Bernard 'Bernie' Klug
Bernard “Bernie” Klug, 79, Bismarck, formerly of Dickinson, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on July 21, 2010 at the Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center.
Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 24 at Church of St. Anne, Bismarck. Burial will be in the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan, on Monday, July 26 at 10 a.m.
Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Friday at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck, where a vigil/rosary will begin at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.

Funeral Mass for Felix Haich, 89 of Gladstone will be 9 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 3, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Dickinson. Interment will follow at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan.
Visitation will be Monday, Aug. 2 from noon to 9 p.m. with a rosary and vigil service at 7 p.m. at Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson.
Felix passed away Friday, July 30, 2010 at his daughter’s home in Dickinson.

James T. Carroll
Funeral service for James T. Carroll, 78, of Ekalaka, Mont. will be at 10 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 2, in the Chapel of Stevenson Funeral Home in Ekalaka with Tom Stieg officiating. Interment will follow in the Beaver Lodge Cemetery at Ekalaka with full military rites by the Ekalaka VFW Post 7885, Ekalaka American Legion Post 60 and the Montana National Guard Honor Guard. Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 1, with the family receiving friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Stevenson Funeral Home.
James passed away unexpectedly on Monday, July 26, 2010 at Dahl Memorial Healthcare in Ekalaka, Mont.
A memorial has been established by the Carroll family in James T’s honor.

Otto Lennick, 81, of Dickinson, died on July 29, 2010 at his home.

John M. Filibeck
Funeral Mass for John M. Filibeck, 55, of Glen Ullin, will be 10:30 a.m. CDT, Monday, Aug. 2, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Glen Ullin with Father Arul Joseph celebrating. Interment will follow at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery in Mandan.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. CDT, Sunday, Aug. 1, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with a Rosary and Vigil Service at 7 p.m. CDT.
John passed away Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at his home on the family farm in rural Glen Ullin.
John M. Filibeck was born Sept. 2, 1954 to John J. Jr. and Agnes (Gietzen) Filibeck in Richardton.
He grew up in Glen Ullin attending Sacred Heart Grade School and later graduating from Glen Ullin High School in 1972.
After high school, John entered the U.S. Army where he was stationed at Fort Richardson and Fort Greely in Alaska. While there, he served on the Arctic Military Mountaineering Team. He also pursued a degree in geology from the University of Alaska Anchorage. He later transferred back to North Dakota due to his mother’s failing health and finished his military service in Nekoma.
He met Janet Franklund while the two were working construction in Bismarck. They later married on Aug. 27, 1983 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Bismarck. After marriage the couple moved back to Glen Ullin where they worked for the Henry J. Kaiser Company during the construction of the Dakota Gasification Plant. John later took a job at the Bureau of Reclamation at Heart Butte Dam where he was employed for the past 24 years.
John was a member of the Glen Ullin Knights of Columbus and the Boy Scouts of America, where he served as the leader for Troop 41. He was also a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
John enjoyed hunting and shooting. His greatest love was fishing. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends while out on the boat or at the cabin.
John is survived by his wife, Janet, Glen Ullin; daughter, Joni Marie, Glen Ullin; son, John Victor, Glen Ullin and sisters, Janice Filibeck, Glen Ullin, Joyce (Jim) Ulmer, Bismarck, Jane (Dennis) Schiele, Bismarck, Mary Ann Filibeck, Lincoln and Donna (Ron) Emter, Bismarck.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

Jennifer Homstad-Barrera
Jennifer Kay Homstad-Barrera, 37, Colorado Springs, Colo., formerly of Bismarck, entered eternal life Sept. 5, 2010 at the Memorial Hospital, Colorado Springs.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held Friday, Sept. 17, at noon CDT, at The Church of Saint Anne, Bismarck.
Jennifer is survived by her husband, Antonio Barrera Sr., Colorado Springs; two daughters, Brittney and Natasha Johnson, Fargo; parents, Douglas and Lillian Homstad, Bismarck; sister, Candace (Sean) Decker, Bellbrook, Ohio; grandparents, Clarence Homstad, Fairview, Mont., and Val and Angie Stockert, and great-grandma, Agnes Stockert, Dickinson.
She was preceded in death by grandma Edna Homstad and uncle Gary Stockert.
Ludwig Filipi
Ludwig Filipi, 87, Dickinson, died Sunday, Sept. 12, 2010 at the St. Luke’s Home, Dickinson.
Ludwig’s Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 15, at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Dickinson, with Fr. Jim Braaten as the celebrant. Interment will take place at St. Wenceslaus Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. today with a rosary and vigil at 7 p.m. at Ladbury Funeral Service with Deacon Ray Jilek presiding.
Ludwig Filipi was born July 25, 1923, at Dickinson to Frank and Mary (Tuhy) Filipi. After graduating from St. Pius School, Ludwig joined the US Navy and honorably served from February 1941 until October 1945. After being discharged from the Navy, Ludwig returned to Dickinson and began farming north of Dickinson. Ludwig married Tillie Jilek on Nov. 19, 1947, at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Dickinson.
After retiring from farming in 1983, Ludwig began doing woodworking and carpentry, he also enjoyed reading. But most of all he liked the time spent with his family.
Ludwig is survived by his wife, Tillie; six children, Jeanette Renken, Yankton, S.D., Richard Filipi, Dickinson, Joan (Larry) Longshore, Galena, Ohio, Gaylene Montez, Sedona, Ariz., Geralyn (Curtis) Kauffman. Colorado Springs, Colo., and Pam (Dan) Peterson, West Fargo; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two brothers, August and Stephen (Rose); one sister, Margaret (John) Eckert; and one brother-in-law Charlie Steffan.
Ludwig was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Laudie, two sisters, Mildred and Hattie, and two grandsons, Michael Davis and Anthony Luptak.

A graveside service for Daniel Eric Schmitt, 26, of Miles City, Mont. will be at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 16 at the Black Hills National Cemetery at Sturgis, S.D.
Daniel passed away on Monday, Sept. 6, 2010 at Rapid City Regional Hospital in Rapid City, S.D.
