Catherine Dukart died Thursday, March 29, 2001
Catherine Dukart, 91, Dickinson, died Thursday, March 29, 2001, at St. Joseph's Hospital & Health Center, Dickinson. The funeral mass is at 11 a.m., Monday, April 2, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Dickinson, with Fr. Norman J. Dukart as the celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Dickinson. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday, at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson, and will continue one hour prior to services at the church. There will be a rosary at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, and a rosary and vigil at 7:30 p.m., Sunday, at Ladbury Funeral Service.
Catherine Heiser was born on January 18, 1910, on the family homestead northeast of Belfield, near Snow. She was the daughter of Joseph and Marian (Benjash) Heiser. From the age of two years old, she was raised on a farm three miles south of Manning. Catherine attended school until the 7th grade, when she was asked to help with the horse drawn farm machinery. As a teenager she also helped farm wives with their cooking and housekeeping.
Catherine married John X. Dukart on November 6, 1929. Following their marriage they farmed southeast of Dickinson until 1940, and on her father's place until 1942, when they purchased a farm southwest of Manning. In 1957 they moved into Dickinson where Catherine cleaned homes until the early 1980's, and she had also been a night care giver at the original St. Benedict's Home for the Aged. Following 56 years of marriage, her husband John died in 1985.
Catherine was a lifetime member of the St. Joseph's Parish, President of the St. Anne's Altar Society for 17 years, member of Christian Mothers, Catholic Daughters and the Legion of Mary. She was also a member of the Cursillo, and the Servants of the Sacred Heart, but what was especially dear to her heart were her special church and coffee friends, affectionally known as the "Church Mice".
Catherine's great love was her children, grandchildren and receiving special visits from other family members. Her great devotions were celebrating mass and receiving communion each day and to pray the rosary. She enjoyed baking, canning, quilting, gardening, crocheting and playing cards.
Catherine is survived by six children, Mildred (Florian) Schmidt, Verndale, MN, Jerome J. (Lorraine), Moorhead, MN, Deacon Herman (Mary), Manning, Christ X. (Eileen), South Heart, Fr. Norman J., St. Patrick's, Crosby, and St. Luke's, Noonan, ND, and Paul G. (Shirley), West Fargo; 27 grandchildren; 77 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; 14 step-great-grandchildren; two step-great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Casper Heiser, Walla Walla, WA; and three sisters, Betty Stroh, Dickinson, Veronica (Ervin) Moran, Rochester, MN, and Margie Walsh, Seminola, FL. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one grandson, one granddaughter, two brothers, and three sisters.

Catherine "Kate" Lefor, 84, Dickinson, died Friday, Feb. 23, 2001 at St. Benedict's Health Center, Dickinson. The funeral mass will be at 1 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 27 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Dickinson. Interment will follow at St. Elizabeth's Cemetery, Lefor.
Visitation will be held Monday from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 8 a.m. to noon, at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson. There will be a vigil at 7 p.m., Monday, at Ladbury Funeral Service.

Christopher Lembke, 23, died Feb. 5, 2001
Christopher Lembke, 23, died Monday, Feb. 5, 2001 in a local hospital of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. Services will be held Friday, Feb. 9 at 10:30 a.m. at Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck, with the Rev. Thomas E. Kramer officiating.
Visitation, without viewing, will be held Thursday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Eastgate Funeral Service.
Christopher was born March 2, 1977.
He is survived by his mother, Silvia Anderson and her husband Jim of Mora, Minn., his father, Dennis Lembke of Fargo; his sister and brother-in-law Elissa and Martin Kasper of Little Canada, Minn.; one brother and sister-in-law, Eric and Bryndon of New Hope, Minn.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to the donor's choice.

