Leo Doll
GLEN ULLIN -- Leo Doll, 84, Glen Ullin, died Nov. 12, 1996, in Glen Ullin. Services will be at 10-30 a.m. MST Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Glen Ullin, with burial in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3 p.m. today at the church, where a vigil and rosary will begin at 7 tonight.
Leo was born March 27, 1912, near Glen Ullin, the son of Nick and Barbara (Helbing) Doll. He was raised and educated in the St. Joe area, rural Glen Ullin. On Oct. 5, 1937, he married Julia Gaab at Odence. They settled on a farm north of Glen Ullin, which they bought in 1947. After his retirement, Leo moved into Glen Ullin, where he resided until entering Marian Manor Nursing Home in Glen Ullin, in September 1995. Julia died in 1989.
He was a member of Knights of Columbus.
He is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law, Ed and Margie, Minneapolis, Robert and Paula, Bismarck, and Ronald, Minneapolis; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Delores and Jerry Weber, Center, Irene and Tim McCoy, Norfolk, Neb., and Lillian Doll, Minneapolis; 15 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Nick, Glen Ullin, Pete, Mandan, and John, Seattle; and two sisters, Mary Erhardt, Glen Ullin, and Bertha Doll, Bismarck.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; and three sisters.
Joseph Weisbeck
Joseph A. Weisbeck, 56, Bismarck, died Nov. 12, 1996, in a Bismarck nursing home. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Ascension Catholic Church, with the Rev. Marvin Klemmer officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Bismarck.
A rosary and vigil will begin at 7 p.m. Friday at Bismarck Funeral Home.
Joe was born May 19, 1940, at Knox, the son of Pete and Elizabeth (Ripplinger) Weisbeck. He was raised on a farm at Knox. He spent 24 years in law enforcement in the Devils Lake Police Department, Kidder County Sheriffs Department and the Bismarck Police Department. He retired in 1985 for health reasons, and he and his family operated Weisbeck's Family Restaurant for a number of years. He had been with Waddell and Reed Financial Service for the past eight years.
He was a member of Eagles and Knights of Columbus. He was very active in the KC and held various offices in the Third and Fourth Degree, including Grand Knight of the Devils Lake Council and Faithful Navigator of the Bismarck Fourth Degree Assembly. He also was district deputy, state membership director, state advocate and served as the state master of the fourth degree for four years.
He married Kathleen Piatz in 1961.
He is survived by his wife; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Peter, and Frank and June, all of Bismarck; one daughter, Jolaine ``Jo," Bismarck; three grandchildren, Samantha, Alyssa and Tanner, all of Bismarck; one brother, Bill, Devils Lake; and four sisters, Caroline Hoffert, Rugby, Eva Theisen, Minneapolis, Theresa Schneibel, Minneapolis, and Elizabeth Hoffert, Rugby.
He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers; and three sisters.
The family prefers memorials to the Knights of Columbus Foundation or Ascension Parish Building Fund.
Margaret Heinz
Margaret Heinz, 90, St. Vincent's Care Center, Bismarck, died Nov. 12, 1996, in the nursing home. Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at St. Anne's Catholic Church, Bismarck, with the Rev. Ed Wehner officiating. Burial will be at 4 p.m. Friday in St. Martin's Cemetery, Center.
Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. today at Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan, where a Knights of Columbus rosary will be said at 7 tonight, followed by a parish vigil at 7:30. Visitation will continue from 9 a.m. to noon Friday.
Margaret (Schmidt) Heinz was born Jan. 6, 1906, in Center, the daughter of Simon and Mathilda (Mosbrucker) Schmidt. She was raised and educated in Center. She married Fred Heinz on Nov. 22, 1927, in Center. They farmed in the Center and Stanton areas moving into Center in 1936. She moved to Mandan in 1983 and has been a resident of St. Vincent's Care Center the past three years.
Margaret was a member of Center Circle Homemakers Club, St. Martin's Altar Society and Mandan Golden Age.
