Luldmilla Schaefbauer, 65, Herreid, S.D., died Nov. 3, 1996, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Herreid, with burial in the church cemetery.
She is survived by her husband, Quentin; three sons, Kelly, Hansville, Wash., Jay and Kipp, both of Portland, Ore.; three daughters, Wanda Howard, Portland, Robin Austin, Bremerton, Wash., and Dora Papineau, Poulsbo, Wash.; one brother, Theodore Bauer, Denver; and six sisters, Rosa Kary, Yakima, Wash., Josephine Raszler, Everett, Wash., Veronica Ereth, Ontario, Calif., Maria Ereth, Carnation, Wash., Monica Maas, Hazen, and Ann Doll, Oak Harbor, Wash. Thomas Peterson
Services for Thomas A. Peterson were Oct. 8, 1996, in St. Olaf Catholic Church, Eau Claire, Wis. He died Sept. 28, 1996, in Anchorage, Alaska.
Thomas was born June 28, 1965, to Jim and Charlyn (Suchy) Peterson. He moved to Eau Claire with his family in 1973. He graduated from Memorial High School in 1983, and from District I Vo Tech in Eau Claire in 1985. He moved to Alaska shortly thereafter. He was employed in the fish hatcheries in Ketchikan and was employed as a welder in Anchorage at the time of his death.
He is survived by his parents, Jim and Charlyn Peterson, Eau Claire; three sisters, Paula and Tim Kitzenberger, Eau Claire, Michelle Peterson and Sheryl Peterson, both of Chippewa Falls, Wis.; one brother, James A., Eau Claire; and his grandmothers, Irene Peterson, Minot, and Estella Suchy, Mandan.
Esther Brown
Esther M. Brown, 83, Aurora, Colo., died Nov. 2, 1996, in Aurora. Services were Tuesday at St. Michael the Arch Angel Catholic Church, Aurora. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck.
Esther was born Dec. 21, 1912, at Rhame. On Oct. 13, 1934, she married Adam J. Brown. She was a graduate of Bismarck Hospital School of Nursing and worked as a cook at St. Mary's High School. She assisted with banquets at Knights of Columbus Hall, and enjoyed playing bridge. Adam died in 1983. She moved to Colorado to be close to her daughter in 1984.
She was a member of Catholic Daughters of America.
She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, JoAnn and Charles Lingk, Aurora; one son, David, Lakewood, Colo.; one sister, Ella Ihly, Judith Gap, Mont.; two brothers, Tony Sather, Seattle, and Everett Sather, Racine, Wis.; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.

Edwin Olson
Edwin Olson, 91, Golden Manor Nursing Home, Steele, died Nov. 2, 1996, in the nursing home. Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck, with the Rev. Muriel Lippert-Schauer officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Trygg Township.
Edwin was born Jan. 31, 1905, in Trygg Township, the son of Louis and Hilda (Erickson) Olson. He was raised and educated in Trygg Township. He lived there until he married Sylvia Eckholm on June 2, 1936, in Bismarck. They moved to his Uncle Ole's farm just across the Apple Creek in Trygg Township. He had lived in Trygg Township for 76 years when they moved to Wing in 1981. They both entered Golden Manor Nursing Home in the spring of 1996.
Edwin was an active member of Wing Golden Age Club. He often entertained the club with his saxophone. He had obtained a saxophone through mail order in the early 1920s and taught himself how to play. He played for many dances, house parties and his own enjoyment.
He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Delbert and Arlene, Wing; two granddaughters, Karla and her husband, James Olson, Wing, and Karen Olson, Marshalltown, Iowa; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Eloise Siirtola, Wing, and Mavis and Armond Schopp, Aberdeen, S.D.; and one sister-in-law, Tyne Olson, Bismarck.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years; both parents; three sisters; and three brothers.

Bess Nelson
Bess E. Nelson, 86, Billings, Mont., formerly of Burleigh County, died Nov. 4, 1996. Cremation has taken place and no services are planned.

