Margaret A. Hahn

Margaret A. Hahn, 83, died Sunday, November 20, 2005 in the Good Samaritan Center, Arthur, ND.
Margaret Anna Mahrer was born October 26, 1922 at Forman, ND where she grew up and graduated from high school. She attended beauty school in Fargo, ND and then moved to Leonard, ND and worked for the Brown family. She married Harold Hahn November 26, 1945 at Sheldon, ND. They made their home in Leonard, where they owned and operated the M & H Laundromat for several years. Harold died on September 8, 1995. Margaret entered Bethany Homes in Fargo in 1998 and had recently moved to the Good Samaritan Center in Arthur.
Margaret was a member of the Leonard Community Club, Band Mothers, PTA and was a life member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She was also active in the Leonard Catholic Church until it was closed.
She is survived by a son, Larry (Maureen), Minco, OK; daughter Jean (Rodney) Lamberson, Leonard, ND; daughter-in-law Pamela Hahn, Hawley, MN; six grandchildren, Matthew (Addie Mae) Hahn, Nicole (Nol) Chine, Katherine (Tim) Glaser, Joseph and Scott Hahn and Jeffrey Johnston; five great grandchildren, Evelyn Mae and Wyatt Hahn, Logan and Jack Glaser, Jayden Chine; two brothers, Albert (Patricia) Mahrer, Grand Junction, CO, E. L. (Charlotte) Mahrer, Gilbert, AZ; four sisters, Helen Tangen, Eileen (Walter) Munkaby, Bernice (Lawrence) Osman and Lorraine (Bill) Holmstrom, all of Lisbon, ND. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold; twin sons, Dale and Mark; grandson, Daniel Charles Hahn and a sister, Louise Claus.
Funeral services were held Friday, November 25, 2005 at the St. Leo’s Catholic Church, Casselton, ND. Burial was at Leonard (ND) Cemetery
Officiating was Rev. Frank Miller. Organist was Julie Davis. Pallbearers were Matthew Hahn, Tim Glaser, Jeffrey Johnston, Mark Osman, Scott Osman and Ken Holmstrom.
Sadie L. Hartl
Fargo, ND

Sadie Hartl, 91, Fargo, ND, formerly Alice, ND died Friday, November 25, 2005 in her home.
Sadie Lena Langer was born August 4, 1914 near Alice, ND, the daughter of Emil and Lena (Knack) Langer. She was raised and attended school at Alice. She married Julius Hartl June 28, 1932. The couple farmed in the Alice area. Julius died in 1987. In 1988, Sadie moved into Alice, where she lived until moving to Fargo in 1998.
She is survived by a son, Ernest (LuAnn), Fargo; two daughters, Shirley (Milton) Kosel, Sioux Falls, SD, Sharon (Howard) Kurtz, Alice, ND; seven grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and nine great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Julius; parents, Emil and Lena Langer; three brothers, Rudy, Emil and Ernest Langer.
Funeral services were held Monday, November 28, 2005 at the Holy Cross Catholic Church, West Fargo, ND. Burial was at the Alice Community Cemetery, Alice, ND.
Officiants were Rev. Charles LaCroix and Rev. David Syverson. Cantor was Stephanie Marsolek. Accompanist was Kristin Detloff. Pallbearers were Jeff Kurtz, Bob Paeper, Jim Baker, Jon Spadino, Mark Schroeder and Wayne Langer.Honorary Pallbearers were all of Sadie's Great Grand-children.
Ardell Davidson Weisgerber
Bismarck, ND
Ardell Weisgerber died at a Bismarck hospital on Monday, November 21, 2005. She was born on October 9, 1928 at Kathryn, ND, the daughter of Hans and Alma (Hanson) Davidson. She was raised and attended school in Enderlin, where she graduated from high school. Ardell moved to Bismarck and married Frank Weisgerber on February 12, 1949. She worked at the North Dakota State Unemployment Office and at Job Service where she retired in 1980. Ardell and Frank continued to live in Bismarck. Frank died in 2001.
