche, Atlanta, Kari and Dan Alvey, Green Bay, Kim Destiche Anderson and her husband, Dave Anderson, Browning, Mont., Lynn and Bill Spice, Wausau, Dave and Sheri Destiche, Maple Grove, Minn.; six great-grandchildren, Danielle, Christopher, Scott, Matthew, Olivia and Sam; one brother and sister-in-law, Leonard and Lucy, Fort Rice; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, John, Paul, Carl and Joseph; and four sisters, Katherine Theuer, Theresa Bauer, Anna Bendish and Agnes Rebenitsch. (Blaney Funeral Home, Green Bay)
Richard Schuler
Richard A. Schuler, 34, Phoenix, died Jan. 26, 1998. A memorial service will be held Friday in Phoenix.
Richard was born Aug. 13, 1963, in Bismarck, the son of Armion and Ethel (Welch) Schuler. He attended schools in Bismarck, graduating from Century High School in 1981.
Richard worked for Northern Improvement after high school. In 1986 he moved to San Diego and worked for various construction companies in the area.
On Dec. 22, 1989, Richard married Lani Fernandez in San Diego. They moved to Phoenix in 1994.
Richard enjoyed fishing and outdoor activities.
He is survived by his wife, Lani; his son, Cody; his daughter, Alicia Oakland, Bismarck; his parents, Armion and Ethel Schuler, Bismarck; his grandmothers, Bertha Schuler, Mandan, and Bertha Myers, Bismarck; one brother and sister-in-law, Melvin "Corky" and Maria Miller, El Paso, Texas; five sisters-in-law and four brothers-in-law, Cindy and David Brown, Pinehurst, Idaho, Dawn and Dale Hardy, Center, Cherryl and Opie Sorrell, Abilene, Kan., Ambre and Robert Haas, Bismarck, and Marcia Barnes, Bismarck; and numerous aunts, uncles, nephews and nieces.
Richard was preceded in death by his grandparents, Albert Schuler, Ida Dohn, Melvin Welch and Arthur Bender.
Richard will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends, and anyone who was touched by his warm and caring smile.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Ronald McDonald House in Bismarck.
Emma Wiest
Emma Wiest, 90, formerly of Bismarck, died Jan. 27, 1998, in the Wishek hospital. Services will be 1:30 p.m. Friday at Bismarck Reformed Church, with the Rev. Maury Millican officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck.
Visitation will be from 4-9 p.m. today and 9-11 a.m. Friday at Eastgate Funeral Service, and will continue at the church one hour before services.
Emma Stern was born March 17, 1907, on a farm near Zeeland to Jacob and Katherina (Schiermeister) Stern. She grew to womanhood on the farm and received her elementary education in a rural school.
On Dec. 12, 1929, she married Theodore "Ted" Wiest. They farmed northeast of Zeeland until the fall of 1957. They sold their farm and moved to Bismarck. Mr. Wiest died April 9, 1979.
Emma continued to live in her home in Bismarck. She was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed quilting, crocheting and cooking.
She was a member of Bismarck Reformed Church, Women of the Church and the Friendship Club.
In November 1994 she moved to the Kensington in Bismarck. She lived there for more than two years before moving to the Wishek nursing home in March 1997.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Lorraine and Ray Jund, Mandan, and Arlene and Erwin Miller, Kulm; four grandchildren, Vaughn Jund, Bismarck, Susan (Jund) Peters and her husband, Scott, Casselton, Lance Miller and his wife, Della, Apple Valley, Minn., and Lanay Miller and her fiance, Jack Webb, Chisago City, Minn.; one great-granddaughter, Lauren Miller; one brother, Herman Stern, Bismarck; four sisters, Adeline Jundt, Bismarck, Ida Woehl, Wishek, and Leah Thompson and Rachel Norman, Torrance, Calif.; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ted; and two brothers, George and Walter Stern.
