Lena Wanner
Funeral services for Lena Wanner, 88, of Dickinson, will be 2 p.m., Friday, July 23, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Dickinson with Father Todd Kreitinger celebrating.
Burial will follow at St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery in Dickinson.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., Thursday, July 22, at Stevenson Funeral Home in Dickinson, continuing from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Dickinson with a rosary and vigil service at 7 p.m.
Visitation will continue on Friday, July 23, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Stevenson Funeral Home in Dickinson.
Lena passed away Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at St. Benedict’s Health Center in Dickinson.
Lena Wanner was born Aug. 11, 1921, to Andrew and Josephine (Reiter) Dietz at Sheffield.
She grew up on a farm south of Belfield and attended school there.
After graduating from Belfield High School, she received her teaching certificate from Dickinson State Teachers College.
She taught at various schools throughout the region, including Regent, Lefor, Lincoln, Iota Country School, and St. Joseph’s and St. Patrick’s in Dickinson.
Lena married Joseph N. Wanner on Sept. 12, 1944.
The couple made their home on the family farm north of Gladstone.
It was here where they raised their family of five children.
Lena retired from teaching to help more on the family farm/ranch.
She moved to Dickinson in 1992.
She enjoyed gardening, reading, playing cards and visiting with family and friends.
Lena raised chickens and produce for sale at home.
She lived at the Pioneer Haven, Evergreen and St. Benedict’s Health Center in Dickinson.
Lena is survived by four children, JoLynn Murray, Rifle, Colo., Marilyn (Joe) Boyd, Davie, Fla., Rodney (Yvetta) Wanner, Rifle, Colo., and Rick (Patti, fiancee) Wanner, Dickinson; nine grandchildren, Richard (Sara) Murray and daughters Kaelyn and Allison, Rifle, Colo.; Diana and Craig Murray Vardaman of Rifle, Colo.; Joey and Mary Beth Boyd, daughters Katie and Emma, Raleigh, N.C.; Christie (Jim) Boyd Hughes, children, J.P. and Emily Plantation, Fla.; Danille Boyd, children, Kylie and Samantha of Davie, Fla.; Joey and Jennifer Wanner, children Madison and Maddox, New Castle, Colo.; Jessie Wanner, Glenwood Springs, Colo.; Jerri Lynn (Dan) Wanner Openshaw, children, Aylisa and Alia, Spring Cree, Nev.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph N.; an infant daughter, Jacqulyn; and six brothers, Andrew, Ben, Adam, Tony, George and John.

Mary E. 'Babe' Billingsley
A celebration of life for Mary E. “Babe” Billingsley, 95, of Willard, Mont., will be 10 a.m., Friday, July 23, 2010 at Stevenson Funeral Home in Baker, Mont., with Bruce Ketchum, Babe’s grand-nephew, officiating.
Interment will be at 2:30 p.m. in the Lame Jones Cemetery west of Willard, Mont.
Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., Thursday, July 22, at Stevenson Funeral Home in Baker with a prayer service at 7 p.m.
Babe left this world to start her new life with her Savior Jesus Christ on July 19, at the Fallon Medical Complex in Baker.

Jesse I. Bojorquez
Jesse I. Bojorquez, 54, Dickinson, died Friday, July 16, 2010 at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Health Center, Dickinson.
Jesse’s funeral service with cremation to follow will be at 6 p.m., Thursday, July 22 at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson.
Visitation will be Thursday from 8 a.m. to service time at Ladbury Funeral Service.

Bernard 'Bernie' Klug
Bernard “Bernie” Klug, 79, Bismarck, formerly of Dickinson, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on July 21, 2010 at the Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center.
Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 24 at Church of St. Anne, Bismarck, with the Rev. Tom Richter and Rev. Jerome Kautzman officiating.
Burial will be in the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan, on Monday, July 26, at 10 a.m.
Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Friday at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck, where a vigil/rosary will begin at 7 p.m.
Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.
Bernie was born Sept. 3, 1930, to Adam and Margaret (Weisgerber) Klug in Dickinson.
There was always debate on what was his actual birth date — up until he applied for a passport at age 50, he always thought his birthday was on Sept. 2.
Bernie grew up in Dickinson and attended St. Joseph’s Grade School and Dickinson High School.
He attended Dickinson State College and was a member of the champion football team of 1955.
He worked for Cloverdale Creamery in Dickinson.
He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1950 and served at Goose Bay, Labrador and Rapid City Ellsworth Airbase.
He was honorably discharged in 1955.
Bernie married Elizabeth “Betty” Schwartzbauer on Feb. 9, 1956, at St. Joseph’s Church in Dickinson, North Dakota.
He started working for Burlington Northern in 1960, and after 33 years, retired in 1992.
They moved to the Primrose Retirement Community, Bismarck in 2004.
Bernie was actively involved in Boy Scouts for 44 years.
He received his Eagle Scout award in 1947 along with Ad Altare Dei.
One of his proudest moments was when his son, Daniel, also received the Eagle Scout award, followed by his grandson, Joseph, in 2009. Scouting was a very important part of his life.
He was a life-member of the Knights of Columbus and the VFW.
Blessed to have shared his life are his wife of 54 years, Betty; his daughter, Patty (David) Flohr, Bismarck; and his son, Daniel (Debra Voboril), Stuttgart, Germany; four grandchildren, Hannah Flohr, Bismarck, Joseph Voboril, Newport News, Va., and Kristen and Rachel Voboril, Stuttgart, Germany; he is survived by two brothers, David and Paul Klug, Idaho; and one sister, Selma (Tom) Heck, Scott City, Kan.; sisters-in-law, Frances Brentrup, Peoria, Ariz., Margaret Miller, Dickinson, and Frances Schwartzbauer, Bismarck, Irene Schwartzbauer, Payson, Arizona, and Gloria Klug, Dickinson; and many nieces and nephews that held a special place in his heart.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Adam, Jr. and George; and one brother and sister in infancy.

Cody Jacobs
Cody Jacobs, son of Clarence Jacobs and Marjean Schwehr, passed away at the age of 34 on July 22, 2010, at Medcenter One in Bismarck after being involved in a motorcycle accident on the evening of July 21.
He is survived by his wife Kimberly Jacobs and his three children Eric, 5, Brian, 4, and Violet, 9 months.
He is the second-eldest of seven children Desiree Slatkin, Jake Jacobs, Harley Jacobs, Rosann Jacobs-Fode, Sally Jacobs, and Chris Jacobs and is preceded in death by his grandmothers Gwen Schwehr and Eleanor Jacobs and his grandfather Ed Schwehr.
Cody was born in Gillette, Wyo., on Sept. 25, 1975 and attended school in McIntosh, S.D., where he was an accomplished wrestler.
He graduated from Bismarck High School and enlisted in the Marine Corps before attending college at North Dakota State University where he met and married his wife, Kimberly.
He completed his degree in geology at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and moved back to the Bismarck area where he worked as a well-site geologist eventually commuting between Alaska and Bismarck.
He was devoted to his family and friends and lived every moment as if it were his last.
He sought adventure and loved hunting, fishing and being outdoors when he wasn’t working on his Jeep or riding.
His children idolize him, and he loved every moment he had with them.
Strength radiated from Cody throughout his life, and he made all those around him feel safe and protected.
His smile and laughter will forever be in their hearts.
He was taken from this world too soon.
A viewing and memory service will be held from 5 to 8 on Sunday the 25th at the Bismarck Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7.
Services will be held at 10:30 on Monday the 26th at St. Mary’s Church with the burial and flag service to follow at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery in Mandan.
Lunch will be served at the church after the burial.
