Lucille Rose Eng was born
May 8, 1929, the daughter of Henry and Pearl (Laurier) Eng, in Loma. She graduated from high school in Grafton, N.D., in 1947. She married
Carl Peterson on Sept. 4, 1950, in Grafton. They lived in North Dakota and South Dakota, settling in Belview in 1969. She was a housewife and a substitute teacher and managed Eastview Apartments in Belview. Carl Peterson died
Oct. 11, 1995.
She is survived by children, Thomas (Lindi), Kandiyohi, Minn., Patti (Tim) Berger, Badger, Minn., Mary Jo "Dodie" (Rick) Schaaf, Benson, Minn., and Jackie Widmer and Ann Bavier, both of Redwood Falls; 13 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brothers, Gene (Phyllis) and Ron (Marlene) both of Grafton, and John (Mary), Forest Lake, Minn.; and sisters, Audrey (Jarl) Pederson, Grand Forks, Kaye (Jim) Trouba, Jamestown, and Mary (Arlis) Bischoff, Grafton.
She was preceded in death
by her parents; a brother, Larry; and a sister, Fran Barrington.
Services: Were held in Seaforth, Minn. (Nelson, Redwood Falls).
Glenn E. Mosher
CROOKSTON -- Glenn E. Mosher, 82, Crookston, formerly of Beltrami, Minn., died
Wednesday, Dec. 2, 1998, in Riverview Hospital, Crookston.
Glenn Eugene Mosher was born
Oct. 11, 1916, the son of Bert and Elizabeth (Barth) Mosher, in Eagle Grove, Iowa. He attended school in Iowa and Minnesota. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He received the Purple Heart medal and was discharged in 1945. He returned to the area. He married
Gladys Poole in 1946. He managed Glenn's Inn in Beltrami before purchasing a farm in Beltrami. They retired and moved to Crookston. He worked for Ewing Construction, American Crystal Sugar Co., Wylee Trucking, in the Babbitt, Minn., iron mines, and for the Polk County Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service, planting trees. He entered Villa St. Vincent Nursing Home, Crookston, in 1990.
He is survived by his wife; a son, Mark (Sandy), Crookston; daughters, Phylis (Irving) Broden, Beltrami, Bonnie (Kim) Palmer and Suzie (Randy) Coauette, both of Crookston, and Brenda Pallas, Lubeck, Texas; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a brother, Earl, Crookston.
He was preceded in death
by a son, Dean; a sister, Gladys, and brothers, Richard, Kevin and Daniel "Doc".
Services: 10: 30 a.m. Friday, Trinity Lutheran Church, Beltrami.
Visitation: 5 to 8 p.m. today, with a 7: 30 p.m. prayer service, Stenshoel-Houske Funeral Home, Crookston, and one hour before services in the church.
Burial: Fairview Cemetery, Beltrami.

Kay V. Anderson
OBERON, N.D. -- Kay V. Anderson, 70, Glasglow, Mont., formerly of Oberon, died
of heart failure Monday, Nov. 30, 1998, in Benefis East Medical Center, Great Falls, Mont..
Kay Vera Rapson was born
March 1, 1928, the daughter of Robert and Annie (Vallier) Rapson, in Devils Lake. She lived in Oberon, where she attended school. She lived in North Dakota until moving in 1960 to Glasglow and Nashua, Mont. She worked for Frances Mahon Deaconess Hospital, Glasglow, and Valley View Nursing Home, before moving to Grand Rapids, Minn., in 1974. She returned to Glasglow in 1987. She resided in Billings, Mont., from 1990 to 1998. She returned to Glasglow in August 1998. She married
Darrell Anderson on Oct. 24, 1946, in New Rockford, N.D. He died
in 1967.
She is survived by a son, Einar, Glasglow; a daughter, Darlene Otten, Glasglow; four grandchildren; and sisters, Ramona Mckibbon, Mesa, Ariz., and Rene Odden, Grand Rapids.
She was preceded in death
by a brother, George.
Services: 10 a.m. Friday, Presbyterian Cemetery, Minnewaukan, N.D.

Ernest Torfin
PARK RIVER, N.D. -- Ernest Torfin, 90, Park River, died
Monday, Dec. 1, 1998, in Good Samaritan Center, Park River.
Ernest Torfin was born
May 30, 1908, the son of Albert and Ada (Linendoll) Torfin, in Aneta, N.D., where he graduated from high school. He married
Mildred Wilson on Sept. 16, 1933, in Jamestown. They lived in Devils Lake before moving in 1950 to Ely, Minn., where they co-owned the National Bakery with his brother, Clinton. They moved in 1956 to Park River, where they operated Ernie's Bakery until 1969. Mildred Torfin died
March 19, 1994.
He is survived by daughters, Marilyn Koshak, Aurora, Minn., Erma (Jim) Bohar, Jordan, Minn., Jeannie Larson, Shakopee, Minn., and Linda (Mike) Herzog, Phoenix; a son, Bruce (Lynne), Park River; 17 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; a brother, Clinton (Wanda), Bemidji; and a sister, Marvel Martin, Mitchell, S.D.
He was preceded in death
by a son, Arthur; a granddaughter; a great-great-grandson; a sister, Phyllis; and a brother, Curtis.
Services: 2 p.m. Friday, Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, Park River.

