Jacob Fetsch
LANGDON, N.D. -- Jacob Fetsch, 87, Langdon, formerly of Dresden Township, Cavalier County, N.D., died Saturday, Nov. 14, 1998, in Cavalier County Memorial Hospital, Langdon.
Jacob J. Fetsch was born Oct. 9, 1911, the son of Peter and Theresa (Dietz) Fetsch, in Dresden Township., where he attended school and worked on area farms. He served in the U.S. Army from 1942 to 1945. He returned to Dresden Township, and farmed the family farm with his brothers. He retired from farming in 1978 and moved into Langdon that fall.
He is survived by a sister, Theresa Feil, Langdon; a brother, Eugene (Olga), Grand Forks; and a sister-in-law, Marie Fetsch, Langdon.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Wendel, Benedict, Mathew and Raymond; and a sister, Elizabeth.
Services: 10: 30 a.m. Monday, St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, Langdon.
Visitation: 2 to 5 p.m. today, Brooks Funeral Home, Langdon, with a 7: 30 p.m. prayer service today in the church, and one hour before services in the church.
Ina M. Stockman
Ina M. Stockman, 84, formerly of East Grand Forks, died Thursday, Nov. 12, 1998, in Deaconess Hospital, Northwood, N.D.
Ina M. Setterlund was born Oct. 20, 1914, the daughter of O.F. and Idie (Olson) Setterlund, in Barrett, Minn. She grew up an attended school in Elbow Lake, Minn. She attended Stout Institute in Wisconsin. She married Ralph Stockman on Jan. 1, 1939, in Elbow Lake. She worked in Minneapolis during World War II. They lived in St. Cloud before moving to East Grand Forks in 1957. Ralph Stockman died Nov. 13, 1997.
She is survived by a sister, June Doerfler, of California.
She was preceded in death by a son, Mark.
Services: 10 a.m. Tuesday, Our Savior's Lutheran Church, East Grand Forks.
Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, with a 6 p.m. prayer service.
Burial: Resurrection Cemetery, East Grand Forks.
Myrtle M. Larum
CROOKSTON -- Myrtle M. Larum, 91, Crookston, died Friday, Nov. 13, 1998, in Baton Rouge, La., where she had resided for the past five years.
Mrytle Marie Larum was born in 1907, the daughter of Oscar and Emma (Peterson) Aarnes, in Crookston, where she graduated from high school. She married Harold Larum in 1939. He died in 1976. She worked for Jesson's and later as a clerk and buyer for the New York Store.
She is survived by a daughter, Nancy Tumey, Baton Rouge; a son, Curtis, Deltona, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by brothers, Carol and Oscar; and sisters, Elva Skaug and Agnes Darkow.
Services: Today in Rabenhorst Funeral Home, Baton Rouge.
Burial: Oakdale Cemetery, Crookston.
Kenneth D. Walters
Kenneth D. Walters, 54, formerly of Grand Forks, died Friday, Nov. 13, 1998, in Durango, Colo., from a heart attack.
Kenneth Dale Walters was born Nov. 28, 1943, the son of Vernon and Natalie (Eisner) Walters, in Grand Forks, where he attended school. He graduated from UND. He joined the U.S. Army and served in the Vietnam War as a Green Beret.
He is survived by a daughter, Megan Walters, Durango; a son, David; his mother, Grand Forks; brothers, Robert and Vern, both of Grand Forks; sisters, Donna Jean, Grand Forks, and Linda, West Valley City, Utah; and a companion, Bonnie Rixford, Farmington, N.M.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Gwendolyn Marie; and his father.
Services: Wednesday in Durango. (Hood Mortuary, Durango, and Amundson, Grand Forks).
William P. 'Pat' Dunlap
William P. "Pat" Dunlap, 59, Grand Forks, died Friday, Nov. 13, 1998, at home.
William Patrick Dunlap was born July 27, 1939, the son of Earl and Gertrude (Phalen) Dunlap, in Grand Forks, where he attended school. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked for Altru Health Systems in Grand Forks.
He is survived by a son, Earl Patrick, Lynwood, Ill.; daughters, Kim Dunlap, Patricia Dunlap, Pam Dunlap, and Mary (Jim) Hennis, all of Villa Grove, Ill.; two granddaughters; and brothers, Thomas "Dick", Glenwood, Ill., and Daniel, Oregon, Ill.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Robert and John.
Services: 10 a.m. Monday, St. Michael's Catholic Church, Grand Forks.
Visitation: 1 to 6 p.m. today, with a 4 p.m. prayer service, Amundson Funeral Home.
Burial: Calvary Cemetery.
Leo T. Gagner
CROOKSTON -- Leo T. Gagner, 89, Champlin, Minn., formerly of Crookston, died Friday, Nov. 13, 1998, in Coon Rapids, Minn.
Leo T. Gagner was born July 9, 1909, in Terrebonne, Minn. He lived in Crookston, Cass Lake, Minn., and Apache Junction, Ariz. He worked for IDS for 40 years.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth; children, Sally (Bruce) Staggert, Dorothy Jardin (Tom Ryder), and John (Ruthan) Gagner; five grandchildren; three great-granddaughters; and a sister, Clara Deschene.
Services: Monday in St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Brooklyn Park, Minn.
Burial: St. Vincent's Cemetery (Evans-Norby, Osseo, Minn.).
Arthur M. Hanson
Arthur M. Hanson, 94, 2112 Eighth Ave. N., died Saturday, Dec. 5, 1998, in Altru Hospital, Grand Forks.
Arthur Melvin Hanson was born April 8, 1904, the son of Nels and Inegborg (Gulbranson) Hanson, in Oslo, Minn. He lived in Oslo and farmed in the Hoople, N.D., and Badger, Minn., areas. He married Rose Springan on March 24, 1937, in Warren, Minn. He moved to Grand Forks, where he worked as a carpenter for the Baukol Construction Co. He later worked as a radio dispatcher for the North Dakota State Highway Department until his retirement in 1969. Rose Hanson died Dec. 5, 1989.
He is survived by daughters, Alice Hanson, Grand Forks and Susan (Dennis) Wilson, Merrifield, N.D.; a son, Lynn (Nancy) Hanson, Kindred, N.D.; two grandsons; and brothers, Harold and Garfield (Gladys), both of Federal Way, Wash., and Rudy, Seattle, Wash.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Alfred, Clifford, Leonard, George and Hjelmer; and sisters, Gina, Tilda and Myrtle.
Services: 10 a.m. Tuesday in Stennes Funeral Home Chapel, East Grand Forks.
Visitation: 5 to 7: 30 p.m. today, with a 7: 30 p.m. prayer service in the funeral home.

