MOUNTAIN, N.D. -- Beatrice Hagert, 87, Jamestown, N.D., formerly of Mountain, died
Monday, Nov. 2, 1998, at Central Dakota Village, Jamestown.
Beatrice Soli was born
Aug. 10, 1911, the daughter of Andrew and Helga (Dahl) Soli, in Mountain. She grew up and attended school in Pembina County, N.D., graduating from Walhalla (N.D.) High School. She attended Mayville (N.D.) State Teachers College and business college in Bismarck. She taught in rural North Dakota and also worked as a medical secretary in North Dakota and California. She married
Edward Hagert on Aug. 31, 1963, in Wimbledon, N.D. They lived in Wimbledon until retiring, then moved to Jamestown.
She is survived by nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death
by her husband; a brother; a half sister; and three half brothers.
Services: 10: 30 a.m. Friday, St. Paul's United Methodist Church.
Visitation: 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today, Eddy Funeral Home, Jamestown.
Burial: Highland Home Cemetery.
Domicella 'Domi' Kosmatka
WARSAW, N.D. -- Domicella "Domi" Kosmatka, 78, Warsaw, died
Tuesday, Nov. 3, 1998, in Unity Medical Center, Grafton.
Domicella Shoults was born
May 7, 1920, the daughter of Joseph and Frances (Mielcarek) Shoults, in Warsaw, where she attended school. She married
Richard Kosmatka on Nov. 25, 1941, in Warsaw. They lived and farmed near Warsaw. Richard Kosmatka died
Sept. 10, 1982. She moved to Lutheran Sunset Home, Grafton, in 1974.
She is survived by a son, Dennis, Minto; a daughter, Rita, Kent, Wash.; sisters, Regina (Harry) Kowalski, Chicago, and Celia (Daniel) Goa, San Lorenzo, Calif.; and brothers, Ernie, Mesa, Ariz., and Fabian, Park River, N.D.
She was preceded in death
by three sisters; and two brothers.
Services: 11: 30 a.m. Saturday, St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Warsaw.
Visitation: 1 to 5 p.m. Friday, Henriksen-Kamrowski Funeral Home, Grafton, and one hour before services in the church.

Norman 'Buddy' Martineau Sr.
WALHALLA, N.D. -- Norman "Buddy" Martineau Sr., 56, Corona, Calif., formerly of Walhalla, died
Oct. 22, 1998, in Corona Medical Center.
Norman Darryl Martineau Sr. was born
Aug. 16, 1942, the son of Oliver and Ruth (Johnson) Martineau, in Leroy, N.D. He grew up in Leroy and attended school in Walhalla. He served four years in the U.S. Army. He married
Joyce Arends in 1964. They moved to California in 1965. He worked for Douglas Aircraft, Ford Motor Co. and Dynamic Electric Motors. He married
Lucy Six in 1980. They lived in Carson, Calif., until moving to Corona, in 1995.
He is survived by sons, Norman, Fargo, Brian, Twin Valley, Minn., and Duane and Ryan, both of Corona; a daughter, Brandie, Morton, Minn.; four grandchildren; and brothers, John "Dick," Leroy and Robert, Murritia, Calif.
Services: 9: 30 a.m. Friday, St. Joseph's Cemetery, Leroy.
Burial: St. Joseph's Cemetery

Gerald 'Jerry' Theroux
GRAFTON, N.D. -- Gerald "Jerry" Theroux, 65, Grafton, died
Wednesday, Nov. 4, 1998, at North Dakota State Hospital, Jamestown.
Gerald Theroux was born
Dec. 16, 1932, the son of Louis and Agnes Theroux, in Red Lake Falls, Minn., where he attended school. He joined the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a semi-truck diver for many years. Most recently he worked for Alan Collette, Dennis Lessard, Duane Ebertowski and Wally's Inc., as a truck driver. He married
Eva Knott on Feb. 18, 1956. He married
Kay Sass on June 12, 1982.
He is survived by his wife; daughters, Sandi (John) Thorson and Christine (Lee) Delisle, both of East Grand Forks; a son, Kevin (Christine), Parker, Colo.; five grandchildren; stepchildren, Kimberly Ann Sass and Stan Sass, both of Grafton, and Rudy (Kim) Sass, Minto, N.D.; four stepgrandchildren; a brother, Vern (Diane), San Diego; and a sister, Marie (Gordon) Knott, Red Lake Falls.
He was preceded in death
by his parents and a stepgranddaughter.
Services: 10 a.m. Friday, St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Grafton.

