Clifton J. McIntyre, 67, Mission, Kan., formerly of Grand Forks, died
Friday, Jan. 15, 1999, in Ivinson Memorial Hospital.
Clifton J. McIntyre was born
Nov. 9, 1931, in Grand Forks. He moved to Mission in 1976. He worked as a produce buyer for the Safeway Food Stores for 30 years, retiring in 1991.
He is survived by a son, James (Christin), Mission; a daughter, Cathy (Ed) Hammett, Anchorage, Alaska; three grandchildren; a brother, Ardell, Selma, Ala.; and a sister, Veronica Wasek, St. Cloud, Minn.
He was preceded in death
by his wife, Myrna, in 1996.
Services: 10 a.m. Thursday, St. Pius X Catholic Church.
Burial: Resurrection, Lenexa, Kan. Memorials are suggested to the Salvation Army. (McGilly & Hoge).
Ella Hendricks
HILLSBORO, N.D. -- Ella Hendricks, 96, Hillsboro, died
Saturday, Jan. 16, 1999, in Hillsboro Medical Center Hospital.
Ella Ludwig was born
Nov. 30, 1902, the daughter of Vincent and Mary (Rust) Ludwig, in Kelso, N.D. She attended school in Kelso and Bohnsack Township. She married
George Hendricks in April 1940, in Hillsboro. He died
April 22, 1967. She worked for many area cafes and restaurants. She provided child care for many area families. He moved to the Hillsboro Medical Center Nursing Home in August 1998.
She is survived by a daughter, Alice (Harold) McDonald, Hillsboro; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a brother, Walter (Violet), Hillsboro; and sisters, Dorothy (Siems) Harrison, Clinton, Minn., and Clara Reyelts, Wahpeton, N.D.
She was preceded in death
by sons, Wallace and Duane; daughters, Phyllis Thorstad and Georgia Steffen; a grandson; a great-grandson; brothers, Willard, John, Ernest, Harry, George, Albert and Art.; and a sister, Della Ludwig.
Services: 2 p.m. Wednesday, St. John Lutheran Church, Hillsboro.
Visitation: 1 to 7: 30 p.m. Tuesday, with a 7: 30 p.m. prayer service, Wildeman Funeral Home, Hillsboro, and one hour before services in the church.
Burial: Riverside Cemetery, Hillsboro.
Neil Anderson
FAIRDALE, N.D. -- Neil Anderson, 63, Steele, N.D., formerly of Fairdale, died
Saturday, Jan. 16, 1999, in a local hospital.
Neil Glen Anderson was born
July 22, 1935, the son of Ole and Gladys (Hanson) Anderson, in Fairdale. He was home-schooled and lived with his parents most of his life. After his father's death
he continued to live with his mother until her death
in 1981. He moved to the Golden Manor Nursing Home, Steele, in August 1981, where he has lived since.
He is survived by sisters, Olive (James) Goldesberry, Thief River Falls, and Clarilyn (Al) Riedinger, Steele.
Services: 2 p.m. Wednesday, Golden Manor Chapel, Steele.
Visitation: Noon to 9 p.m. Tuesday and 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Eastgate Chapel, Steele, and one hour before services in Golden Manor Chapel.
Edythe Dovenmuehler
DRAYTON, N.D. -- Edythe Dovenmuehler, 87, Drayton, died
Friday, Jan. 15, 1999, in Kittson Memorial Healthcare Center, Hallock, Minn.
Edythe Alyce Anderson was born
June 4, 1911, the daughter of Oscar and Gertrude Anderson, in Kennedy, Minn., where she graduated from high school. She attended Moorhead State Teachers College. She taught school in Kennedy for several years. She married
Harold Dovenmuehler on June 11, 1939, in Kennedy. She was a homemaker and worked in the grocery stores they owned and operated. Harold Dovenmuehler died
Jan. 30, 1996.
She is survived by a son, the Rev. Robert (Judy), Sioux Falls, S.D.; a daughter, Mary McKinstry, Westchester, Ill.; and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death
by two brothers; and a sister.
Services: 3 p.m. Tuesday, Drayton Lutheran Church.
Visitation: 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, Adamson-Austin Funeral Home, Drayton, and one hour before services in the church.

Mark Sobolik
Mark Sobolik, 47, Mandan, N.D., formerly of Grand Forks, died
Friday, Nov. 6, 1998, in Grand Forks.
Mark James Sobolik was born
Oct. 9, 1951, the son of Terry and Mildred (Pribula) Sobolik, in Grafton, N.D. He grew up in Grand Forks, where he graduated from high school in 1970. He married
Barbara Lundby on April 30, 1971, in Grand Forks. He was a self-employed salesman in Bismarck and past member of the National Guard.
He is survived by his wife; sons, Jason, Garrison, N.D., Jamie, Maple Grove, Minn., Joe, Grand Forks, and Jene, Mandan; his mother, Mesa, Ariz.; and a brother, Craig, Bismarck.
He was preceded in death
by his father.
Services: 1: 30 p.m. today, Spirit of Life Catholic Church, Mandan.
Visitation: 9 a.m. to noon today at Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan, and one hour before services in the church.
Burial: 4 p.m. Friday, Memorial Park, Grand Forks.
Irene M. Knudsen
BREMEN, N.D. -- Irene M. Knudsen, 95, Bremen, died
Monday, Nov. 9, 1998, at Carrington (N.D.) Health Center.
Irene Mary Lies was born
Nov. 15, 1902, the daughter of Math and Mary (Subert) Lies, in Bremen, where she attended school. She also attended St. James Academy, New Rockford, N.D. She married
Rudolph Knudsen on Oct. 25, 1921, in Bremen. They operated the General Store & Post Office in Bremen. They also operated Knudsen & Bower Implement Co., Bremen. She had worked as a telephone operator in Bremen, and played piano for silent movies at the Bremen Hall. Rudolph Knudsen died
in 1949. She worked at the Implement Co. until 1955, when she moved to West Fargo. She worked for the Johnny Layman Clothing Store until 1957, when she retired and moved back to Bremen. In 1980, she moved to New Rockford returning to Bremen in 1997.
She is survived by a son, Duane, Christine, N.D.; a daughter, Donna Me (Ray) O'Connor, Bremen; a daughter-in-law, Ellen Knudsen, Fergus Falls, Minn.; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; a brother, Romeo, Cathay, N.D.; and a sister, Beatrice Zander, New Rockford.
She was preceded in death
by two sons in infancy and James Dale; and three sisters.

