Siebert Stromsodt
COOPERSTOWN, N.D. -- Siebert Stromsodt, 92, Cooperstown, died Thursday, Nov. 26, 1998, in Griggs County Hospital, Cooperstown.
Siebert Stromsodt was born Nov. 13, 1906, the son of Peter and Christina (Lommen) Stromsodt, in Grand Forks, where he attended school. He moved to Cooperstown in 1928. He married May Christopherson on June 30, 1930, in Aneta, N.D. They farmed in the Cooperstown area until retiring in 1970. He worked for Great Plains Lumber, Finley, N.D., and on construction with his son. May Stromsodt died May 21, 1987.
He is survived by sons, Sherman (Alice) and Charles, both of Cooperstown, and LeRoy (Janet), Binford, N.D.; five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; two stepgreat-grandchildren; a sister, Palma, Grand Forks; and a brother, Hjalmer, Hatton, N.D.
He was preceded in death by six brothers; and three sisters.
Services: 2 p.m. Monday, Quam-Plaisted-Cushman, Cooperstown.
Visitation: 1 to 7 p.m. Sunday, with a 7 p.m. prayer service, and one hour before services, all in the funeral home.
Burial: Ringsaker Cemetery, Cooperstown.
Marion J. Everson
DEVILS LAKE -- Marion J. Everson, 64, Devils Lake, died Thursday, Nov. 26, 1998, in Mercy Hospital, Devils Lake.
Marion Jane Aabrekke was born Nov. 7, 1934, the daughter of John and Molly (Skytland) Aabrekke, in Brinsmade, N.D. She attended school in Brinsmade and graduated from high school in Leeds, N.D., in 1953. She married Marvin "Bud" Everson on Oct. 5, 1957, in Leeds. They lived in Devils Lake. Marvin Everson died Oct. 7, 1983. She was manager of the JCPenney Catalog store, Devils Lake and later was owner and operator of Swenson Plumbing and Heating.
She is survived by a daughter, Marlys (Roger) Joramo, Devils Lake; sons, John (Melinda) and Mark, both of Devils Lake; 10 grandchildren; sisters, Ardell Ferestad and Rugby (Duane) Boehmer, both of Devils Lake; and a brother, Gilbert (Gertie), Devils Lake.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Services: 1 p.m. Sunday, Peace Lutheran Church, Devils Lake.
Visitation: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today, with a 4 p.m. prayer service, Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake, and one hour before services in the church.
Burial: Devils Lake Cemetery.
Harvey W. Glenn
PEMBINA, N.D. -- Harvey W. Glenn, 76, Conroe, Texas, formerly of Pembina, died Wednesday, Nov. 25, 1998, in M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, Houston.
Harvey Wade Glenn was born Feb. 14, 1922, the son of Morgan and Bonnie Lee (Reed) Glenn, in Ryan, Okla. He joined the Civilian Conservation Corps, where he earned his high school diploma, and attended Cameron Junior College, Lawton, Okla. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He married Mildred June (Hawkins) Glenn, on Sept. 24, 1944, in Tulsa, Okla. He earned his bachelor's degree from Oklahoma A&M (Oklahoma State). He worked with his father and brother building homes, managed a grocery story and a roller skating rink. He worked as a butcher and later as a U.S. postal worker. He worked for the Department of Treasury and U.S. Customs Bureau as an agent in Laredo, San Antonio, Port Arthur and Houston, Texas, and in Pembina, as a special agent-in-charge in 1970. He returned to Houston in 1976 and retired in 1977. During his employment with the U.S. Customs, he acted as a sky marshal to protect international flights from terrorism and protected President Lyndon Johnson and Vice President Hubert H. Humphrey, as a Secret Service agent. He attended graduate school at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas.
He is survived by his wife; a son, Gary (Joy), Palestine, Texas; daughters, Victoria LaFleur, Texas City, Texas, and Rhandi (Miles Scott) Clow, Grand Forks; seven grandchildren; a great-grandchild; brothers, Morgan Jr., Oklahoma City, Okla., and Winston (Martha), Mema, Neb.
He was preceded in death by sisters, Mary Louisa Glenn and Freda Edwards.
Services: 2 p.m. Monday, First Baptist Church, Red Oak, Okla.
