Herbert Weisser

Dr. Reynaldo Aligada Sr.
JAMESTOWN -- Dr. Reynaldo Aligada Sr., a former superintendent of the State Hospital at Jamestown, died Sunday, Jan. 11, in Fargo.
Mr. Aligada moved to North Dakota in 1975 to become regional medical director at the State Hospital. He was named acting superintendent in 1981 and superintendent in 1982, a position he held until 1986. He was serving as a psychiatrist for the South Central Regional Human Services Center at Jamestown at the time of his death.
Funeral services will be held at noon Wednesday at the Basilica of St. James in Jamestown with interment at Calvary Cemetery, Jamestown. Visitation is from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. today at Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown. A prayer service will be held at 7 tonight at the Basilica of St. James.
Reynaldo Antoine Aligada was born Jan. 7, 1925, at Ibajay, Aklan, Philippines, a son of Arturo and Teofila (Antoine) Aligada. He was educated and received his medical degree in the Philippines. He did residencies in Massachusetts. He married Connie Hillebrand on Feb. 24, 1973, at Ionia, Mich.
Survivors include his wife; five children, Reynaldo Jr., St. John's University, Collegeville, Minn., Jonathan, Jamestown, Rosalyn Aligada, Exeter, N.H.; Carolyn Aligada, Phoenix, Ariz., and Arthur, Seattle; three sisters, Dolores Reyes and Maria Fortuna Aligada, both of Manila, Philippines, and Maria Isabella Fernandez, Pangasinan, Philippines; two brothers, Arturo Jr., Manila, and Nicolas, Rowland Heights, Calif.
Raymond Schultz
STEELE -- Raymond Schultz, 75, Steele, died Jan. 10, 1998, at his home. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Steele, with the Rev. Sharon Kapsch officiating.
Visitation will be from noon-9 p.m. today, and 9 a.m.-8 p.m. Wednesday, both at Eastgate Steele Chapel. A private family prayer service will be held at 8 p.m. Wednesday at Eastgate Steele Chapel.
Ray was born Aug. 24, 1922, in Logan County, the son of Gottfried and Emma (Becker) Schultz. He married Violet Koehler on Dec. 18, 1944. Ray worked at various places before purchasing the family farm north of Steele. There they raised their four children. After selling the farm in 1974, Ray and Violet moved to Steele. He drove the school bus for 10 years before completely retiring. Violet passed away in August of 1988.
Ray is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Elaine and Frank Schneider, Tuttle, and Sylvia and Delbert Thompson, Wheatland, Wyo.; two sons and daughters-in-law, Ronald and Kathy, Mobridge, S.D., and Victer and Anita, Elgin; nine grandchildren, Valerie Schneider, Brian Schneider and his wife, Jill, Lora Mertz and her husband, Brian, Vicki Schneider and special friend, William Lewis, Ryan Schultz and his wife, Jennifer, Stacy Schultz and his wife, Kathy, Rhonda Berhow and her husband, Nick, Lynn Schultz, and Lisa Schultz; eight great-grandchildren, Ashlee, Elizabeth and Erica Schneider, Brandon Mertz, Kaitlynn and Jake Schultz, Vianna Berhow, and Alyssa Schultz; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Alvin and Edna Schultz, Steele, John Schultz, and Arnold and Daniella Schultz, all of Billings, Mont.; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Florence and Bob Miller, and Polly Lei, all of Billings; and many relatives and friends.

