Ella L. Rinas was born April 26, 1920, to Henry and Amelia Rinas of Midland, Mich. She was raised and educated in Beaver Township. Ella was employed as a clerk prior to her marriage on July 26, 1941, to R. Hugo Zepik, an aspiring young minister. For 36 years, Ella was a faithful, capable pastor's wife, serving with her husband in eight churches and the North American Baptist Conference throughout Canada and the United States.
Ella's church activities focused on the women's, teens, and children's ministries. Due to her leadership of the Missionary Echos Club, 10 young women later married ministers and-or served as missionairies. Ella came to know the Lord when she was a young teen. She was nurtured in her faith through the ministry of the Beaver Baptist Church in Auburn, Mich., where she was active in leading the junior church and also served as Sunday school secretary.
In 1977, the Zepiks retired from the full-time ministry and made their home in Bismarck, continuing to do interim ministry. Ella was a ``volunteer visitor" at the Baptist Home.
She is survived by her husband, R. Hugo Zepik, Bismarck; one daughter Lois Ricker, San Antonio Texas; one granddaughter, Renee Ricker, Glasgow, Mont.; two brothers, Reinhold and Paul; and numerous nieces and nephews all living in Michigan.
