Francis Boucher
A prayer service for Francis Boucher, 80, of Dickinson will be held at 6:00 p.m., Sunday, March 15, 2015 at Stevenson Funeral Service, Dickinson with Father Todd Kreitinger celebrating.
Family will be receiving friends from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
In accordance with Francis’ wishes, cremation has taken place.
A prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Monday, March 16, 2015 at the Sacred Heart Church in Rolette, ND.
A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Rolette, ND, with Father Kevin Boucher celebrating. Burial will follow at the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.
Francis passed away on Friday, March 13, 2015 at CHI St. Joseph’s Health in Dickinson.
Francis Leon Boucher was born April 17, 1934 in Rolette, ND, the son of Emil and Emeline (Cote) Boucher. Growing up he attended 8 years of country school until leaving to help on the family farm and assist in building the Garrison Dam. He then joined the Army in 1953 and was honorably discharged in 1956. Francis was married to Bernadette Casavant on October 24, 1956. He and Bernadette lived in Rolette until 1960 when moved to Denver CO where he worked as a truck driver for the Denver Post until 1971. Then they decided to move back home to Rolette where they bought a small farm and raised cattle. Frank also worked in plumbing and heating and general construction for many years.
He enjoyed being caretaker to the Rolette golf course in the summers and discovered his love for golf. In 2007 they moved to Dickinson where he became involved with Sunset Senior Center where he met many newfound friends through his love for card playing. Frank and Bernadette were blessed with three children; Roxanne, Kevin and Jill. Frank enjoyed spending time with family. He was a member of the Rolette American Legion Post 194. He was known as the jokester as he enjoyed pulling pranks and sharing jokes with others. His fun-loving spirit will be missed by all who knew him.
Francis is survived by his wife, Bernadette; son, Father Kevin Boucher of Fargo; daughters, Roxanne (Jeff) Dulany of Stuart, FL and Jill (Tevis) Deschamp of Dickinson; six grandchildren; Steve Mehrer of Fargo, Mike Mehrer (Bridget) of Bismarck, Kristen Bush (Kyle) of West Palm Beach FL, Nicholas Deschamp, Hunter Deschamp and Delaney Deschamp all of Dickinson; one great-grandchild, Morgan Mehrer; brother, Larry Boucher of Elysian MN; and sisters, Yvonne Renfandt of Minot and Julie Vandal of Bismarck.
Francis is preceded in death by his parents, Emil and Emeline Boucher; brothers, Alfred, Tony, Ovide, Aime, Vernon, Romeo and infant brother Gary; and sisters, Florence Boucher and Lydia Eller.
Donald Bender
Funeral Service for Donald Bender, 76, of Glen Ullin, formerly of Sims, will be 11:00 a.m. CDT Thursday, March 19, 2015 at Sims Scandinavian Evangelical Lutheran Church, Sims, ND, with Pastor Bill Dodd officiating. Burial will follow at the Sims Scandinavian Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery, Sims, ND.
Visitation will take place from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. CDT Thursday, March 18, 2015 at Spangelo-Stevenson Funeral Home, Glen Ullin, ND. Visitation will continue on Thursday one hour prior to the service at the church.
Don passed away, Friday, March 13, 2015 at the Marion Manor, Glen Ullin, ND.
George Tabor
Funeral services for George Tabor, 80, of Beulah, formerly of Killdeer will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 20, 2015 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Killdeer with Pastor John and Rachel Simonson officiating. Burial will follow in Killdeer Cemetery.

George passed away Friday, March 13, 2015 at Sakakawea Medical Center in Hazen, ND.
Kathryn Gillen

Liturgy of the Word Service for Kathryn Gillen, 86, of Dickinson, will be 9:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson, with Father Keith Streifel celebrating. Burial will take place in St. Vincent’s Cemetery, Mott, ND.
Visitation for Kathryn will be Tuesday, March 17 from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
Kathryn passed away Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at her home in Dickinson.
Kathryn Schulz was born June 15, 1928 south of Richardton, the daughter of Peter J. and Katherine (Scabad) Schulz.
She grew up and attended country school near Bentley, ND.
Kathryn attended high school in Richardton and graduated from Mott High School in 1946 where she was active in drama and basketball.
She went on to attend Dickinson State Teachers College.
In 1950, Kathryn and Don Ellefson were united in marriage at St. Vincent’s Catholic Church.
To this union two children were born, Robert and Anthony.
In 1961, Kathryn and Jim Gillen were married in Dickinson.
To this union one child was born, Jamee.
Kathryn spent many years teaching elementary education in Bucyrus, Hettinger, Mott, and Elgin.
She also spent time working as a billing clerk in Seattle, WA, as well as a manager of a mobile home park in Chandler, AZ, Saugus, CA, and Pocatello, ID.
She also enjoyed her time as a clerk at Safeway in Mott.
Kathryn was very active in her community.
She was a member of the NDEA; serving as secretary, St. Joseph’s Catholic Church serving as secretary of the Altar Society, Christian Mothers and she taught Sunday school.
She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Lioness Club, Young Ladies Sodality, St. Anthony, Elkettes, and Jaycettes.
She enjoyed crocheting, making oil paintings and completing crossword puzzles and crafts.
Kathryn is survived by her son, Robert (Vicki) of Dickinson; nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; and brothers, Leonard Schulz of Lynnwood, WA, and Albert Schulz of Mott, ND.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Katherine Schulz; husbands, Don Ellefson and Jim Gillen; son, Anthony; daughter, Jamee Buening; brothers, Pete, Nick and Oscar; and sisters Irene (Schulz) Glasser and Regina Diede.
Jean Hyde
A funeral service for Jean Hyde, 64, of Dickinson, ND will be 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at Stevenson Funeral Home in Dickinson with Pastor Ron Gold officiating. Burial will follow in Dickinson Cemetery.
Visitation for Jean will be one hour prior to the service at Stevenson Funeral Home.
Jean passed away Wednesday, March 11, 2005 at Sanford Health in Bismarck.
Jean Ella Hyde was born December 3, 1950 in Miles City, MT, the daughter of Roland and Margie (White) Hyde. As a young girl, the family moved to Dickinson where she grew up and attended school. Jean spent many years with Dickinson Public Schools doing janitorial work and helping in the kitchen. In her later years, after spending some time away from Dickinson she moved back in 2005 to make her final home.
Those who knew Jean well will remember her friendly nature and love for dressing up and looking pretty. She thoroughly enjoyed being pampered, especially having her nails done. Among other interests, she loved playing bingo, going on social outings and listening to old-time music.
Jean is survived by her two sisters, Nora Hyde of Bowman, ND and Agnes Hyde of Dickinson; two nieces, Rhonda of North Carolina and Mary Ann of Texas; a special cousin, Mary Brooks of Montana; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and half-brother, Melvin Schmitt in 2013.