Jerome 'Joe' Skibicki
THIEF RIVER FALLS -- Jerome "Joe" Skibicki, 77, Thief River Falls, died Saturday, Dec. 5, 1998, in Altru Hospital, Grand Forks.
Joe Skibicki was born Feb. 27, 1921, the son of Stephen and Kate (Beringer) Skibicki, in Kratka Township, Pennington County, Minn. He attended school in Kratka Township and Cloverleaf Township, Pennington County. He worked on area farms. He served in the U.S. Army. He returned to Goodridge, Minn., where he continued to farm. He married Myrtle Bye on Nov. 4, 1943, in Thief River Falls. They lived in the Goodridge area. In 1952, they moved to Cloverleaf Township. They moved to Thief River Falls in 1974. He farmed for several years and also worked as a logger. He worked for Land O' Lakes Elevator and retired from Pillsbury Processing, Grand Forks. He later worked for area farmers. Myrtle Skibicki died Nov. 19, 1997.
He is survived by daughters, Shirley (Edwin) Hruby, Audubon, Minn., Evonne (Phul) Wold, Crookston, Arlene (Gary) Novak, St. Hilaire, Minn., and Connie (Mike) Laufman, Warroad, Minn.; sons, Gary (Linda), Duluth, Wesley (Linda), Thief River Falls, Duane (Becky), Warroad, Steven, Salol, Minn., and Dean, Badger, Minn.; 25 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sisters, Agnes Corey, Lewistown, Mont., Dorothy "Dodo" Skibicki, Concord, Calif., and Mary (Wayne) Carlson, Sunnyvale, Calif.; and brothers, Pat (Irene) Woods, Santa Rose, Calif., and Clarence "Arnie" (Helen), St. Hilaire.
He was preceded in death by a grandson; sisters, Sarah Skibicki, Louise Skibicki and Leah Burtness; and brothers, Vincent "Beans" and Stanley "Butch."
Services: 2 p.m. Wednesday in St. Bernard's Catholic Church, Thief River Falls.

Patricia 'Pat' Ege
BLANCHARD, N.D. -- Patricia "Pat" Ege, 66, Blanchard, died Friday, Dec. 25, 1998, at home.
Patricia Ann Johnson was born June 22, 1932, the daughter of Richard and Lila (Olson) Johnson, in Fargo, where she attended school. She married Lynn Ege on Jan. 4, 1964, in Fargo. They lived and farmed in Blanchard.
She is survived by her husband; sons, Lonny Hanson, Jeff (Terri) Hanson, Jordan (Karen) Ege, and Peter Ege, all of Fargo; a daughter, Terri (Paul) Weixel, Colorado; and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday in Norman Lutheran Church, Clifford, N.D.
Prayer Service: 7 p.m. Tuesday in Baker Funeral Home, Mayville, N.D.

