Thonetta `Toni' Brenna
HATTON, N.D. -- Thonetta ``Toni" Brenna, 92, Hatton, died Wednesday, May 7, 1997, in Tri-County Nursing Home, Hatton.
Thonetta Huus was born Aug. 10, 1904, the daughter of Aners and Marit Huus, in Hatton. She married Alvin Brenna Nov. 6, 1937, in St. John Parsonage, Hatton. They farmed near Hatton until moving into Hatton in 1982.
She is survived by her husband; a son, David (Judy), Hawley, Minn.; a daughter, Mary Ann (Ardell) Omlid, Thompson, N.D.; four grandsons; a great-granddaughter; and a sister, Cyda Brenna, Hatton.
She was preceded in death by five brothers and five sisters.
Services: 10 a.m. today in St. John Lutheran Church, Hatton.
Burial: St. John Cemetery, Hatton (Bilden, Hatton).
Glen Nelson
DEVILS LAKE -- Glen Nelson, 73, died Tuesday, May 6, 1997, at Heartland Care Center, Devils Lake, where he had lived since 1993.
Glen H. Nelson was born Oct. 15, 1923, the son of Edward and Lillian (Conners) Nelson, in Devils Lake. He grew up on the family farm in St. Michael, N.D., where he attended school. He married Florence Hagen Jan. 2, 1950, in Michigan City, Ind. He hauled gravel for Lake Region Sand and Gravel. He later invented a grain elevator vacuum system called ``The Nelson Cleaner." which was installed in hundreds of elevators in the Dakotas and Minnesota. He also worked for Northwest Salvage, where he was in charge of fire salvage operations for damaged grain. In 1969, he started his own business, Devils Lake Truck Equipment, which he operated in Lakewood, rural Devils Lake until retiring in 1992.
He is survived by his wife; sons, Michael (Mary) Hagen, Apple Valley, Minn.; Danny (Pam), Devils Lake; a daughter, Lori Stevenson, Devils Lake; three grandchildren; a sister, Evelyn Schela, Devils Lake; and a brother, Clinton (Angel) Nelson, Casper, Wyo.
Services: Were held Friday in Devils Lake.
Burial: Devils Lake Cemetery (Gilbertson, Devils Lake).
Odin Christianson
DEVILS LAKE -- Odin Christianson, 86, Hampden, N.D., died Tuesday, May 6, 1997, in Heartland Care Center, Devils Lake, where he had lived since 1995.
Odin J. Christianson was born Jan. 16, 1911, the son of Ole and Marie Christianson, in rural Hampden, where he attended school. He drove school bus in Nekoma, N.D., for many years before moving to Hampden in 1945. He married Margaret Thorson May 8, 1945, in Devils Lake. He worked for Lunde Implement, Hampden, for 43 years. He moved into the Trinity Nursing Home, Minot, in 1994.
Services: 2 p.m. today at Zoar Free Lutheran Church, Hampden.
Burial: Storlie Cemetery, Hampden (Gilbertson, Devils Lake).
John Boe, 70, East Grand Forks, died Saturday in Richfield, Minn. (Stennes, East Grand Forks).

Lorenzo `Larry' Martin
CROOKSTON -- Lorenzo ``Larry" Martin, 85, Crookston, died Thursday, May 8, 1997, at home.
Lorenzo L. Martin was born June 25, 1911, the son of Eugene and Marguerite (Cota) Martin, in Omemee, N.D. He attended school in Overly, N.D., and graduated from Douglas (N.D.) High School in 1929. He attended Minot State Teachers College, and the School of Forestry in Bottineau, N.D. He worked as a professional boxer, a carpenter, and a drummer and vocalist in a dance band, in Bottineau County, N.D. He married Marian Lizotte July 2, 1938, in Willow City, N.D. He managed elevators in Donnelly, Minn., and Hettinger, N.D., before moving to Crookston in 1956. He became field representative and regional manager for Grain Terminal Association, where he worked until retiring in 1976. Over the years, he coached and managed amateur baseball teams and trained Golden Gloves boxers.
He is survived by his wife; daughters, Sharon (James) Schlosser, Bismarck, Constance (Daniel) Gulseth, Rolette, N.D., and Kathryn (Richard) Larson, Folsom, Calif.; 12 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by an infant grandson, an infant great-granddaughter; a brother, Eugene; three infant brothers; and an infant sister.
Services: 2 p.m. Monday in Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, Crookston.
Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m. today, with a 6:30 p.m. rosary and 7 p.m. prayer service, in Stenshoel-Houske Funeral Chapel, Crookston, and one hour before services in the church.
Burial: Calvary Cemetery, Crookston.
Carl Redmann
CRYSTAL, N.D. -- Carl Redmann, 82, Crystal, died Thursday, May 8, 1997, at home.
Carl O. Redmann was born May 30, 1914, the son of August and Dora (Doebler) Redmann, in Crystal. He attended school in Crystal and Park River, N.D. He married Jean Born Nov. 1, 1939, in Crystal. They lived and farmed in Crystal until retiring in 1990. He also worked at the Nekoma (N.D.) Missile Site for a few years.
He is survived by his wife.
He was preceded in death by brothers, William, Arthur, Albert, Henry and Edward; and sisters, Rosie and Emma.
Services: 2 p.m. Monday in St. John's Lutheran Church, Crystal.
Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. today in Tollefson Funeral Home, Grafton, N.D., and one hour before services in the church.
Burial: St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Crystal.
