Ronald Russomanno
Ronald Russomanno, 59, Dickinson, died Friday, Oct. 9, at MedCenter One, Bismarck. Ron’s funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 13, at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson, with Deacon Ron Wolberg presiding. Interment will follow at St. Wenceslaus Cemetery, Dickinson. Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to service time on Tuesday at Ladbury Funeral Service.
Ronald M. Russomanno was born on Feb. 12, 1950, in Newark, N.J., the son of Lawrence and Charlotte (Houghton) Russomanno. He was raised and educated in Trenton, N.J., graduating from Hamilton High School. Ron was married to Geralyn Davey.
Ronald moved to Dickinson in the early 1980s during the oil boom. While here, he continued his own business as a floor mechanic. He loved video taping events, fishing, going to rummage sales, watching classic movies and the Beatles. His best times were spent with his family and many friends. He loved life.
Ron is survived by and will be dearly and deeply missed by his sister, Theresa (Randy) Splichal; niece, Jessica (Jesse) Gravdahl; nephew, Eric Adams; and three children, Ronald, Daniel and Angela Russomanno; and many extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his fiancée, Livy Kadrmas; his parents; and two brothers, Larry and Bobby. Arrangements are with Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson.

Peter P. “Pete” Feininger, 80, Dickinson, died Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2009, at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Health Center, Dickinson.
Pete’s Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m., Friday, Oct. 30, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Dickinson, with Father Keith Streifel officiating.
Interment will follow at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Dickinson.
Visitation will be from noon until 6 p.m., Thursday, with a rosary at 6 p.m. at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be given to the American Diabetes Association.

Ashley Anne Neufeld, 21, died Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2009.
A memorial service for Ashley will be at 2 p.m. CDT, Monday, Nov. 9 at the Central United Church, 327 Eighth St., Brandon, Manitoba, Canada. There will be a visitation and gathering of family and friends on Sunday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., CDT at the Brockie-Donovan Funeral Home, 332 Eighth St., Brandon, Manitoba, Canada.

Donald Joseph Baumann
Donald Joseph Baumann, age 77, of Beach, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 17, in Bismarck, after a three-week battle with pancreatic cancer.
Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. MST, Saturday, Nov. 21, and 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. MST, Sunday, Nov. 22, at the Chapel of the Silvernale-Silha Funeral Home in Beach. A vigil will be held at 7 p.m. MST, Sunday, Nov. 22, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Beach. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9 a.m. MST, Monday, Nov. 23, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Beach, with Reverend Father David Richter officiating. Rite of Committal will be held at 3 p.m. CST, Monday, Nov. 23, at the North Dakota State Veterans Cemetery in Mandan, North Dakota. Silvernale-Silha Funeral Home of Beach is entrusted with arrangements.
Donald was born on March 25, 1932, to the late Sadie (JeanBlanc) and Louis Baumann in Bowdon. After graduating high school in Fessenden, Donald stayed home and helped his parents on the farm. In 1956, Donald served his country in the U.S. Army for two years working as a mechanic. After his military time, Donald returned home to buy the farm from his parents. Donald stayed in Fessenden until the age of 36, attending college at Minot State University and obtaining a degree in business administration with a minor in vocational education in 1971. During college, Don was introduced to his future wife, Marlys Berglund. Don and Marlys were married on June 20, 1970, in Fessenden.
After finishing his degree, Donald and Marlys moved to Devils Lake, where he taught school and they had their first child, Stephanie Lynn. Donald and Marlys moved to Mandan in 1973, where he started his full-time career with the United States Postal Service. Donald and Marlys had their next five children in Mandan: Sheryl Marie, Scott Allen, Stacey Joseph, Shane Christopher, and Sandra Ann. Donald received an offer to become a post master in Beach in 1982, and they had their youngest child, Sheila Renee. Donald retired from the Postal Service in 1994, where he served for 28 years. He enjoyed watching his children grow up and attend events, traveling the country, the outdoors, hunting, gardening and spending time with his grandchildren.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Sadie and Louis Baumann, and his sister, Clemence.
Donald is survived by his wife of 39 years, Marlys; his seven children: Stephanie, Sheryl and her husband Stan, Scott, Stacey and his wife Heather, Shane and his wife Jinhee, Sandra, Sheila and her husband David; 10 grandchildren: Meghan, Brittanee, Matthew, Mason, Malayna, Rian, Cara, Logan, Joseph, Cole; and siblings, Louis, Grace, and Carol.