Elizabeth Kirschenman
Elizabeth Kirschenman, age 90, of Dickinson passed away Saturday, November 23, 2002, at St. Luke’s Home. Services will be Friday, November 29, 2002, 11:00 a.m. at River of Life Assembly of God Church, in Dickinson, with Pastor Jim Hessler officiating. Interment will be in Hettinger Cemetery.
Visitation is Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Stevenson-Mischel-Olson Chapel and Friday one hour prior to service at the church.
Elizabeth was born August 15, 1912 in a rural community near Bison, S. Dakota to John and Amelia Koch. She grew up and attended school in the rural Bently and New Liepzig area.
She was united in marriage to Christ Kirschenman on November 5, 1930 at Havelock, ND near Regent. Born to this union were four daughters: Irene, Martha, Eleanor, and Bonnie and two infant sons who died at birth. Christ and Elizabeth farmed southwest of Regent throughout their married life.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and six sisters. She is survived by her four daughters, Irene (BJ) King of Amarillo, TX, Martha Dilliard of Pensacola, FL, Eleanor (Don) McLaughlin of Sioux Falls, SD, Bonnie (Jerry) Wolf of South Haven, MN, thirteen grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren, two brothers: John Koch Jr. of Bismarck, ND and Edward Koch of Rapid City, SD, and a sister Lenora Rosevear of Vallejo, CA.
She loved her life on the farm and all that went with it: gardening, canning, milking cows, raising all kinds of poultry, and feeding the farm animals. Her expertise was cooking and baking. She was praised by family, relatives, neighbors, friends and farm hands to be the best cook in the community. She kept her home and cared for her husband and children well. She was a wife and a mother of noble character.
Edward Eberts, Jr.
Mass of Christian Burial for Edward Eberts, 89, of Dickinson is Saturday, November 30, 2002, 9:00 a.m. at Queen of Peace Parish with Father David Morman, celebrating. Interment will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
Visitation is Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a rosary at 7:00p.m. followed by a vigil service at 7:30p.m. at Stevenson-Mischel-Olson Chapel. Visitation will then continue for one hour prior to service at the church on Saturday.
Edward passed away on Tuesday, November 26, 2002, at St. Benedict’s Health Center.
Edward, the son of Paul & Mechtilde (Froehlich) Eberts, was born March 20, 1913 in Dickinson, ND. He was raised in South Heart, where he also attended country school. Upon finishing his education Edward returned to the family farm. On November 21, 1939, Edward and Johanna Huschka were united in marriage. They began farming south of South Heart along with raising their family. In the fall of 1971, they moved into Dickinson and made their home since. After moving to town he stayed involved in farming and ranching by helping his sons whenever he could. During his lifetime he experienced the changes in farming, from fieldwork using a team of horses to plowing with 4-wheeled drive tractors. Edward was a perfectionist in anything he did from fencing to cleaning the barn. He took great pride in his Hereford cattle and constantly improved his herds. Edward especially loved working with the Steiger tractor. Edward was a South Heart School Board Member, St. Mary’s Church Building Committee, St. Anthony’s Club, Eagles Club and Knights of Columbus. He found enjoyment in dancing, bowling, along with playing cards, mainly pinochle, with his friends. He loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren dearly and was very proud of all of them.
Edward will be greatly missed by his wife of 63 years, Johanna, Dickinson, their children, Kenneth (Norma) Eberts, Medora, Allan (Jennifer) Eberts, South Heart, Dennis (Jeanette) Eberts, South Heart, Verlene (Ben) Sticka, Dickinson, Elaine (Stephen) Weeks of New Port Richey, FL; 15 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; one brother, Frank (Catherine) Eberts, South Hearts; one sister-in-law, Leontine Eberts, Dickinson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul & Mechtilde Eberts, three brothers, Pete, Emil, Anton and one sister, Barbara Wolf Olheiser.
George A. Koffler
Mass of Christian Burial for George A. Koffler, 88, of Dickinson is Monday, December 2, 2002, 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Father Dennis Schafer, celebrating. Interment will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
Visitation is Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a rosary at 8:00p.m. followed by a vigil service at Stevenson-Mischel-Olson Chapel with Deacon Ralph Stockert. Visitation will then continue on Monday with a rosary being led by George Keller at 9:00 am
George passed away on Saturday, November 30, 2002, at St. Joseph’s Hospital.
George the son of Joseph and Anna Dietz Koffler was born on December 12, 1913 in Scranton, ND. He moved with his parents at the age of 3 to South of Dickinson were he attended country schools. He continued to work at the farm until he was married to Anna Frenzel on June 12, 1934. George worked at the Dickinson Meat Cannery while farming Southwest of Dickinson. Together George and Anna purchased a farm Southeast of Dickinson were they farmed for over twenty years. They moved into Dickinson where George worked for Stark County, Decker Implement, General Investment and later as a maintenance man for SAX Motors. George retired in 1995.
He enjoyed going back out to the farm to help his son who still operates his farm yet today. He also enjoyed attending cattle sales and going for rides to see the countryside. George always listened to old time music whenever possible. He especially loved and enjoyed his grand and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include, son, Arnonld (Marge), Dickinson; a son-in-law, Chris Meier, Glen Ullin brother, Matt (Ruth) Koffler, Mandan; two sisters, Rose Frenzel, Dickinson and Mary Plummer, Phoenix, AZ; grandchildren: Monte, Marty and Glen Koffler, Wallace and Joan Berger and Galen Meier; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Jeannette Meier, three sisters, Tillie Whitehead, Annie Branham and Barbara Obrigewitch
