Roger V. Anderson
A funeral service for Roger V. Anderson, 80, of Dickinson will be 10:30 a.m., Monday, August 15, 2016 at St. John Lutheran Church, Dickinson with Pastor Lisa Lewton officiating. Burial will take place at Rose Hill Cemetery in Reeder, ND.
Visitation for Roger will be from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Sunday, August 14 at Stevenson Funeral Home with a prayer service being held at 4:00 p.m.
Roger passed away Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at CHI St. Alexius Health, Bismarck.
Roger Van Alen Anderson was born on January 26, 1936 in Reeder, ND to Viggo and Alma (Askland) Anderson. Roger grew up on the family farm in the Reeder, ND area, where he attended elementary and secondary school at Reeder High School. Roger went to college at North Dakota Agricultural College in Fargo ND, where he majored in Agricultural Economics with a minor in Chemistry. Roger and Marjorie Schwartz were married at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Reeder, ND on September 29, 1956. After their wedding, Roger and Marjorie moved to the family farm three miles east of Reeder. For most of his life Roger worked in road and bridge construction, both owning his own company and working for others in North Dakota and Colorado. After retiring in 2000, Roger ultimately came back to North Dakota, settling in Dickinson.
Roger took great joy in antiques, tools, trains, tractors, North Dakota and World War II history. He loved scouring remote shops, museums, and garage sales in search of hidden treasures. Roger was involved in numerous community activities including the Elks, Jesters and the El Zagal Shrine, where he was Potentate. He was also a member of the St. John Lutheran Church in Dickinson, ND.
Roger is survived by: His children, Marcie (Koger) Propst of Denver, CO; Bradley Anderson of Parker, CO; daughter-in-law Robbie Anderson of Parker, CO. Roger was blessed with eight grandchildren: Luke (Karly) Propst, Matt (Emily) Propst, Konnor and Zach Propst, Nathan, Jamie and Jessica (Jamie) Bump, and Kali Kisch. He also is survived by four great grand-daughters: Aspen and Cassidy Anderson, Ruby Propst and Eloise Propst.
Marjorie, his son, Curtis and his parents, Viggo and Alma Anderson preceded him in death.
Bertha Lisko
A funeral Mass for Bertha Lisko, 94, Dickinson, will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 27, 2016 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Dickinson with Father Thomas Grafsgaard celebrating. Burial will take place in the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan, on Monday, August 29.
Visitation for Bertha will be from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, August 26, 2016 at Stevenson Funeral Home with a rosary and vigil service being held at 7:00 p.m.
Bertha passed away Sunday, August 7, 2016 at Hill Top Home of Comfort, Killdeer.
Bertha was born September 9, 1921 in Gladstone, the daughter of Joseph and Anna (Toth) Sigl. Her Grandma Stein was the midwife at the time of her birth. Growing up she attended country school in the Hirschville area through the eighth grade. She then attended the NYA School for girls in Dickinson. While in school, Bertha met Adolph Lisko and they later married on June 9, 1941 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Dickinson. This union was blessed with five children, Bonnie, Jim, Sandi, Bob and Kathy. Dickinson was their home and was where their children were raised. Bertha ran a daycare for several teachers in the community and this was a service she truly enjoyed. Bertha shared her goodness in the community, being a member of St. Joseph’s and St. Wenceslaus Catholic churches and being a member of the VFW Auxiliary. She loved to decorate for the holidays and enjoyed the many friends and family who stopped in to celebrate these special days with her and Adolph. Christmas and then the 4th of July with music and dancing on their patio were always favorite occasions. She especially enjoyed time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Bertha and Adolph were blessed to celebrate 63 years of marriage together.
Bertha is survived by her children, Bonnie Kisch of Bismarck, Sandi (Harvey) Tibor of Hebron, Bob (Joan) Lisko of Colorado Springs, CO, and Kathy (Kirk) Jorgenson of Dickinson; 12 grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren; brother, Edward (Karen) Sigl of Jacksonville, FL.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Adolph; son, Jim and his wife, Carolyn; son-in-law, Joseph Kisch; sisters, Lena Klungtvedt and Ann Hartwig; brothers, Frank, Mike, Pete, Norbert; and three grandchildren.