Ardell enjoyed keeping current with politics and discussing and disputing her liberal viewpoints with her sons and family. She also appreciated the beauty of her rose garden and working on crossword puzzles. Ardell loved being involved with her family and her grandchildren. One of the highlights of her life had been trips she made to Hawaii and Norway with her family.
Ardell is survived by her daughter, Mary Weisgerber of Mandan, ND; her sons, Jim (Gail) Weisgerber, Portland, OR and Mark (Julie) Weisgerber, Duluth, MN; her grandchildren, Rebecca Weisgerber, Jennifer Weisgerber, Michael Weisgerber and Kimberly Weisgerber; her brother, Paul Davidson of Massachusetts; and her sister, Eunice Nassif of California.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank, her daughter, Linda, her brothers, Neil and Howard and her sister, Ruth.
Gladys B. Hamre
Fargo, ND
Gladys B. Hamre, 86, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed peacefully on Tuesday, November 15, 2005 in Bethany Homes, Fargo.
Gladys was born December 21, 1918 on a farm near Enderlin, ND, to Ben and Clara Trangsrud. She attended Liberty School and Enderlin High School. Following graduation, she attended New York Beauty College in Fargo. Gladys married Wallace Hamre on September 24, 1941. She worked at the Enderlin Drug Store for several years and in the mid 50’s opened her own beauty shop in their home in Enderlin. After moving to Fargo, she had a beauty shop in their home for over 15 years. Family and friends in and around Enderlin and Fargo were a particularly important part of Gladys’ life.
Gladys is survived by her husband Wallace; son Curtis (Shari), Plymouth, MN; grandson Steve (Courtney), and great-grandson Aiden, Victoria, MN. Gladys was preceded in death by sisters Myrtle Iverson, Evelyn Svedjan, Cora Vee, and Edna Markel and brother Burnell Trangsrud. She is survived by sister Marlys (Wayne) Muilenburg, Enderlin, ND and brother Myron (Lois) Trangsrud, Valley City, ND.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to the Enderlin Cemetery Fund, Enderlin, ND or to the Arthritis Foundation at www.arthritis.org.
Funeral services were held Friday, November 18th, 2005, at Olivet Lutheran Church, Fargo, ND with Rev. Bill Boelter officiating. Burial was at the Enderlin Cemetery, Enderlin, ND.
Music was provided by Soloist Shelley Zietz; Trio by Shelley Zietz, Diane Horsager and Susan Smith. Organist was Marlys Herring. Pallbearers were Jeff Hamre, Don McGregor, Tigo Pedersen, Collin Trangsrud, Harry Iverson and Ron Svedjan. Readers were Mary Goroski and Owen Trangsrud.
Hazel Newton Peterson
Edmonds, Washington
Hazel Peterson, of Edmonds, WA, died on October 25, 2005 at the age of 97, surrounded by her family. She was born in Sheldon, ND, October 29, 1908, to Charles and Mary Newton.
Hazel was preceded in death by her husband, Royal S. Peterson; two sisters; and a brother.
She is survived by a daughter, Jean Eastman, Edmonds, WA; son, Robert (Connie) Peterson, Fargo, ND; brother Wilmer Newton, Minneapolis, MN; and five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Hazel graduated from Valley City Teachers College and taught kindergarten and first grade for several years before moving to Seattle, WA in 1941 with her husband. She was a member of Edmonds United Methodist Church, the Fiorito Children’s Hospital Guild for over 40 years, Daughters of the Nile, and was a Steven’s Hospital volunteer for many years.
She had a great sense of humor, loved to tell jokes and write poetry. Hazel loved her family, playing bridge, and watching the Mariners and Sonics games.
A family graveside service was held at Washelli on Saturday, October 29, the date of her birth.