Irene E. Westman
THIEF RIVER FALLS -- Irene E. Westman, 66, Thief River Falls, died Saturday, Dec. 26, 1998, in the Convalescent Nursing Care Unit of Northwest Medical Center, Thief River Falls.
Irene Elizabeth Biolodeau was born Jan. 8, 1932, the daughter of George and Veronica (Derosier) Biolodeau, in Gorham, N.H., where she attended school. She married Eldor Westman on Jan. 8, 1954, in Gorham. They moved to Newfolden, Minn. She lived in the Newfolden and Strandquist, Minn., area until moving to the CNC unit of Northwest Medical Center.
She is survived by her husband, Strandquist; daughters, Diane Nelson, Tammy (John) Houske and Marla Westman, all of Thief River Falls, Debra (Maynard) Lillico, Newfolden, Judy (Dale) Webster, Chandler, Ariz., and Stacy Reese, Roseau, Minn.; sons, James (Wanda), Roseau, Darrell, Strandquist, Ronald (Angie) and Brian (Rhonda), both of Greenbush, Minn., and Clayton, Newfolden; 27 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sons-in-law, Tim Nelson, Newfolden, and Palmer Reese, Mesquite, Nev.; brothers, George (Mary), Buckfield, Maine, Ronald (Donna), Meredith, N.H., and Lewis (Nancy) and James (Linda), both of Gorham; and sisters, Shirley Sanborn, Wilder, Vt., Margaret Ellis, Chesterfield, Del., Joanne Peter, Gorham, and Lois (Covey) George, Berlin, N.H.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Daisy Biolodeau; and a brother, Ernest.

Antoinette Chaput
THIEF RIVER FALLS -- Antoinette Chaput, 99, Thief River Falls, formerly of Oklee, Minn., died Saturday, Dec. 26, 1998, in the Convalescent Nursing Care Unit of Northwest Medical Center, Thief River Falls, where she has lived since July 1997.
Antoinette Marie Marcelin was born June 28, 1899, in Olga, N.D., where she attended school. She attended the St. Aloysius Academy on Oakwood, N.D. She married Albert Chaput on March 28, 1921, in Olga. They farmed in the Olga and Pembina, N.D. area until 1951. They moved to Crookston, where she worked as a waitress at the Crookston hotel. In 1953, they moved to Watervliet, Mich., where she cooked at the convent for the sisterd of St. Joseph Catholic School. In 1969, they retired and moved to Oklee. Albert Chaput died Nov. 16, 1971. In 1985 she moved to Valley Home, Thief River Falls.
She is survived by a son, Raymond, Oklee; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Yvonne Fossum, Oregon.
She was preceded in death by a son, Eugene; a grandson; a great-grandson; and several brothers and sisters.
Services: 10: 30 a.m. Tuesday in St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Oklee.
Visitation: 5 to 8 p.m. today, with a 7: 30 p.m. prayer service, in Petterson Funeral Home, Oklee, and one hour before services in the church.

Anna O. Sundvor
EDINBURG, N.D. -- Anna O. Sundvor, 94, Edinburg, died Monday, Dec. 28, 1998, in Good Samaritan Center, Park River, N.D.
Anna O. Bjerke was born March 3, 1904, the daughter of Olaf and Olivia (Olson) Bjerke, in Arnes, Norway. At the age of two she immigrated with her family. They lived in Grafton, N.D., before moving to Adams, N.D. She attended school in Tibor Township, Walsh County, N.D. She married Christian Sundvor on Nov. 18, 1925. They lived and farmed in Edinburg. Christian Sundvor died in 1973. She remained on the farm until 1984, when she moved into Edinburg. In December 1992, she moved to Good Samaritan Center.
She is survived by daughters, Elaine (Cliff) Hilde, Edinburg, and Christine (Kenneth) Solberg, Rugby, N.D.; a son, Harold (Helen), Edinburg; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Alice (Raymond) Setnes, Adams.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Ada Lou Falos; brothers, Otto, Herman, Joseph, Carl, Magnus and Knute; and sisters, Amanda and Stella.
Services: 2 p.m. Thursday, Trinity Lutheran Church, Edinburg.
Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Tollefson Funeral Home, Edinburg, and one hour before services in the church.
Burial: Garfield Lutheran Cemetery, Edinburg.