Bert Smith
WALHALLA, N.D. -- Bert Smith, 99, Walhalla, died
Tuesday, Nov. 10, 1998, in Pembilier Nursing Center, Walhalla.
Bert Smith was born
Sept. 15, 1899, the son of Alex and Sarah (Blaisdell) Smith, in Lamoure Township, Pembina County, N.D. He attended school in Walhalla and farmed in the area. He married
Stella Nodwell on Dec. 21, 1931, in Langdon, N.D. They lived on the farm until he retired in 1985 and moved into Walhalla. He entered the nursing home in December 1996.
He is survived by his wife; daughters, Dolores Balsdon, Osnabrock, N.D., and Arlene (Larry) Bowles, Rapid City, S.D.; sons, Delbert (Karan), Beaver Creak, Ohio, Allan (Laurel), Walhalla, and Gary (Marilyn), Afton, Minn.; 13 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death
by two sisters; and a brother.
Services: 10: 30 a.m. Saturday, Park Center-Walhalla Presbyterian Church.

Sunday, Nov. 8, 1998, in Medford.
Lloyd Christopher was born
Dec. 7, 1915, the son of William and Emma (Kjorven) Christopher, in Grand Forks.
He is survived by his wife, Gwen; daughters, Teresa Lewis, Fresno, Calif., and Eva Forrette, Medford; five grandchildren; a sister, Lillian Ege, Fargo; and brothers, Wallace, Hillsboro, N.D., and Emmons, Grand Forks.

Harold Wiseman
COOPERSTOWN, N.D. -- Harold Wiseman, 77, Cooperstown, died
Sunday, Nov. 8, 1998, at home.
Harold Wiseman was born
May 21, 1921, the son of Roy and Anna (Moline) Wiseman, in Williston, where he attended school. He served in the Army Air Corps from 1942 to 1945. He married
Miriam Brown on Oct. 27, 1945, in East Liverpool, Ohio. They returned to Williston, where they farmed. In 1953, they moved to Cooperstown and farmed. He worked part-time for Reitea Inc., Cooperstown. He retired in 1977 and moved into Cooperstown.
He is survived by his wife; a son, Rodney (Lois), Cooperstown; a daughter, Nancy (Robert) Wahlund, Valley City, N.D.; six grandchildren; a brother, Carl (Dolores), Williston; and a sister, Blanche Brown, Bismarck.
Services: 10: 30 a.m. today, Quam-Plaisted-Cushman Funeral Home, Cooperstown.
Visitation: One hour before services in the church.

EDINBURG, N.D. -- Clifford B. Troftgruben, 87, Edinburg, died
Monday, Nov. 9, 1998, in Pembina County Memorial Hospital, Cavalier, N.D.
Clifford B. Troftgruben was born
Aug. 27, 1911, the son of Ludvig and Mary (Sondreson) Troftgruben, in Edinburg. He attended school in Tiber Township, Walsh County, N.D. He farmed the family farm. He married
Ida Monsebroten on Oct. 26, 1936, in Park River, N.D. They retired and moved to Edinburg in 1986. Ida Troftgruben died
Dec. 24, 1992. He moved to Borg Nursing Home in 1995 and to Wedgewood Manor, Cavalier, in 1997.
He is survived by a son, Burnell (Judy), Park River; a daughter, Jane (Duane) Beck, Underwood, N.D.; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a brother, Lenes (Ernestine) Edinburg; and a sister, Lila Sanford, of Texas.
He was preceded in death
by a son, Eugene; two grandsons; three brothers; and two sisters.
Services: 10 a.m. Friday, Trinity Lutheran Church, Edinburg.

Gertrude 'Trudie' Rogalla
Gertrude "Trudie" Rogalla, 83, 2049 26th Ave S., died
Tuesday, Nov. 10, 1998, in Valley Eldercare.
Gertrude Rogalla was born
March 13, 1915, the daughter of Leon and Elizabeth (Wysocki) Rogalla, in Minto. She was raised in Minto and attended school in Warsaw, N.D. She moved to Chicago in 1938 and worked as a office worker until retiring in 1977. She returned to Grand Forks in 1996, to live with her sister.
She is survived by a sister, Loretta Musil, Grand Forks.
She was preceded in death
by sisters, Sophie, Angeline, Irene, Mary, Stephanie, Ann and Julene; and brothers, Florian, Dominic, Richard, George and Roman.
Services: 1: 30 p.m. Saturday, St. Michael's Catholic Church, Grand Forks.
Visitation: Two hours before services in the church.