Wilbur Klatt
Wilbur Leroy Klatt passed away on Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at First Care Living Center in Fosston, MN at the age of 83. He was born October 14, 1932 in Killdeer, ND to John and Pernellie Klatt. He grew up on the family farm north of Killdeer and attended country school.
Wilbur entered the Army in 1953 and was honorably discharged in 1955. He was an active member of the American Legion in both Killdeer, ND and Erskine, MN.
After the service, he went to work for Moss Trucking in Tioga, ND hauling salt water to the oil rigs. Later he went to work for Northern Tank as a truck driver and as a dispatcher. He retired in 1995 and continued to reside in Erskine, MN. He was active in the community and a member of Grace Lutheran Church. He spent much of his retirement years helping his neighbor with mowing and haying. Wilbur was well liked in his community and will be missed.
He enjoyed fishing and hunting in his early years and was an avid fan of the Erskine girl’s high school Volleyball and basketball teams, never missing a game whether it was at home or away. Wilbur was also a horse lover and kept horses on his place in Erskine before he moved into town.
Pastor Tim Lundeen from Erskine, Mn will officiate the graveside service which will be held at the Killdeer Cemetery with full military honors on August 20, 2016 at 10:30.
Wilbur is survived by 3 brothers, Herman, David (Charlotte) and Richard; 5 sisters, Margaret Hanson, Dorothy Tillis, Shirley (Duane) Hawkinson, Doris Lushbough and Linda (Phil) Reinbold; and numerous nieces and nephews He was preceded in death by his parents John and Pernellie Klatt, 2 brothers Clarence and Leslie , one sister Janice and sister-in-law LaDonna.

A reception and lunch will be follow at the American Legion.
The family would like to thank Pastor Tim Lundeen and Randy Lee for their loving care and friendship to our brother Wilbur. Also thanks to Diane and Mike Hoeft and the many others at the local café where Wilbur spent a lot of his time. He told us many times that he had some really good friends in Erskine and enjoyed living there. The family is grateful to all of you who helped make his life happy.
George Fredericks
A Liturgy of the Word Service for George Fredericks, 50, Mandan, ND will be 11:00 a.m., CDT, Monday, August 15, 2016 at Twin Buttes Community Center, Twin Buttes, ND with Father Darnis Selvanayakam celebrating. Burial will be at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery, Twin Buttes.
A Rosary will be held on Sunday, August 14, 2016 at 5:00 p.m., CDT, at Twin Buttes Community Center.
George passed away Thursday, August 11, 2016 at CHI St. Alexius Health, Bismarck, ND.
George Fredericks, GoShe “Pinto Horse”, was born May 11, 1966 to Keith and Betty (Curley) Fredericks in Dickinson. Growing up he attended school in Twin Buttes and Oaks, ND. He graduated from Mankato East High School in 1985. After school George went to work in heavy construction for a local company. George also worked for Hansen Farms as a farm hand.
George enjoyed going to pow wows, rodeos, family gatherings and watching Bison Football. He was a great brother and uncle. They will miss him dearly.
George is survived by his sister, Ronda Fredericks of Mandan; brother, Keith (Tamara) Fredericks of Ft. Yates; niece, Eichelle (Matt) Messana of Manda; nephew; Andrew Lawrence of Ft. Yates; aunts, Betty Lou (Marcus) Gress of Lafayette,CO, and Dawn Johnson of New Town; uncles, Pete (Sylvia) Fredericks of Twin Buttes and Tom (Judy) Fredericks of Lafayette, CO; second family, Larry, Nancy and Martin Hansen and the rest of the Hansen Family.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Keith and Betty Fredericks; brothers, Craig Fredericks and Jeffery Fredericks; paternal grandparents, John Sr. and Catherine Fredericks; maternal grandparents, Steve and Virginia Curley; uncles, Ken Fredericks Sr. and John “Buzz” Fredericks Jr; aunts; Baudine Stewart, Davine Keene and Juanita K. Warden.
