Evelyn Teem
WARSAW, N.D. -- Evelyn Teem, 71, Parish, Mich., formerly of Warsaw, died Wednesday, Jan. 27, 1999, in Mecosta County General Hospital, Reed City, Mich.
Evelyn Pokrzywinski was born Feb. 16, 1927, the daughter of Max and Edith (Kasprick) Pokrzywinski, in Warsaw. She attended school in Pulaski Township, Walsh County, N.D. She moved to Detroit, where she worked. She married Harry Teem on July 1, 1946, in Detroit. They moved to Drayton, N.D., in April 1991. In June 1997, they moved to Parish.
She is survived by her husband; son, Dennis (Roberta), Shelby Township, Mich., and Roger (Suzanne), Lincoln Park, Mich.; three grandchildren; a sister, Alice (Ernest) Teem, Parish; and brothers, Carl (Judy), Las Vegas, and Daniel (Virginia), Drayton.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Irene Rose.
Services: Were held in Michigan.
Burial: St. Anne Cemetery.
Ann M. Johnson
CROOKSTON -- Ann M. Johnson, 85, Crookston, formerly of Mentor, Minn., died Tuesday, Feb. 9, 1999, in Riverview Nursing Home, Crookston.
Ann M. Brault was born July 3, 1913, the daughter of Albert and Mary (Lizotte) Brault, in Crookston, where she attended school. She married Vernon Johnson on May 16, 1942, in Tacoma, Wash. They lived in Washington before moving to Minneapolis. In 1946, they moved to Crookston. Vernon Johnson died Oct. 28, 1991.
She is survived by a brother, Lawrence (Wilma), Caro, Mich.; sisters-in-law, Ardela Brault, International Falls, Minn., and Vera Brault, Owosso, Mich.; and a brother-in-law, Bill Shawver, Gig Harbor, Wash.
She was preceded in death by sisters, Lucille Brault and Aggie Shawver; and brothers, Leo, Louis, Maurice, Leonard and Francis.
Services: 10: 30 a.m. today, Stenshoel-Houske Funeral Chapel, Crookston.
Visitation: One hour before services in the chapel.
Burial: Oakdale Cemetery, Crookston.
George M. Campbell
CROOKSTON -- George M. Campbell, 90, Crookston, died Wednesday, Feb. 10, 1999, in Villa St. Vincent Nursing Home, Crookston.
George Marsh Campbell was born Dec. 17, 1908, the son of James and Viola (Marsh) Campbell, in Lehigh, Iowa. He moved with his parents to Fort Dodge, Iowa, where he graduated from high school in 1928. He attended Fort Dodge Junior College and transferred to Cornell College, Mount Vernon, Iowa, where he received his bachelor's degree in economics in 1932. He moved to Crookston, where he worked for a local automobile dealership, and then as an appraiser for the State of Minnesota's Department of Rural Credit. He married Jeannette Gorder in 1938 in Crookston. She died in 1941. He married Rosemary Prudhomme on Dec. 17, 1942, in Crookston. In the early 1940s he became a partner in the Campbell-Florence Potato Co. in Crookston. Later he established the Minnesota Bean and Pea Co. in Crookston, which he owned and operated until retiring in 1975. He also farmed in the Eldred, Minn., area, until retiring in 1990.
He is survived by his wife; daughters, Chrys (Dan) Bryant, Edina, Minn., Barbara (Mike) Tenney, Minnetonka, Minn., Terry (Rich) Tourand, Burnsville, Minn., Joan (David) Anderson, Eden Prairie, Minn., and Lynn Campbell, Indianapolis; sons, James (Mary), Minnetonka, Robert (Tamie), Eden Prairie, and Bruce (Trudi), Bemidji; and 17 grandchildren.
Services: 10: 30 a.m. Monday, Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, Crookston.
Visitation: 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, with a 7 p.m. prayer service, Stenshoel-Houske Funeral Home, Crookston, and one hour before services in the church.
Burial: Calvary Cemetery, Crookston.
Adolph Srnsky Jr.
Adolph Srnsky Jr., 73, 606 11th St. N.W., East Grand Forks, died of cancer Wednesday, Feb. 10, 1999, in Valley Elder Care Center, Grand Forks.
Adolph Srnsky Jr. was born June 13, 1925, the son of Adolph and Libby (Forst) Srnsky, in Thief River Falls, where he attended school. He worked for the Soo Line Railroad. He moved to Grand Forks in 1948. He married Ann Marie Olson on Jan. 25, 1953, in East Grand Forks. He worked for the Lumber Dealers Supply Co. until retiring in 1987.