Gunda Bohn
DRESDEN, N.D. -- Gunda Bohn, 89, Maple Plain, Minn., formerly of Dresden, died
Tuesday, Nov. 3, 1998.
Gunda Sperling was born
Sept. 29, 1909, the daughter of Emil and Mathilda (Vogt) Sperling, in Dresden, where she attended school. She married
William Bohn on Jan. 30, 1931, in Fargo. They farmed in Moscow Township, Cavalier County, N.D. They moved to Minneapolis in 1957, and in 1991, they moved to Waconia, Minn. William Bohn died
Oct. 10, 1992. She had been a resident of Haven Homes, Maple Plain, since September 1994.
She is survived by children, Janice (Ben) Nuelle, Langdon, Elaine (Chuck) Machacek, Mesa, Ariz., and Curtis (Sharon), Waconia; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death
by brothers, Barney, Theodore, Albert, Fred, Frank, Richard, Emil and Earhart; and sisters, Pauline (Rudolph) Lick, Albertina (Gust) Friske and Erna (William) Domres.
Services: 2 p.m. Saturday, United Lutheran Church, Langdon.

Leone Carlson
THIEF RIVER FALLS -- Leone Carlson, 87, Thief River Falls, died
Wednesday, Nov. 4, 1998, in Northwest Medical Center, Convalescent Nursing Care Unit, Thief River Falls.
Leone Florence Cartier was born
Sept. 16, 1911, the daughter of Cash and Obeline (Goulet) Cartier, in Hibbing, Minn. She graduated high school from Red Lake Falls, Minn. She received her teacher's training certificate and taught rural school in the Red Lake Falls area. She married
Hugh Carlson on Nov. 18, 1935. They moved to Thief River Falls, where they owned and operated Carlson Travel Service. Hugh Carlson died
in 1970.
She is survived by daughters, Jaclyn (Robert) Cornett, Portland, Ore., Rae (Pete) Michael, Paonia, Colo., Erin Carlson, Lake Ridge, Va., and Phyllis (Stephen) Rhineberger, Thief River Falls; six grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; a brother, Ken (Hazel), East Grand Forks; and a sister, Connie Emard, in California.
She was preceded in death
by brothers, Leo and Leonard; and a sister, Mary Ann Cartier.
Services: 11 a.m. Friday, St. Bernard's Catholic Church, Thief River Falls.

Dennis W. Melander
HOPE, N.D. -- Dennis W. Melander, 70, Hunter, N.D., formerly of Hope, died
Tuesday, Nov. 3, 1998, in Mesa, Ariz.
Dennis Wesley Melander was born
Aug. 28, 1928, the son of Agnes and Aron Melander, in Steele County, Blabon, N.D. He grew up in Hunter, where he graduated from high school in 1946. He married
Mary Ellen Genenbacher on Oct. 20, 1948, in Quincy, Ill. They farmed in the Hope and Gardner, N.D., areas and moved to Hunter in 1961.
He is survived by his wife; children, Margaret (John) Olson, Argusville, N.D., Dennis (Pam) and Cynthia (Kevin) Frost, both of Hunter, and Tim (Jodi), Rugby, N.D.; 12 grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; and brothers, Norris (Marlene), Apple Valley, Minn., and Morris (Kathleen) and Allan (Georgene), both of Hunter.
He was preceded in death
by a sister, Rosemary; and brothers, James and LeRoy.
Services: 2 p.m. Monday, St. Agnes Catholic Church, Hunter.

