Chester Samuelson
Chester Samuelson, 67, East Grand Forks, died Friday, April 25, 1997, at Union Hospital, Mayville, N.D.
Chester L. Samuelson was born Oct. 9, 1929, the son of Chester D. and Hazel G. (Hallan) Samuelson, in Ebrow, Minn., where he attended school. He served in the U.S. Army from 1949 to 1953. He married Gloria Bruhjell May 19, 1953, in Bemidji. They lived in Bagley, Minn., until moving to East Grand Forks. He was a heavy-duty equipment mechanic for construction companies in the East Grand Forks area.
He is survived by his wife; sons, Kim C. (Carol), Phoenix, and Scott (Deb), East Grand Forks; daughters, Sheryl (Rodell) Ottum, Buxton, and Cynthia (Byran) Buckhouse, Grand Forks; his mother, Bemidji; 10 grandchildren; and brothers, Leo, Phoenix, and Harvey, Glasgow, Mont. He was preceded in death by his father.
Services: 2 p.m. today in Baker Funeral Home, Mayville.
Visitation: One hour before services in the funeral home.
Burial: Mayville Cemetery.
Mildred Pic
LAWTON, N.D. -- Mildred Pic, 82, Lawton, died Sunday, April 27, 1997, in Aneta (N.D.) Parkview Healthcare Center, where she had lived since May 16, 1991.
Mildred Trenda was born Dec. 30, 1914, the daughter of Adolph and Rosalie (Sticha) Trenda, in Lankin, N.D., where she attended school. She married Herman Pic Oct. 18, 1938, in Grafton, N.D. They farmed near Lawton. Herman Pic died Oct. 29, 1991.
She is survived by a daughter, Janice (Arlan) Dahlen, Dahlen, N.D.; two granddaughters; two great-grandchildren; and a brother, Clarence, Adams, N.D.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Geneva Matejcek.
Services: 2 p.m. today in Aaker Funeral Chapel, Lakota, N.D.
Burial: ZCBJ-Kosobud Cemetery, Lankin.
Malcolm Stucy
THIEF RIVER FALLS -- Malcolm Stucy, 90, Thief River Falls, formerly of Oklee, Minn., died Friday, April 25, 1997, in Oakland Park Nursing Home, Thief River Falls, where he had lived since April 4.
Malcolm Julian Stucy was born June 3, 1906, the son of Otto and Agnes (Costello) Stucy, in Thief River Falls. They lived in Hickory Township, Pennington County, Minn. In 1913, they moved to Deer Park Township, Pennington County. He married Opal Halvorson June 15, 1938. They lived and farmed the home farm. He also worked at Arctic Cat. Opal Stucy died Dec. 5, 1994.
He is survived by daughters, Nancy (Gene) Teigland, Minneapolis, and Faye (Carl) Johnson, Chico, Calif.; four grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; a brother, Kenneth, Oklee, Minn.; and a sister, Ruth Klove, Detroit Lakes, Minn.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Arthur, John, Harry and three infants; and sisters, Margaret Ekwall and Marie Vettleson.
Services: 1 p.m. today in Oak Park Lutheran Church, Oklee.
Visitation: One hour before services in the church.
Burial: Oak Park Cemetery, Deer Park Township (Green, Thief River Falls).
Harvey Underdahl
NEWFOLDEN, Minn. -- Harvey Underdahl, 66, Newfolden, Minn., died Saturday, April 16, 1997, at Northwest Medical Center, Thief River Falls.
Harvey James Underdahl was born March 30, 1931, the son of Sigward and May (Kneeskern) Underdahl, in Como Township, Marshall County, Minn., where he attended school. He moved to Montana, where he worked on a ranch. He then moved to Iowa, where he worked for Nash Finch. He married Muriel Nelson April 14, 1954, in Thief River Falls. They lived in Waterloo, Iowa, before moving to Viking, Minn. They then moved to East Grand Forks, where he worked for Coca Cola Bottling Co. They moved to New Folden Township, Marshall County, in 1961. They farmed, and he worked for Lakehead Pipeline and American Crystal Sugar beet plant in Drayton. They owned and operated a restaurant in Newfolden in 1965 and 1966. In 1977, they purchased the Hardware Hank in Newfolden.
He is survived by his wife; sons, Mike (Lola) and Greg (Beverly), both of Newfolden, and Barry (Jami), Elk River, Minn.; and daughters, Debra (Jerald) Norby, Goodridge, Minn., and CharRae (Jay) Chwialkowski, Fridley, Minn.; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and brothers, Glenn, Bismarck, Laverne, Thief River Falls, Elton, Newfolden, and Curt, in Florida.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Clifford; and a sister, Shirley Anderson.
Services: 10 a.m. Wednesday in Westaker Free Lutheran Church, Newfolden.
Visitation: 2 to 8 p.m. today, with a 7 p.m. prayer service, in Green Funeral Home, Thief River Falls, and one hour before services in the church.
Jerry Srnsky
THIEF RIVER FALLS -- Jerry Srnsky, 49, Thief River Falls, died Saturday, April 26, 1997, at Northwest Medical Center, Thief River Falls.
Jerry John Srnsky was born Dec. 18, 1947, the son of Lawrence Albert and Eloise Ann (Appell) Srnsky, in Thief River Falls. He attended school in Goodridge, Minn. He farmed with his brother in Espelie Township, Marshall County, Minn. He also worked for Arctic Enterprises. In 1985, he moved to Thief River Falls and continued to help on the family farm. He also worked at ODC, Thief River Falls.
He is survived by brothers, Larry, Goodridge, and Paul, Thief River Falls; and sisters, Margie Olson, Goodridge, Angela Sanders, Embarrass, Minn., Joy Olson, Lamoure, N.D., Nancy Asselin, Roosevelt, Minn., Judy Rustan, Oklee, and Betty Peterson, Thief River Falls.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Services: 1 p.m. today in St. Bernard's Catholic Church, Thief River Falls.

Burial: St. Bernard's Catholic Cemetery, Thief River Falls.
Anna Knutson
BAGLEY, Minn. -- Anna Knutson, 96, Bagley, formerly of Oklee, Minn., died Saturday, April 26, 1997, in Greensview Nursing Home, Bagley, where she had lived since March 9, 1976.
Anna Knutson was born Oct. 15, 1900, the daughter of Aslak and Gunhild (Krossen) Knutson, in Oklee, where she attended school.
She is survived by nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by brothers, Ole, Andy, Torkel, Knute and Osmund; and sisters, Mary Breivold and a set of twins.
Services: 2 p.m. Wednesday in Zion Lutheran Church, Oklee.
Visitation: 5 to 8 p.m. today, with a 7:30 p.m. prayer service, in Petterson Funeral Home, Oklee, and one hour before services in the church.
Burial: Valle Cemetery, Oklee.