Mathias Schneider
NAPOLEON -- Mathias J. Schneider, 83, Napoleon, died Nov. 5, 1996, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, Napoleon, with burial in the church cemetery.
He is survived by three sons, James, Kintyre, Thomas, Bismarck, and Steve, Bismarck; four daughters, Mary Lou Johs, Bismarck, Darlene Neugebauer, Menoken, Shirlene Jensen, Hazen, and LoAnn Getz, Bismarck; one sister, Christine Sperle, Ypsilanti, Mich.; and five brothers, Andrew, Napoleon, Leo, Kintyre, Wilfred, Turtle Lake, Felix, East Haven, Conn., and Bennie, Fargo. James Ziegler
MINOT -- James Anthony Ziegler, 50, Minot, died Nov. 3, 1996, in a Minot hospital. Services will be at 9 a.m. Thursday at Zion Lutheran Church, Minot, with burial in North Dakota Veteran's Cemetery, rural Mandan, at 1:30 p.m. Thursday.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m.-6:30 p.m. today at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.
James Anthony Ziegler was born March 10, 1946, to Pauline and Anton Ziegler of Selz. He graduated from Harvey High School in 1964, and attended Valley City State College, where he played football. Jim entered the U.S. Navy in 1965. He played all-Navy football in the Near Division in Yukuska, Japan, before serving three tours of duty in Vietnam. He was in the Brown Water Navy Riverine Special Forces Unit, River Patrol Boat (PBR), section 534, Task Force 116. He was a weapons specialist in the Tet Offensive and operated with the Navy Seals Covert Operation.
Jim worked for the Soo Line Railroad for four years after his discharge in 1968. He married Judith M. Benson, May 6, 1972, at Cando Lutheran Church. Jim and Judy lived in Wahpeton, where Jim worked at Minn-Dak Sugar Co-op as a sugar boiler before moving to Rugby. There they owned and operated Jim's Sports Center. After two years, they moved the NODAK Harley Davidson portion of the business to Minot. Jim and Judy were one of the top 20 dealers in the United States in Harley Davidson parts and accessories sales in 1981.
Jim attended Minot State University and received degrees in criminal justice and addiction counseling. He worked at the state hospital in Jamestown and the Human Service Center in Devils Lake as an addiction counselor. Jim served on the Adult Learning Center Board and the board of directors for Children's Veterans Assistance Fund at Minot State University, and as president of the board of directors of the Gym Dandys Gymnastics.
Jim was an intricate part of veterans activities in the State of North Dakota. He served as a lobbyist for all veteran issues, including the last two initiated measures and the veteran nursing home. He was also involved with MIA-POW issues. He was on the committee that conceived the idea for the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery near Mandan. He was instrumental in getting the Vietnam Vets chapters started in North Dakota and served as the first president in 1981 and again in the early 1990s. He was the chairman of the subcommittee for the veteran's home on the administrative committee of veterans affairs, being appointed by Gov. Allen Olson and Gov. George Sinner.
Jim was a motorcycle enthusiast. He was a charter member of Norseman Motorcycle Club, and later organized the Vietnam Vets Motorcycle Club in North Dakota.
He is survived by his wife, Judy; one daughter, Jessica Ziegler, 19, Minot; two sons, Juston, 17, and James, 13, both of Minot; his mother, Pauline Ziegler, Selz; five sisters, Antoinette Ziegler, Minneapolis, Jacqueline Flowers, Larkspur, Colo., Kathy Ziegler, Portland, Ore., Joy Ann Ziegler, Denver, and Lola Ziegler, Morrison, Colo.; and two brothers, Dennis, Killdeer, and Damian, Minot.

Magdalena Raugust
HARVEY -- Magdalena Raugust, 94, Harvey, formerly of Goodrich, died Nov. 4, 1996, in the Harvey nursing home. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Peace Lutheran Church, Goodrich, with burial in Goodrich Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today and 9 a.m.-noon Thursday at Hertz Funeral Home, McClusky.
Magdalena was born Feb. 24, 1902, on the family farm near Goodrich, the daughter of Lenhard and Magdalena (Dockter) Mertz. She grew up there and attended rural school in Schiller Township. She married Lothar Raugust, Dec. 2, 1925, in McClusky. They lived in the Goodrich area for several years. In 1935 they moved to California. Lothar died May 10, 1939. She moved to Drake in 1946, to Wisconsin in 1958, and returned to Goodrich in 1959. She was a housekeeper for many years. She entered Sheridan Memorial Home in McClusky in December 1992. She entered St. Aloisius Nursing Home in Harvey, in August 1994.
She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church, and a 60-year member of Goodrich American Legion Auxiliary.
She is survived by two sisters, Hildegard Otto, Goodrich, and Martha Roufs, Drake; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers, Ted and Adolph; and one sister, Pauline.
Alta Burzloff
Alta E. Burzloff, 75, 216 Center St., died Nov. 4, 1996, in Bismarck. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Bismarck, with the Rev. Richard Owens officiating. Burial will be in Mandan Union Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at noon today at Boelter Funeral Home and will continue at the church one hour before services.
Alta Lingenfelter was born Nov. 28, 1920, at Taylor, the daughter of Orlando and Anna (Christensen) Lingenfelter. She was raised and educated at Halliday, and attended Dickinson State College. She moved to Bismarck and worked as an accountant for several years. On May 26, 1956, she married Julius Burzloff. They lived in Minnesota and South Dakota before returning to North Dakota in 1962. In each of these states she was employed as an accountant. She retired in 1979.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, American Legion Auxiliary, Amvets Auxiliary and VFW Auxiliary.
She is survived by her husband, Julius; and one sister, Dee Steinke, Sioux City, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Richard.
Leona Reuer
Leona Reuer, 51, 419 Lansing Lane, died March 14, 1997, in a Bismarck hospital. Services will be at 10-30 a.m. Monday at Faith Lutheran Church, Bismarck, with the Rev. James Sorenson officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck.
Visitation will be from 1-8 p.m. today at Perry Funeral Home, Mandan, and will continue at the church one hour before services.
Leona Ell was born Nov. 9, 1945, in Bismarck, the daughter of Simon and Cecelia (Werlinger) Ell. She grew up in Bismarck and attended St. Mary's School. She graduated from Bismarck High School in 1964. She married Timothy Reuer, April 18, 1964, in Bismarck. She worked at A.W. Lucas, Herbergers and Montgomery Ward. Later, she and her husband, Tim, owned and operated Arrow Cleaning Service, Smoke Masters and Herbalife. They managed the Bismarck Municipal Country Club from 1989-1995. They currently operated PrimeTime Ostrich, and just recently Leona operated PrimeTime Health Care.
She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, and had served as vice president of North Dakota Ostrich Association and Ostrich Marketing Association.
She enjoyed crafts, cooking, visiting friends, traveling, family, entertaining large groups, and most of all special times with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Tim; two daughters and sons-in-law, Tammy and Scott Bulman, and Tracy and Karl Carson, all of Bismarck; one son, Tom, Bismarck; six grandchildren, Tyler, Austin and Emily Carson, and Andrew, Jessica and Bailee Bulman; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Regina Bender, and Angie and Elmer Murschel, all of Bismarck; one brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Deloris Ell, Minot; her sister-in-law, Virginia Ell, Bismarck; and a special aunt and uncle, Fred and Leona Reuer, Bismarck.
The family prefers memorials to Anne Carlson School, Jamestown, and the Shrine Hospital.
