Raymond 'Ray' Adcock
Raymond “Ray” O. Adcock, 91, Dickinson, died Thursday, Aug. 27, at St. Benedict’s Health Center, Dickinson after a battle with age related conditions complicated from a fall in his home.
Ray’s Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 1, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Dickinson with Fr. Todd Kreitinger as the celebrant and Fr. Casmir Paluck as con-celebrant.
Interment will take place on Wednesday at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan, with military honors provided by the Dickinson Honors Team following the mass.
Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to noon, Tuesday at Ladbury Funeral Service.
Arrangements are with Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson.
Maribeth Hoff
Funeral services for Maribeth Hoff, 44, of Dickinson, are pending with Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson.

Eva Gjermundson
Eva M. Gjermundson, 96, Taylor, died Friday, Sept. 18, 2009, surrounded by her family at the St. Luke’s Home, Dickinson.
Eva’s funeral service will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 23, at the Taylor Lutheran Church, Taylor, with Rev. Noel T. Vold officiating. Interment will follow at the Taylor Lutheran Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m., Tuesday at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday.
Eva Carlson was born near Halliday to John and Caroline (Michaelson) Carlson on Aug. 25, 1913. She was the youngest of two children raised and educated in Halliday, and she was Baptized and confirmed at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Halliday.
Eva married Sven Gjermundson on Oct. 17, 1930. Following their marriage they lived in the Halliday and Marshall area until moving to Taylor in 1958. While living in Taylor, Eva worked as a cook and custodian at the Taylor Public School and as custodian at the Taylor Lutheran Church. She spent many summers at the family Bible camp in Medora as an assistant cook.
Eva was very active in the Taylor Lutheran Church participating in quilting, Bible studies and the Ladies’ Aide. She also spent many years as part of the Taylor VFW Auxiliary. Eva especially enjoyed bird and train watching, and taking care of neighborhood cats. Her greatest love was her family and she will always be remembered as a kind and gentle person.
Eva is survived by her eight children, Sylvia (Bill) Wendland, Dickinson, Clara (Ingvald) Paulson, Taylor, Olga Lingle, Circle, Mont., Stanley (Sharon) Gjermundson, Marshall, Larry Gjermundson, Taylor, Paul Gjermundson, South Heart, Robert (Eileen) Gjermundson, Taylor, and June (Marlin) Rambousek, South Heart; 24 grandchildren; 62 great, grandchildren; 17 great, great, grandchildren; and one niece, Eleanor Peterson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Sven on Nov. 3, 1980; her sister, Lillian Carlson; a nephew, Einar Carlson; a great-granddaughter, Jasmine Gjermundson; and two sons-in-law, Clarence Hansen and Evan Lingle.
Arrangements are with Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson.
Peter Albert Kuchenski
Funeral Mass for Peter Albert Kuchenski, 87, of Dickinson, will be 9 a.m., Friday Oct. 9, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church with Father Todd Kreitinger celebrating.
Military honors will take place following the service on Friday and will be provided by the Dickinson Honors Team.
Burial will be in the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery at 3 p.m. CDT on Friday.
Visitation will be Thursday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. with a vigil service being held at 7 p.m. at Stevenson Funeral Home.
Pete passed away Saturday, Oct. 3, at the St. Joseph Hospital & Health Center in Dickinson.
Peter Albert Kuchenski was born on Oct. 27, 1921, north of Dickinson on a farm to Michael and Mary (Jeromchek) Kuchenski.
He lived there with his parents and helped on the farm until he was 18 years old.
Pete joined the Navy in 1945 and was stationed in Adak, Alaska for several years.
He had a medical discharge from the Navy.
Pete was part of the first carpenter crew to build the Garrison Dam.
He and his co-workers slept on the ground the first few nights until they could build a shed to sleep in.
Pete and his sweetheart, Lorraine (Friesz), were married in 1949 and went to Seattle for four months.
Upon returning to Dickinson, he built a motel and seven homes.
Pete also was the inspector at the Radar Base with the Corps of Engineers until the project was completed.
He owned and operated the Spur Bar for twenty years, building on an addition to the front, remodeling the inside with a horseshoe bar and dance hall.
Pete also owned the Dickinson Car Wash for several years.
Pete and Lorraine built the Family Steak and Cake and operated that restaurant for six years before selling it to the China Doll.
Peter and Lorraine moved to Rogers, Ark., where they owned and operated a Sony and RCA TV store.
In 1987, Pete began working again with the Corps of Engineers at the Ballard Lockes in Seattle.
He worked there four years before retiring.
Pete and his wife moved to Spokane for two years before moving back to Dickinson in 1992.
Pete and Lorraine built the home they currently lived in at 25 Kuchenski Dr. in 1965.
He was a member of the American Legion, Eagles, St. Anthony’s Club, St. Patrick’s Catholic Church and also was a commander of American Veterans for 12 years.
Pete loved woodworking, making crafts, building, playing cards, traveling and visiting with his children and grandchildren.
Pete is survived by his wife, Lorraine, Dickinson; son, Peter (Susan) Kuchenski Jr., Magnolia, Texas; daughters, Debbie (Lynn) Kern, Bonney Lake, Wash.; Jackie Gund, Olympia, Wash.; Delraine (Ken) Ferguson, Cypress, Texas; and Jill Kuchenski, Greeley, Colo.; 14 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brothers, Mike Kuchenski Jr., Dickinson; George Kuchenski, Dickinson; Edwin (Peggy) Kuchenski, Dickinson; Robert (Linda) Kuchenski, Spokane, Wash.; Victor (Betty) Kuchenski, Portland, Ore.; sisters, Emma Boehm, Spokane, Wash.; Ellie Best, Spokane, Wash. He is preceded in death by both parents; step mother, and a sister, Ann Frankowski.
