Cecil H. McCahan, 84, of Cando, ND, died Thursday, April 19, 2001 at Towner County Living Center, Cando.
Funeral services will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. at Assembly of God Church, Cando. Rev. Robin Storer will officiate and burial will be in the Zion Cemetery, rural Cando.
Everyone in Cando remembers Cecil and Joyce driving around in the white pickup, Joyce sitting in the middle nestled next to her beloved Cecil.

Barbara Kubischta, 93, Dickinson, died May 31
Barbara Kubischta, 93, Dickinson, died Thursday, May 31, 2001, at the St. Benedict's Health Center, Dickinson. The funeral mass will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, June 2 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Dickinson, with Fr. Jerry Kautzman as the celebrant.
Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday, at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson, with a rosary at 7:30 p.m., led by Mr. George Keller.

Timothy James Keller
Timothy James Keller, 59, Bismarck passed away at home on July 17 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, July 22, at Corpus Christi Church, Bismarck, with the Rev. Paul Becker officiating. Visitation was held on Monday from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Hertz Funeral Home of Harvey. Visitation was also held from 5-7 on Tuesday, July 21, at the church followed by a prayer service at 7 p.m. Burial will be held on Thursday, July 23 at 1 p.m. at the St. Cecilia’s Catholic Cemetery Harvey.
Tim was born on Feb. 6, 1950 in Harvey, the son of Steve and Wilda (Swedlund) Keller. He graduated from Harvey High School in 1968 and from North Dakota State University in 1973 with a degree in business economics.
Tim married Gail Helgerud on April 6, 1974 in Harvey. Tim worked for the Bureau of Reclamation in Harvey, Grand Island, Nebraska, Billings, Mont. and most recently in Bismarck.
In January 2009, after 38 and 1/2 years of exceptional public service, Tim retired receiving numerous awards including a Citation for Superior Service and an Honor Award from the United States Department of the Interior.
Tim was a member of the Eagles and Elks Clubs, the Riverwood and Tom O’Leary golf courses and a former member of the Elks chorus and church choir all of Bismarck. Tim loved life and lived it to the fullest. Whether he was golfing, bowling, shooting pool, riding his Harley, or DJing an event, Tim did it with passion and drive. He had charisma and confidence which made him successful in whatever he did.
Tim was a loving husband and father and a friend to many. He is survived by his wife Gail; his sons Brian, Virginia Beach, Va. and Kevin and his special friend Katie Kopp, Bismarck; his mother Wilda Keller, Harvey; his brothers Steven (Beckee) Keller, Harvey, Geoff (Bev) Keller, Glendale, Ariz., and Tom (Lori) Keller, Becker, Minn.; his sisters Paulette (Bob) Deutsch, Northwood, Julie (Rockie) Stavn, Bismarck, Mary (Carson) Steiner, Dickinson, Kathy Jo (Kent) Taylor, Watford City, and Debbie (Steve) Kourajian, Harvey and numerous nieces and nephews.
Tim was preceded in death by two infant daughters, his brother Michael and his father Steve. The family would like to extend their gratitude to St. Alexis Hospice for the care and support.
Dorothy Renner
Funeral services for Dorothy Renner, 87, of Dickinson will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 10, 2009, at Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson, with Fr. Todd Kreitinger celebrating. Interment will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery.
Visitation will be Thursday, July 9, noon to 9 p.m. at Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson, with a rosary service at 7 p.m.
Dorothy passed away Sunday, June 21, 2009, at MedCenter One Hospital in Bismarck.
Dorothy Renner was born May 18, 1922, in Bismarck, the daughter of Harry and Pearl Nelson. She grew up and attended school in Bismarck. She married Edwin Eugene Phillips on June 18, 1942. For a few years, they resided in Bismarck where she worked as a bookkeeper. During this time four children were born.
In the mid 1950’s they moved to Dickinson, where they had two more children. Her husband, Edwin Eugene Phillips, died on Jan. 18, 1961. Dorothy later remarried Adam Renner on June 20, 1971, in Dickinson. Adam died on Aug. 11, 2001.
While living in Dickinson, Dorothy was a homemaker and a past secretary at the VFW. She enjoyed playing cards and playing yahtzee.
She is survived by three sons, Dennis Phillips, Phoenix, Ariz., Gerald Phillips, Fargo, and Edwin Phillips, Weimar, Calif.; three daughters, Kathleen Phillips, Chandler, Ariz., Aleta Huskinson, Kingman, Ariz., Carol Gentille, Chandler, Ariz.; one sister, Fern Nelson, Petaluma, Calif.; one brother, Harold Nelson, Kent, Wash.; 16 grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two parents and three brothers.

Elsie passed away Sunday, July 5, 2009, at St. Benedict’s Health Center in Dickinson.
Elsie M. Magelky was born June 1, 1931, to Peter and Anna (Bernhardt) Magelky in Dickinson. She grew up on the family farm near Taylor. She attended grades school in Taylor before moving with the family and graduating from high school in Dickinson. Over the years, Elsie made her home in various towns across North Dakota such as Reeder, Kenmare, Williston, and Grand Forks. However, she always considered Dickinson her home. She enjoyed playing cards, Bingo and visiting with family and friends.
She is survived by her three sisters, Mildred Hoff, Richardton; Helen Marsh, Dickinson; Alice Paulson, Colorado Springs, Colo.; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by both of her parents, husband Walter Monson; brothers-in-law, Erwin Hoff, Sam Marsh and LeRoy Paulson.

Ruby Lambourn
Funeral services for Ruby Lambourn, 99, of Dickinson will be 10 a.m., Monday, June 15 at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church Dickinson with Pastor Steve Tangen officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m. in the Bowman Cemetery, Bowman.
Visitation will be from noon to 9 p.m., Sunday, June 14 at Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson.
Ruby passed away Thursday, June 11 in Dickinson.
Ruby Alice Yanski was born Jan. 27, 1910 in Bowman to Emil and Mary (Bennet) Yanski. She grew up and attended schools in the Bowman and Reeder area.
On March 18, 1927, Ruby and Earl C. Lambourn were married in Hettinger. To this union five children were born, Mary, Bethel, Lawrence, Darlene and Joan. Together, they lived in the Bowman and Reeder area where they made their home.
After Earl’s death, Ruby began working as a cook at the public school in Reeder. After all the children were graduated from high school, Ruby moved to Ames, Iowa and worked as a cook for a juvenile facility. She retired in 1980. Due to failing health, Ruby moved into St. Luke’s Care Center in 2004.
Ruby enjoyed playing pinochle and whist. She also enjoyed knitting hats, gloves and slippers. She loved her church and especially enjoyed studying the Bible. Ruby loved her children and enjoyed spending time with them, as well as their families. Ruby liked to garden and enjoyed both the vegetable and flower gardens. She enjoyed her independence and traveled around in her own car or by bus. Ruby was very adaptive to the many changes she experienced in her 99 years of life and even continued taking computer classes at St. Luke’s Home.
She is survived by her daughters, Darlene Ruby, Ames, Iowa and Joan (John) Maskie, Mount Rose, Colo.; daughter in-law, Donna Lambourn, Seattle; 17 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great grandchildren; sister, Doris Maas, Golden, Colo.
She is preceded in death by parents; husband, Earl; son, Lawrence; daughters, Mary (William) Holmes and Bethel (Wayne) Morris; seven siblings.
Family suggests memorials may be made to Heartland Hospice, St. Luke’s Nursing Home or St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church.