Louise (Reidel) Shelver
Helena, Montana
Louise (Reidel) Shelver died Monday, November 7, 2005 at the Big Sky Care Center in Helena, Montana. Louise was born April 22, 1913 and grew up at Boyne City, Michigan.
She taught school in Michigan, California, and many years in Minot, ND. She married Robert Shelver, a Navy pilot from 1942 to 1946, on March 5, 1943. On February 4, 1948, their daughter, Marilyn Louise, was born at Hartford, Connecticut. They moved to North Dakota in 1950, and to Montana in 1990 after retirement to be near their daughter, son-in-law, and grandson.
She is survived by her husband, Robert, daughter Marilyn (Joe) Cote, Helena, and grandson Steven, Bozeman.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, and two sisters.
Elizabeth M. Jungels
Enderlin, ND
Funeral services for Elizabeth M. Jungels, 25, Enderlin, ND, were held on Friday, November 11, 2005 at the Maple Sheyenne Lutheran Church, rural Harwood, ND. Reverend Amy Current officiated. Mrs. Jungels died Saturday, November 5, 2005 from injuries suffered in an accident.
Elizabeth Mae Hoglund, daughter of Garfield and Mary Hoglund, was born on April 15, 1980 in Fargo. She was raised on the family farm in rural Fargo and graduated from West Fargo High School, then earned an associate degree in accounting from the State College of Science, Wahpeton.
On April 28, 2001 she married David Jungels in the Maple Sheyenne Lutheran Church, rural Harwood. They made their home on a farm near Enderlin. Mrs. Jungels worked at the First National Bank, Lisbon. She was actively involved in 4-H and high school rodeo. She grew up showing Clydesdales and was an active member of the North Dakota Draft Horse Association.
She is survived by her husband, David; parents, Garfield and Mary Hoglund, rural Fargo; sister, Sari (Derik) Kraft, Harwood; brother, James Hoglund, Nevada, IA; grandparents, Eugene and Ernestine Davidson, Fargo; parents-in-law, Duane and Debra Jungels, Grand Forks; brother-in-law Allan (Kris) Jungels, Altus, OK; sister-in-law, Leann Jungels, Grand Forks. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Jim and Lorraine Hoglund and Elmer and Marge Forester.
Pallbearers were James Green, Adam Bryant, C.W. Kuch, Derek Jungels, Patty Krebs and Sara Frydich.
Honorary pallbearers were North Dakota Draft Horse Association members.
Interment at Maple Sheyenne Cemetery, rural Harwood, ND.
Robert E. Lemna
Enderlin, ND
Funeral services for Robert E. Lemna, 61, of Enderlin, ND, were held on Saturday, November 5 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Enderlin with Father John Fallon officiating. Burial was at Oakwood Cemetery in Lisbon and pallbearers were larry Schultz, Dennis Archbold, Erling Janz, Ron Mueller, Dan Lund, Bill Lemna and Jeff Kuhn. Special music was provided by Tom and Mary Beth Broman and organist was Sylvia Schlagel. Mr. Lemna died on November 1, 2005 at SCCI Hospital in Fargo.
Robert was born on August 11, 1944 in Fargo, ND, the son of Lawrence and Margaret L. Lunzbach Lemna. He attended school in Enderlin. He served in the U.S. Army from 1965 to 1967. He married Kathryn Olson on November 28, 1970 at Alice, ND. They farmed near Enderlin.
Robert is survived by his wife, Enderlin; three daughters, Heidi (Kent) Hodgens, Moorhead, MN, Deborah (Brady) Opheim, Fargo, ND, and Amy Lemna and her fiance, Scott Johnson, Fargo, ND; five grandchildren; two brothers, Leo (Mary), and Dennis (Becky), both of Enderlin; seven sisters, Helen (Harold) Tellinghausen, Rapid City, SD, Doris Schultz, Lisbon, ND, Peggy (Don) Chesley, Enderlin, Joyce (Irv) Weigshied, Dent, MN, Donna (Bob) Ikleman, Dixon, CA, Darlene Fredrich, Bismarck, and Carol (Eddie) Buschette, Mahnomen, MN. He was preceded in death by brothers Dick and Kenneth and sister Betty, sisters-in-law, Phyllis and Helen and brother-in-law, Don Kuhn.
