Monday, Oct. 12, 1998, at home.
Norma Majksner was born
Aug. 11, 1921, the daughter of Joseph and Eleanor (Horysh) Majksner, in Lawton, N.D. She graduated from high school in Pelto, N.D., and worked in Devils Lake restaurants and for the Devils Lake school system. She returned to the family farm.
She is survived by brothers, Herman and Norman, Brocket, N.D.
Services: 10: 30 a.m. Friday, St. Catherines Catholic Church-LOMICE, Lawton.
Visitation: 1 to 9 p.m. Thursday, with a 7 p.m. prayer service, Aaker Funeral Home, Lakota, and one hour before services in the church.
Burial: St. Catherines Cemetery.
Lillian G. Anderson
PARK RIVER, N.D. -- Lilllian G. Anderson, 68, Mora, Minn., formerly of Park River and Edinburg, N.D., died
Monday, Oct. 12, 1998, in Minneapolis.
Lillian G. Momerak was born
March 2, 1930, the daughter of Gundar and Myrtle (Dahl) Momerak, in Park River, where she attended school. She married
Percival Anderson on Jan. 22, 1949, in Park River. They lived in Edinburg and Hopkins, Minn. before moving to Brooklyn Center, Minn., in 1957. They lived there until retiring in 1993 and moving to Mora. Percival Anderson died
Sept. 6, 1997.
She is survived by sons, Daune (Patty), Champlin, Minn., Mike (Sue), Brooklyn Center, and Steve (Cindy), Brooklyn Park, Minn.; a daughter, Jennifer (Frank) Caligiuri, Ogilvie, Minn.; Nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; her mother, Park River; and a sister, Dorothy (Ken) Pamsey, Park River.
She was preceded in death
by her father and a brother, Allen.
Services: 10 a.m. Saturday, Tollefson Funeral Home, Edinburg.
Burial: Gardar (N.D.) Lutheran Cemetery.
Mary K. Adams
Mary K. Adams, 68, formerly of St. Anne's Guest Home, died
Sunday, Oct. 11, 1998, in Aneta (N.D.) Parkview Health Center.
Mary Kathleen Adams was born
June 20, 1930, the daughter of George and Mary (Smith) Adams, in Grand Forks, where she attended school. She attended St. James Academy, where she graduated in 1948. She attended UND for three years and graduated from the University of California at Berkeley. She worked for The San Francisco Memorial Hospital, St. Gabriel Hospital, Little Falls, Minn., and at UND Medical School. She joined the Women's Army Corps during the Korean War and worked as a medical tech in San Diego. She moved to Aneta after the Flood of 1997.
She is survived by a sister, Theresa Braun, Glenwood, Minn.
She was preceded in death
by her parents; and brothers, Robert and John.
Services: 11 a.m. Friday, Norman Funeral Home, Columbia Road.
Visitation: 9: 30 a.m. until time of services Friday.
Burial: Calvary Cemetery, Grand Forks. Memorials are suggested to St. Anne's Guest Home.
Melvin A. Thompson
Melvin A. Thompson, 70, 3311 Chestnut St., Grand Forks, died
Wednesday, Dec. 30, 1998, at home.
Melvin Thompson was born
July 4, 1928, the son of Gerhard and Hulda (Larson) Thompson, in Grafton, N.D. He grew up in the Grafton-St. Thomas, N.D., area. He worked as a carpenter in Drayton, N.D. He married
Sylvia Peterson on Feb. 19, 1949, in Kittson County, Minn. He moved to Grand Forks in 1955. He was a finish carpenter in the Grand Forks area. He worked for Frances Burke Construction, A and L Siding, Bergstrom Electric, Minn-Dak Growers and the Shriners Temple.
He is survived by a daughter, Karen Thompson, Denison, Iowa; a son, Greg, Grand Forks; a brother, Bob (Anna Margaret), Drayton; and sisters, Charmeyne (Dick) Blawatt and Geraldine Knutson, both of Drayton.
He was preceded in death
by his parents; and sisters, Jean Knoff and Delores Anson.
Services: 2 p.m. Monday in Valley Christian Center, Grand Forks.
Visitation: 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, with a 5 p.m. prayer service, in Stennes Funeral Home, East Grand Forks.
Victor Potulny
FORDVILLE, N.D. -- Victor Potulny, 85, Fordville, died
Thursday, Dec. 31, 1998, at home.
Victor James Potulny was born
March 2, 1913, the son of Martin and Anna (Gorecki) Potulny, in Fordville, where he attended school. He graduated from high school in 1931. He married
Rose Urban on Nov. 9, 1937, in Lankin, N.D. He spent his life farming, retiring in 1984. They moved into Fordville in 1972.
He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Rita (Thomas) Holland, Fosston, Minn.; a son, Jay (Beth), Grand Forks; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death
by a son, LaVere.
Services: 2: 30 p.m. Monday in St. Mark's Catholic Church, Conway, N.D.
Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, with a 7 p.m. prayer service, in Bakke Funeral Home, Fordville, and one hour before services in the church.

