Elizabeth Boser
RUGBY, N.D. -- Elizabeth Boser, 77, Rugby, died Sunday, May 11, 1997, in Heart of America Medical Center, Rugby.
Elizabeth Zacher was born Aug. 30, 1919, the daughter of Martin and Mary Eva Zacher, in Balta, N.D. She was raised in Pierce County, N.D., and went to school in Rosedale Township, Pierce County. She worked as a housekeeper at area farms. She married Anton ``Tony" Boser Feb. 3, 1942, in Balta. They worked on farms in Pierce County. They also operated a general store. Anton ``Tony" Boser died Aug. 13, 1985. In 1991, she moved to Rugby.
She is survived by sons, Vernon and David (Lynn), both of Red Wing, Minn., Arlen (Jillane) and Martin, both of Minot, Marvin (Debra), West Fargo, N.D., Ernest (JoAnn), Karlsruhe, N.D. and Todd (Roberta), Harwood, N.D.; daughters, Twylah (Raymond) Volk, Plymouth, Minn., Bernetta (Ralph) Vinje, Hazelton, N.D.; 23 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brothers, Daniel, Tahuya, Wash., Ernest, Grand Forks, and George, Seattle; and sisters, Margaret Keller, Balta, Bertha Olson, Puyallup, Wash., Rose Keller, Tacoma, Wash., and Agnes Gumeringer, Mesa, Ariz.
She was preceded in death by daughters, Adeline and Angeline.
Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Saint Boniface Catholic Church, Esmond, N.D.
Visitation: 2 to 9 p.m. today, with a 7:30 p.m. prayer service, in Niewoehner Funeral Home, Rugby.
Burial: Saint Boniface Catholic Church, Rugby.

George Deibert
BEMIDJI -- George Deibert, 73, Bemidji, died Tuesday, May 6, 1997, in North County Regional Hospital, Bemidji.
George Milton Deibert was born Nov. 5, 1923, the son of Baier and Emma Deibert, in Chicago. He moved with his family to Elgin, Ill., where he graduated from high school in 1942. He joined the U.S. Army Air Corps in January 1943. He was discharged in December 1945, and returned to active duty in 1951 to serve in the Korean War. He was awarded several medals, including a Bronze Star. He worked for Illinois Tool Works in Elgin until 1958. He moved to Blackduck, Minn. and worked as village police officer until 1964. He married Adeline (Lucken) Grace May 11, 1962, in Blackduck. Two years later, he went to work for Beltrami County (Minn.) as a deputy sheriff. He retired in January 1987. He remained active after retirement, serving as a baliff for Beltrami County until December.
He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Janice (Mark) Palmer, Yukon, Okla.; a stepson, Dennis (Pat) Grace, Blackduck; a stepdaughter, Karen Grace, Bemidji; five grandchildren; and a brother, Robert, Buncombe, Ill.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Jean.
Services: 2 p.m. today in Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home, Bemidji.
Burial: Lakeview Cemetery, Blackduck.
Selmer `Louie' Lofstrom
STRANDQUIST, Minn. -- Selmer ``Louie" Lofstrom, 84, Strandquist, died Tuesday, May 6, 1997, at home.
Selmer Lofstrom was born April 4, 1913, the son of Albert and Hilma (Larson) Lofstrom, in Lincoln Township, Marshall County, Minn. He attended school in Strandquist. He worked for several farmers in the Strandquist area and in a Civil Conservation Corps camp. He joined the U.S. Army May 1, 1942. After he left the military, he returned to the Strandquist area and farmed. He married Euince Johnson Dec. 16, 1950, in Strandquist. He worked construction in Minnesota and North Dakota until he retired in 1977. After his retirement, he worked part-time for the Green Thumb program in Strandquist, supervising community projects with local children.
He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Dorothy Grandstrand, Grand Forks; sons, John and Lenny (DeAnn), both of Strandquist; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Adele Daffron, Bellevue, Wash., Roseline Campbell, Seattle and Fern Wilson, Portland, Ore.; and a brother, Ernest, Karlstad, Minn.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Kasprowicz; and a brother, Elmer ``Buddy".
Services: 2 p.m. Saturday in Bethesda Lutheran Church, Strandquist.
Visitation: Noon to 8 p.m. today, with a 7 p.m. prayer service, in Green Funeral Home, Thief River Falls, and one hour before services in the church.
Burial: Mamrelund Cemetery, Lincoln Township.
Cora Grendahl
THIEF RIVER FALLS -- Cora Grendahl, 85, Thief River Falls, died Wednesday, May 7, 1997, in Broen Memorial Home, Fergus Falls, Minn., where she had lived since April 1991.
Cora Horton was born Dec. 23, 1911, the daughter of Charles and Mary (Grafve) Horton, in Voltaire, N.D. She graduated from junior high in 1928 and from the State Agricultural High School in Velva, N.D, in 1930. She moved to Thief River Falls and studied nursing at the Physician's Hospital and began working for the Lynde-Starkow Clinic. She married Andrew Grendahl Sept. 5, 1937, in Holt, Minn. They made their home in Thief River Falls. In 1972, she received her licensed practical nursing degree. She worked for Mercy and Northwestern hospitals in Thief River Falls until she retired in 1978. Andrew Grendahl died May 29, 1971. She continued to live in Thief River Falls until moving to Fergus Falls.
She is survived by a daughter, Carol (Conley) Nygaard, Fergus Falls; a son, James (Wanda), Spokane, Wash.; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mae Lindlauf, Seattle.
She was preceded in death by brothers, Orville and Clifford; and sisters, Fern Horton, Mabel Aaseth, Selma Tunheim and Alice Nelson.
Services: 2 p.m. Monday in Green Funeral Home, Thief River Falls.
Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday and 8 a.m. until the time of services Monday, all in the funeral home.
Burial: Greenwood Cemetery, Thief River Falls.