He is survived by his wife; sons, Roger (Connie), Grand Forks, and Jeff (Suzanne), Chaska, Minn.; three grandchildren; sisters, Alice (Carl) Nelson, Seattle, Dorothy (Lester) Nordhagen, Thief River Falls, and Lucille (Harold) McWilliams, Grand Forks; and brothers, Arthur, John and Robert, all of Grand Forks.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Leonard; and a sister, Mayme "Dolly" Gust.
Services: 2 p.m. Saturday, Our Savior's Lutheran Church, East Grand Forks.
Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. today, with a 7 p.m. prayer service, Stennes Funeral Home, East Grand Forks.
Burial: Memorial Park Cemetery, Grand Forks.
Eileen A. Sand
Eileen A. Sand, 53, Grand Forks, died Tuesday, Feb. 9, 1999, in Hillsboro (N.D.) Medical Center.
Eileen Alma Young was born Aug. 27, 1945, the daughter of Maurice and Helen (Brix) Young, in Westhope, N.D. She graduated from high school in Antler, N.D., in 1963. She attended Minot State College. She married Kirk Sand on Aug. 8, 1965, in Antler. They lived in Bottineau and Rolla, N.D., until moving to Grand Forks in July 1978.
She is survived by a daughter, Traci (Shawn) Gorthy, Minot; a son, Wade, Grand Forks; her mother; Grand Forks; and a brother, Danny (Tina), Grand Forks.
She was preceded in death by her father; and an infant brother.
Services: 2 p.m. Saturday, Sharon Lutheran Church, Grand Forks.
Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. today, Amundson Funeral Home, Grand Forks, and one hour before services in the church.
Burial: Antler in the spring.
Dr. John E. Hildebrand
BEMIDJI -- Dr. John E. Hildebrand, 78, Douglas, Ariz., formerly of Bemidji, died Monday, Feb. 8, 1999, in Douglas.
John E. Hildebrand was born May 5, 1920, the son of John and Gertrude Hildebrand, in Akron, Ohio. He graduated in 1941 from Wayne State (Mich.) Liberal Arts with a bachelor of science degree, and received his doctor of medicine degree from Wayne State Medical School in 1944. He did an internship at Grace Hospital, Detroit, and a residency at Milwaukee Children's Hospital. From 1946 to 1948, he served in the Medical Corps as an Army physician. He worked in pediatrics in Detroit from 1945 to 1950, and in Bemidji from 1951 to 1973. He moved to Douglas in 1974, and served as administrator and general practitioner at Phelps-Dodge Clinic and as chief surgeon from 1974 to 1983. He was in private practice until his retirement in 1987.
He is survived by his wife, Norma; a daughter, Dorothy Lynn (Locke) Perkins; a son, John Jr. (Barbara); stepsons, Michael Mohler, Timothy Mohler and Roger Mohler; stepdaughters, Karen (Saad) Yateem and Mona Phillips; seven grandchildren; and a sister, Kay Johnson, in North Carolina.
He was preceded in death by his first wife in 1973.
Services: 10: 30 a.m. Monday, Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home, Bemidji.
Visitation: 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, and one hour before services in the funeral home.
Burial: Aardahl Lutheran Cemetery, Frohn Township, Beltrami County, in the spring. Memorials are suggested to Beltrami Historical Society for the restoration of the Great Northern Depot, Box 683, Bemidji, 56619.
David B. Horgeshimer
CROOKSTON -- David B. Horgeshimer, 59, Crookston, died Wednesday, Feb. 10, 1999, in Veterans Administration Medical Center, Fargo.
David B. Horgeshimer was born Dec. 15, 1939, the son of Theodore and Elizabeth (Heemer) Horgeshimer, in Minot, where he attended school. He served in the U.S. Army from 1966 to 1969, and was awarded the Soldier's Medal of Honor. He moved to Mentor, Minn., and worked for Detroiter Mobile Homes in Red Lake Falls, Minn., and later for Crookston Cattle Co. He married Theresa Lanctot on July 15, 1978, in Crookston. They lived in Crookston until moving to Kertsonville Township, Polk County, Minn., in the spring of 1979. He worked for Hagen Farms and later drove semi for Crookston Alfalfa Plant, the E.W. Wylie Co., and Transystem Inc. In 1989 they moved to Roosevelt, Minn., where he worked for Marvin Windows in Warroad, Minn. He retired in 1992 and returned to Crookston.
