Donald Little
Donald H. Little, 84, 1110 Mandan St., died March 14, 1997, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Lutheran Church, Bismarck, with the Rev. Ron Gladen officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck.

Visitation will be from 2-9 p.m. Monday and 9-11 a.m. Tuesday at Perry Funeral Home, Mandan, and will continue at the church one hour before services.

Donald was born Feb. 17, 1913, the son of Herbert and Elsie (Nixon) Little. He was raised in Baldwin and attended school in Wilton. He married Lila Andahl, Sept. 10, 1940, in Bismarck. Don was employed by Bardweil Robinson and later by the Celotex Corp. He was named the Celotex Salesman of the Year in 1968 and the North Dakota Retail Lumberman's Salesman of the Year in 1970. He retired in 1980.

Don was a member of First Lutheran Church and a life member of the Elks.

He is survived by his wife, Lila; three daughters and sons-in-law, Donnie and Jim Wald, Bismarck, Daureen and Dave Heinsohn, Chetek, Wis., and Daralyn and Vic Stiefel, Bismarck; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Irma and George Hoff, Helena, Mont., and Myrtle and Ray Lenihan, Fresno, Calif.; five grandchildren and their spouses, Eric and Benita Wald, Bismarck, Paula and Toby Rivera, Boise, Idaho, Lisa and Rob Ansley, Bismarck, Shila Stiefel, Dickinson, and Jessie Stiefel, Bismarck; four step-grandchildren and their spouses, Dana and Todd Hainer, Nancy and Cory Prissel, Michelle and Scott Mann, and Diane Tripp; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Don's greatest love was his family, and he had a special love for the small children. He was fortunate to have had grandchildren and great-grandchildren to entertain with magic tricks and tall tales. Don enjoyed hunting and working in his yard.

He was proceeded in death by his parents; two brothers, Clifford and Lawrence; and two sisters, Lyland Breen and Ethel Brown.

Stanley Patera
Stanley J. Patera, 89, 1120 S. Third St., died March 14, 1997, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Church of the Ascension, Bismarck, with the Rev. Marvin Klemmer officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Bismarck.

Visitation will be from 2-7 p.m. today at Bismarck Funeral Home, where a rosary will be said at 7 tonight. Visitation will resume one hour before services at the church.

Stanley was born Oct. 5, 1907, on the family farm near St. Anthony. He was the son of Prokop and Mary (Fairaizl) Patera. At the age of eight, Stanley and his family moved to Bismarck. Stanley started his career with Hedahls/QB&R at the age of 18. He retired at the age of 82 after completing 64 years of service.

On June 1, 1949, Stanley married Bernice Krueger. They made their home at 901 N. Sixth St. in Bismarck.

Stanley is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Mary, Bismarck; one granddaughter and her husband, Heather and Ryan Brock, Salem, Ore.; one grandson and his wife, Seth and Jennifer Patera, Jacksonville, N.C.; two great-grandchildren, Emma Brock and Jeffrey Patera; one stepdaughter and her husband, Elaine and Ted Larsen, and Teddy, Michelle, Tim, Kimberly, Malanie, Kerrie, all of Knoxville, Iowa; and one sister, Rose, Omaha, Neb.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Bernice; three brothers, Tony, Joe and Frank; and three sisters, Anna, Bessie and Mildred.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to Bismarck Veterans Memorial Public Library.

Edwin Dalke
LEHR -- Edwin Dalke, 82, Lehr, died March 14, 1997, in a Sauk Center, Minn. hospital. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Grace Lutheran Church, Lehr, with burial in Lehr Cemetery.

He is survived by one daughter, Arlene Sarles, Sauk Center; and two brothers, Aaron, Bismarck, and Marvin, Grass Valley, Calif. (Dahlstrom Funeral Home, Wishek)

PARSHALL -- Olga Estvold, 102, Parshall, died March 15, 1997, in the Parshall nursing home. Arrangements are pending at Johnson Funeral Home, Parshall.

PARSHALL -- Russell Puse, 73, Parshall, died March 15, 1997, in the Parshall nursing home. Arrangements are pending at Johnson Funeral Home, Parshall.