Louise Moilanen
BROCKET, N.D. -- Louise Moilanen, 82, Brocket, died
Tuesday, Dec. 1, 1998, in Lakota Good Samaritan Center, Lakota, N.D.
Louise C. Sundeen was born
Jan. 21, 1916, the daughter of John and Anna (Bakken) Sundeen, in Brocket, where she attended school. She graduated from Lakota (N.D.) High School in 1933. She married
Art Anderson in 1938. They lived in Montana before returning to Brocket in 1944. She married
Albert Moilanen on Nov. 4, 1954, in Brocket. They lived in Brocket, where she worked for Brocket Mercantile, was postmaster and was a teacher's aide. She worked for Miller's Shopping Center on the Prairie and later as a bookkeeper for Brocket Oil Co.
She is survived by her husband; a daughter, Kristy (Paul) Tronson, Doyon, N.D.; sons, Gene (Marilyn), Grafton, and Neil (Patricia), Lakota; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Magda Jerijarvi, Mountain View, Calif.
She was preceded in death
by sisters, Olga Simons, Agnes Bjorn, Dagny Severtson; and brothers, Olaf, Louis, James, Victor, Fred and Nils.
Services: 10 a.m. Saturday, United Lutheran Church, Brocket.

Kenneth Marquart
LAKOTA, N.D. -- Kenneth Marquart, 57, Lakota, died
Tuesday, Dec. 1, 1998, in Community Hospital, McVille, N.D.
Kenneth A. Marquart was born
Feb. 20, 1941, the son of Julius and Fredella (Ver Steeg) Marquart, in Hancock, Minn. He moved with his parents to Lakota, N.D., in 1944. He lived on the family farm until moving to Lakota in 1980.
He is survived by his mother, of Lakota; a brother, Irving (Gladys), Lakota, and a sister, Norma Kuck, Lakota.
He was preceded in death
by his father; sisters, Arlene Clauson and Idella Ludtke; and a brother, Robert.
Services: 2 p.m. Friday, United Church of Christ, Lakota.

Elizabeth Mann
DEVILS LAKE -- Elizabeth Mann, 97, Devils Lake, died
Tuesday, Dec. 1, 1998, in Heartland Care Center, Devils Lake.
Elizabeth Steffen was born
March 7, 1901, the daughter of Ludwig and Marion (Burckhard) Steffen, in LaMoure, N.D. She attended school in Orrin, N.D. She moved in 1916 to Devils Lake and later to Milwaukee. She returned to Devils Lake. She married
William Mann on Oct. 23, 1944, in Devils Lake. He died
May 20, 1984. She worked at Majestic Cleaners, retiring in 1962 but continued to work part-time.
She is survived by a sister-in-law, Frances Steffen, Devils Lake.
She was preceded in death
by six brothers; and three sisters.
Services: 10 a.m. Saturday, St. Joseph's Parish Center Chapel, Devils Lake.
Visitation: 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, with a 7: 30 p.m. prayer service, and 8: 30 a.m. to 9: 30 a.m. Saturday, Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake.

Thomas J. Hoffarth
Thomas J. Hoffarth, 57, Route 2, died
Tuesday, Dec. 1, 1998, in Altru Hospital.
Thomas Joseph Hoffarth was born
Nov. 8, 1941, the son of Otto and Rosina (Kroetsch) Hoffarth, in Langdon, N.D., where he graduated from high school in 1958. He attended State School of Science, Wahpeton, N.D., earning a degree in air handling systems. He joined the U.S. Army on Jan. 8, 1964. He returned to Grand Forks and worked for Hastings Heating and Sheetmetal and currently for J.R. Simplot Co. He married
Shirley Goihl on May 16, 1970, in Grand Forks.
He is survived by his wife; daughters, Vicky (Mike) Jensen, Thief River Falls, and Judy (Jeremy) Anderson, Grand Forks; two grandchildren; his mother; sisters, Rosemary (Howard) Groven, Portland, N.D., Sandra (Jack) Croce, Lake Forest, Calif., Mary Ellen (Michael) Stephens, Elizabethtown, Pa., and Pat (Bruce) Burckhard, Devils Lake; and brothers, Jerome (Martha), Awen, Wis., Lloyd (Joan), Lakota, N.D., Gary (Bonnie), Wildamar, Calif., Francis (Marion) and Ronald (Kristen), both of Langdon, and Glen (Elaine), Grand Forks.
He was preceded in death
by his father; and a sister, Luella.

He is survived by his parents; sisters, Shayleen Myers, Bismarck, and Kayla Gust, Grand Forks; a brother, Matthew Gust, Grand Forks; grandparents, Joy and Steve Myers, Dunseith, N.D., and Marilynn and James One Feather, Bismarck; and great-grandparents, Steve and Ann Myers, Belcourt, Theodore Byzewski, Manvel, N.D., and Melvin and Germaine Eagle, Bullhead, S.D.
He was preceded in death
by great-grandparents, Alice and Jerome LaRocque, Ray Byzewski Sr., Josephine Byzewski and Beatrice Eagle.

Violet M. Klingbeil
BEMIDJI -- Violet M. Klingbeil, 77, Bemidji, died
Tuesday, Dec. 22, 1998, in North Country Regional Hospital, Bemidji.
Violet Myrtle Klingbeil was born
April 16, 1921, the daughter of Frank and Mary (Gessell) Klingbeil, in Trail, Minn. The family moved to Pinewood, Minn., where she attended school. She worked in Bemidji as a bakers assistant. She moved away from Bemidji until her return in 1966.
She is survived by a sister, Emma Jewell, Pinewood.
She was preceded in death
by brothers, William, John, Frank, Walter and Carl; and sisters, Ella, Ruby and Martha.
Services: 10 a.m. Saturday, Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home, Bemidji.
