Raymond L. Papachek
DEVILS LAKE -- Raymond L. Papachek, 87, Devils Lake, formerly of Warwick, N.D., died
Saturday, Aug. 29, 1998, at home.
Raymond L. Papachek was born
Sept. 18, 1910, the son of Jacob and Frances (Lestina) Papachek, in Warwick, where he attended school. He married
Evelyn Stubson on June 26, 1934, in New Rockford. They lived for two years on the West Coast, where they did fruit and vegetable picking. They moved in April 1939 to Devils Lake, where they farmed for 59 years. Evelyn Papachek died
April 18, 1998.
He is survived by a son, Ronald (Connie), Cando, N.D.; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and sisters, Agnes Clift, Rolla, N.D., and Irene Carlson, and Phyllis Papachek, both of Warwick.
He was preceded in death
by brothers, Eugene, Benjamin, Thomas, George and Edward; and a sister, Bessie Daniels.
Services: 10 a.m. Tuesday in Warwick Lutheran Church.
Visitation: 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today in Gilbertson Funeral Home, and one hour before services in the church.
Burial: Warwick Community Cemetery.
Ione Hegre
MAYVILLE, N.D. -- Ione Hegre, 63, Fargo, formerly of Mayville, died
Saturday, Aug. 29, 1998, in MeritCare Hospital, Fargo.
Ione Elaine Nystrom was born
Oct. 24, 1934, the daughter of Ingvald and Eliza (Erickson) Nystrom, in Mayville. She grew up in the West Union area of North Dakota. She graduated from high school in Northwood, N.D., in 1952. She attended Concordia College, Moorhead. She worked for the Fargo offices of Lutheran Social Services . She married
Gordon Hegre on Oct. 2, 1954, in Northwood. They lived in Fargo, where she worked for the Cass County Extension office, retiring in 1986. They continued to live in Fargo and spend summers at their lake home on Lake Lida, Minn.
She is survived by her husband; daughters, Kathryn (David) Klug, Fargo, and Karen (Bob) Barto, Dillon, Colo.; a son Jonathon (Michelle), Palmdale, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and a sister, Phyllis Torgerson, Fargo.
Services: 3: 30 p.m. Wednesday, Olivet Lutheran Church, Fargo.
Visitation: 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.
Burial: Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Pelican Rapids, Minn.
Idyll Hertzelle
Idyll Hertzelle, 74, 2200 S. 29th St., died
Tuesday, Sept. 15, 1998, in Altru Hospital, Grand Forks.
Idyll Lucille Sannes was born
Sept. 16, 1923, the daughter of Olivier and Mable (Johnson) Sannes, in Edinburg, N.D. She graduated from high school in Park River, N.D. She married
Czar Hertzelle on May 24, 1941, in Grafton, N.D. They moved to Grand Forks in 1946. Czar Hertzelle died
Jan. 23, 1990.
She is survived by sons, Roger (Patricia) and Marlin (Cheryl), both of St. Louis, Mo.; a daughter, Cheryl Boden, St. Louis; six grandchildren; brothers, Lyle, Marion, Iowa, and Gerald, Orange, Calif.; and sisters, Blanche Koch, Steilacoom, Wash., and Maryann Sannes, Orange.
She was preceded in death
by five brothers and two sisters.
Services: 5: 30 p.m. Friday, Calvary Lutheran Church, Grand Forks, and 10: 30 a.m. Saturday, Memorial Park Cemetery, Park River.
Visitation: 7 to 9 p.m. today, Amundson Funeral Home, Grand Forks.

Edward 'Eddy' Grabinski
Edward "Eddy" Grabinski, 71, 2630 Fourth Ave. N., died
Tuesday, Sept. 15, 1998, at home.
Edward Daniel Grabinski was born
July, 21, 1927, the son of Leo and Angela (Korynta) Grabinski, in Ardoch, N.D., where he attended school. He married
Maxine Smith on Jan. 27, 1948, in East Grand Forks. They moved to Grand Forks, where he worked for Associated Potato Growers. He also owned and operated a construction business. He retired in 1983.
He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Sharon (Gary) Nelson, Grand Forks; a son, Donald (Lynn), East Grand Forks; four grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; a brother, Hilary, Grand Forks; and sisters, Del Derrick and Delores Pederson, both of East Grand Forks.
He was preceded in death
by a sister, Frances.
Services: 10: 30 a.m. Friday, St. Michael's Catholic Church, Grand Forks.
Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. today, with a 7 p.m. prayer service, in Gregory J. Norman Funeral Chapel, Washington Street, Grand Forks.

Gladys E. Timms
CANDO, N.D. -- Gladys E. Timms, 87, Cando, died
Monday, Sept. 14, 1998, in Towner County Medical Center, Cando.
Gladys Evelyn Smith was born
March 22, 1911, the daughter of John and Josephine (Johnson) Timms, in Churchs Ferry, N.D., where she attended school. She married
Harold Timms on June 11, 1932, in Devils Lake. They farmed near Cando until retiring in 1968. Harold Timms died
Oct. 3, 1988. She moved into Cando in January 1982 and entered the Saint Frances Residence of Cando in May 1998.
She is survived by sons, Donald (Verna), Newark, Ohio, Robert (Norma) and Gary (Mary), both of Cando, and George (Joan), Mesquite, Texas; daughters, Karen (Dave) Shadrick, Great Falls, Mont., and Cindy Timms, Devils Lake; 13 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; brothers, Leon, Churchs Ferry, N.D., and Frank, Fargo; and a sister, Eva Dix, Minneapolis.
She was preceded in death
by two infant daughters; two brothers; and four sisters.