Jean Sutherland
Jean B. Sutherland, Atlantic Beach, Fla., formerly of Bismarck, died March 13, 1997. Memorial services will be today in the Officer's Club Auditorium at Fleet Landing, Fla., with burial in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Va.

She is survived by four children, Jean Anderegg, Col. James Sutherland III, John Sutherland and Jan Sutherland. (Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, Jacksonville Beach, Fla.)

Anton Stumboll
GARRISON -- Anton Stumboll, 93, Garrison, died March 13, 1997, in the Garrison nursing home. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Garrison, with burial in Coleharbor Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Hazel; and one brother, Leo, Garrison. (Thompson Funeral Home, Garrison)

Katie Engelhart
ZEELAND -- Katie Engelhart, 84, Zeeland, died March 14, 1997, in the Ashley nursing home. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Andrew's Catholic Church, Zeeland, with burial in St. John's Catholic Cemetery, Zeeland.

She is survived by one son, James, Venturia; three daughters, Elaine Geier, Bowdle, S.D., Lenora Salwei, Zeeland, and Donna Rath, Pierre, S.D.; one brother, Joe Meier, Zeeland; and two sisters, Anna Senger, Minneapolis, and Rose Salwei, Hosmer, S.D. (Myers Funeral Home, Linton)

Jacob Gegelmann
Jacob Gegelmann, 78, Bismarck, died March 15, 1997, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Bismarck Baptist Home.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Monday at Bismarck Funeral Home, and will continue at the nursing home one hour before services.

Marie Lemm
LEMMON, S.D. -- Marie Lemm, 94, Lemmon, died March 14, 1997, in the Lemmon nursing home. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Church of God, Lemmon, with the Rev. William Legge officiating. Burial will be in Greenhill Cemetery, Lemmon.

Serving as casketbearers will be her nieces and nephews, Veda Barrett, Grace Olien, Lynn, Larry, Lee and Stan Jackson.

Visitation will be from 1-9 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at Evanson-Jensen Funeral Home, Lemmon, and will continue at the church one hour before services.

Anna Marie Brammer was born Oct. 5, 1902, to Harmon and Grace (Miller) Brammer, at Grand River, Iowa. In 1908, the family moved to South Dakota and homesteaded southeast of Coal Springs, S.D., where Marie grew up and attended Prairie View School. Marie was the oldest child in the family and worked along with her family on their homestead. Marie was appointed postmistress at Coal Springs in 1923 and worked for A.W. Cazer and Son in the Coal Springs store. Marie's sister Freda died in 1935 and left four children for her husband, Jack Young, to raise, so Marie helped raise the family. Marie adopted her sister's son, Vernon Young, when he was 7 years old. In 1951, Marie bought a home in Lemmon and moved there to put Vernon in high school. Marie worked for J.C. Penney's, the Golden Rule Department Store and at the Thunder Hawk post office. She married Joe Lemm, Aug. 7, 1958, and they lived in Lemmon until he died of a heart attack in December 1984. Marie entered the Five Counties Nursing Home, Lemmon, in 1996.

Marie was a member of the Church of God in Lemmon and was active in Women's Ministries.

Grateful for having shared her life are her daughter-in-law, Elma Brammer, Rockford, Ill.; two nieces, Veda Barrett, Mauston, Wis., and Grace Olien, Oakes; four nephews, Lynn Jackson, Lemmon, Larry Jackson, Reeder, Lee Jackson, Bismarck, and Stan Jackson, Sioux Falls.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joe Lemm; her adopted son, Vernon Young Brammer; and two sisters, Freda Young and Velma Jackson.

Albert Roeder
WASHBURN -- Albert F. Roeder, 90, Washburn, died March 14, 1997, in his home after a long illness. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Lutheran Church, Washburn, with the Rev. Bradley Brauer officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Washburn.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday and 8 a.m.-noon Tuesday at Goetz Funeral Home, Washburn, and will continue at the church one hour before services.

Albert Frank Roeder was born Nov. 26, 1906, near Underwood, to Ernest G. And Katherine (Tauer) Roeder. He grew up on his parents' farm near Garrison, where he attended rural school. As a young man he farmed with his father.