Bernice G. Wikoff
CROOKSTON -- Bernice G. Wikoff, 80, Crookston, died
Thursday, Dec. 31, 1998, in Riverview Hospital, Crookston.
Bernice G. Schmidt was born
Nov. 6, 1918, the daughter of Christian and Frances (Dressel) Schmidt, in Minneapolis, where she graduated from high school in 1937. She received a bachelor of science degree from the University of Minnesota in nursing education in 1941. She graduated from the Minneapolis General Hospital School of Nursing as an R.N. in 1942. She married
Howard Wikoff on March 19, 1942, in Minneapolis. She worked as a private duty nurse. They moved to Bemidji in 1949. In 1951, they moved to Crookston, where she worked at Riverview Hospital. She was a charter member of the American Association of University Women.
She is survived by her husband; daughters, Judith (Steve) Haas, Hermosa, S.D., JoAnn (Michael) Hamm, Danville, Ky., and Mary (Dale) Kuznia, Greenbush, Minn.; sons, Daniel (Kim), Mentor, Minn., Christian (Bonnie), Ashville, N.C., David (Jean), Minneapolis, and Larry (Debbie), East Grand Forks; 21 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Florence Schmidt, Rochester, Minn., and Doris King, LeSueur, Minn.; and a sister-in-law, Janet Schmidt, Minneapolis.
She was preceded in death
by a son, Theodore; and a brother, Christian.
Services: 2 p.m. Monday in Wesley United Methodist Church, Crookston.

Woodrow T. 'Woody' Carlson
CROOKSTON -- Woodrow T. "Woody" Carlson, 85, Crookston, died
Wednesday, Dec. 30, 1998, at home.
Woodrow T. Carlson was born
Aug. 6, 1913, the son of Clarence Albert and Maggie (Buck) Carlson, in Wood River Township, Burnett County, Wis. He moved with his family to Beltrami, Minn., where he attended school. He worked on the Alfred Olson farm and in the logging camps in Wisconsin. He also worked in the steel mills in Duluth, during World War II. He moved to Burbank, Calif., where he worked at the Lockheed Air craft Company. He returned to the area. He married
Stella "Topsy" Barlow on Jan. 15, 1945, in Crookston. He worked for the Crookston Implement Co., retiring in 1978. He worked for American Crystal Sugar Co. in Crookston during the harvest campaigns. Stella Carlson died
May 24, 1982.
He is survived by sons, David, Crookston, and Dennis, Hurst, Texas; daughters, Donna (Larry) Middleton, Hillsboro, Mo., and Carol (John) Abeld and Shirley Carlson, both of Crookston; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and sisters, Mabel Olson, Atlanta, Ga., and Eleanora Vetter, Manitowac, Wis.
He was preceded in death
by brothers, Edward, William and Arleigh; and sisters, Etta Skoglund, Lena Carlson, Myrtle Agelin, and Muriel Thibedeau

Elaine C. Hilde

Friday, Jan. 1, 1999, in St. Ansgar's Health Center, Park River, N.D.
Elaine C. Sundvor was born
Aug. 23, 1926, the daughter of Christ and Anna (Bjerke) Sundvor, in Edinburg. She attended school in Lampton Township, Walsh County, N.D. and graduated from high school in Park River. She attended Aakers Business College, Grand Forks. She worked as a secretary for Edwin Nygard Garage, Edinburg. She married
Clifford Hilde on March 24, 1948, in Edinburg. They lived and farmed in the Adams area until 1957. They moved to Park River and in 1960, they moved to Edinburg.
She is survived by her husband; a son, David (Lori), Edinburg; two grandchildren; a sister, Christine (Kenneth) Solberg, Rugby, N.D.; and a brother, Harold (Helen), Edinburg.
She was preceded in death
by a sister, Ada Lou Falos.
Services: 2 p.m. Monday in Trinity Lutheran Church, Edinburg.
Visitation: 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday in Tollefson Funeral Home, Edinburg, and one hour before services in the church.