Joann (Klein) Fortier
A graveside service for Joann (Klein) Fortier, 81, of Billings, MT will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, August 5, 2016 at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Dickinson.
Joann, our loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and foster mother passed away peacefully in her sleep on July 15, 2016.
Joann Eva Klein was born January 2, 1935 in Dickinson, the daughter of John and Lilian Klein and one of fourteen siblings. Joann had a passion for life and loved her children with all of her heart. She could sit and visit for hours over a cup of coffee (with ice) with anyone that listened as she bragged about the successes of her six children. Joann loved to dance, play bingo, and was a huge Elvis Presley fan. You could always find her wearing a patriotic pin or something red, white, and blue. Jeopardy was her favorite TV show and she didn’t miss an episode (do not call her at that time!).
Joann is survived by her children Renee (Fred) Rattin (Dickinson, ND); Rod (Gloria) Fortier (Missoula, MT); Tyler (Debbie) Fortier (Helena, MT); Iona (Mike) Stookey (Huntley, MT); Jolyn (Les) Meyer (Fairfield, MT); Cindy (Tim) Barta (Billings, MT). She had 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren and was the foster mother to over one hundred children. Joann is preceded in death by her parents and three brothers: Terry, Bob, and Ted.
A Memorial Service was held July 18, 2016 at Cremation and Funeral Gallery in Billings, MT.

James "Jim" Reetz Sr.
Funeral services for James “Jim” Lee Reetz, Sr., 66, of Baker, will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 30, 2016 at Baker Community Church with Pastor Neva Rathbun and Pastor Len Shatkus officiating. Burial will follow at Bonnievale Cemetery.
Visitation for Jim will be from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, July 29, 2016 at Stevenson Funeral Home with a prayer service being held at 7:00 p.m.
Jim passed away at his home on July 25, 2016.
James Lee Reetz, Sr. was born in Mountain Lake, Minnesota to Darwin and Marguerite (Marsh) Reetz on November 15, 1949. Jim grew up in Mallard, Iowa until Junior High when the family moved to Brainerd, Minnesota. While in school, Jim excelled in track where he held the school record in the 440 meter and 100 meter relay for several years. He was always doing mechanic work on those cars of the 60’s.
In 1969, he joined the United States Air Force. He was at Lacklund Air Force Base and Sheppherd Air Force Base in Texas, where he won many medals in Marksmanship. He did Launch & Recovery at Ipswich, England, and was honorably discharged in 1970. He held various jobs until moving to Baker, Montana in 1972.
Jim met LaTonne (Toni) Murphy on a blind date at the Fullerton Lumber Company Christmas party, December 21, 1972. They were married at the Baker Community Church on July 21, 1973. They recently celebrated their 43rd anniversary. No two people were more opposite for one another.
In 1974, Jim started working on the Murphy Ranch. Toni made a cowboy out of a city boy. Jim loved the ranch and lived there the rest of his life. He treated the cows and land like it was his own. Jim had a close relationship with his father-in-law, Mike Murphy. Jim and Toni shared their love with Jim Jr., John, Jolene and JaNae. Jim helped his kids with their 4-H projects, and he was so proud of them and all of their accomplishments, as well as the fine adults they have become.
Jim was always ready to help a neighbor whenever they needed him. He wasn’t someone to boast, but did a lot behind the scenes. His job in retirement was keeping Thee Body Shop clean. He really liked being around Jim and the guys. He liked being busy and always had a project, or helping one of the kids, grandkids, and Toni. His main objective in life was to love and care for Toni. It was important to him to always look nice.
Jim is survived by his wife LaTonne “Toni” Reetz; children, James, Jr. (Tammy) Reetz, Jolene (Marty) Setinc, JaNae (Chris) Crawford; grandchildren, Jonathon Reetz, Brendon Reetz, Tai Setinc, Iva Setinc, Daley Crawford, Shaley Crawford, Cyler Crawford; brothers, Dave (Terri) Reetz and Randy (Kathy) Reetz; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his son, John Anthony Reetz, and his parents and grandparents.