He married Elsie M. Jensen, Sept. 14, 1941, at Underwood. They lived at Sandpoint, Idaho, where Albert was employed at the Farragut Naval Base. In 1943 they moved to Underwood, where he worked for the Soo Line Railroad. A year later they moved to rural Washburn and Albert began employment for the Peter Kewit Co. as a heavy equipment mechanic during construction of the Garrison Dam. From 1957 to 1970 he worked as a fireman for the Otter Tail Power Co. at Washburn. For several years thereafter he worked for the Donovan Construction Co. in Indiana and Michigan.

Albert enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and bird watching. His family and friends brought him great joy.

He is survived by his wife, Elsie; three sons and daughters-in-law, Wyman and Linda, Mandan, James and Sharon, Bismarck, and Jeffrey and Karen, Tucson, Ariz.; four daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon and Jerry Hoffer, and Linda and Vincent Leuwer, Bismarck, Catherine and Bruce Hoekstra, Grand Forks, and Marilyn and Perry Schuetz, Mandan; one son-in-law, Paul Folmer and his wife, Lenora, Regan; 15 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; five sisters; one daughter, Janice Folmer; and one son, Neil Roeder.

Erwin Redmann
Erwin Redmann, 75, Mandan, died March 13, 1997, in the Mandan hospital. Services will be at 10 a.m. CST Monday at Buehler-Larson Funeral Home, Mandan, and at 2 p.m. MST Monday at Buehler-Larson Funeral Chapel, New Salem. Burial will be in Peace Cemetery, New Salem.

Frank Jorda
MOTT -- Services for Frank R. Jorda Sr., 79, Mott, will be at 9 a.m. Tuesday at Church of St. Vincent de Paul, Mott, with the Rev. Dennis Schafer officiating. Burial will be in the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, rural Mandan.

Serving as pallbearers will be Robert, Frank, Michael, Jeremy, Joshua and Amy Jorda, Jody Tiller, Mandy and Dale Crooks.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. today at Evanson-Jensen Funeral Home, Mott, where a rosary will be said at 7:30 tonight.

Frank Rudolph Jorda Sr. was born Nov. 19, 1917, to Frank and Magdalena (Miller) Jorda near Lefor. He attended rural school near Lefor. In 1936 he joined the Civilian Conservation Corps. He enlisted in the U.S. Army on Sept. 25, 1941, and was honorably discharged in October 1945. He married Helen Nagle of Dansville, N.Y., on June 17, 1944, at Chapter No. 1 of Fort Sheridan, Ill. They farmed near Lefor until 1952. Frank also worked in sales for Olin Implement in Mott, Elkgrove Village School District and Jewel Food Stores in Chicago before retiring in Mott.

Frank was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Mott, Disabled American Veterans and American Legion Post No. 19 of Big Timber, Mont.

Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Helen; three sons and daughters-in-law, Frank R. Jr. and Janice, Big Timber, Bernard and Kelly, Wichita Falls, Texas, and Thomas and Arlys, Dickinson; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Margaret and Norman Mezey, Los Angeles, Elizabeth and Tom McCullough, Guatamala, Kathleen and her friend, Jim Bickel, Moreno Valley, Calif., and Joan and Dale Crooks, Post Falls, Idaho; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Markus and Catherine Jordan and Joe and Lorraine Jordan, all of Lefor; one sister-in-law, Irene Jorda, Mott; 23 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Peter R. and John K.

Leo Leidholm
UNDERWOOD -- Leo Leidholm, 70, Underwood, died March 14, 1997, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Bonaventure's Catholic Church, Underwood, with burial in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. today at Goetz Funeral Home, Underwood, and will continue after 6 tonight at the church. A rosary will be said at 7 tonight at the church.