Karl Roberts, 85, Dickinson, died Monday, Nov. 30, 2009, at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Health Center, Dickinson. Karl’s funeral service will be at 10 a.m., Friday, Dec. 4, at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson, with Pastor Tim Privratsky officiating. Interment will follow at Immanuel Cemetery, Taylor. Stella Marthaller
Mass of Christian Burial for Stella Marthaller, age 89, of Mott, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 23, at St. Vincent’s Catholic Church in Mott. Father Charles Zins and Deacon Ervin Schneider will officiate with burial in Sunnyslope Cemetery.
A rosary service will be held on Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m., followed by a visitation until 7 p.m., all at the Evanson-Jensen Funeral Home in Mott.
Stella passed away early Thursday morning, Nov. 19, 2009, at the West River Regional Medical Center in Hettinger.
Surviving family members include her five daughters and three sons-in-law, Evelyn and Don Treitline, St. Hilaire, Minn.; Janice and Don Erdman, Hamilton, Mont.; Judy Laing, El Dorado Hills, Calif.; Vicky and Doug Friez, Bismarck; Deb Marthaller, Mott; one son and daughter-in-law, Kelly and Lisa Marhtaller, Bismarck; 11 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren,

William J. Murray
William J. Murray, “Bill,” 88, formerly of Bismarck, died Jan. 18, 2010 in Dubuque, Iowa. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 29, at Church of Corpus Christi, 1919 N. Second St., Bismarck, with Rev. Paul Becker officiating. Burial will be held at the North Dakota Veteran’s Cemetery, Mandan.
Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 28, at Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck, where a rosary will begin at 6 p.m.
William J. Murray (Bill) was born on March 14, 1921, in Elma, Iowa, the son of William and Bridget (Sullivan) Murray.
He was the youngest child when his family moved to Billings, Mont., for one year.
His family moved to Casselton for a short time before settling in Fargo.
Bill attended primary school at St. Mary’s parochial school in Fargo.
He attended high school at Sacred Heart Academy in Fargo in 1938.
He attended Marquette University in Milwaukee for one semester.
He began working at Burroughs Corp. until the start of World War II, when he enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps in November of 1942.
He served in the 487th Bomb Group, 836th Bomb Squadron in England, flying 25 missions over Europe, reaching the rank of tech sergeant.
He returned to Burroughs Corp. in Bismarck.
He married Betty Ann Manley in 1946 in Bismarck.
She died in 1975. William married Adeline “Heidi” Roth Cinder on March 19, 1977, at Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Bismarck.
They lived in Bismarck for 33 years until moving to Dubuque, Iowa, in May 2009.
Heidi and Bill were charter members of Corpus Christi Catholic Church.
He served in many church functions as a member of Corpus Christi, serving as volunteer instructor.
His pastimes included square dancing, playing chess and reading.
He is survived by his wife, Adeline “Heidi” Murray; his stepson, Donald Cinder, Dubuque, Iowa; his stepdaughter, Beth Isaak (Fred) Dubuque, Iowa; his grandchildren, Natascha Stocker (Ryan) Vancouver, Wash., James Isaak (Sonya) Virginia Beach, Va.; great-grandchildren, Taryn Stocker, Maya Stocker, and Cameron J. Isaak; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brothers; Don Murray and Damian Murray “Jim”; his sisters, Geraldine Murray, Margaret Murray; and Genevieve Murray; and his parents.