She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Wayne and Margaret, Bismarck, Gene and Ann, Billings, Mont., and Jerome and LaVerne, El Paso, Texas; two daughters and one son-in-law, Beverly Jackman, Billings, and Cindy and Cliff Leinius, Bismarck; 19 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, George, Mandan, and Pete, Bismarck; and one sister, Rose Erhardt, Mandan.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Fred, who died in 1982; two sons, Ron and Frank; one daughter, Dorothy; one son-in-law, Bruce Jackman; two grandchildren, Chad Leinius and Kyle Heinz; four brothers; and three sisters.
Margaret had a special talent and gift in needlework, crocheting and as a seamstress. All of these talents were self-taught. She had a great love for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her top priority was to see that her children receive an education beyond high school. Margaret will be greatly missed by all who knew her and her family.
Edward Baumgartner
Edward Baumgartner, 74, 107 E. Bowen Ave., died Nov. 11, 1996, in a Bismarck hospital after a long illness. Services will be at noon Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Bismarck, with burial in St. Mary's Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at Bismarck Funeral Home, where a vigil will begin at 7 tonight. Visitation will continue at the church one hour before services.
Edward was born Dec. 21, 1921, to Frank J. and Mary (Stack) Baumgartner near Strasburg, one of 18 children. He married Frances Miller, Oct. 2, 1950, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, rural Linton.
He is survived by his loving wife, Frances; four sons and two daughters-in-law, Dennis and Helen, Edward, and Richard and Karen, all of Mandan, Allen and Carol, Napoleon; nine daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Jane and Richard Engst, Milnor, Luella and Allen Faulkner, Mobridge, S.D., Marlene and Gerold Thurn, Lincoln, Sally and Miles Schantz, Hebron, Elsie and Jay Seeberg, Lincoln, Nancy and Afshin Azhari, College Station, Texas, and Beverly and Pete Horner, Cinthia and Kevin Johnson, and Sherri and Aden Anderson, all of Bismarck; 24 grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; his mother, Mary, of the Strasburg nursing home; five brothers, Jake, Herman, Oscar, Alvin and Frank; and six sisters, Angeline, Lorraine, Rosemary, Virginia, Isabel and Adeline.
He was preceded in death by his father; four brothers; two sisters; and one granddaughter.

Jacob Kelsch, 87, Linton, died Nov. 12, 1996, in the Linton hospital. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Linton, with burial in the church cemetery.
He is survived by four sons, Raymond, Linton, Nick, Richardton, Jerome and Richard, both of Bismarck; six daughters, Theresa Tschosik, Kathy Imdieke and Phyllis Rosendahl, all of Linton, Mary Ann Baumgartner, Strasburg, Lucille Just, Wishek, and Anella Schumacher, Rawlings, Wyo.; one brother, Pius, Linton; and two sisters, Elizabeth Schmidt, Linton, and Sister Aurelianne Kelsch, St. Cloud, Minn. She is survived by two sisters-in-law; and loving nieces, nephews; great-nieces and nephews; great-great-nieces and nephews; and many loving, caring and supportive friends.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Walter, George and Harold Lind; and two sisters, Hazel Bruce and Mildred Lind.

Leo Clairmont
Leo P. Clairmont, 64, 514 N. 27th St., died Nov. 14, 1996, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Church of St. Anne, Bismarck, with the Rev. Ed Wehner officiating. Burial will be in North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, rural Mandan, with military rites by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 1326.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today and 1 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck.
Leo was born Dec. 7, 1931, in Pembina County, the son of Emile and Mae (Bisenius) Clairmont. He was raised on the family farm near Walhalla and graduated from Park River High School. On Jan. 10, 1952, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served until his honorable discharge, Dec. 22, 1955. He returned to the family farm for several years and then went into the construction industry. In 1964 he married Elsie Mattis in Hettinger. Leo worked in the construction industry for more than 30 years.
He was a member of AMVETS, VFW, American Legion and Eagles. Leo enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Elsie; one son and daughter-in-law, Chuck and Lisa, Bismarck; one daughter, Dana Clairmont, Bismarck; five grandchildren, Crystal, Angela, Venita, Zenala and Tyler; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Bill and Pat, Bismarck, Bud and Beverly, Walhalla, and Ray and Evy, McAllen, Texas; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Gloria and Emil Gendreau, Walhalla, and LaRae and Leo Hornung, Walhalla; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister and one brother.