Agnes T. Larsen
GALESBURG, N.D. -- Agnes T. Larsen, 89, Hunter, N.D., formerly of Galesburg, died
Tuesday, Sept. 15, 1998, in Union Hospital, Mayville, N.D.
Agnes T. Thompson was born
Oct. 16, 1908, the daughter of Christian and Johanna (Lee) Thompson, in Hunter, where she attended school. She married
Edward Larsen on March 7, 1934, in Moorhead. They farmed in the Galesburg and Hunter area until 1958, when they moved into Hunter.
She is survived by her husband; a son, Myron, Hunter; a daughter, Jane Zelinski, Spokane, Wash.; and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death
by four brothers and two sisters.
Services: 10: 30 a.m. Friday, First Lutheran Church, Hunter.
Visitation: 3 to 6 p.m. today, with a 7 p.m. prayer service, Baker Funeral Home, Mayville, and one hour before services in the church.

Margaret J. Christianson

Monday, Sept. 14, 1998, in Devils Lake.
Margaret Johanna Hanson was born
Feb. 12, 1907, the daughter of Herman and Johanna (Nelson) Hanson, in Kittson County, Minn. She married
Melvin Christianson on Dec. 12, 1929, in Devils Lake.
She is survived by a daughter, Joan Cruse, Devils Lake; daughter-in-law, Faye Christianson, Devils Lake; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death
by her husband; a son, Gordon; a great-grandson; and 15 brothers and sisters.
Services: 2 p.m. Friday, Peace Lutheran Church, Devils Lake.
Visitation: 2 to 8 p.m. today and 9 to 11 a.m. Friday in Aaker, Dunnigan & Brooks Funeral Home, Devils Lake, and one hour before services in the church.

Edna A. Burchill
FINLEY, N.D. -- Edna A. Burchill, 76, Finley, died
Wednesday, Sept. 16, 1998, in Eventide Nursing Home, Moorhead.
Edna Annie Grotte was born
Jan. 11, 1922, the daughter of Swen and Annie (Sund) Grotte, in Pickert, N.D., where she attended school. She married
Hubert Burchill on Nov. 12, 1941, in Moorhead. They farmed near Pickert.
She is survived by her husband, Fargo; a son, Lyle (Grace), Hope, N.D., Lavonne (Ronald) Guttormson, New Hope, Minn., and Linda (Kenneth) Ross, Winnipeg, Man.; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Jean (Berle) Carlson, Leonard, N.D., and Fern (Thomas) Hanson, Kindred, N.D.; and brothers, Jennings, Arthur, N.D., Ernest and Walter, both of Finley, and Jon and Marvin, both of Minneapolis.

Mary Rosenberg
NEW ROCKFORD, N.D. -- Mary Rosenberg, 79, New Rockford, died
Wednesday, Sept. 16, 1998, in Carrington (N.D.) Health Center.
Mary Anderson was born
Feb. 22, 1919, the daughter of Martin and Serena (Roaldson) Anderson, in New Rockford. She grew up in Brantford, N.D., and graduated from high school in New Rockford. She attended Valley City (N.D.) State University and received her teaching certificate. She taught in several schools in Tiffany Township, Eddy County, and New Rockford. She married
Lloyd Rosenberg on Nov. 28, 1941. They lived and farmed in the Brantford area. In 1982, they moved to New Rockford. Lloyd Rosenberg died
Aug. 21, 1989.
She is survived by a son, Dale, New Rockford; a daughter, Phyllis (Roger) Topp, Grace City, N.D.; four grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; a brother, Gilbert, Missoula, Mont.; and sisters, Alma Berglund, Minneapolis, and Ione Valer, New Rockford.
She was preceded in death
by a son, Gary; brothers, Elmer and George; and a sister, Ruth Topp.
Services: 2 p.m. Friday, Kvernes Lutheran Church, Carrington.

Suzanne A. Boscher
Suzanne A. Boscher, 100, Valley Memorial Homes Eldercare Center, formerly of 710 Fourth Ave. S., died
Tuesday, Sept. 15, 1998, in the nursing home.
Suzanne Marie Augustine Lesage was born
March 21, 1898, the daughter of Adolphe and Marie Louise (Moitie) Lesage, in Cherbourg, France. She attended school in England. She married
Eugene Boscher on Sept. 5, 1921, in Cherbourg. They moved to the United States on Oct. 22, 1957, and lived in Grand Forks. She became a naturalized U.S. Citizen in 1964. Eugene Boscher died
Nov. 12, 1986.
She is survived by a daughter, Lyse (Jacques) Etienne, Cherbourg; and five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death
by a daughter, Michelle Albrecht; and a granddaughter.
Services: 7 p.m. Monday, Amundson Funeral Home, Grand Forks.

Ronald 'Ron' Bray
CROOKSTON -- Ronald "Ron" Bray, 58, Crookston, died
Tuesday, July 28, 1998, in Riverview Hospital, Crookston.
Ronald Bray was born
Jan. 17, 1940, the son of Elmer and Elnora (Meyer) Bray, in Crookston, where he graduated from high school in 1958. He served in the U.S. Army from Feb. 17, 1959 to Feb. 5, 1961. He returned to Crookston, where he worked in construction with George Myrold. He married
Sonja Engen on Nov. 14, 1964, in Crookston. In 1965, they moved to Minneapolis, where he worked in construction. They returned to Crookston in 1974. He worked for Crane Plumbing and Heating, Osowski Electric, Terra, a truck driver and construction worker, until his retirement.
He is survived by his wife; a son, Derek, Decatur, Ill.; a daughter, Beth, Richfield, Minn.; his mother, Vancouver, Wash.; and brothers, Chico, Portland, Ore., and Dean, Vancouver.
He was preceded in death
by his father.
Services: 10 a.m. Friday, Stenshoel-Houske Funeral Home, Crookston.