Lorraine Lund
Fargo, ND
Lorraine Lund was born in Enderlin, ND, on August 29, 1928, to Arthur and Minnie (Goss) Christianson. She attended school in Enderlin and graduated in the Enderlin High School class of 1946. As she grew up in Enderlin, Lorraine considered her father fortunate to be employed by the railroad, which enabled her to learn to play piano.
On June 22, 1947, Lorraine was married to John O. Lund in Enderlin. They lived in Valley City, ND, and moved to Moorhead, MN, in 1956. She played piano and taught piano lessons for over 40 years, which extended into last year and had provided her years of joy. As her family grew up she had also been a Campfire Girl leader.
In recent years, she loved spending time with family and friends at their lake cabin on Lake Lida. One of her favorite pastimes was playing cards and games. Most importantly, she was a devoted mother and grandmother. As a fifty year member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Moorhead, she served in the Altar Guild, cared for communion records for years, and taught Sunday School. As a volunteer, she served United Blood Services for many years.
Mr. Lund died in 1990 and from that time, she has been an active part of the Tuesday morning coffee group. This special group of ladies provided Lorraine much support even into her 5 month encounter with cancer. For the last month, Lorraine had been receiving care at Manor Care in Fargo, ND. She died there on Monday afternoon, October 24th at the age of 77 years.
Her family includes two daughters and one son, John (JeLain) Lund of Orlando, FL; Judy Lund of Fargo; and Jerie (Keith) Little of Fargo. Also surviving are 5 grandchildren, Joshua Lund of Austin, TX; Andrew Lund of Austin, TX; Courtney (Quinby) Chunn of West Hollywood, CA; Kenny Wold of Fargo; and Stephanie Little of Fargo.
She was preceded in death by her husband John and a brother, Art (Bud) Christianson.
The funeral service was held at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Moorhead, MN on Saturday, October 29, 2005. Interment was at Moorhead Memorial Gardens.
Eileen Utke
Glenfield, ND
Eileen Utke, age 90, of Glenfield, ND, died Tuesday, October 18, 2005, at Golden Acres Manor in Carrington, ND.
Eileen Genevieve Johnson was born December 6, 1914, at Glenfield, ND, the daughter of August and Christine (Pierson) Johnson. She was raised and attended school at Glenfield. Eileen attended Valley City (ND)Teacher’s College. She taught school in the rural Glenfield area. On December 27, 1938, Eileen was united in marriage to Lawrence Utke at Glenfield. They lived in the Enderlin, ND area for a time, and returned to the Glenfield area in 1941 to farm. They also operated the Cyrana Lodge in Bemidji, MN, from 1968-1973. Lawrence Utke died June 29, 1973. Eileen lived in Fargo, ND for several years. She entered the Holy Family Nursing Home in Carrington in November 2002. Eileen has been living at Golden Acres Manor in Carrington since August 2005. Eileen had a quiet, steady faith. She enjoyed her family. She also enjoyed outdoor gardening, baseball, and her home. Eileen was a member of Glenfield Lutheran Church, Royal Neighbors, Swedish Culture Heritage Society, and the Homemakers Club.
She is survived by one son, David (Becky) Utke of Glenfield; one daughter, Judy (Tom) Stevens of Brainerd, MN; four grandchildren;
seven great grandsons; and one sister, Joyce Topp of Carrington.
Eileen was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, one brother, and two sisters.
Funeral services were held October 22 at Glenfield Lutheran Church, Glenfield, ND with interment at Glenfield Cemetery.