Vera Schneider
Vera Dannette Schneider, 66, 1102 E. Ave. C, Bismarck, died Jan. 11, 1998, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at noon Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Bismarck, the Rev. Charlie Heidt officiating. Burial will be in the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, rural Mandan.
Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. Wednesday, with a vigil service said at 7 that evening, both at Perry Funeral Home, Mandan.
Vera was born on Nov. 13, 1931, in Wing, to Daniel and Alma (Eskelie) Wahlman. She was raised and educated in the Wing and Sterling area. She graduated from Bismarck High School in 1948. She married Joseph F. Schneider in Bismarck, on Sept. 15, 1949.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. She was an energetic homemaker, "domestic engineer," and everyone marveled at her creativity, cooking abilities and zest for life. She was a mother and best friend to all who knew her. She will be dearly missed.
She is survived by her husband, Joseph; four daughters, Marcia Schneider, Raymond, Wash., Cheri Schneider and Erin Schneider, both of Bismarck, and Therese Morgenstern, Beulah; six sons and one daughter-in-law, Terry, Sterling, Kevin and Diana, Bloomfield, N.M., Joel, Pierre, S.D., Daniel and Corey, both of Bismarck, and Theodore, Mandan; four sisters, Wilma Jodsaas, Colestrip, Mont., Irma Schlabach, Driscoll, Lila Ashmore, Black Eagle, Mont., and Eileen Larson, Bismarck; one brother, Daniel Wahlman, Center; 19 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Dorothy McCloskey
MINOT -- Dorothy L. McCloskey, 85, Minot, died Jan. 10, 1998, in a Minot hospital. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Congregational United Church of Christ, Minot. Burial will be in Granville Community Cemetery, Granville.
She is survived by two sons, Roger, Riverdale, and Edwin, Garrison; one daughter, Carol Kundo, Frazee, Minn.; and one brother, Lynn Robinson, Stanwood, Wash.
Jean Webster
GARRISON -- Jean Webster, 80, Garrison, died Jan. 11, 1998, in a Garrison nursing home. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Harold Franklin
Harold "Denny" Glen Franklin, 69, Glendive, Mont., died Jan. 11, 1998, in a Glendive hospital. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, at Assembly of God Church, Glendive, with the Revs. Dennis "Mike" Franklin and Don Fercho officiating. Burial will be in Dawson County Cemetery, Glendive.
Denny was born on Nov. 29, 1928, in Parson, Kan., the son of Clayton and Ethel (Norton) Franklin. He was raised and educated in Parsons. He moved to Montana in 1943, where he was employed in the oil fields from 1948 to 1968. During that time, he was employed by Sun Oil Field Company and later he owned and operated Franklin Hot Oil Service, based out of Plentywood, Mont. On Feb. 28, 1948, he married Delma VanDyke in Roundup, Mont. In 1968, they moved to Jamestown, where he and his wife owned Benson and Franklin Florist. In December of 1971, they moved to Linton, where they owned Willow's Motel until June of 1987, when they moved to Wibaux, Mont. They then settled in Glendive, in 1990. While living in Glendive, they owned Franklin Enterprises, which is a wholesale dealership for fossils, gems and minerals.
Denny was very active in his church and loved being servant of God. He had served as head usher, and had been a Sunday School teacher for many years at the Assembly of God Church. He was always very considerate and caring with people and would go out of his way to help them. Denny and Delma had acted as foster parents for many years. He had served as treasurer for the local chapter of the Gideons.
He is survived by his wife, Delma; two daughters, Shirley Sprenger and her husband, Dennis, Jamestown, and Peggy Gaub and her husband, Marvin, Bowman; four sons, Dennis and Linda, Glendive, John and Mitch, both of Aberdeen, S.D., and Robert, Pensacola, Fla.; two brothers, Eldon, Kansas, and Robert, Modesto, Calif.; and one sister, Jean; 17 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. William Woodbury
CARSON -- William Waldo Woodbury, 71, Carson, died Jan. 11, 1998, at his home after an apparent heart attack. Services will be held at 1 p.m. MST Thursday, at First Presbyterian Church, Carson, with the Rev. Ken Trana officiating. Burial will be in Carson Community Cemetery.
Visitation will be from noon until the time of service on Thursday.
Pallbearers will be Shawn, Tyler, Walt and Kyle Woodbury, and Spence and Jake Koenig. Honorary pallbearers will be Jessie, Hailey, and Heidi Vanlishout, Nicole Glines, Wade, Cassie, Allison and Jordan Woodbury, Heather Muggli, and Holly, Laci, Timbere and Kody Koenig.
William was born on May 10, 1926, to Waldo and Minnie (Brinkman) Woodbury, in Carson. The family lived on various farms surrounding the Brisbane-Carson area, where Bill was raised and educated in country schools.
Bill married Dorothy May Bonogofsky, on April 10, 1948. They farmed and ranched, as well as raised their family 18 miles south of Carson until their retirement in 1980. Bill then made his home in Carson until his death.
He enjoyed traveling around the community, and visiting many friends and relatives.
He is survived by his former wife, Dorothy Woodbury, Billings, Mont., three sons and daughters-in-law, Lloyd and Joan (Gappert) Woodbury, Morristown, S.D., Lorin and Sandy (Fuchs) Woodbury, and Russell and Colette (Rauscher) Woodbury, all of Carson; one daughter and son-in-law, Eileen and Mark Koenig, Carson; one sister and brother-in-law, Doris and Norman Pfliiger and family, Carson; 15 grandchildren; four great great-grandchildren; and other special relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two grandchildren.
Marion Dwyer
Marion Dwyer, 87, Bismarck, died Jan. 13, 1998, in a Bismarck nursing home. Services will be held at 11 a.m Friday, at Eastgate Funeral Service Chapel, Bismarck, with the Capt. Chuck Hendrickson officiating. Spring burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, at Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck.
Marion was born Nov. 18, 1910, in Bismarck the daughter of James and Marion (McMillian) Longmuir. She spent most of her life in Bismarck. As a young girl, she spent one year in Scotland and then returned home. She married John Dwyer Sr. on Aug. 5, 1933. Except for living in Fargo for two years, they lived in Bismarck.
Along with being a devoted housewife and raising six children, she worked various times at Woolworths and The Sweetheart Bakery. While her children were growing up, she was very active in the PTA.
She will always be remembered for her optimism and her Christian attitude towards everything she said and did.
She is survived by two daughters and one son-in-law, Virginia and Earl Schuler, Pine City, Minn., and Lois Diehl, Lansing, Mich.; two sons and daughters-in-law, Dave and Kathy, Bismarck, and Tom and Cindy, Mandan; one daughter-in-law, Marlene Dwyer, Parshall; one brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Mary Longmuir, Bismarck; and one sister, Vange Balzer, Bismarck; 17 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

Rose Hoffman
Rose M. Hoffman, 82, Minneapolis, formerly of Mandan, died Jan. 12, 1998, at her home. A memorial mass will be held at noon Friday, at Basilica of St. Mary, Minneapolis. Burial will be in a Mandan cemetery.
Rose was born in Mandan. She was a former Gold Seal employee in Bismarck, and moved to Minneapolis, where she retired from the Prudential Insurance Company.
She was a member of Secular Franciscan Order, Daughters of Isabel, and the Basilica Omegas.
She is survived by one sister, Margorie Mullins, Renton, Wash.; one sister-in-law, Frances K. Hoffman, Mandan, 14 nieces and nephews; many grand nieces and nephews; and many dear friends.
She is preceded in death by one brother, Frank J. Hoffman, Mandan; and one sister, Marie Knight, Renton.