Leo was born Jan. 9, 1927, at Underwood to Albin and Maude (Thrailkil) Leidholm. He was raised and educated in Underwood, graduating from Underwood High School in 1943. He married Mary Ann Votava, June 15, 1955, at Trail, Minn. Leo and Mary Ann had five children. Mary Ann died in 1975. Leo married Barb Hopkins on Oct. 4, 1977, at Las Vegas. Leo owned and operated a small grains farm west of Underwood until retiring in 1995. He was a substitute mail carrier for 37 years. He was among the first mail carriers to deliver mail from the air during the severe winters of the 1940s. Leo was a lineman for the local telephone cooperative for many years.

He was an active member of the Republican Party, involved with the North Dakota State Legislature from 1958-1987, serving 20 years as secretary of the Senate. He was proud to have been a part of the North Dakota Constitutional Convention. Leo was a lifelong member of Bismarck Elks, Underwood Golf Course, Good Sam's and assisted in organizing the North Dakota Chapter of the Family Motor Coach Association. He was a member of St. Bonaventure's Catholic Church in Underwood.

He is survived by four sons and daughters-in-law, Dan and Gail, Underwood, Tim and Deb, Hazen, Dale and Tracy, Colorado Springs, Colo., and Mike and Cindy, Chippewa Falls, Wis.; one daughter, Vicki Leidholm, Lewiston, Idaho; one sister, Vi Boardman, Spokane, Wash.; 10 grandchildren; his wife, Barb Leidholm, Minot; and six stepchildren and their families.

Jeremy Stockert
BISON, S.D. -- Jeremy Lee Stockert, the infant son of Darrel and Michelle Stockert, died March 16, 1997, at his home. Services will be at 2 p.m. MST Tuesday at Grace Baptist Church, Bison, with burial in Bison Cemetery.

He is survived by his parents, Darrel and Michelle; his brother, Michael; his grandparents, Loyd and Gloria Veal, Bison, and Leonard and Ann Stockert, Sturgis; and his great-grandmothers, Elizabeth Gawryluk, Belfield, Catharine Brockington, Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Amy Veal, Sacramento, Calif. Olga Estvold

PARSHALL -- Russell Pusc, 73, Parshall, died March 15, 1997, in the Parshall nursing home. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Bridget's Catholic Church, Parshall, with burial in the church cemetery.

He is survived by three sons, Mike, New Town, and Steve and David, both of Bismarck; two daughters, Donna Pusc and Diane Wollschlager, both of Parshall; and one brother, Vincent, Glendive, Mont. (Johnson Funeral Home, Parshall)

Sharon K. Hieb, 54, Mandan, died March 16, 1997, in her home. Arrangements are pending at Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown.

Jeanette Ireland
GARRISON -- Jeanette Ireland, 86, Garrison, died March 16, 1997, in the Garrison hospital. Arrangements are pending at Thompson Funeral Home, Garrison.

Jacob Gegelmann
Jacob Gegelmann, 78, 1100 E. Boulevard Ave., died March 15, 1997, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Baptist Home Chapel, with the Revs. Clyde Leimberer and Scott Kuntz officiating. Burial will be in Mandan Veterans Cemetery, rural Mandan, with military rites.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 tonight at Bismarck Funeral Home and will continue one hour before services at the chapel.

Jacob was born April 15, 1918, at Halliday, to Fred and Caroline (Maier) Gegelmann. He was raised 12 miles northeast of Halliday and attended Goodman School No. 2, rural Halliday, and high school at Inkster. He was drafted into the U.S. Army in October 1942. He was stationed in the South Pacific and New Guinea with the 87th Evacuation Hospital. He worked as a medical tech and portable power plant repairman. He attained the rank of TEC-4. He was discharged from the Army in November 1945. After his discharge, he worked for farmers in the Halliday area.

On Oct. 15, 1950, he married Marjorie J. Hoff, in Venturia. They farmed west of Halliday until his retirement in 1989. In February 1990, he suffered a stroke and entered the nursing home.

Jacob enjoyed farming and gardening. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Halliday. He was a 47-year member of the Fiegal Fischer American Legion Post.

He is survived by his wife, Marjorie; one son, Darrel, Halliday; one daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Mark Schields, Dickinson; three grandchildren, Rachel, Rebekah and Luke; one sister, Elsie Kisse, Bismarck.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Albert, Henry, Gustav and Herman; and two sisters, Ella and Rosina.