He is survived by his wife; sons, Benjamin, Matthew, Michael, and Brian; sisters, Anna (Frank) Hernandez, Lomita, Calif., and Mary (Charles), Rickettes, Fosston, Minn.; and brothers, Leroy Buck (Glenda), Minot, James Buster, Pasco, Wash., and Thomas (Theresa), Mentor.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Thomas Bruce, Edgar Barry and Buddy Francis; and sisters, Babe Ytuarte and Elizabeth Jean Horgeshimer.
Services: 2 p.m. Tuesday, Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, Crookston.

Dianna L. 'Dixie' Shabert
DEVILS LAKE -- Dianna L. "Dixie" Shabert, 53, Portola, Calif., formerly of Devils Lake, died Tuesday, Feb. 9, 1999, in Eastern Plumas District Hospital, Portola.
Dianna Lee Darrington was born Dec. 21, 1945, the daughter of Edward and Ida Mae (Sagan) Darrington, in Devils Lake. She graduated from high school in Grand Forks. She lived in Grafton, N.D., until moving to Portola in 1977. She owned Country Floral in Portola from 1982 to 1996. She had been a teachers aid with autistic children at Marvin Picollo School, Reno, Nev., for the past three years.
She is survived by her husband, Nick; sons, Todd and Mark, both of Summerset, Ky.; a daughter, Nicole Caldwell, Reno; three grandchildren; her parents, Venice, Fla.; and sisters, Debbie Quinell, Richland, Wash., and Nancy Lizakowski, Cincinnati.

Howard J. Ault
CAVALIER, N.D. -- Howard J. Ault, 81, Cavalier, died Wednesday, Feb. 10, 1999, in Wedgewood Manor, Cavalier.
Howard John Ault was born Sept. 29, 1917, the son of Conrad and Mena (Stein) Ault, in Lodema Township, Pembina County, N.D., where he attended school. He farmed in the Hensel, N.D., area until his retirement. He spent winters in New Orleans, and had lived the past four years in Cavalier.
He is survived by a sister-in-law, Arta Ault, Metairie, La.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Quentin.
Services: 2 p.m. Saturday, Trinity United Methodist Church, Cavalier.
Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. today, Jensen-Askew Funeral Home, Cavalier, and one hour before services in the church.

Julia Stoeser
DEVILS LAKE -- Julia Stoeser, 99, Devils Lake, died Wednesday, Feb. 10, 1999, in Good Samaritan Center, Devils Lake, where she had lived since May 1995.
Julia Doyle was born Jan. 10, 1900, the daughter of Ed and Mary (Farrell) Doyle, in Devils Lake. She attended school in Penn, N.D. She received her teaching certificate from Valley City (N.D.) Teachers College and taught for two years. She married Harvey Stoeser on Aug. 14, 1926, in Devils Lake. They lived in Penn. She later moved to Devils Lake.
She is survived by a daughter, Meridith (Charles) Olson, Devils Lake; a son, Don (Sharon), Goshen, Ind.; nine grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Katherine Markel, Devils Lake.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Locklyn; and a sister, Mary Gessner.
Services: 10 a.m. Saturday, St. Joseph's Parish Center Chapel, Devils Lake.
Visitation: 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today, with a 7 p.m. prayer service, and 8: 30 to 9: 30 a.m. Saturday, Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake.

Pius 'Pete' L. Bosch
DEVILS LAKE -- Pius "Pete" L. Bosch, 97, Devils Lake, died Monday, Nov. 2, 1998, in Heartland Care Center, Devils Lake.
Pius Lawrence Bosch was born Nov. 19, 1900, the son of Lawrence and Odelia (Risling) Bosch, in Kandell, Ukraine, Russia. They moved to the United States in 1901 and settled in Orrin and Karlsruhe, N.D. In 1907, they moved to Devils Lake. He married Katherine Ochs on Oct. 21, 1929, in Devils Lake. She died Sept. 24, 1967. He farmed near Devils Lake until 1938. He worked for the North Dakota State Highway Department for over 25 tears.
He is survived by sons, Lawrence (Sylvia), Cupertino, Calif., Michael (Elba), Reno, Nev., and Earl, Seattle.; 12 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by sisters, Martha "Maude" Bosch and Regina Bosch; and brothers, Michael, Anthony and Joseph.
Services: 10 a.m. Friday, St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Devils Lake.
Visitation: 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today, with a 7 p.m. prayer service, and 8: 30 to 9: 30 a.m. Friday, in Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake.
Burial: St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery.