Helen Sundet
CROOKSTON -- Helen Sundet, 75, Crookston, died
of leukemia Sunday, Nov. 22, 1998, at Altru Hospital, Grand Forks.
Helen Mae Schmidt was born
Feb. 22, 1923, the daughter of Ross and Elizabeth (Hartman) Schmidt, in Crookston, where she graduated from high school in 1940. She worked as a stenographer at Interstate Power Co., Crookston, before joining the U.S. navy as a WAVE in August 1943. She was discharged in February 1946. She attended University of Minnesota from September 1946 to March 1947. She moved back to Crookston and worked as a secretary at Crookston Mill Co., until 1949. She married
Russell Stanford Sundet on June 21, 1949, in Crookston. From 1958 until retiring in 1980, they owned and operated Sundet's Toy and Hobby Shop. They spent summers at Lake Sarah, Erskine, Minn., and winters in Crookston.
She is survived by her husband; a son, Richard (Kathrin, Anchorage, Alaska; a daughter, Judy (Gene) Keasler, Crookston; three grandchildren; a brother, Ross, Chisago City, Minn.; sisters, Geraldine Morberg and Jeanne (Donald) Bartsch, both of Great Falls, Mont.; and a sister-in-law, Maxine Sundet, Crookston.
Services: 11 a.m. today, St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Crookston.

Harriet Beiswenger
CROOKSTON -- Harriet Beiswenger, 83, Crookston, formerly of Fisher, Minn., died
Sunday, Nov. 22, 1998, at Riverview Hospital, Crookston.
Harriet Christianson was born
Jan. 13, 1915, the daughter of Alfred and Marie (Kristensen) Christianson, in Crookston, where she graduated from high school. She received teacher training from Crookston Normal School and taught near Fisher and Crookston. She married
Walter Beiswenger on June 4, 1938, in Crookston. They farmed near Fisher until retiring in 1972. In August 1973, they moved to Crookston. She spent 10 winters in Arizona. Walter Beiswenger died
June 22, 1996.
She is survived by daughters, Arleen Boyd, Inver Grove Heights, Minn., and Elaine (Louis) Witt, Wyoming, Mich.; sons, Roger (Carol), Fisher, Allan (Susan), Soldotna, Alaska, and James, Oslo, Minn.; 14 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brothers, Wallace (Beth), Corvallis, Ore., and Lyle (Dorothy), Golden Valley, Minn.; a sister-in-law, Audrey Christianson, Crookston; and stepsisters-in-law, Marguerite Johnson and Eleanor Johnson.
She was preceded in death
by an infant son; brother, Randolph; and stepbrothers, Elroy Johnson and Ted Johnson.

Dennis R. Jensen
CROOKSTON -- Dennis R. Jensen, 54, Crookston, died
Sunday, Nov. 22, 1998, in Riverview Hospital, Crookston.
Dennis Ray Jensen was born
July 5, 1944, the son of Max and Ina (Crown) Jensen, in Thief River Falls. He lived in Highlanding, Minn. He made his home in Cambridge, Brainerd and Fergus Falls, Minn., state hospitals before returning to Thief River Falls, where he lived at Hanson's Boarding Home. He had lived the last three years in Eagle's Haven Group Home, Crookston.
He is survived by his mother; brothers, Glen (Dolores) and Donald (Terry), both of Goodridge, Minn., Jerry (Nancy) and Kendall (Renae), both of Thief River Falls, and Kermit (Verlene), Warroad, Minn.; and sisters, Janice (Herb) Vettleson, Thief River Falls, Karen (Andy) Peterson, Trail, Minn., and Joani (David) Frederick, Goodridge.
He was preceded in death
by his father; and a sister, Lois.
Services: 11 a.m. Friday, Ekelund Lutheran Church, Goodridge.

Shirley Welty
Shirley Welty, 71, East Grand Forks, formerly of Hallock, Minn., died
Wednesday, Nov. 18, 1998, in Altru Hospital, Northwood, N.D.
Shirley Coney was born
May 21, 1927, the daughter of Joe and Faith (Johnston) Couey, in Detroit. She moved with her family to Cudahy, Wis., where she attended school. She married
Deo Clyde "Buck" Waldron in 1948. They lived in Hallock. She worked as a food and beverage manager for several Minnesota resorts and country clubs. She moved to East Grand Forks in 1988.
She is survived by sons, Dennis (JoAnn), Heron Lake, Minn., and Daniel (Karen), Thompson, N.D.; two grandchildren; a brother, Robert, Grand Marsh, Wis.; and sisters, Patsi Hosni, Waterford, Wis., Dora Stanness, Milwaukee, Sharon Alden, Iron Mountain, Mi., and Jane Lobotzke, Wild Rose, Wis.