Visitation: Sunday afternoon in Jones Funeral Home, Wilburton, Okla.
Burial: Red Oak Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Leukemia Society of America or the Gideon Society.
Alice Myron
NORTHWOOD, N.D. -- Alice Myron, 89, Northwood, died Tuesday, Nov. 24, 1998, in Altru Hospital, Northwood.
Alice Brorby was born April 1, 1909, the daughter of Gunerious and Caroline Brorby, in Northwood, where she attended school. She married Charles Myron on Nov. 30, 1930, in Fisher, Minn. They lived in Arvilla and New Town, N.D., and Northwood. Charles Myron died July 23, 1987.
She is survived by sons, Jim (Sue), Northwood, David (Debbie) and Darrel (Glenda), both of Northwood; daughters, Jane (John) Kaiser, Hemet, Calif., Pat (Robert) Asleson, West Fargo, and Diane Sondreal and Jan (Don) Sherva, both of Northwood; 23 grandchildren; seven stepgrandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by sons, Roger and Robert; a grandchild; and sisters, Gladys Toftner, Bessie Bjoralt and Pearl Gabriel.
Services: 2 p.m. today, Ebenezer Lutheran Church, Northwood.
Burial: Northwood City Cemetery (Bilden, Northwood).
Reinhart A. Lange
CARRINGTON, N.D. -- Reinhart A. Lange, 77, Carrington, died Wednesday, Nov. 25, 1998, in Carrington Long Term Care Unit.
Reinhart Albert Lange was born May 31, 1921, the son of Reinhold and Tillie (Hoffman) Lange, southwest of Carrington. He graduated from high school in Carrington in 1940. He married Evanda Stuckle on July 3, 1948, in Jamestown. They farmed west of Carrington. They moved to Carrington in 1985. He retired in 1993. He was a charter member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his wife; a son, Alan, Carrington; daughters, Carol (Bill) Schlenvogt, Cloquet, Minn., Kay (Ron) Cossette, Gillette, Wyo., and Sandra (Mike) Donahue, Spearfish, S.D.; nine grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; brothers, Herbert, Montgomery, Ala., and Gustav, Carrington; and sisters, Luella Miller and Eunice Jensen, both of Carrington, and Louise (Cliff) Carr, Las Vegas.
He was preceded in death by a granddaughter; stepmother; a brother, Hugh; a sister, Margaret Zeigler; and an infant brother.
Services: 11 a.m. Monday, Trinity Lutheran Church, Carrington.
Visitation: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and 10 a.m. to 8: 30 p.m. Sunday, with a 7: 30 p.m. prayer service, Evans Funeral Home, Carrington.

Lorraine V. Aubol
Lorraine V. Aubol, 72, 1204 Sixth Ave N., died Thursday, Nov. 26, 1998, at home.
Lorraine Virginia Penoyer was born Jan. 11, 1926, the daughter of Harry and Violet (Wilford) Penoyer, in Cottonwood, Minn. She married Archie Lyle Aubol on July 12, 1943, in Westbrook, Minn. They moved to Crookston in 1949 and to Grand Forks in 1957. Archie Aubol died Sept. 23, 1988.
She is survived by sons, David (Linda), Petersburg, N.D., and Duaine (Jean), Crookston; a daughter, Suraya (Larry) McAnnany, Alvarado, Minn.; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a great-grandson; a brother, Jim; and a sister, Bonnie Bruns.
Services: 2: 30 p.m. Monday, University Lutheran Church, Grand Forks.
Visitation: 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, with a 4: 30 p.m. prayer service, Norman Funeral Home, Columbia Road, and one hour before services in the church.

Olaf Enger
HATTON, N.D. -- Olaf Enger, 90, Hatton, died Thursday, Nov. 26, 1998, in Tri-County Nursing Home, Hatton.
Olaf Enger was born July 10, 1908, the son of Olaus and Dina (Borgen) Enger, in Enger Township, Steele County, N.D., where he attended school. He was a lifelong farmer in Enger Township. He moved to Tri-County Nursing Home in April 1996.
He is survived by several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Oliver, Carl, Melvin, Herman, Edwin and Frederick; and sisters, Ella Berg, Gustava Berg and Gertrude Christensen.
