Bernice Barland
COLEHARBOR -- Bernice A. Barland, 75, Coleharbor, died May 7, 1997, at her home, after a lengthy illness. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, at St. Edwin's Catholic Church, Washburn. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Washburn.
She is survived by her husband, Leroy, Coleharbor; two daughters, Janice Barland, Coleharbor, and Margaret Stadick, Beulah; one sister, Vivian Hibbing, Denver; and two brothers, Leroy Bennett, Poway, Calif., and William Bennett, Beulah. (Goetz Funeral Home, Washburn)

NEW SALEM -- Harlow Haverkamp, 67, New Salem, died May 8, 1997, in the New Salem nursing home. Arrangements are pending at Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan.
Lois Heimer
Lois Heimer, 87, Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center, died May 8, 1997, in the nursing home. Services will be held at 11 a.m. MDT Monday at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Flasher. Further arrangements are pending at Eastgate Funeral Service.
Caroline Henke
Caroline Hauff Henke, 95, Bismarck Baptist Home, died May 7, 1997, in the nursing home.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Bismarck Baptist Home Chapel, with the Rev. Clyde Leimberer officiating.
Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Bismarck.
She was born July 27, 1901, in Calhlu, Romania, the daughter of Gottlieb and Mary (Berg) Hauff.
She came to the United States with her parents; four brothers; and six sisters.
The family homesteaded north of Golden Valley, where she worked on the family farm with her parents until her marriage to William Henke on Jan. 1, 1925.
They made their home on a farm located between her parents' and his parents' homes where they raised their family of seven children.
William died May 25, 1955, leaving her to raise the youngest of the children, Danny, who was six years old. On April 1, 1965, Caroline had a osteotmy of her hip and upon dismissal from the hospital she entered the Bismarck Baptist Home where she continued to live.
During the many years at the home she enjoyed visiting with other residents, family and friends.
She crocheted many afghans for family and friends and enjoyed reading her Bible and singing old German gospel songs.
Her favorite scriptures were Psalm 23 and the Lord's Prayer.
She is survived by four sons, Ervin, Clarksburg, W.V., Walter and Daniel, both of Englewood, and Robert, Denver; three daughters, Evangeline K. Williams, Greenville, S.C., Eleanare Johnson, Oakridge, Ore., and Marion Heit, Englewood; one brother, Herman, Beulah; one sister, Sophia Hauff, Golden Valley; 15 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded by three brothers and five sisters.
Her favorite quotation was, "I'm OK. I have everything I need -- for eternity." (Boelter Funeral Home)
Beverly Zeh
Beverly C. Zeh, 74, 1441 Richmond Drive, died May 7, 1997, in a Bismarck hospital.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Faith Lutheran Church, Bismarck, with the Rev. James Sorenson officiating.
Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at Eastgate Funeral Service, and will continue at the church one hour before services.
Beverly Tolpingrud was born Nov. 22, 1922, in Halliday, the daughter of Peter and Olga (Reiersgaard) Tolpingrud.
She graduated from Werner High School in 1941.
She attended Dickinson State Teachers College in 1942 and taught school for six years.
She then moved to Bismarck and did secretarial work at several places until 1974.
Beverly married Elmer Zeh, Dec. 16, 1960.
They lived in Bismarck.
She had been a member of Faith Lutheran Church since 1960.
She is survived by her husband, Elmer; one daughter and son-in-law, Patricia Ann and Larry Loveless, Brookings, Ore.; two brothers, Al, San Diego, Calif., and Duane, Seattle, Wash.; five granddaughters, Lorry Schmaltz, Alica and Michael Wood, and Robyn, Debra and Melissia Loveless, all of Brookings, Ore.; seven great-grandchildren, Jason Schmaltz, Michael Wood, Tyler Wood, Ashlee Loveless, Justin Murry, Dylan Smalley and Brandon Smalley; and special friends, Emma Holzer, and Mr. and Mrs. Chris Oldenburg.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her older brother, Kenneth.
Charles Murray
Charles F. Murray, 78, 926 Parkview Drive, died May 8, 1997, in a Bismarck hospital.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Cathedral of the Holy Spirit, Bismarck, with the Rev. Thomas E. Kramer officiating.
Burial will be at 3 p.m. Monday at North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan, with military rites by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 1326, Bismarck.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at Eastgate Funeral Service, where a vigil service will begin at 8 tonight.
Chuck was born Dec. 1, 1918, in Gary, Ind., the son of Frank and Margaret (Kohoutek) Murray.
He served as a radar man in the U.S. Navy in the South Pacific during World War II.
He was an auditor for Farmers Union Oil Co. in western North Dakota and eastern Montana for 40 years.
He married Clare Thiele, Nov. 10, 1947, in Miles City, Mont.
He is survived by his wife, Clare; one daughter and son-in-law, Craig and Michele Giese; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Mark and Margaret LoMurray, and Kelly; four grandchildren, Kate Giese, and Lisa, Keith and Scott LoMurray; and one sister and brother-in-law, Alvin and Helen Ode, all of Bismarck.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Margaret; and one granddaughter, Greta.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials.
Elsie Jenner
MOTT -- Services for Elsie R. Jenner, 91, Mott, will be held at 10 a.m. MDT Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Mott, with burial in Sunnyslope Cemetery, Mott.
She is survived by two daughters, Irene Fink, Clinton, Iowa, and Leona Schmitt, Mott; one son, Milton, Omaha, Neb.; one sister, Adela Pfeifle, Ashley; and one brother, Fred Graff, Hosmer, S.D. (Evanson-Jensen Funeral Home, Mott)
Rosabelle Tauer
Services were held Monday for Rosabelle K. Tauer, 81, who died May 5, 1997, in Portland, Ore.
Mrs. Tauer was born May 21, 1915, in Washburn, to Gertrude and Frank Westmiller.
She graduated from Underwood High School and attended business college in Minot.
She married Edwin Tauer in 1942 when he was in the service and returned to Underwood where he was a sign painter and farmed.
They moved to Portland in 1968, to Bismarck in 1976, and back to Portland in 1992.
She is survived by her husband, Edwin; two daughters, Sandra Perry, Bismarck, and LeAnn Tauer, Portland; three sons, Lowell Flowers, Washburn, and John Tauer and Lee Tauer, both of Gresham, Ore.; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Burial was in Williamette National Cemetery, Gresham. (Perry Funeral Home, Mandan)

HAZEN -- James H. Daugherty, 69, Hazen, died May 7, 1997, in his home after a long illness.
A private family service will be held at North Dakota Veterans Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Rita; five sons, Jim, John and James, all of Florida, and Robert and Kenneth, both of Wooster, Ohio; four daughters, Barb and Tara, both of Florida, and Linda and Glenda, both of Wooster; five sisters, Pansy Lease, Gladys Martin, Mildred McFarland and Ruby Mizer, all of Wooster, and Margaret Gisinger, Newark, Ohio; and one brother, Clifton, Wooster.