Florestine 'Boo' Skabo
LANGDON, N.D. -- Florestine "Boo" Skabo, 85, Langdon, died
Friday, Jan. 1, 1999, in Maple Manor Care Center, Langdon.
Florestine Bouvier was born
April 5, 1913, the daughter of Arthur and Anastasia (Tetrault) Bouvier, in Bottineau, N.D. She grew up in Gravebourg, Sask., where she attended school. She received her degree as a registered nurse in 1933 from the Grey Nuns Hospital, Regina, Sask., where she also worked. She returned to the United States. She worked as a registered nurse at San Haven Sanitarium, Dunsieth, N.D. She married
Paul Kjerulf Skabo on Oct. 24, 1937, in Brandon, Man. They moved to Langdon, where they owned and operated the Coast to Coast store from 1937 to 1969. She also worked as a registered nurse at Mercy Hospital. Paul Skabo died
April 17, 1989.
She is survived by a son, Lynn (Fern), Naples, Fla.; former daughter-in-law, Vicki Skabo, Omaha, Neb.; four grandchildren; brothers, Hector (Elaine), Milk River, Alta., Andre (Lillian), Brooks, Alta, Roger (Jeanine), Calgary, Alta.; and sisters, Jenny Haines, Wilmington, Ohio, Valory (Gordon) Carr, Whaletown, B.C., Doria Huel, Gravelbourg, Sask, and Madeleine Sessions, Orange, Calif.

David S. Eikenes
David S. Eikenes, 94, Fargo, formerly of East Grand Forks, died
Saturday, Jan. 2, 1999, in Rosewood on Broadway, Fargo.
David S. Eikenes was born
Oct. 31, 1904, the son of Christian and Marie (Steen) Eikenes, in Overly, N.D. He graduated from Concordia College with a bachelor's degree in 1926 and received his master's degree in education administration from UND in 1941. He served as superintendent in Kramer, Knox and Wildrose, N.D. He was superintendent of schools in Warren, Minn., for 14 years. He was superintendent of schools in East Grand Forks from 1957 to 1974. He married
Beryl Graves on June 14, 1933, in Columbus, N.D. She preceded him in death
in 1992.
He is survived by daughters, Mary (Kent) Larsson, Mora, Minn., Jeanne Orr, Plymouth, Minn., Cherry (Todd) Goschen, Fargo, and Linda (Dale) Stinar, Mentor, Minn.; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death
by a sister, Dena Eikenes.
Services: 1 p.m. Wednesday in Our Savior's Lutheran Church, East Grand Forks.
Visitation: 11 a.m. until the time of services in the church.

Clifford Olson
Clifford Olson, 85, 1513 13th Ave. S., died
Friday, Jan. 1, 1999, in Altru Hospital, Grand Forks.
Clifford Olson was born
Jan. 29, 1913, the son of Edward and Gunda (Overby) Olson, in Wales, N.D. He attended school in Grand Forks. He married
Evelyn Nordby on Dec. 9, 1933, in Devils Lake. He worked for Gamble Robinson wholesale grocers in Devils Lake as a salesman. They moved in 1949 to Grand Forks, where he worked as a plumber for Lunseth Plumbing Co., until his retirement.
He is survived by his wife; a son, Glen, Eden Prairie, Minn.; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Ruth Adams and Helen Schmisek, both of Grand Forks; and a brother, Alvin, Richfield, Minn.
He was preceded in death
by a son, Robert; brothers, Arthur, Edwin and Henry; and a sister, Ethel Johnson.
Services: 1: 30 p.m. Wednesday in United Lutheran Church, Grand Forks.
Visitation: 11 a.m. until the time of services in the church.
Burial: Sunnywood Gardens Cemetery, Grand Forks (Amundson, Grand Forks).