Services: 3 p.m. Monday, Tri-County Nursing Home.
Visitation: 3 to 5 p.m. in the nursing home.
Burial: Little Forks Church Cemetery, Hatton (Bilden, Hatton).
Howard E. Benson
HATTON, N.D.-- Howard E. Benson, 74, Hatton, died Wednesday, Nov. 25, 1998, at home.
Howard E. Benson was born April 1, 1924, the son of Joseph and Verna (Fuller) Benson, in Devils Lake. He attended school in Devils Lake, Roseau, Minn., and Bemidji. He joined the U.S. Army on Dec. 8, 1943. He was awarded the European African Middle Eastern Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal and the Army Occupation Ribbon. He was discharged May 7, 1946. He worked for the Great Northern Railway in Melrose, Minn., as a telegrapher. He married Loretta Schurmann on Jan. 25, 1947, in Melrose. They lived in Hoople, N.D., until July 1967, when they moved to Hatton. He retired in April 1983. They moved to Williston, N.D., in July 1987 and returned to Hatton in 1991.
He is survived by his wife; daughters, Judy Trengen, Littleton, Colo., Jayne (Donn) Lee, Grand Forks, and Joan (Reed) Kirby, Williston; a son, Jerry, Redmond, Ore.; nine grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sisters, Lois (Roy) Christensen, Spokane, Wash., Maxine (Melvin) Cleveland, Sparta, Wis., Jane Herrgard, Deer River, Minn., Deanna (Ernie) Krueger, St. Cloud, Nina (Leon) Gaines, Alexandria, Minn., Joyce (Lowell) Braaten, Shevlin, Minn., Rudella (Wayne) Suter, Chana, Ill., and Dolly Ann Benson, Mountain Iron, Minn.; brothers, Don (Mary Ann), Tenstrike, Minn., George (Carmen), Citrus Heights, Calif., and Dick, St. Cloud; and a sister-in-law, Virginia Benson, Bemidji.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Joe Jr.; and a sister, Norene Jean.

Alma Enger
Mayville, N.D. -- Alma Enger, 96, Mayville, died Friday, Nov. 27, 1998, in Luther Memorial Nursing Home, Mayville.
Alma Nelson was born Feb. 8, 1902, the daughter of Nels and Christine (Groven) Nelson, in Warwick, N.D. She moved with her parents to Hatton. She married Carl Enger on Dec. 19, 1922, in Hatton. They farmed and lived in Hatton, until moving to Mayville in 1981. Carl Enger died in 1990. She became a resident of Luther Memorial Nursing Home in 1990.
She is survived by daughters, Deloris Pladson, Hatton, and Don (Ardyce) Newman, Mayville; sons, Nello (Elaine), Mayville, and Ordell (Evelyn), Fargo; 10 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Walter (Juneth), Portland, N.D., and a sister, Ruth Anderson, Mayville.
She was preceded in death by a granddaughter; brothers, Lloyd, Ira, Norris, Lawrence and Hartvig; and sisters, Ida and Della.
Services: 1 p.m. Monday, Little Forks Lutheran Church, Hatton.
Visitation: 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday in the church.
Burial: Little Forks Cemetery (Bilden, Hatton).
Royce Hoekstra
Royce Hoekstra, 52, 55 Sloping Hills Cove, died Thursday, Nov. 26, 1998, at home.
Royce H. Hoekstra was born Sept. 14, 1946, the son of Sidney and Alice (Brouwer) Hoekstra, in Sibley, Iowa. He grew up and attended school in Bigelow, Minn., and graduated from high school in Worthington, Minn., in 1964. He joined the U.S. Navy. He graduated from North Dakota State University in 1974 with a degree in mechanical engineering. He worked as a field service engineer for General Electric Power Generations Services. He married Marian Anseth on Aug. 1, 1987, in Lakota, N.D. They lived in Grand Forks.
He is survived by his wife; his parents; and brothers, Bradley (Sheryl), Worthington, and Jay (Debra), Apple Valley, Minn.
Services: 10: 30 a.m. Monday, Faith Evangelical Free Church, Grand Forks.
Visitation: 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Amundson Funeral Home, Grand Forks, and one hour before services in the church.
Burial: Lakota (N.D.) Cemetery.
