Elynne Greenwood
Elynne Greenwood, 71, Grand Forks, died Friday, May 9, 1997, in Park River, N.D.
Elynne Arline Olson was born April 19, 1926, the daughter of Andrew and Margaret (Carlson) Olson, in Grafton, N.D., where she attended school. She married Donald Greenwood Jan. 26, 1947, in Mouchs Corner, S.C. She moved into Valley Memorial Homes-Almonte Living Center, and has resided in Valley Eldercare Center since 1981.
She is survived by a son, Larry, Grand Forks; daughters, Donna ``Sandy" (David) Quance, Northridge, Calif., and Candice Greenwood, Grand Forks; and five grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by a son, Terry, and three brothers.
Services: 2 p.m. Tuesday in Amundson Funeral Home, Grand Forks.
Visitation: One hour before services in the funeral home.
Burial: Memorial Park Cemetery, Grand Forks.
Robert Grina
Robert Grina, 48, Mesa, Ariz., formerly of Grand Forks, died Tuesday, May 6, 1997.
Robert D. Grina was born in Grand Forks. He joined the U.S. Army and served during the Vietnam War. He graduated from UND in 1975. He was a sales manager for Borders Books & Music, Mesa.
He is survived by daughters, Katherine Grina and Kirsten Grina, both of Mesa; a son, Carl, Mesa; his mother, Ruth Buwolda, Phoenix; and sisters, Carolyn Hunter, Fargo, Mary Ingstad, Edwards, Colo., and Ruth Anderson, Grand Forks.
Services: Will be held Monday in Tempe, Ariz. (Tempe Mortuary).
Wallace Lundin
LAKOTA, N.D. -- Wallace Lundin, 73, Lakota, died Friday, May 9, 1997, in Lakota Good Samaritan Center.
Wallace Lundin was born Jan. 2, 1924, the son of John and Emma (Palm) Lundin, in Esther Township, Polk County, Minn., where he attended school. He joined the U.S. Army during World War II. He worked for Gowan Construction, Oslo, Minn. He attended shoe repair school in Thief River Falls. He moved to Lakota in June 1965, and worked for Loften Shoe Repair until retiring.
He is survived by brothers, Vernon, East Grand Forks, Jerome, Billings, Mont., and Curtis, Glendale, Calif.; and sisters, Arline Cummings, East Grand Forks, and Myrtle Rodal, Oslo.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Bennie, Julius, Albert, Elmer and Garfield; and sisters, Esther Hodge, Blenda Lease and Irene Lundeen.
Services: 1 p.m. Monday in Lakota Lutheran Church.
Visitation: 1 to 9 p.m. today in Aaker Funeral Home, Lakota, and one hour before services in the church.
Burial: Nyskoga Cemetery, Alvarado, Minn.
Lillian Whiting
BEMIDJI -- Lillian Whiting, 84, Bemidji, died Friday, May 9, 1997, at home.
Lillian Hazel Stapleton was born May 28, 1912, the daughter of Patrick and Mary (Lynch) Stapleton in Wild Horse, Colo. They lived in Colorado and Turtin, N.D. In the 1920s, they moved to Bemidji, where she attended school, and later worked as a dental assistant. She married Herbert Whiting July 24, 1936 in Bemidji. They moved to Hallock, Minn., then returned to Bemidji three years later.
She is survived by her husband; sons, Jack (Joan), Hoyt Lakes, Minn., Tom, San Francisco, and Timothy (Debbie) and Patrick (Jaclyn), both of Bemidji; daughters, Rita (Dale) Lauderbaugh and Nancy (Paul) Lauderbaugh, both of Bemidji; 22 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Mary Richmond and Marcella Stapleton, both of San Francisco, and Rita Noaeill, Clearbrook, Minn.
She was preceded in death by a son, Billy; brothers, Roy, Delmer ``Red", Charles ``Leo" and Patrick; and sisters, Dorothy Moran, Loretta Rude and Gertrude Stapleton.
Services: 10:30 Tuesday in St. Philip's Catholic Church, Bemidji.
Visitation: 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, with a 7 p.m. prayer service, in Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home, Bemidji.
Burial: Holy Cross Cemetery, Bemidji.
LaVerne Feist
LaVerne Feist, 77, formerly of Grand Forks, died Thursday, May 8, 1997, in Frazee Care Center, Frazee, Minn.
LaVerne Cecelia Deitz was born April 8, 1920, the daughter of Joseph and Anna (Schneider) Deitz, in Grand Forks, where she attended school. She married George Feist Feb. 16, 1942, in Grand Forks. She worked as a seamstress for Seeger's Furs. George Feist died July 27, 1991.
She is survived by a brother, LeRoy, Frazee; and a sister, Veronica Hughes, Hull, Ga.
Services: 1 p.m. Monday in Norman Funeral Home, Columbia Road, Grand Forks.
Visitation: Two hours before services in the funeral home.
Burial: Calvary Cemetery, Grand Forks.
